LizardFolk Burrow

OphiJ'Tali was rather happy with what she got out of the bladed rabbit. She would need progress to be more accurate next time, but as she affixed the new helmet to her. She glanced over as one of the other evolved lizards were calling for a rally. After their encounter with the Bears, she could understand that. That night she would clap Zarbyoshi on the shoulder, "Save a spot for me in the morning," smiled, and left to find Zardtenor. This burning needed to stop and Zwardtenor was causing it. She needed... Something. She didn't know what. But she was going to solve it.

Goings on:

Hmm. Yoshi mused to himself, thinking it over. On the one hand he could simply follow Rex and attack him. The new power Yoshi possessed would surely be enough to defeat him. On the other hand, what did it prove when a stronger opponent was picking on a weaker one? Not to mention, Rex had never actually done him wrong. Sure he had been a jerk, but Yoshi had irritated him first. No, for now Rex was free to go, but Yoshi would find some way to convince him. This lone wolf style would only last him so long. Right then, Yoshi said, turning to his new recruits, First lesson, you all need to learn how to regularly collect food. I’ll take the first three, Snow will take the other two and we’ll switch. You’ll be learning how to carve for useful materials from me, while ZwardSnow will teach you how to forage for plants and fruits. If you can’t find food, you’re already dead. After that, we’ll do some sparring to see where you’re at with combat.

going deeper into the cave zwardj'tali would find zwardtenor who seemed to be communicating with the inferior lizard, well not much communicating rather much more touching of the inferior lizard on her stomach and necks with his hands. however that would change as the lizard would see zardj'tali and quickly storm away, her face as blushed as a lizardfolk could get. zwardtenor would wave his hands swiftly in a defensive manner before ophij'tali would put the loving down on him for the next two hours before going to sleep.

Even though sparring with zardrex would've been a learning experience for him, it wouldn't help those of his faction as they could only learn by doing. Thus when he broke them up into groups to learn he would notice that zardrap had an aptitude for learning carve which he picked up right away, however he was the only one to learn a skill which left the rest of the group a bit disappointed. He was a star, or at least believed he should be; hoping to draw the praise and recognition from zwardsnow. During the spars they would go smoothly, well as smoothly as they could go with out food to sustain their hunger after all the training.

Zarbyoshi:

Hmm...well, a bit disappointing, but there's always tomorrow and the spars went well. Yoshi said to his collected Zards. The poor bastards looked damn near ready to collapse from exhaustion. Yoshi was just glad to see Ursa hadn't eaten the one he had been paired with. Except for Zardrap, he picked up your carve skill rather quickly. Snow said, much to the delight of Rap. Good point, he's a quick learner. Yoshi said as he went over to his nest and pulled out the Night Cobra meat from the night before. He tossed it in the center of the zards and said, I was going to take you all out hunting with us tonight, but you earned a break. First meal is on the house, but you'll be fighting for your next ones. Eat and rest up, we'll be back in the morning. Yoshi said as the little Zards dove into the meat before them, happily and hungrily tearing flesh from bone. Wet, slurping noises echoed across the cavern and Yoshi smiled, not at the cute scene before him, but at the thought that he was showing the whole burrow what awaited them if they chose to follow him. No Zard worth his keep would go hungry as long as he followed Yoshi.

With that, Yoshi would collect his things and head out into the afternoon air. The sun would be close to setting by the time they got anywhere, but that was fine. He was hoping for a rematch with one of those cobras, or rather a recarve. Ursa and Snow trailed him, but not before Ursa looked back at the happy Zards eating the meat he believed should have been rightfully his. Come on ya big lug. There's plenty more where we're going. Ursa turned back to the opening of the burrow with an annoyed growl.

