Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Empty
PostSubject: Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4   Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Icon_minitime25th May 2020, 10:32 am

The participants of the fight would be herded into metal boxes that had no windows or any way to look out of them, in fact they even seemed to shut off additional forms of sensory. The boxes were then lifted up and carried away to the fighting stage.

As the boxes hovered above the battlefield, a series of small messages would appear on the inside of the box in glowing blue font that spelled out what exactly was happening.

"You will be placed on a platform next to another individual. That is the person you are teamed with. The Finals are Cross-Team Doubles. Defeat the opposing team to win the round. Wins grant 2 points, Draws grant 1 point to each team, Losses count as 0 points. Battle starts in 5..."

The number then counted down, when it hit zero the first four combatants would drop onto the battlefield. From the moment the boxes opened, both teams fell into a pall of mist that instantly made their clothes and hair damp. It was incredibly thick and lingered across the entire field, making it hard to see much of anything except the person next to them.

The first team was dropped off, Kotone and Diana, both of them quite likely used to misty battlefields and were now teamed together to face the first round of the Exams!

The second pair of boxes, one hundred feet ahead, though neither team would realise this, dropped off two other figures; Juliana and Gado, hopefully at least one of them knew their way around a misty field!

A klaxon then sounded out across the field, signalling the start of the first fight.

He was the leat emotionally invested due to a few reasons in regards to how the parings went and the people in his life simply coming and going. At that particular point, along with the fact that Akira was split up with him, Gado had to find his own motivations for trying to pass the exams. But first, he needed to get out of this box.

"Hey, let me out of here! I'm not any stray animal! Why am I in a box?! What is this thing made of anyway?!"

Of course he would panic, being a Kurogane and having such powerful senses, being in a box that cut him off of those senses was nothing short of a horror story.  But once he was let out, it just seemed like a continuation of a horror story. There was some chick let out beside him though.

Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 24180795-352-k93730
"A M-m-m-mist field?"

It was at that point he looked over what the letters on the box and quickly read what it said. Regardless of the matter, the chick next to him gave off the vibe of being one of those prodigy ninjas, and Gado wanted to save face. At the very least, he didn't want dipu ninja to look weak in the case of his mom kicking him out of the house or something, even if he was 12.  After that small thought, he did his Dance of the verbena, putting on armor and paying an A rank amount for the chakra resistance portion.

"Don't fight this, just relax. Please trust me."

In addition to that, Gado clapped his hands and not only touched his head, but he went and tapped the girl on the shoulder.  If she relaxed and let him in, they would have more of a private time to talk.

"Think of this as our little chatroom, they can't penetrate this so we can pass information to each other in real-time. My senses are pretty good, i know exactly where they are as long as they keep their feet on the ground. That and... smells... i'm a kurogane so... yeah. Plus I can take a punch so no worries. "

He could feel their brain waves as well, so tracking them was no problem for Gado.

PostSubject: Re: Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4   Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Icon_minitime26th May 2020, 8:09 am

Kotone took a deep breath stepping in to the box. Last she was aware, she was on the harder course, it stood to reason if they were being put in to pairs, then none of Jielko would be working together. What better way of testing the team than completely splitting them up. She was well prepared for just that, and this felt confirmed by the words read on the wall. "Miss Kotone? How do you think we should progress?"

"Honestly Thadie, I don't think we can really say until we open up again. Eyes up. We'll work with whoever we are with and take this round home for a win."

Together the two remained silent the rest of their trip. And together, they shared a grin as the field opened up before this. Mist! Perfect.

She looked first to her opponents; a boy she didn't recognise, and a girl she definitely did. After a slight second of scowling at her, she suddenly switched in to a smile and happily waved across the field. "Hi Juliana! Nice to see you again! No hard feelings after the last round right?" Her belief was also proven right as she looked to her partner, a girl she had never met before. "Hi, I'm Kotone. Nice to work with you." She cracked her knuckles as the sea serpent partner unrolled from around her neck. "I've faced Juliana over there in the last round. A powerful physical attacker, and I'm pretty sure a Toketsu. Caused a lot of problems being so tricksy. Don't know the boy though." Realising this she perked up again. "And hey! Nice to meet you stranger! Good luck!" She hated that it was a little bit cocky but... she was a Zakiyoshi. Mist was kind of her home turf. The best part? The reverbaration! She had a giggle to herself. "Oh, this will be super fun."

"Don't get too cocky Miss Kotone. You might have a home field advantage, in more ways than one I suppose, but that isn't enough to keep you from not playing safe."

