Keanu stretched after the two were done with their practices, happy with how far they got from it. He split the monster meat they got from the previous night with Teak as both were hungry, more specifically Teak being the hungriest. Well, they more than earned it so, it's only fair. By the time the other lizardkin were gathering for the hunt, the other two would join in as well. The more help, the merrier, right?

As the two finished their deed, the two would rinse off and hear ZardYoshi’s plea. They could hunt. Fae gave him a look that a bigger group meant easier prey. Easier prey meant more units, more food. They couldn’t say no to that. ZardHatta grabbed his Tanuki Shield and ZardFae would roll around in some mud to mask her scent. The two would follow the group, albeit a bit far behind it. They were ready to hunt now that their minds were clear.

Regardless of if they ranked, up or rejected their rank-up when they woke up they would open their eyes to see their allies some of whom had ranked up as well. Both Zardyaya & Zardtenor would have pure white scales, and blue eyes sporting the same eyes as Zwardsnow, and sharing a similar body type to her. Zwardsnow, Zardfae, Zardteak would all remain the same not having the opportunity to rank-up just yet due to not meeting the level requirement, whereas they were surrounding a surprise guest by the name of Cubursa who looked rather sad about the circumstances surrounding what had happened within the forest. It seemed that whatever the Red Hind Bear had done to him had only lasted for the fight, or perhaps it was only proximity based, but it would seem the bond was stronger than that at least for the time being. "That was horrifying, and he helped them!" Zwardsnow said pointing towards Cubursa who would whine before putting one of his paws over his eyes in remorse, as for those within the Lizardkin Burrow, it seemed that Zardbion had awoken and was looking at the group with slight curiosity but still kept his distance as he was unsure as to how things would play out. Meanwhile it seemed that box Zardrex and Zardeggy were not at the burrow at the moment, while Zardeggy's pile now had a sign which had a crude drawing of Zardeggy holding her hand out to tell other Zards to stop.

REJECT

Zardj'tali awoke feeling sore and just bursting with energy after the events of the night before, the fight with the orcs and then immediately being ambushed by a bear. She jumped to her feet, and was practically sprinting around the burrow wanting to try and burn off some of this energy. She first stopped in finding Zard, now Zward, Yaya and Tenor. "Zards are white! Yaya look pretty! Tenor look pretty!" She wound up even crashing in to ZwardTenor who caught her with their newfound sturdier body, and Zardj'tali instinctively bringing up a RockScale so she didn't hurt herself in doing that.

"Zward," Yaya seemed much more intuned to her change to correct the peculiar Lizard.

"Sorry, Zward. But look very nice. Am no different but me feels like fires inside!" She realised she would have to speak to Zardgrammy maybe. But she needed to catch up, something in her body told her she was on a precipice to be just like the others. She needed to go find Zardgrammy, "Grammy! I needs helps from smart Zardgrammy! Can Zwardyaya gets? Must train against bigger Zwardtenor." After a little prep, the two would get to work. Zwardtenor was working on maintaining standing, enduring and aiming to push back, whilst ZardJ'Tali was looking to improve her Topple skill.

ZardHatta awoke to what seemed to be a screen in front of him. Not being able to read he heard a vague whisper explaining the ordeal to him. He grunted and didn’t feel ready. His taloned finger clicked on the REJECT prompt. “No not yet...” He mumbled since he was given the choice. He needed to see more before he grew up. Needed to learn more. He’d needed to speak with Fae.

He looked around and found Fae. “Morning. I’ve been thinking. We need weapons. All the others have tools. And those Orcs from last night all had something. We need to train.... we can hunt tonight. Fae nodded and a moment later she’d speak. You’re right... and I had loved using my claws... hmm idea! Follow! The two would go up to the larger trees in the burrow. “Bark is tough. Sticks can be made sharp practice on trees! The two would attempt to carve the trees. They needed to learn to fend for themselves.

Yoshi tossed and turned through the night. Even though he was exhausted from nearly dying at the hands of the Red Hind Bear, and fell asleep almost immediately after returning to the burrow, something still made him restless. When light finally broke, Yoshi grumbled and rose from the nest he shared with Snow, happy to see her new patches of scales already hardening where the flames had burned away her old ones. He placed a hand on her thigh as she snoozed, only to stare at it uncomfortably. The hand was black, but he was green. Yoshi looked down at the rest of himself, finding strange black scales along his body. He scrubbed and rubbed at the scales, thinking they may have just been covered from soot or ash from the fight, but nothing rubbed off.

