Republic Academy(Group B): 2nd period, Combat Training

Monday 1pm, 2nd period. The weather was pleasant and the sun was hot. Aka’s first period class had ended an hour ago. Class was just starting to heat up when the school bell ran around noon. The ringing meant that they had to be dismissed for lunch. Something the school required of the instructors to do, so Aka had to let them go despite his urge to hold them back.

One by one they left the field, so Aka decided to go ahead and have himself some lunch as well. What Aka considered lunch some might think of as torment. He’d open his meal sack and pull out his food container. As he cracked it open the stank of his pent up boiled chicken would fill his surroundings. This smell delighted him because it only brought one thing to mind, gains. He’d open his water bottle and use a bit of it to wash his hands and wet his face.

“Mm ..mm it’s time for some breast and abs today!” Aka placed his meal prep underneath a low tree branch. He’d then mold chakra to his feet and hang on the branch upside down. He’d then reach down and grab some chicken breast and take a bite. Every bite he took would then be followed by a full sit up with his elbow touching the opposite knee. He wanted to fully engage his obliques before taking another bite and doing the same to the other side.

“Breast and abs, breast and abs, I’m saying breast and abs, breast and abs. What we working on? Breast and abs, breast and abs”. He’d commit to this mantra and continue this pattern all throughout the lunch break.  By the time 1pm came along he was able to complete a fair amount of those twisting sit ups. “Eighty-four million!” He’d drop down hearing the voices of his second class approaching the field.

Once they were in position. He’d scan the room with his eyes letting the weight of his responsibilities fall onto his strong shoulders.(Thoughts:”The fate of the republic is in my hands. It all comes down to how well I can ready these kids . Teach them to fight with passion and togetherness!”) He’d shout at them. ”Silence!” and then begin to do a chart wheel followed by a round off into three back hand springs and finish off with 1080 back flip. Once he landed perfectly in-front of the class, he would go right into his tiger stance. ”Rookies! Victory is ours forever more! Protectors of the light, defenders sworn to fight! We embark on our training. Are you ready?!”

Relazar would be walking onto the training field his class would be using when the bell had rung for the second class of the day and would begin stretching his limbs in order to get himself all loose and ready for whatever would be coming his way during the class. He would examine his surroundings and take note of the instructor that had been eyeing up his fellow classmates as well as himself, the man looked like he was meaning business, as well as looking like a more physical combatant. Perhaps this person would be able to help him out with his ax skills as he knew that he was lacking. Many people have always wondered why he had decided to choose an ax instead of a sword, and he never really knew the answer himself. Well, perhaps it was how comfortable he was swinging the tool around back on the caravan, making it his job to cut down some trees for firewood... After asking Gaia if it was okay to be doing such a thing of course. That was when the instructor had decided to address the class in a rather formal speech pattern, which made the Jiko wonder what exactly this man had in mind. "Aye sensei, We are ready."

As the group moved towards their next class, Hanzo had his nose in a small book reading through multiple entries. He'd promised his father that he would read up on the Yuki-Onna and complete a small quiz about her. Even though the Academy was teaching him many things, it wasn't teaching him the family business so his father was still keeping him up to date on that. Once they reached the sensei, Hanzo marked his page and put the book away.

It was interesting to see an instructor that actually seemed to have some fire and energy and it was quite contagious. Hanzo put his hands together and bowed towards Aka. "Yes sensei! I won't let you down!" He barked out, rising from his bow and starting to follow Relazar's example and stretch and loosen himself up for the training that was to come.

Lil Petal would arrive late to class but would immediately move over to Hanzo and punched him on the shoulder as a greeting. She had some respect for him out of everyone else in the class so she didn’t mind his company unless he starting talking that whack shit again. Swiss was second to arrive behind lil petal with his mind far away from his body as he was daydreaming about meeting the Sanbi Jinchuriki that was rumored to be in the same year as them. He could actually be the first person in his clan to talk to him and quite possibly befriend him or even marry him? Either way, he was swaying happily from left to right thinking about what he was going to gift Sanbi-dono. Fallon was next to arrive a bit disappointed that class had started so soon as she was in the middle of stalking a cute boy she had seen around campus. She had managed to get his used napkin and his half-eaten cupcake but she needed more.. And last but certainly not least Alessandro came in with his usual fanfare singing at the top of his voice, if you call it singing, which would no doubt cause everyone to cover their ears.

Aka smiled bright at the two students who were on time and ready to learn. The others who came late were the reason for a sudden shift in his mood. The other three just came strolling in like this was ok. They came in as if this was the way, but it wasn’t. Aka knew that it was still fairly early in the day and they’d have to go to other classes after this. So he’d have to think of the proper way to deal with them without draining their energy.

“ I must not waiver. Discipline is the key to success. Their success is the bridge between eternal peace for the republic and total annihilation. I will not waiver with them, they will know discipline”. Aka would slowly nod twice to himself and make his way in front of the whole class. He’d pick up a rock about the size of a human head and show it to the entire class. Once the class’ attention shifted to the rock he’d then grunt loudly and toss the rock into the air .

The rock never lost any momentum as it continued to go up and up as if it went passed the stratosphere.  Aka would then point at the three students who came in late. “Your tardiness has moved me to slight anger. Your lack of respect has moved me to tossing the rock. Now your ignorance will be the reason why this rock will come down and break some mother’s back. Best pray it isn’t one of yours.”

With that statement, Aka would clap his hands and reveal a few courses but the way they were set up, wasn’t for racing. “Rookies, you must know by now that actions have consequences. You might think, that your actions are small, but even as little as being late for the most important class of your young lives; can lead to dire consequences. These three have broken a mother’s back! This is terrible, all of you, vow now to not fail the republic in this way again!”

Aka waits for the class to vow. Then he’d point towards a sand pit. “Today, I’ll be assessing your resolves. I want to see which one of you can tap into the hunger inside!  First course is a distance jump. Using your strength and intellect I want to see which one of you will jump the furthest. Line up behind this here mark and once you’re ready, one by one, you all will run and leap as far into the sand pit as you can. Once you’re done line back up. Do you understand?!!”