Now a little used to the acoustics she hushed her tone to keep the conversation to themselves. "I'm a Zakiyoshi. Watery fields are my speciality. I am after all the Sea of Jielko. Which means..." With a blink, she activated her dojutsu at the lowest level. "I can see everything." She waved a hand, drawing the water from her vial and producing her kusarigami form of the Water Wield.

PostSubject: Re: Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4   Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Icon_minitime29th May 2020, 8:24 pm

Juliana had been whistling with her hands in her pockets from the moment she was separated from her teammates and put into a metal box, such was the way of the world you couldn't really fight things like this and she knew eventually she would be out and potentially would have to battle her teammates. She was most looking forward to that out of everything oh and also fighting that Jin boy who seemed to be her polar opposite. So when she got out she was already somewhat in the mood for a battle and it was quickly evident by the chilled air that leaked out of her box when it opened that she was ready to fight.

The fact that their battlefield was covered in mist only made her smirk a bit more, sure it wasn't something she was fond of as she liked her opponents to see her coming so she could crush them with her power but as a Toketsu a little mist didn't bother her especially since it would hide the fact that her Winter's Breath would slowly turn the area into a battlefield more appealing to her. She would turn when someone spoke to her and seeing as they immediately reached her she would relax as they had to be her ally. "Well this is convenient, I guess we are talking in our heads?." she thought to Gado once the telepathic link was established. "Well, the mist is a bit annoying but I can deal if you act as my spotter. It'll get pretty cold when I start cutting loose so sorry about that in advance but in a battlefield like this we just have to outlast them to win." she thought after a moment before exhaling and making hand seals in order to try and change a portion of the mist into frost so as to further increase her advantage on this battlefield.

It was rather disappointing that she was forced to be paired with some random person and not her teammates but she had to make do with the hand she was dealt she was positive the others felt the same. Stepping outside the box, she'd be greeted with a battlefield covered in mist. "This is just perfect." She muttered to herself a bit annoyed with the fact that this would make it harder for them to fight. She was tempted to summon Vivaan to help her out but she'd hold out on that for the time being and just focused on the battle at hand. "Kotone was it? I'm sorry about this." She said in a truly remorseful tone as she drew her denki kunai and twirling it around in her palm, releasing a jolt of lightning to travel throughout the mist in an attempt to shut down anything that wasn't lightning-based. She would immediately draw her katana and rushed towards Julianna at crashing ground speeds. To stop her partner from trying to interrupt her from taking Julianna out, Diana would use the Bushin technique to create after images as she moved to throw him and of course off her trail, that was if the could even see through the mist. Swinging her blade in an arc aiming at her midsection, Diana would look to launch Juliana in the air with her attack and would then follow up by throwing four senbon in her direction.

PostSubject: Re: Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4   Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Icon_minitime31st May 2020, 9:48 pm

With Gado's armor already up and the fact that he was tracking the enemy team since they were 80 feet away from him, as well as their brain waves once they crossed the 60-foot threshold,  Either way,  he had time to act and he had time to track them, It was Gado's dance that made him resistant to Diana's Jutsu for the time being.  In addition to that, the directory of the vibration sensory and their brainwave was passing through the network he established. Everything was still going through telepathy and transferring that information to  Julianna, more or less.  However, he couldn't do much about the electrical field, even if it was still crackling against his armor. It didn't affect him if it couldn't get through his exoskeleton, and the only thing it that he could do right now was protect her while feeding her information.

It made no sense to call your team *or what's left of it * "Ageis", if you can't protect anything.  So reacting to the brainwaves of Diana  and using his b rank speed, Gado positioned himself in order to directly intercept the approaching brain wave not apart of his network to intercept Diana and use dance of the larch at B rank speeds.  With that particular dance being enhanced by dance of the verbena,  the 6 bones that were coming out to counter Diana's nintaijutsu physical assault also had the ability to deal a C rank amount of Life release physical slashing damage per bone within a 5 foot distance of him while he protected his partner in a dancing fashion.

In addition to that not being a direct contact hit since Gado was setting up defense and distance, as well as his dancing preventing knockback.

"How are you holding up?  Looks like we got something strange going on here, she's very offensive. But you should know where they are as well. "

He also took the time to pick up on their scents.

