Shogunate Meet Topic - Blades

Cyrus entered the housing area, having already passed the dorms where the main explosion had occurred. He had wanted to help but the Shogunate shinobi seemed to have it mostly under control. The fact of the matter was it was hard to tell where the enemies were or where the fighting was the thickest. This wasn't an all out war he could just jump into, this was a game of shadows. It frustrated Cyrus beyond belief, but all he could do was obey the Shogun's commands and meet him in the housing district. Hopefully the newly appointed Blades would be along shortly as well, though Cyrus pondered their allegiance. It wouldn't be surprising if at least one of them had only sworn to be a Blade for the weapon and title. Cyrus would make sure that if any of them stepped out of line or deserted, they wouldn't make it out of the academy.

Ruby was sitting on top of the roof of the building that the rest of the Blades were supposed to meet up, contrary to Diamond's orders he had stayed if only to deliver something to the current Blades, his personal mission was after all complete, he had only joined to gain info of their weapons and during his instruction before he settled for Samehada he had utilized and awakened every single one of the Blades after all it was part of his training for him to be the eventual leader of the group. But then he met Diamond and things had changed, she had opened his eyes to the true purpose and he refused to be the tool of the West Empire, she had encouraged him to seek other things, and that had led him to Sapphire's love. For that he was eternally grateful, despite that, he felt he at least deserved to give something back and test the current generation of the Blades after all he wanted to learn more about them, just a bit before he left.

Samehada would crone softly knowing Ruby's intentions it was rather mournful as it wanted to come with him but it understood that it was impossible and would probably be forced to undergo another sleeping spell once it changed hands. He would twirl Ryujin in his index finger before spotting Cyrus a distance away preferring to instead wait for him to arrive before making his move.

Kyoshiro had just recently went with one of the Shogunate Shinobi after having managed to get his brother and a fellow Haka Nin off the hook from the blame of the explosion. Now he was being escorted to meet the Shogun in order to assist in the investigation of the explosions. He had volunteered his own skills to this process, his clan being one of the best trackers the Shinobi world knew of. Sure, Kurogane didn't normally have fancy techniques, but their base animalistic senses could track almost anything, as there were various ways to track using basic senses. One would need to cover multiple trails in order to trick their senses.

Kyoshiro was being led to the dorms where he saw this one kid standing around. His nose easily caught the scent of another guy, leading Kyoshiro's eyes to the roof where one of the prodigies had been. A prodigy and a kid from the exams who was now donning a flak jacket that some Tokubetsu Jonin wore. He must have passed the exams and requested a change of rank. But what was most unique about the two boys were the weapons they carried. Kyoshiro had heard a little about the special blades that the Shogun gave to his most trusted, but he only knew of their appearance and not what they were capable of. This was interesting, having two Blades in a single area.

At last Rika arrived at the Academy she hadn't seen in several years. She had learned almost everything she knew here, and now it was in ruins. It wasn't saddening to see it in this condition though, a part of her always disliked the academy, she was unhappy with the life of a shinobi and it was the place that had started her down that path, so she felt it held some of the blame. She was here to meet with other shogunates, and more importantly the other blades to try to figure out a way to quell the rebellion and aid the shogun in the revolution as much as possible. From here she would plan out her course of action and work it around her personal desires as well in order to handle all her future plans smoothly.

Rika herself was adorned a little differently from usual, she was wearing a very traditional kimono, black with a purple flower pattern on it. On her face she wore Kitsune no Shidare, the white fox mask that was actually her living weapon as a yoroi. At her side, prominently on display, unlike the usual where she keeps the blade hidden, was Nuibari in it's awakened form. Rika made her way through the housing section of the Academy and in the distance saw what looked like an allied shinobi. Drawing closer she saw that he was a blonde shogunate shinobi, and with him she recognized Kubikiribocho, one of the more well-known of the Blade's swords. She drew up alongside him and stood there in silence, averting her gaze to the distance, most of her features hidden by her mask, although her long purple hair could still be seen. She kept her hands at her side, one of her fingers fondling Nuibari, always ready, always aware.

