Republic Academy(Group D): 4th period, Combat Training

Monday 5pm, 4th period. The weather was terrible. What started off as a nice and sunny day is storming now. Aka’s third period class had ended and the students practically ran off the field. They left him there with the elements. As thunder roared and lighting struck down his favorite tree, he remained unwaveringly for his next class.

This class seemed to be running behind, and it could’ve been because of the weather. Aka wouldn’t let that stop him from preparing though. He’d sink his ten fingers  into his fallen tree and begin to dynamic dead lift. This exercise entailed squatting low to dead lift the tree but then hop into a split kick before starting again. It wasn’t long after that the class started to appear on the field with their raincoats.

It’s possible this period would’ve normally been cancelled but not for Aka. The office staff knows how crazy , he can get about his classes. So as they all began to take their places on the now muddy field ,Aka would finish only 3 million dynamic deadlifts before address their tartiness. Because if he knew anything it was that ,(thoughts: The fate of the republic is in my hands. Whether or not Gaia and her army of God beasts turn their back on us and trample the republic; Murdering hundreds of thousands of civilian babies, all comes down to how well I can teach these kids to weather the storm.”)

”Do you feel that?!” He’d scream over the raging wind and rain. ” This weather you’re feeling here, Rookies is a storm! Just a regular storm!” the sounds of thunder interrupts while he goes into his tiger stance. ” This is nothing to be afraid of! You know what’s scarier than this?! You! You are way scary than this! You’re a different kind of storm! You’re a ninja storm!  You hear me?! The call is on! Your force is getting strong! You’ll have to brave the weather! Stand to together!  Our training begins now! Are you ready?!”

"Yes sensei!" Ilya screamed in response as the terrible weather didn't seem to bother Aka thus it wouldn't bother him, he would spy Zaddy standing off to the side trying in vain to talk to the Assyria. Though her facial expression showed she was probably pretending she couldn't hear him over the wind, rather than speaking the girl would raise her hand and make a thumbs up in response to Aka's statements. Meanwhile Glory was holding her arms close to her body looking at their sensei as if he was crazy to hold their training in such a situation. "Okay Sensei..." she said gloomily while looking around to see what Takata and Shou were doing as hopefully they weren't sucked into the crazy antics like Ilya was.

God Takata hated the rain. It made everything about him feel heavier and mud gunked up his skates. Yet here he was with this... Explosive man. He was impressed with his sheer strength he displayed but that's where his joy ended as he seemed just annoyed that he had to stand in the muck. He may have hated the water but he did enjoy the rushing wind, he smirked a bit to himself as some tangent thought about riding a current washed over his mind. Cheering himself up a touch, the boy pumped an arm up. "I AM A STORM!! I'M READY AKA-SENSEEEEEI!!" He ended with a bit of a singsong in his tone. The boy looked around at the situation and wondered if it would be best to jump into a tree... Well he'd have to wait to see what this infectious man had in store for them.

Shou usually liked rain, but being out in a storm was different altogether. It made wearing a lot of fabric into a chore, which is why he had decided to leave his kimono back in the classroom. He now sat in a pair of baggy grey hakama and a white sleeveless shirt with sandals on his feet, his hair sopping wet and falling down to cover his eyes. The weather was enough to make his mood dour, but somehow Aka's attitude was infectious and brought a smile to his lips. He looked over when Takata shouted animatedly back at their sensei, a voice whispering in the back of his mind that despite what may be inside of him, Takata was just a kid "And how would you feel if someone treated you like and uncontrollable monster?" The thought was enough to place a kernel of guilt in Shou's belly. He stepped a little closer to Takata and called back to their instructor "I don't really feel like a storm but I'll humor you for a bit!"

Well it would seem at least a few of his students knew what was going on, however he'd probably need to drill the idea into the rest of them. With a flourish, Aka set his stance and then swung his left arm down in a chopping motion, the sheer force of the swing sent a wave of rain drops off his arm to spatter against Zaddy like mini-bullets, they wouldn't do any damage but they'd probably sting a bit. "PAY ATTENTION WHEN I'M TEACHING OR YOU CAN GO THREE ROUNDS IN THE RING WITH ME!" The instructor roared out before giving a deep belly laugh and pointing at the rest of the students.

"Becoming the Storm is more than just mental focus! It's more than just believing you are the Storm though that's a damn good start! You need to understand the storm, feel the storm, know the storm! Once you realise that you can embody the storm, accept it into your body and your mind so that your limbs strike like the lightning, your body thrums with the power of thunder, your chakra churns the oceans and your blood splits the sky!" He slammed his hands together after this with a massive shockwave and a gazebo appeared over the students, keeping them dry for the moment. About sixty feet away another gazebo appeared with nothing under it.

"Know the storm, feel the storm, understand how the rain drops and the lightning cracks! That is your mission here!" Aka stepped under the gazebo and pulled out several sheafs of paper from within his flak jacket, all of them somehow bone dry. He handed one to each Student and then stepped out of the gazebo again, seemingly enjoying the rain that fell onto him.

"Each of you must cross to the other awning over there while keeping your piece of paper dry! The more drops of water that hit your piece of paper, the less points you will receive! You are not allowed to hide the piece of paper in your clothing, it must be visible for the entire run! If your paper is completely soaked or disintegrates, you must do five hundred star jumps in the middle of the storm! I hope all of you are prepared to feel the storm!" He grinned and then stomped on the ground, pointing towards the other gazebo. "Run! Run you tiny Thunderclouds, dodge the rain!"

Shou took his paper and looked from his sensei to the other gazebo, slowly thinking about how best to approach the test. After a few moments he nodded to himself, folding the paper in half horizontally and then vertically before gripping it between his teeth. He made sure that the paper was still plainly visible to his sensei before dashing out into the storm. The other gazebo was straight ahead, meaning he didn't have to plot out his path, so he kept his head angled towards the ground. It let him see in front of him, but would hopefully protect the paper from a large majority of the rain "At least I hope it will..." he thought to himself, though he willed the doubt away. Doubt was death to a shinobi, or whatever his father was always saying.