Night approached as Hatta and Fae dragged the corpses into their home. They made it to their little corner of the burrow and plopped the monkey's down. Fae showed some excitement as her previous attempts to learn carve had failed but this time she felt lucky. ZardHatta prepped himself as he was still a novice at this. He would take his time. He wanted to use the bone to make some sort of weapon. Possibly some armor from the hide. Who knows. Fae would watch curiously and attempt to follow Hatta's Carve technique after seeing it for herself.

OOC: Teaching Carve to Fae. She's using her E- luck for the skill roll, Think all together that's a +3 to the roll? Doing a slow carve on the two yellow monkey bodies for an hour.

Unfortunately, it seemed Fae wasn't cut out for this line of work. She simply didn't understand what Zardhatta was doing or even why. She found the whole process rather revolting truth be told. Fortunately for Zardhatta, it seemed he was quickly gaining in experience with the carve skill, learning the ins and outs and how to make the best of a fresh kill. When Zardhatta was finally done, he had not only a relatively sturdy looking femur club, but a slick new yellow monkey loincloth to compliment it. They weren't the most amazing pieces of equipment, considering the creatures they were coming from, but they were his and any small advantage in this world could mean the difference between life and death.

ZardHatta let out a sigh as Fae was simply not getting it. He put up his bounty and held the club close. He passed the Loincloth to Fae and she looked a bit disappointed but carving wasn't for her it seemed. "Hey.I'm cold. ZardGrammy told me about a neat trick to keep us warm. Come help me. I've never tried it before..." Hatta was getting tired for the day but he wanted to accomplish something impressive, he had only seen the adults using this skill! He got some fallen wood and leaves as well as two rocks. He urged Fae to do the same. "Now we bang them! And we should have fire!" Hatta smirked as he tried to get a fire going, he felt lucky about it. Fae tried as well. Making it into a small game to see who could get a flame going first.

OOC: Both are attempting to learn Firestarter, Hatta is using is E- (+2) Luck to get it done!

Zardhatta's eyes would flow with the warm reflection of flames. The pile would smoke and smolder until, quickly, a spark caught on one of the dried leaves. A small flame grew rapidly, spreading to the other leaves and wood. He'd need to act quickly if he wanted to keep this flame alive, for it was something so quickly lost, but he had done it. He had learned to make fire. Unfortunately, today was simply no Fae's day and try as she might, she just couldn't get the sparks to catch. Perhaps her leaves were too wet or she didn't have enough rocks. Whatever it was, she'd eventually throw her rocks down in bitter annoyance before turning to Hatta to watch what he did with his new fire.

ZardHatta was rather excited. He saw what that bear could do a couple days ago. He needed to be well skilled to survive. He danced around his fire, invigorated by the heat he looked over to Fae. He saw how she was down with her lack of fire. "It's alright! Tomorrow is another day!" She threw the sticks into his fire to feed it, not wanting to try any longer. "I want to fight you! For your fire!" She was clearly upset and leapt at Hatta and Hatta side step her. He knew talking himself out of the situation probably wouldn't be easy. Ok... Let's do this!" The two would then spar until their bodies could no longer go. Both avoided really hurting each other as they had already took a beating earlier but their wrestling would continue on until the fire went out. In the pitch of dark the two continued to wrestled and then. "Hey i thought we were supposed to be figh-!" Fae cut him off and the rest faded to black.

OOC: Spar and then libido training. If we get 200 chara exp, Fae will rank up. If she does she'll use her luck E- to influence her rank up.

Yoshi and his hunting party would enter the Lizard burrow in the middle of the night, finding most of the burrow sleeping, including his new followers who he had left with an empty belly. Tomorrow they would learn how to hunt on their own, but for today Yoshi had shown kindness to cement their relationship. After unloading the corpses the trio had collected, the three would split the bladed rabbit meat before settling in. Yoshi had initially wanted to carve the rabbit and two mantises when they returned, but a massive yawn and the realization that if he was sleepy he might get sloppy, were enough to settle him in next to Snow after grooming through the dirt and muck in Ursa's fur. The large cub licked him with thanks, settling in beside the lizards' nest.