Rainer rolled his neck a bit sighing. His mind was still in a state of dismay concerning everything that had happened recently. His flak jacket seemed to work out perfectly. On the young boy was five swords in total. Four of which were of similar length, one out of those four was without a sheathe and far more ornate in design then the other three. The fifth blade was easily recognizable as Hiramekarei, and it rested on his back while the other four were at his side. Two to each side of course. Recognizing Cyrus from the meeting with the shogun earlier, the par made their way to him. Standing near, but giving him his space, especially with the young girl he didn't recognize, or what he assumed was a girl. Konrad was noticeably bigger than before, and had a trick or two to show them now. With his own flak jacket, the wolverine seemed to find himself fiddling with the many pockets when he could.

Rainer wasn't sure of his decision. He'd done what most would call a betrayal. His clan, and his village had taken up arms against the Shogun, and here he stood siding with their enemy. All he really wanted was for his clan to be safe. He knew that the alliances that had been made to fight the Shogun would only last so long. How long was it until they fell through after they'd finished with the Shogun? How long was it until he found one of his kin dead at the hand of their once allies? He felt this was more definite, he felt this was needed. If they were united in the first place, TRUELY united, this would never have happened. There would be no Shogun. Or at least that's what he thought.

The clashing of metal against metal cried out throughout the academy. The skies above were being clouded by smoke from the large fires created from the explosions that happened earlier, the smoke looked like a black towers as they climbed up into the air. Haru was on his way to a meeting. On the way there he watched the fighting and destruction between the forces of the Shogun and the invading forces of his village and Ibaragakure. His face was devoid of emotion as his eyes caught many Kaosgakure shinobi getting struck down. What was he supposed to do? The Mishura had sided against his village to become stronger, so...he shouldn't feel anything from this. Right? Right. I gave my word...

Continuing towards his destination, he had made sure to keep out of any big confrontations so he wouldn't be late. The air was beginning to smell of blood and smoke as he reached the housing district. Leaping off one of the buildings, he beget a light stroll towards Rainer and the others. His thoughts racing with each step. Debating his choice back and forth. Once, he got near Rainer on his left he would come to a halt. He wasn't really close to the guy, a distance of two or three feet separated them. Closing his eyes, he calmed his mind. This was way too much stress, which was bad in a time like this. Opening his eyes once more, he brought his left elbow to rest on the hilt of Kiba. Currently the twin blades were strapped to his lower back in an 'X' fashion. Now, what was going to go down...besides everything else that already went down.

Ruby would drop down from the roof landing about 15 feet away from the main group still spinning Ryujin around his index finger while Samehada would stop crooning on his back, he had a small smile on his face as he looked around to see that the number of Blades had grown a bit in the past couple of years. When he initially joined he only knew of Rika and Cyrus, and another person named Genso but it didn't seem like he was here, makes sense Diamond did mention she made sure he wouldn't ever be a shinobi ever again after they fought. Generally when she said things like that, it meant it was true, before any of his former allies would jump to attack him, unlikely unless they knew that all of the Prodigies had gone Rouge, which most likely wasn't common knowledge after all, they had escaped during this confusion and bar the Shogun himself telling them directly, it was doubtful they knew.

5 Members strong, last time we've all been gathered in one place..hmm actually no I don't believe we've ever been gathered in one place. Pity, would of liked to get to know you, Cyrus how's Kubikiri treating you I hope she isn't being a pain, and I see you've awakened Nuibari Rika, that's good she was such a bother to wake up when I had her. I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting the current Weilder of Kiba, don't worry he isn't as tempermental as the others just as long as you try not to keep him in his original state for too long. While it would seem you got Hira, my second favorite after Samehada, when you wake him up you'll be in for a real treat. Ruby said addressing them one by one before removing Samehada from his back and placing her on the ground. She would then slither about five feet away from him before standing on her hilt and launching herself into the air before the weight of her blade weight down first so that she would plant herself in the ground and falling partially asleep once more.

So with that, I'm handing in my resignation letter, it's been fun but I've learned everything I needed to know about each of the Blades, not you lot of course, but the Blades themselves and I think...my current weapon is still far superior. Ruby said before he would suddenly stop spinning Ryujin instead grabbing it in his palm causing it to grow in length as it woke up. So I was thinking before I left, I should test my current weapon against anyone who wished, as a final bow of sorts. Any takers, if not I'll be on my merry way. he said his smile turning predatory as this was one of the rare moments when he was actually serious.