Suddenly, Snow rose from the nest, wiping at her eyes. Upon seeing Ursa, she hissed and complained to Yoshi. Yoshi rose, seeing his friend had returned, braving the chances of being attacked upon entering the burrow, he had returned to Yoshi. It wasn't his fault. Yoshi said to her as he walked over to Ursa and gently pulled the cub's paw from his face. He looked into the big bear's eyes for a long moment before scratching him behind the ears and hugging him around the neck. I know. He said simply and felt the cub relax in his grip. Yoshi then proceeded to brush and clean the twigs from the bear cub. Several minutes later, he patted the creature's large front shoulder and said, Okay, come on boy, I'm sure you're just as hungry as we are. With that, the two turned and left the burrow, Snow following behind albeit begrudgingly.

Zardgrammy would look at the situation and though she was glad that some of the hatchlings had ranked up it seemed that just like the previous generation most of them were unable to adapt to the environment. It made her frown but she hoped that others would grow more powerful as they needed strong rank-ups to ensure their survival in the long run. "Congratulations Zarbyoshi you have ranked up into quite the rank-up. I haven't seen any nestling become that since well my generation, unfortunately he left the burrow for greener pastures shortly after..." Zardgrammy said overlooking the others in favor of Zarbyoshi due to him having the superior rank-up. Though seeing as he would quickly leave her eyes would turn to the others and smile at them minutely. "Please try your best to adapt to the outside world and you will be surprised by what you rank-up into. If you survive to Day 10, I am planning quite the event those who do well will receive quite the reward." she said patting all of the Zwards on the head before focusing her attention on the eldest nestling and would nod to tell her to ask the question.

Zardfae & Zardhatta would be unable to carve at the fallen tree that made up their burrow, perhaps it was a combination of it's advanced age making it rather durable or the fact that their claws weren't that strong but maybe that's why they should try outside as the trees were less durable. Cubursa was relieved that Zarbyoshi had understood that it wasn't his fault and he would spare a glance at Zwardyoshi before ducking his head asking for forgiveness though if she didn't agree to forgive him he wouldn't be that upset as the one he had a bond with had already forgiven him. Zardbion would get up before heading to the breeding chambers, while another Lizardkin would approach Zardkeanu & Zardteak. "C-can I join up with you? I'm Zardsha" the female lizardkin said as they looked like they could use a helping hand and well she saw that they were apart of the group that hadn't ranked-up and she was hoping to benefit from their power.

With only a little bit of practise between them before Zardgrammy was with them, Zardj'tali elected to continue her little practise whilst talking. And Zwardtenor seemed to be rather enjoying what was basically 'play time', strengthening both of their bodies without the risk. "Hi Zardgrammy! I gots energies! So much energies. My thinks I might grow too. But has questions." With Zwardtenor standing firm, it just meant she was stronger now too, and gave Zardj'tali more of a work out to Topple them. "Fight muscley with shiny stick. Had water shinies in them. Think can make if find more shiny rocks? After has practise. Tail strong, but can be stronger. Zwardtenor is fun partner now they strong. My want be strong too."

Keanu seemed relieved that Teak made it out there alive. The two were resting near the walls of the burrow, ragged breathing as they ran like hell with the rest of the Lizardfolk in that hunt. Once they caught their breath, the two just began to chatter about how absolutely horrifying that whole experience was from the pig to.... giant fuck off bears showing up and making the skirmish worse. None of the creatures met were what appeared to be some jade horse though, so the question of where it was hung in the air. Well, that, and according to Teak, what a jade horse tasted like.

Hatta and Fae were disappointed in their lack of being able to carve anything useful out of the tree. If only ZardEggy was there. They were a master at making things. They would go on and keep trying. Hatta wanted something to go with his little old cracked shield. And Fae was good with her claws but they needed more reliable things. A club. A pointy stick. BARK ARMOR. Anything. They didn’t want to be that overwhelmed ever again. If this were to fail again they probably would go on honing their skills until the night and spar. BUT first the carve.

"Hm, a stick you say. You might be thinking of a magical foci, it's a special type of crafting. But you might be better off trying to put a spirit stone into an object if you can successfully do that, then try crafting while doing that to something else and you might make what you want." Zardgrammy said to Zardj'tali with a pat on the head before walking away as she had spoken a lot and was now tired. Zardsha would poke Zardkeanu & Zardteak as it seemed they were deep in conversation and thus couldn't hear what she said. She would try to get their attention before speaking up again. "Um, can I please join up with you." she said once more trying to convince them to take her along with them the next time they decided to head outside which judging by Zardteak's rumbling tummy would be quite soon.

As for the two carving Lizardkin they would once more be met with failure and it seemed that they really weren't good at this, perhaps they could get someone to teach them and maybe they'd do better. Otherwise it might be best to try exploring a bit more, whether outside or deeper within their burrow maybe they could find something that would help them with carving because what they were doing at the moment clearly wasn't cutting it. Not to mention they were hungry having not been able to get anything to eat during their nightly romp. Fortunately it was now morning and thus it would be way less dangerous to try and hunt something outside.