PostSubject: Re: Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4   Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Icon_minitime1st June 2020, 8:50 am

Kotone just smiled as she watched her partner for the round charging with lightning, feeling the slight tingle in the air around her. It made sense people might expect a Zakiyoshi to not like lightning, but Kotone was unique in her own little ways. If anything she seemed to enjoy that lightning. Meanwhile Thadie was much, much less impressed. The lightning was disrupting her after all. So she would trust Kotone to control this round, or at least until Diana let up on the lightning. But Kotone also knew just how strong Julianna could be, and as Diana also targetted her it only made sense to two-on-one the threat she knew. The mist was absolutely perfect. She raced off, her speed being pushed further than natural by the atmosphere to keep up and weaving her signs. In front of Diana for a split second, she would form words from the water in the mist; 'When I say now, blink', all to warn her of the coming technique. She was going to show why she was a master in the mists. "Now!" She suddenly called out, charging her body rapidly as serpents of lightning coiled around her, flashing brightly, and sending the flashes all throughout the mist carrying the bright, blinding flashes. And finally, she threw the kusarigami forwards through the use of the Silent Killing technique towards Julianna's form.

Well that was initially annoying as her technique wouldn't activate immediately but would instead be delayed a bit fortunately before Gado gave her a warning it was able to coalesce into the Hidden Frost which would have the beneficial effect of slowing down the approaching Zakiyoshi. She was also fortunate that Gado was able to put himself in-between the swiftly approaching opponent who's attacks she could only perceive thanks to his sensory capabilities. It was thus only through that she was able to notice Kotone's approach and then sudden stop and only instincts born from combat that caused him to punch out with Glacier Straight. This could stretch out for 8 feet and have the effect of not only overpowering the water chain-sickle hurtling towards her but actually freezing it back to it's source before exploding outwards to pelt Kotone with ice. It was a high use of chakra but Juliana knew that the real way she would win this fight wasn't through combat but actually just outlasting them and as such she would run backwards trying to increase the distance between her and her opponents trying to buy time for them to suffer from the effects of the Hidden Frost.

PostSubject: Re: Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4   Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Icon_minitime8th July 2020, 11:28 am

A confused look appeared on her face as she noticed that the other person not only didn't fall for her diversion but was also able to track her effortlessly within the mist. How? Who knew but it was obvious that he was just as formidable as the prodigy he had on his team which made this even more of a hassle considering the Toketsu was now able to get off her jutsu from earlier. Time for plan B I guess, she thought to herself before following through with her attack, but the moment her blade came in contact with Gado's bone she would cross her legs and in an attempt to parry the bone that she came in contact with she would cross her legs which would end up causing her to stumble, trip and teether upwards in an arc. Before landing, however, she would run her thumb across her blade and summoned Vivaan. With Diana directing him Vivaan would immediately spit out chakra infused water in towards both Julianna and Gado with the aim of trapping them in place. He wasn't finished there, however, as he would also spitting out a large surge of sickly greywater as a backup plan. Landing behind the Zakiyoshi, Diana would sheath her sword before performing a series of seals and creating a light mirror before Julianna which would cause her attack aimed at Zakisyoshi to be reflected and rebounded.

Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4   Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Icon_minitime4th August 2020, 4:34 pm

It was getting more and more difficult to beat this group, the added stress wasn't something that Gado appreciated. However, at the very least,  he was prepared to a certain degree with how he interacted with his team member. First off, Gado was able to close his eyes in time due to the fact that psionic navigation took the place of B rank reaction tiers. But there was honestly too much happening at the time being that Gado could deal with on his own. He needed firepower, and dances weren't going to cut it this time around.

"i was planning on saving this move in case of an emergency, but looks like I'll need to use it."

Gado said this through the mental link as he continued to position himself in front of his companion and activated his dojutsu. Once the nature eye was activated, Gado paid an A rank blood price and two orbs began to rotate around him like he was a solar system. After that, one of them would flick itself into the direction of the two attacks.  A series of things would happen with the interaction of that orb, besides the fact that it was moving at S rank blinding light speeds. It was moving in direction of the attacks of the water wield, water attacks, and the inevitable knockback attack. But this time, Gado did not use his dojutsu to lock their chakra signatures in.

For starters, The syrup starch would have been shifted into limbo upon contact with the orb, effectively eliminating the technique and the orb continuing its trajectory.  This happened because  Solvent-based adhesives, including the syrup starch that was omnipresent within the jutsu, was organic-based. However, it appeared that the syrup wasn't actual syrup, so Gado channeled chakra to his feet as the wave approached, just in case if he needed to walk on it. He was panicking and scared when it came to large bodies of water, he almost drowned due to being tossed in by Kozzen. Poisons are often organic compounds as well, so that would also be the downfall of the poison technique, with the bodies of water simply vanishing as they shifted into limbo at S rank speeds.  Due to it being a spiritually based attack vs a hybrid base attack,  it would have been treated as two ranks lower in the clash against the reflected glacier fist, overpowering the ice and moving on.  Since ice is inorganic, it didn't get shifted, but it wouldn't matter anyway.  After that,  it would clash against the physical a rank slicing meld and continue on in kotone's direction at S rank speeds.