Kyoshiro raised his eyebrows at the crowd gathering around them. He didn't like it and wasn't sure what to make of it. It wasn't until Ruby started speaking that Kyoshiro got a little curious as to what was going on. It seemed all five of these guys were Blades of the Shogun. What an interesting predicament for him to come across. But then something unexpected occurred, Ruby resigned and left Samehada. He did not see that coming. When the young man asked if anyone wished to combat the guy, Kyoshiro was very keen to decline. "As interesting as your offer is... I'm not a Blade, and after fighting Topaz I can already tell you and your kin are much stronger than I. I wouldn't mind a little spar but there is no doubt I'd be creamed right away. Even with the little help that Topaz assisted me with unknowingly..." said Kyoshiro, his hand reaching for his upper back where his Qurupeco birthmark was. He considered fighting this dude and getting his ass kicked, but it wouldn't help him achieve a new state, for he had yet to master the first stage yet. Instead, Kyoshiro looked at the shinobi that had led him here who was no longer going any further and decided it would be a nice chance to relax. So, Kyoshiro took himself a seat on a nearby bench and rubbed his belly. Though he had just eaten, he was beginning to get hungry again.

After Rika arrived a few more Blades did as well, she didn't recognize them, but it seemed they had been newly recruited, likely by the shogun himself since the revolution started. What she found interesting however was the arrival of an old time Blade named Ruby, the wielder of Samehada. As far as Rika knew, he was most likely the strongest of the blades. As Ruby spoke, Rika listened to everything he had to say about each of the present blades, and it seemed he had another weapon she had not seen before, how odd. At last Ruby spoke of resignation, and wanting to test him and his weapons ability against the blades, which slightly ticked her off. "So that is it... You waste my time, perhaps I should go where I will be of more use, because playing in your childish game doesn't interest me whatsoever." she said coldly. No one there was as strong as Ruby, what was the point. As they spoke, allies to the shogun were dying and important meetings were being held and Rika felt this was a waste of time. "I only ask you resign Samehada." she said at last, she had no intention of fighting Ruby, even if she was strong enough to do so she wouldn't.

Cyrus looked at the sword Ruby dropped before looking around at the other faces. The two new recruits had made it, plus a girl who he had only heard of but never seen who must be Rika Ryuude. There was a third boy he didn't recognize, but assumed he too must be here to pledge allegiance to the Shogun and garner a Blade position. So at the outbreak of war...you're resigning huh? Cyrus asked, rather suspicious of Ruby's intentions. It mattered little, the prodigies were on a whole other level and whatever their plan was, whether individually or as a group, it would almost certainly work. Cyrus sighed, Well, as tempted as I am to take you up on your sparring offer, and believe me I am, you would destroy me at my current level. With that, I have a proposition. Cyrus looked towards Samahada, thinking about how great of a fit that would be for him and his shark contract. The sword would be an invaluable tool, not that his own Butcher's Blade wasn't already a great weapon, but Samahada...You allow me to take Samahada, train, and I'll come looking for you. When we're both ready, then we'll have our spar and I'll really push that new sword of yours to the limit. Deal? Cyrus held out his hand for a shake to seal the deal, he wasn't only eager to possibly get Samahada, but to have a potentially new rival among the prodigies as well.

Haru's eyes would latch upon the stranger as he dropped off the roof. He noticed the rather unique blades he wielded and from that assumed him to be a blade. Which was true. The dude knew the girl and Cyrus, and apparently had at some time utilized all of the blades to the point of memorizing their abilities. Quite the skill for one guy. Then what caught his attention was his resignation. Someone with firsthand knowledge on all the blades and their awakened states was just...going to leave? Just like that? On top of that, right at the beginning of war when he is needed most. Whats up with this guy? He isn't even giving a real reason for his resignation. Haru's expression turned to one of suspicion as he eyed the now ex-Blade. It just didn't seem logical for someone loyal to the Shogun, to just up and quit. Now, his challenge to see how his own blade faired against anyone of them. So far, the others had declined and Haru was along with them. He didn't feel in the mood to fight at the moment. Maybe thats what he needed to take his mind off if he made the right choice or not but he didn't.  He thought he was sure and thats all he needed for the moment.  So instead of fighting him, he'd try to pry more information on his his reason for leaving. "I'm not in the mood to spar due to whats going on around us.  But you could explain something to me. Why you are suddenly choosing to leave now of all times?" The Mishura didn't really care because he wasn't close to the guy at all. But it was best to know if someone isgoing to be your enemy next time you see them.