[sleeping into Day 8]

After the spar, they would both feel tired and head to bed, upon waking up while Zardhatta would feel a new surge of strength due to surviving for another day he would turn to see that Zardfae was now larger than him with white scales just like a growing number of Lizardkin who had recently ranked up. She would likewise be further along in her pregnancy with rank-ups doing wonders for accelerating how fast a monster pregnancy would take before birth occurred. He would notice upon waking up that neither Zardrex nor Zardeggy were around, meanwhile Zardbion was just waking up and would be talking to his group of followers. Zardgrammy was snoring in a corner with the majority of Lizardkin either groggily waking up, still being asleep or currently were nowhere to be found. Cubursa seemed like he was still on good terms with his Zarbyoshi which if not for the constant attention and what not today might have been the day they parted ways, fortunately this wasn't the case for them.

Yoshi would wake, feeling new strength and energy coursing through his body. His claws seemed...different, somehow, more monstrous even. He flexed his hand before turning to his pregnant mate who had also awoken. Her muscle mass seemed smaller, her arms more frail. It seemed as he grew, she weakened, and thought Yoshi knew it was due to her inferior rank up compared to his, it still worried him some. He worried for the lizard growing within her, but that would be a conversation for another time. Giving Ursa a pat as he walked by, Yoshi's underlings would approach their new boss, having slept fitfully with full stomachs. Yoshi would greet them, Morning everyone, I hope you're ready to work. First though... Yoshi would say, reaching into the collection of locust made weapons and equipment. He'd produce the helmet and shield, handing the helmet to Zardtri and the shield to Zardcera. He held onto the stinger for the time being. This is all I have for now, but I have more creatures to take apart today. Those of you who didn't receive anything will be given more items when you return from your hunt today. Be safe, be smart, but aboveall else, be merciless.

With that, his troop of Zards would tentatively wander out into the forest beyond. He had instructed them to head East for the time being, a safer part of the forest for their first hunt. Meanwhile, Yoshi pulled over the two Mantis carcasses and Bladed Rabbit carcass. While he'd take his time on them, three hours on each, Snow and Ursa would begin training in the burrow alone. Snow would work on her Basic Block, while Ursa would actually practice swimming...which wasn't easy in the burrow, but the cub reflected on his time by the river and reminded himself of how to swim properly. He had apparently gained a small boost in intelligence recently and that seemed to help a bit.

Hunting Troop return in 8 Hours:

Zarbyoshi was actually doing quite good when it came to slowly carving this bunch of resources, perhaps he had learned that by properly taking his time he would manage to not fumble and both his mate and pet focused on their training in order to get better at doing things. Sure enough time would pass and it would be night time with the Hunting Troop returning with two corpses and looking at Zarbyoshi as if seeking his approval. Unfortunately it would be an hour before he would break his concentration to even look at them after which he would see that he had managed to perfectly carve the Blade from the Blade Rabbit Skull giving him a potentially usable sword, he'd also manage to carve one of the Poison Mantis' claws leaving him with a dangerous weapon that still bore remnants of the poison finally the last thing he managed to carve was the thorax of the other poison mantis it wasn't as good of a job but he had tried his best. Cubursa's stomach was rumbling and much to her embarrassment Zwardsnow was also quite hungry as they had waited for Zarbyoshi to finish before addressing the fact that they needed to eat.

Yoshi let out a long sigh as he finally finished with the monster carcasses, tossing them to the side. He rubbed his eyes, not realizing just how much time had passed since he had started working. Oh, you're back! Yoshi said with a smile to his minions. Not bad. He said, looking over the two Armored Tanuki carcasses. He noticed there was only enough meat for four of the zards. So, have you decided which of you will go without eating tonight? One of the pipsqueaks, Zardtor, spoke up then, I..erm...me. The others should eat. I'll be okay.