"i need to be careful with that jutsu, it can really kill someone if I'm careless. "

Paid A rank blood price

PostSubject: Re: Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4   Chunin Exam Finals: Round 1: Fight 4 Icon_minitime4th August 2020, 5:45 pm

Kotone was prepared, and she knew Juliana wasn't going to hold back, already beginning her shift to Hydrification state ready. She recalled how powerful a physical attacker she was, and the Hydri state was perfect for this. And the assistance of her team mate, both unexpected and helpful, as she was also able to break down her water weapon before it reached her again, sweeping the water back and drawing it back to the vial it came from. With only a little mental work. And hopefully her enemies wouldn't notice how the Lightning didn't seem to actually do anything. She was however rather surprised to see what Gado was pulling out next, a technique she was mildly aware of due to her own lineage, but one she had chosen not to pursue. Why would she give up her pretty blue eyes after all. Though it wasn't like she had much of a choice, it was far too fast and she had to just brace herself as by that point her body was shifted to water with a speed increase from her own dojutsu activating. The nature of that technique pretty much saving her.

"If we're throwing out ultimate techniques..." She muttered aloud, needing to really focus for this. She was taught a technique, a secret technique, one that would ensure victory, but in a friendly match it required real focus. Or... well things could get messy. And their opponents were in just the right spot. A little short term blast, it'd damage them but shouldn't have any lasting effects, just... cause a lot of hurt. Digging deep she found the chakra, filled it with her own energy and self control, and picked her target. "Cover me Diana, they want an ultimate technique... I got one. Sinful Lotus!" Somewhere in the crowd she knew her teachers in the clan would be pissed, but this was a serious match she had no intent on losing. With focus she would take away the lethality of the technique, and launch the vapour finding the central target, before suddenly expanding in the powerful Corrosive explosion centered on the two opponents. Juliana was a heavy hitter, and the other one had enormous defences, with the Sinful Lotus she could get them both out.

Juliana would quickly have to adapt to the rapidly changing circumstances as her counter attack was countered by Diana and she was already making the hand seals necessary to take her out of the situation she found herself in seeing as she was adhered to the syrupy water. Fortunately for her Gado was there yet again to save their asses, unfortunately the escalation of force was a real thing and she would immediately raise up her hand before shouting. "I forfeit!" Juliana said hoping and praying that someone would come and get her before she was bathed in corrosive vapor. She didn't have a defensive technique that could get her through such a thing, as while she had plenty of offensive power, she had always been lacking on the defensive options.

Diana watched from where she landed as Kotone fired off something that was quite impressive. So impressive that it forced Julianna to forfeit the match and quite frankly, she didn't blame her as the position she was in wasn't favorable at all. Exhaling, she would deactivate her Raidegan before stepping next to her teammate. "You're all alone kid. You might be tough but I doubt you'll be able to beat both of us at once. So just forfeit the match so we can move on." She stated before picking up Vivaan and placing him on top of her. She was over this whole exam thing and just wanted to go back to Praise, but if he wanted to fight then she'd cut him down.

Due to having his dojutsu active and feeling the generation of chakra, Gado was able to phase away due to being a soulless and teleporting. However, It seemed that his partner decided to call it quits.

"....."

Ok, maybe that's fair. It was too much, and there are plenty of reasons why she would want to give up. Safety is first, and if he couldn't protect his partner, then maybe it's best to give up? The ball started to slow down with its rotation before ultimately diminishing.

"You win, I surrender. "

That's all he said before he walked off the stage. He didn't want to show them how frustrated he was, even though he had low expectations. This is all Kozzen's fault, he thought. But at the same time, he knew this wasn't true either. He only had himself to blame.

Kotone actually let out a sigh of relief as the two opponents all but forfeited. Albeit one after managing to phase around and outside of her technique, but Juliana avoided straight by forfeiting. She stood up, shaking herself down, catching her breath. The Sinful Lotus was powerful but it really took it out of her. Resetting her body to it's natural state to recover, she shared a look with her current team mate and flashed a wide and pleased grin. But then her opponents had her focus, and she hurried over to them. "That was awesome! I really didn't think I'd have to pull out that technique but... you both nearly had me at least. It was an amazing honour and experience to fight you both," And with that same wide smile and bowed deeply out of respect for them both.