Konrad and Rainer ignored the boy, not knowing or caring who he was. They figured by the fact he had one of the blades he was the deserter, but it was none of his concern seeing as Cyrus had it under control. Rainer yawned a bit and rested his hand against his hilts. He then began to think on his position with his village. Would they see him as a trader? Would they kill him on sight? Would they even listen to his side of the story? Who was he kidding himself, this was war. Though he looked rather old for his age, he was still far too young, and naive it seemed. Though he had to try, peace was worth it for his clan right? He yawned again, this time almost forcibly. As if it would clear his mind, though nothing truely would at this point. Maybe the warm embrace of his mother, or her drunken rambles. What he wouldn't give to be back home, even if it was for one final time. He yawned a third time, this time to hide the truth. A tear trickled down his face, and it was the only one he'd shed this day.

Kyoshiro watched as one by one the guys and gal declined the offer of the challenge. It was a bit annoying being apart of the crowd. Kyoshiro couldn't help himself as he rubbed the back of his head. "On second thought... If none of these guys won't then I guess I will. I may not be a Blade but I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of what your capable of myself. Topaz already knows my skill, and last i checked all you guys were buds so my skill would be known by you soon enough anyways. Might as well test your skill level while I'm at it," he said as he stepped in front of the others. He took a deep breath then looked back at the group. "Listen, I know you don't know me or owe me and are probably stronger than I, but if you wouldn't mind going and fetching a medic for me to begin with, as well as staying a large radius away from this point it would be quite helpful." After making his request Kyoshiro then twitched his fingers. The guy had a nasty blade and Kyoshiro was weaponless. He glanced down at the sword the boy had tossed aside. It wasn't really his style, a bit too large for his young body, but if he could get to it he might stand a small chance to last a little longer compared to going in weaponless.

Hmmm the young blood wants to cross blades with me huh. Meh take Same, but this kid here, he has spunk, how about it, you pick up Kubikiri and I'll face you. Besides I have a bit of time to kill before old man gets here anyways. Him seeing my resignation, not a pretty sight, I'd like to leave with all my limbs attached and not so many bruises. As for why I'm leaving how about this, if the kid can scratch me, just once I'll tell you guys something interesting something that might just put this...war in your favor. Otherwise, meh. Ruby said waiting for Cyrus to comply and give the Kid Kubikiri while Ryujin would pulse a bit, he tap each of the spheres on Ryuujin once causing it to hum with energy and fall into a lose combat position. He figured dodging their questions would make them edgy, and Rika always seemed to be the rule abiding type so he figured ignoring her completely would provoke her to attack, if not oh well he was itching to start trouble anyways. Or maybe he wasn't and this was a ploy as well who knows.

Cyrus eyed Ruby warily before stepping over towards Kyoshiro, taking the massive butcher's blade off of his back. I faced him once, a long time ago. He's an Xeres I think, a skilled swordsman, and a master of barrier ninjutsu. Be careful and take care of the sword, it's a wonderful weapon, just not my style. With that, Cyrus flipped the blade over, catching it on the opposite side of the blade where it wasn't sharp, the handle pointing directly at Kyoshiro. Once Kyoshiro took the blade, Cyrus would walk over towards Samahada and inspect the sword before placing his hand on the hilt and attempting to pull it out of the ground, Looks like you're mine now friend, or should I say, I'm yours? Cyrus chuckled, I have a feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. A sword made of shark skin for the future shark sage. Cyrus smiled widely, holding the sword up in the afternoon sun to look at it in all of it's glory. Next time we meet Ruby, I promise you Samahada won't even remember you. I'm going to show it power you could never even dream of, you can bet on that.

Kimiko finally awoke from her slight stupor, still taking in all that happened. She had already adorned her new flak jacket over her black garment and spoke to the Shogun. She told him her ambition to become a medical ninja and enhance her own prowess. He gave a subtle suggestion about a grand position in the blades which would help her down the path. She thought it over... She wanted to protect everyone and be a role model... She would go to where the Shogun said the Blades would gather and made her way there. This was it, her chance to amount to something.