Yoshi nodded, indicating that the others should eat as well and the four other Zards dug in with abandon. He then hunkered down to Zardtor's size, There are no free meals here, but sacrifice for the greater good should never go without reward. He would then place the hunk of meat from the Locusts in Tor's hands. The zard's eyes would go wide, realizing the meat was all for him before nodding to Yoshi in thanks. He would waddle back to his brothers and sisters, chomping on the meat with obvious joy.

Sorry for taking so long. Looked like you two were busy. Yoshi said, going back to Snow and Ursa as Snow took out a chunk of humanoid meat and divided it equally among the three of them. Ursa seemed to practice...swimming. Snow said, to which Yoshi's eyes widened in mild confusion. He shrugged and began patting down the large cub, brushing dirt and dust out of his fur, Apparently some dirt swimming, eh? The three would sit down to a short meal with one another before Yoshi looked around the burrow for a Zard he had seen earlier. It seemed others had gained the attention of stronger Zards and were following them, just like Yoshi's brood. He would search for the Zard by the name of Bion. He didn't know the other Zard well, but relationships weren't the most important thing in this world when a mutually beneficial deal could be made.

If Bion and his brood were in fact in the burrow, Yoshi would finish his meal and grab another chunk of humanoid meat from their collection. He'd walk to Bion and hold up the meat, Bion, I have an idea. My mate is growing large with pregnancy, soon I won't want her endangering the child out in the forest. I need a hunting partner I can trust. We should combine our groups, hunt together. Yoshi would say, offering the chunk of meat as a peace offering or gift to seal the new deal. If possible, he'd love to combine forces under one banner rather than compete for dominance within the burrow. However, he wasn't beyond ripping out another Zard's throat to assert dominance and gain more followers. His rank up had made him more...violent.

Whether Bion was in the burrow or not, Yoshi would carve the two Armored Tanukis his minions had brought back, hoping to produce some armor for them before their hunt tomorrow. He'd take two hours on each before growing tired and joining Snow and Ursa in the nest.

(Start of Day 7)

ZardHatta would wake up with shining blue eyes in his face. "ZardHatta.... Guess who?" It was ZardFae. "It's me ZardFae. But I am now ZwardFae!" It seems all of her hard work had paid off after all. Yesterday's blunders disappeared from her mind completely. She was also a bit heftier as it seemed she was slightly showing. ZardHatta grinned at her. "Good job ZwardFae. You look so cool!" He had emphasized her new rank and wondered when his rank up may appear again. He denied it at first but now he was becoming more confident in what his future held. But he needed to be more savvy with his skills. The two of them headed around the burrow and looked to see everyone asleep. "We should practice some more! Then we can go test out your new skills in the forest!" Fae was curious on what she could do now too. The two of them would spend 5 hours training on some skills until noon.

OOC: 5 Hour Train on Hatta's Bite and ZwardFae's fancy new breath attack. Also She gets language exp whenever we talk?

Zardboin would raise an eyebrow at the offering of meat before being passed what seemed to be a rock with white crystals which he would hand out to Zarbyoshi. "I don't mind trading with you, we've been using these weird rocks to make our food last longer, turns out if you leave food out it rots but if you use this it can stay safe to eat for a while longer. As for allying together, I see that you ranked up and I respect that, but maybe after the tournament Zardgrammy has been muttering about. If you beat me, I'll join you. But if I beat you, we can still be neutral." Zardbion said with a slightly lazy tone before yawning as he had just woken up a few moments earlier. Those Lizardkin within his faction were actually milling about as he had gotten them used to his schedule, namely sleeping in the day time and only heading out at night, it was a dangerous but he felt that was the only way to get stronger. Meanwhile Zardhatta & Zwardfae's training went off without any issues with Zardhatta being able to max out Bite, though Zwardfae's new evolution had her gain a new breath and she spent time trying to harness it with some decent results. In comparison to Zardhatta's babbling her speech was actually now easier to understand it seemed that ranking up also had the benefit of strengthening her vocal chords and improved her ability to speak.