Another failed attempt. The two were upset. ”The others make this seem so simple!” ZardHatta said in frustration as he threw down the bits of bark he scraped off. Fae let out a haughty sigh, “They really do...” They both dropped what they were doing. “Train then we hunt.” ZardHatta nodded just head as they needed to eat. But they wanted to work on themselves for a bit. The two then sparred for up to 4 hours, roughly noon. ZardHatta aimed to master his chomp and ZardFae was working on her battle cry. She seemed to be working on her singing as well between screeches whilst Hatta practiced his bite against discarded bones and the such.

Feeling a little cramped, and nearly knocking some others over, JTali figured getting a little fresh air would be helpful. She gathered Zwardyaya too, just to inform her of where they were going, and suggesting she learn some new skills from the other lizards in the burrow what they were out. And with Zwardtenor in tow, she headed out.

Once getting back inside the burrow, J'Tali and Tenor went deeper in, finding themselves a secluded spot for their hours of training J'Tali's Topple skill together. Should be easy enough right? Practise a skill, and maybe it'll come in handy when her own Rank Up comes. Maybe that'll be tonight? Maybe that'll be the following night. Who knows. But she had a lot of work to do.

The Zards would train their carving though only Zardhatta managed to pick up the skill as it seemed Zardfae really wasn't suited for such a task. Either way when they were done they were both starving, and felt weakness after pushing themselves past the point of feeling hunger. Fortunately they had robust endurance and though they felt themselves slowly dying of starvation it wouldn't be that quick of a death that they couldn't head outside and find something to eat as they could always drink some of the water provided by their Lesser Spirit Stones. The same could be said for Zardj'tali as she too had pushed herself past starvation and though she had managed to train her topple skill by a decent amount she felt her life slowly trickling away due to her hunger. Both Zwardyaya & Zwardtenor seemed to hold out a bit longer than her perhaps it had something to do with them being ranked up, but either way they were pretty hungry as well and had staved off dehydration by having a drink of water from their own spirit stones.

Meanwhile Zardrex had spent that time carefully carving his Hind Bear corpse and now had four carves which he could make use of. The first being a cloak made from the Hind Bear, which was far larger than what he could comfortably wear at the moment due to it being Medium M in size, next was the rib-cage of the Hind Bear which although large could be potentially worn as chest armor, the other was a new club made from the femur of the Hind Bear, and the last was the Hind Bear's skill which was also too large to be comfortably worn at Medium S in size. Still he was satisfied by his efforts and would begin to eat from the pile of Hind Bear meat which was far too much for him to eat alone, though considering he had hunted it by himself it was obvious he wasn't thinking of sharing with the rest of the Lizardkin.

Zardj'tali and Zwardtenor stumbled out at last, admittedly a little tired but mostly just in need of some food. She invited Tenor to her little nook to share her leftovers, and they were able to drink from their own individual stones. But once done, this was the last of J'Tali's personal food. And so, she decided that she would gather Zwardyaya, and they'd spend the night testing the new Zwards skills with a little hunt too stock up, and get Yaya something to eat too. It was only fair after all.

"Bwuh?" Teak seemed to be unaware of the lizardfolk that grouped up with them until she poked his shoulder. "Oh, yeah we're more than happy to have another member to the team!", Keanu said with a smile as best a lizardfolk can muster. "My name is Zard'Keanu, and that's Zard'Teak."

At the mention of Teak, the other lizardfolk gave a wave but paused to stare down at his stomach that also seemed to want to say hello. "Can we find food?", Teak asked sheepishly after his stomach was done with its grand speech. Keanu sighed and shrugged. "I guess we're going on a hunt now. You ready to go?", which was probably a stupid question because she wanted to join up with them and seemed to read the situation with Teak's stomach.

As the sun rose high, it seemed ZardHatta Accidented into a skill! Perhaps carving was for him after all! Damn the two of them were hungry. The two took a long drink to satiate their tummies for a time. ZardHatta was confident now! It was time to hunt while the sun hanged high! "We're going to try south! Let's go!" With enthusiasm he jumped as Fae wistfully agreed and tailed behind. The two left the Burrow and went off to hunt!

As her night and hunt was coming to an end, Zardjtali was plotting how to dish out the materials she had brought back. In the end she decided to leave the lower tier horned rabbit with the two Zward to share, with the promise to share her own after she carved out the horn in the morning. And once all was said and done, she curled up in to get little nook to sleep.

When she woke up Zwardyaya and Zwardtenor would look up at her as regardless of what she chose it was obvious that she was now larger than either of them. "Woah you, you are bigger now. What call you?" Zwardyaya said with wide eyes while Zwardtenor would input his own comment seeing as his vocal chords were now healed thanks to his rank-up. "B-beautiful." he said his voice quite melodic just like Zardgranny had mentioned previously. Zardgrammy was also watching with tears in her eyes as she was happy that the eldest had finally ranked up. However there was one who wasn't happy with this outcome, and Zardrex would watch with anger in his heart. He would grit his teeth before getting up and beginning to walk forward but Zardeggy would spot his intentions before holding out her hand in order to tell him that it wasn't worth it. Still he would shake her off before letting out a snarl before walking back to his corner.