After a while of stumbling through the chaos of the academy should eventually find Ruby and the rest of the Blades. She was nervous now that she thought about it... What would she say to this group... She would hold her broken sword and bring it to her chest as she approached the group. Shogun-sama mentioned Shibuki and that i should come here... I am Kimiko Verin and i am here to join this group! Nice to meet you all! She would mutter aloud just as she noticed Ruby in a fighting position and backed off herself, she heard of how he fought and didn't want to be in the middle of it. Snap now she didn't know what to think... She didn't want to seem like an enemy so just kept hugging her swords instead of going gen mode on the area. She just looked a little on edge and waited.

Eh, a deal? Nobody was ever direct about anything anymore. Haru thought as he let out a sigh. A bet basically, with the stakes relying on someone whom Haru didn't really recognize. Maybe he saw him during the exams or something. If the dude could scratch him then he would spill some information that would be helpful to them. Wasn't there a war going on? The Mishura wasn't really approving of this but whatever he couldn't stop them. Heck, he didn't even really know any of them. So why should he care? He'd turn his attention to kiba, admiring the work of the blade. Also, he wondered exactly how kiba was as a partner. The ex-blade had said earlier that kiba didn't like to be in it's unawakened form for to long. How was he going to go about waking up Kiba anyway. Hmm...

At that moment, he noticed someone walking near the group. To his surprise, it was Kimiko, the one he lost to in the semifinals of the exams. What was she doing here? Then he heard her announce herself as well as her joining the Blades. Wow, so many new members in such a short time span. As she began to back off, Haru would give a small wave towards his rival. He didn't forget what he said during the exams. It seemed this whole blades thing was cooling his mind some from his uncertainty and guilt.

Konrad alerted Rainer to the new arrival, and he recalled the name very vaguely as she spoke it. She was his planned opponent during the exams. The match he was unable to make it to due to...circumstances. Rainer and Konrad patted Haru, not sure if he heard the boy's request or not. Kid asked for space. Is all he'd say as he moved a bit away, staying well within earshot. He honestly didn't care about either this Ruby, or Kimiko. Hell if this boy's blood was spilled in front of him he knew he wouldn't shed a tier for the stupid bastard. What had come over him? He felt a rage inside of himself, that was unfamiliar. He'd had to deal with rage his whole life, but this rage was different. Just be quick about it. He said to Ruby and the boy who's name he couldn't remember. His voice carried a bit of anger, and hatred with it. To say he was spitting venom would not be to far from the truth. And yet he could not understand why.

Rika observed everyone's responses to Ruby. It seemed Cyrus wanted Samehada, it amused her how easily they gave up their old weapons for ones they deemed to be better. She felt bad for the sword but oh well, it would likely find an owner that loved it eventually. Rika rarely spoke to Nuibari as if it wasn't an object, but she knew it's presence was more than that of a simple weapon, she was a yoroi, if anyone understood living weapons it was her. It was then that Ruby said something that caught Rika's attention, if they lay a scratch on him he would give them information to help in the war, that... was a deal breaker. "I see... if that is the case I will challenge you if this boy fails. I am not powerful right now but I'm desperate for our cause. I hope my fellow Blade can understand that." she said, adding the last part because she was skeptical of the other Blade's loyalty. "In the meantime I will ensure you two do not get interrupted... Good luck, Kyoshiro was it?" she said. From standing position Rika drew Nuibari and and began throwing it through the area, piercing walls and anything she saw before pulling the blade back to her and continuing until there was a large field of wires set up in the shape of an octagon. From here she would strum the wire continuously to use the echolocation and would be able to sense anyone coming long before they reached Ruby and Kyoshiro.

Ruby would smile before suddenly pausing as if he was getting information from someone before suddenly paling as his eyes widened. On second note, nevermind it seems the old-man is on his way but then again Rika probably knew that. Though since I'm nice and all I leave you the information anyways. Ruby said before removing a small scroll from his pocket and tossing it into the air as Diamond's Null Cloak would manifest around his body. It would conceal him completely and he would vanish just as the scroll was flung into the air, it was only a second later that Rika would be able to sense that someone was coming mainly due to the range of Nuibari. The Shogun's guards would remove the wire strung around with co-ordinate cubes to seal them away as the Shogun made his way to the Blades.