The two had trained without a hitch. It seems Zwardfae really was proficient with her throat as as they practiced she had used a frosty breath to freeze the rocks nearby the trees ZardHatta had been biting on. The two had decided enough training for the day. They needed to go and hunt! They were primed and ready and Hatta was chirped at them. "Quick hunt in the forest! and come back for more training!" ZwardFae nodded and patted ZardHatta on his head now that he was shorter then her. Slightly annoyed he let out a sigh and the two left the burrow.

[Morning Day 9]

Look at you! Was the first thing out of Yoshi's mouth when he awoke that morning, seeing Ursa the Hind Cub had evolved into Ursa the Hind Bear. He would scratch Ursa behind the ears, happy, but thinking about Bion's words from last night. Apparently there was a tournament of some sort in the near future. Yoshi wasn't necessarily worried, but certainly interested and he made a mental note to ask Grammy about it later. As his minions gathered for the day, Yoshi looked them all up and down, Good job yesterday, but today you'll be heading north. It's rocky there, a bit more difficult, but you need to get stronger faster. For those of you who didn't receive any gifts yesterday, here you go. Yoshi would proceed to hand the Armored Tanuki shell to Vel and the Poison Mantis Thorax to Rap. Turning to Tor, he presented the Bladed Rabbit Horn he had carved last night. It was a Tier II grade carve, far superior to anything the others had received, but Yoshi had taken an interest in Tor and, for the time being, saw him as the unofficial leader. All the Zards thanked him several times before scrambling out the den and onto their hunt.

Looking over their collection of times, Yoshi picked out the Tree branch, some flexible edible roots, and the Locust stinger. With the roots, he planned to tie the stinger to the end of the branch, creating a makeshift spear. With her shield and block capabilities, Yoshi figured a spear would be a great way to keep the monsters away from Snow and thus keep her and his child safe. He would spend at least four hours concentrating on making the spear as sharp and sturdy as possible. During that time, Snow would continue practicing her Tackle Skill and Ursa, dedicated even in his larger size, would continue practicing his dirt swimming. Once everything was done, Yoshi intended to seek out Zardgrammy before leaving on their own hunt.

Bearursa would appreciate Zarbyoshi a lot more now that he had ranked-up into a Hind Bear, this wasn't something he expected to grow into this soon as despite his power he wasn't quite an ambitious monster and thus needed someone to push him. Still he was much larger now and would require more food but by the same token he was stronger now and thus could bring down larger prey. Fortunately besides West Bearursa knew that the northern forest also had larger prey for him to eat as he still felt that the Red Hind Bear was still dominating the Western Great Forest. Meanwhile it was a close thing even by taking his time but perhaps Zarbyoshi wasn't that good at using more than two items, still he managed to figure out how to make a spear. After that during his practice he wouldn't notice two individuals enter the burrow until he was done, then again he probably still wouldn't notice after due to his hunting crew returning from their daily hunt.

All five would return but only four of them walked in, the other member's corpse was being carried by Zardtor, two of the others actually were carrying two other Lizardkin corpses while the last was carrying new gear. "T-this was a bad hunt. We got ambushed by those two Lizardkin and they used magic on Zardvel really hurting her. From there we desperately fought against them, and managed to win but Zardvel succumbed to her injuries before the fight was over..." Zardtor said hanging his head while the others threw their hunted prey & spoils to the ground. While they were still processing that a voice would speak up from the back. "Sssshame, the older generation I guesss. How annoying" a humanoid green scaled Lizardkin said who possessed the same makeshift wings that Zardeggy used to have, then again considering the much thicker scales covering her head similar to her egg-shell it probably was her. She was sitting near a Red Firenewt who was currently carving a Night Viper considering his muscle mass and the fact that he was wearing what Zardrex was wearing that was probably him.