Zardjtali went to sleep with that same energy she has burning her insides the whole day, and yet seemed to fall asleep the fastest she had until that point. And when she woke up... Well OphiJ'Tali had curled her new long tail up to her chest. She blinked and flipped up hard. "Ah! My tail is long," she didn't even notice her speech pattern had improved. But she was still the same JTali with the wide eyed enthusiasm. "I'm... Erm... OphiJ'Tali now!" She hasn't even noticed Tenor could speak again, feeling in hindsight just how out of it she used to be. And then... Oh god that burning! She thought the rank up would remove it but... Was Zwardtenor causing it? And ZardGrammy distracted her at least. "Grammy! Lookit m-guh! Ah!" Her new tail was also perfect to trip over the first time, added with her new height. "I'm ok!" She popped back up, and grinned. "I'm tall and strong and pretty, I think Zwardtenor called my pretty. Ah that burning again." She had all but ignored Zardrex, not even registering him or his grumpiness.

Once her little bits of chatting were up, she went to sit in her alcove. Time to Carve the higher tier Horned Rabbit from the night before over a couple of hours.

After making it back from the Northern section of the forest, Yoshi groomed the dirt and grime from Ursa's fur while Snow began making preparations in the nest for sleep. Behind him, he could hear the whispers of other Lizardkin, stopping and pointing at him. They spoke of his changed appearance, their disbelief that this was the same runt who had had his shit kicked in by Rex only days ago. Now he was taller, stronger and his scales were a deep black like the night sky. He rode a bear into battle and even survived a fight with one of the most dreaded creatures in the forest. As Yoshi finished grooming Ursa, who promptly sat on his haunches to stare at his master with a curious look, the lizardman rose to his full height and addressed those lizards who had taken an interest in him. Many of you see what I have become. Those of you who wish to someday evolve, who wish to follow and hunt with me, meet me in the center of the burrow tomorrow at first light. Yoshi yelled, a sweeping announcement to any interested. With that, he promptly fell into his nest with Snow and the hunting trio closed the books on another day.

Those Lizardkin within the burrow would hear his words even though they were still getting used to the fact that Zardj'tali no, Ophij'tali had ranked up. Still his words would call over 5 Lizardkin who would go up to him before nodding at him. While this happened it would cause a bit of a shift as some Lizardkin would move over to Ophij'tali's group others would move over to Zardbion who looked confused that he was being followed now, others would congregate near Zardeggy's pile. None would go over to Zardrex but he didn't care about that, no he was going to go hunting in response to what had just occurred in his mind if they could rank-up so could he, and he would walk into the midst of Zardeggy's group to grab her by her tail causing her to wake up with slight squawk before seeing it was him and swatting his tail before picking up some gear and walking over to the new arrivals. "Niccccce, you look much better now. Will ssssssse you later, Zardrexxxxx is jealous" she said greeting both Ophij'tali & Zarbyoshi before walking away with a cackle knowing that Zardrex wouldn't rest until he too measured up to them.

Yoshi awoke the next day to find 5 Lizards staring at him. Five wasn't a bad number, but he had hoped for more. For now though, he'd just have to work with these five and hope that their rapid progress would impress others who would in turn join them. Welcome everyone. Yoshi said to the group as he rose to his feet to see other Lizards congregating around some of the Zards that had ranked up previously. Positions for leader would start to be up for grabs, factions would be made. While he didn't necessarily have to be the burrow's leader, someone needed to and until that person rose up and persuaded he/she was the better fit, Yoshi would take a stab at it. A familiar lisp broke his thoughts as he watched Eggy swat away Rex's hand and speak to both him and the new, snake-looking Zard in the nest near his. Before Rex could make it out the door of the burrow however, Yoshi called out, Rex! I'll need someone to help train them. Join me. This was an offer, mixed with a dash of intimidation as Yoshi was more than willing for a rematch with the stubborn Lizard.

"No." Zardrex would say after a moments pause in his step, before continuing forward, if they were going to have a rematch then it would be on his own terms, unless Zarbyoshi wished to run after him then he would be forced to turn around and fight him but otherwise he was going to wait until he managed to rank-up himself before battling the clearly evolved Lizardkin. Zardeggy would watch the display with amusement, as she was eager to actually see a fight between the two of them, unlike before when she had missed it this time it might be different. She thought it would be interesting to see how Zardrex dealt with defeat, but at the same time if he won again she knew that it would really kill the awe the other Lizardkin had at those who ranked up.