He would pause for a moment looking at each of them before continuing having noticed Cyrus being with a blade that wasn't his original. I take it you, ran into Ruby. That is the only explaination for Samehada being here. It would also seem that one of you here isn't actually a blade, tell me young one...do you wish to join up as well. he said turning to gaze at Kyoshiro waiting for his reply before actually going ahead to brief his Blades. He had delayed his arrival so that he could make sure that things were going well the reinforcements from the West Empire had arrived thankfully so the small pockets of rebellion had been dealt with bringing the attack on the Academy to a close. Still this was only the beginning and death and destruction was still present, it would take some time to fix, the main reason he had called this meeting was to gather his Blades to arms and to discuss war strategy while debriefing them on the full situation.

Ruby's Scroll

Ruby decided to leave, and he left a scroll. Rika snatched it up quickly and opened it, reading it over carefully. Her eyes widened as she realized what it was, but she kept it to herself for now, as she felt the presence of the shogun, she would give it to him before letting the other Blades see it, and allow him to decide what to do with the information. As he drew near, she let her wires go limp, cutting them off from Nuibari, so the co-ordinate cubes were uneccessary. She hope the other Blades wouldn't get angry at her taking the scroll, but she simply felt it was better for the Shoguns eyes then public knowledge, of course she figured he would give them all the information anyways. One thing caught Rika's attention, a young girl arrived on the scene that she didn't recognize as a blade, interesting... Something about the girl was different, she was surely different from most of the shinobi in the area.

Rika took her mind off the girl for now, there was more pressing matters at hand. As the shogun arrive she knelt slightly and bowed her head in respect. "Welcome Goshujin-Sama... you barely missed Ruby, he has... resigned." she said to him, her head still bowed. As she stood back up she looked at him and held out the scroll. "He left this, I thought it best you look over it first, forgive me for reading it, It may be information I should not have." she said to him. She really hated having to be so formal, but when it came to blades business she felt she had to be as responsible and businesslike as possible. Besides, she admired the shogun slightly, he had a very charismatic presence, a likely indicator of how he reached his position in the first place.

Kyoshiro was getting anxious but when things transpired and he was handed the blade that Cyrus possessed he kinda felt a bit relieved. It was a very interesting weapon in his grasp. He wasn't sure what it did but somehow it felt right. When Ruby tossed the scroll up for them to get and Rika grabbed it, Kyoshiro couldn't help himself. Curiosity got the better of him and at crashing ground speeds he silently went around and peered over her shoulder to read the scroll. Then the Shogun appeared and had addressed Kyoshiro himself.

Kyoshiro bit his lip as he stepped out from behind Rika. "Umm... I had not planned on joining your Blades. I was mainly brought here by your shinobi because I had offered my help in tracking down those behind the explosions. I am of the Kurogane clan and we are one of the most adapt at tracking things down. We have noses better than a Deviljo. But..." Kyoshiro looked back at the scroll in Rika's hand and then at the blade that Cyrus had handed him. "But if not joining means I have to give up this beautiful blade... Well, I'll join because this thing seems to make my blood boil with anticipation."

Kimiko just stood silently in place as she really didn't have much to say. The so called fight would die as easily as it had started as it would seem Ruby left them with some vital information. The other blade that Ruby had addressed as Rika had caught the scroll and looked it owner with only shock in her eyes... Kimiko was still nervous about the situation but than the Shogun arrived. All was happening so fast it was getting quite intense. She walked closer and waited next to the others, she would wait till she was addressed. It would be rude to just draw attention to herself, she already introduced herself what else was she expected to do. She kept hugging what was left for her sword, just trying to think of things to say.

The Shogun would accept the scroll before smiling softly as he always liked Rika, she was after all the most respectful out of his Blades, the news of Ruby's defection did not surprise him after all that was part of the reason he had called this meeting in the first place. He would open the scroll however and his facial expression would change from a smile into a somber look, he could not afford the Bijuu's being involved in this war, over the years he had systematically tracked down and killed Jinchuriki, they were too volatile and their war potential was to great to leave unchecked.