Bearursa:

Yoshi inspected the spear, not overly impressed with his work, but it would make for a weapon nonetheless. He placed it in the nest alongside Snow's shield so she'd see it when she finished training. After his own training, Yoshi would look to the entrance to the burrow, hearing commotion as his hunting team returned. His face quickly drew grim as he noticed Vel being carried in by Tor, his head hung low. Yoshi listened to the pack leader's explanation, his anger rising inside him, not at Tor or the other lizards, but at the cruel world around them. Vel had done nothing wrong, she hunted for survival and this is what it got her. Yoshi nodded his head, I see. Leave her in my nest for now. We'll take care of her in a bit. Tor nodded and carried his former companion away while the others dropped the other two corpses at his feet along with their belongings. Yoshi toed the corpses of the lizards, disgusted that they would kill their own kin, but Tor had mentioned something about them using magic. Perhaps their gear could be of use.

Yoshi began sifting through the belongings of the bodies, looking for anything of value when he heard a familiar lisp behind him. He turned and found who he had been searching for, Eggy? She was clearly different and yet...so very much the same to the Eggy Yoshi had met not too long ago. Beside her was someone Yoshi didn't recognize at all and in fact, was about to ask Eggy just who this newcomer was when he paused, studying the Red Fire Newt. His body posture, his general lack of care for anything around him. Rex. Yoshi said, his anger at Vel's death and general distaste for Rex bubbling over into his words. He had to be careful here, he could feel himself beginning to lose control. If he didn't leave soon to blow off some steam, things could get bad quickly.

[Morning 8]

Ophij'tali awoke after her rather strong night with Zwardtenor, and it was like ice was placed on her stomach in comparison. Apparently, she needed whatever that was. Fixing up the meager attire, and the new skull helmet, she left with her companion of the night. The other lizardkin were starting progress and she supposed she should too. But from today she had her goal, she was going to support her Lizardkin in a way that she felt ZardGrammy would if she were able to come out with them so often. She gathered her other member that formed the trio, the two having spent the night together avoiding touching the subject with Zwardyaya, and heading out.

His search would cause him to find that both of the Lizardkin had the same kind of gear but they were of different genders, both possessed seven colored bat pelts and Horned Foal Helmets while their weapons were of a similar quality namely being two Red Deer Horns fashioned into daggers for one, while the other had a Great Rabbit Spear. It seemed that they lacked spirit stones on their person. Either way a non-carve related scan like that wouldn't yield any results and that probably would feed into his anger as it seemed that besides freshly gained meat and some equipment Zardvel's life was essentially wasted. Either way when he spoke her name Zargeggy would wave with a fanged smirk though seeing his demeanor she would turn away and get up to head over to her pile. As for Newtrex he would finish chewing his food before looking directly at Zarbyoshi. "Yoshi." he said his eyes narrowing as if he wanted to fight he would gladly oblige him and if reading the potential confrontation Zardgrammy would speak up.

"Ah ah you two save that energy for the tournament, it is around the corner after all. It is a shame what happened to one of the nestlings but such is the way of this world. It is fortunate that we will soon have another batch of hatchlings on the way." she said with a somewhat toothless smile trying to diffuse the situation before it could turn into a battle in the middle of the burrow.

Yoshi would collect the gear, dolling it out to his minions and replacing his old, too small gear with some of the pelts. The new spear would be left by his nest, too large to be used by Snow or any of the minions for now. As Grammy spoke, Yoshi seemed to calm down a bit. It was the calming voice he needed to understand this rage wasn't related to Rex. This was neither the time, nor the place, if such a tournament was to happen tomorrow then it was there he'd get his rematch. Still, that left him with a rather interesting predicament. He had hatred for the zards that had killed Vel and needed to dispose of their corpses.

So, he did the only thing that seemed rational at the time. He took a seat on the cool dirt floor of the burrow and began slowly carving away at the flesh of the zards. He'd strip their skin, intending to make some sort of cloak from their hides if possible. Their skulls would be too small for a helmet, as these were simple Zards, regardless if they were from the older generation. He'd look up at Rex, just once, while working and allowing the entirety of the burrow to see what he did to those who killed his kin. He spent hours on each, wanting to make certain that he could produce something to wear, even if he had to string the hides together later on. While he worked, Snow ate and fed him some of their left over meat. She and Ursa would continue training, waiting for Yoshi to be done but not wishing to disturb him.

When he finished, hours later, it was well into night. Ursa approached, his stomach grumbling, sniffing the air around Yoshi. The Zarb pet the large bear, his gaze hollow and lost in thought. They're yours. He said to Ursa, brushing the dirt out of the bear's pelt. The large bear cocked his head to the side, staring at Yoshi as if confused. Just these two. You need to eat and they need to see this. Yoshi said, though he didn't specify who they were exactly. Hunger overcoming him, the large Hind Bear began devouring the corpses. What blood was left within the skinless bodies splattered the ground. Bones crunched and the stench of death filled the burrow. Yoshi watched the entire display like a zard possessed until it was over and there wasn't a solid piece of flesh left. With that, he and Ursa wandered back to the nest, joining Snow for bed.

Newtrex would look at the carving with an amused grin which would only end up getting more feral when Zarbyoshi decided to feed the corpses to his bear and thus he would point towards the hind bear meat before making a gesture so that Zarbyoshi could know he wasn't afraid of his Hind Bear. In fact judging by his attire he typically hunted Hind Bears. Still the show was enough to intimidate some of the other Lizardkin that were in the area as a result some of them would shy away from Zarbyoshi and his Zard eating bear. Newtrex would finish eating before getting up and walking deeper into the cave while twirling his Hind Bear Femur around his hand before taking a swing with both hands which would actually catch one of the other lizardkin who were facing away from him causing that particular one to let out an anguished cry before crumpling to the ground. Newtrex would simply laugh while the other Zard would see who hit them before their eyes would widen and they would clutch their bleeding head before scurrying away as quickly as possible.

Tch. Yoshi said, shaking his head as Rex indicated his Hind Bear club and meat. He'd like to see Rex try, he really would. As Ursa ate, he'd watch Rex casually side swipe a small Zard minding his own business. The poor Zard would cry out before scurrying away from Rex in complete fear. Oi! Yoshi called after him, rising from his carving spot with his new equipment and slinging them over his shoulder. He'd follow the small Zard, but maintain his distance, he could tell the tone in the burrow had shifted considerably after he and Rex's little show of power just now. We have food and can look after your head wound. Over to the back, third nest in. Yoshi said simply, offering the zard a spot among his kin. Don't worry, you can sleep with the other young. The bear won't be anywhere near you. Up to you. He said, turning back to his nest. He wasn't going to force these Zards to do anything they didn't want to, not yet at least. He needed to gather more followers and cull some of the more resistant like Rex before he could completely lead this den. For now, especially after his little display, kindness and generosity would have to play out.

[Morning Day 10]

Yoshi rose with a yawn, curious if the little Zard had decided to join them or not. However, a burning question was in his mind this morning, something he had clearly been thinking about while he slept. He didn't even bother to check the nest of his minions, figuring if the zard did join them, he'd know soon enough. Instead, he looked for Zardgrammy, finding her as the rest of the burrow began to slowly wake up. Grammy, something has been bothering me. Yoshi said, looking at the older Zard. Considering all of the killing and posturing the last 10 days, it felt odd calling someone "Grammy" but he supposed that was her name and the only one he had ever been given by her. When we were attacked, by the red bear, he had strange markings. He could breathe fire, even burned Snow. What was all that? How could he do that? Yoshi asked, knowing that magic existed in this world but realizing he himself had never really dabbled or looked into it much. Perhaps Grammy could shine some light on this.
