Chapter 1(pt.1):Enter The Mouth of Azazel : Team B

Hey NB, Thanks again to all of you for putting in the effort and joining this story that we have cooked up for you all. You’ve honored us with your participation and although grateful there will be rules, we still have to enforce. These rules ensure that the event runs and ends in a timely manner. Apart from that they are also made for the careful consideration of others. To speak even more plainly, “aint nobody trying to be doing this for six months”. We understand that life happens, we are living too. The train has left the station and here are the rules from the moment you make your first post here.

✹ Everyone has 48hrs from my mod (guide/happenings /attack/triggers ect) posts. Once up you have that time frame to drop a post, no exceptions. If you fail to do so “Bad” thangs happen to the group or just your character. Seems harsh but trust me, we can do it.

✹ There is no post order, but you can only post once per round. This is so that everyone can post at their earliest convenience without being blocked by someone who comes before you in the order.  To help illustrate this, here’s what I mean using examples: (Mod post) & P1-5

In addition to the rules above here’s how you play this portion of the event. Your concerned guide urgently needs to get to Azazel in time to save the SOM (Son of Medjay) Elias.  She will not advise stopping for any reason but at what cost? It is up to you all to decide how to make things right.  

You are assigned 10 SP (Salvation Points). You have not been assigned SP individually, you have been assigned them as a team. As you make your way to Azazel you will see a lot of bad things happen, but anyone of you can stop it. Unfortunately, you will do this at the cost of wasting time (even when you try and be slick about it). If rules change or are added you will be notified. Until then good luck, be safe, and have fun!

Description: Sidonie is a Gravity Child, and as such her body has been trained to withstand the strain of the Roads she rides, though it was apparent even from a young age that the damage she could withstand was higher than other members of her clan. Sid is capable of weathering large amounts of damage without so much as showing a scratch on her skin. This manifests as a "Raw Durability" value possessed by her body, this value needing to be completely depleted before any damage begins to actually register on her person. This value is dependent on a Weekly Training that must be performed at varying intervals depending on her age, much like the Hardened Bodies passive. Once fully depleted, Sid's this passive is switched off for a number of Turns based on the current level this passive has been trained to as it replenishes, though comes back in full when the cooldown is over. Until Sid's Durability is emptied, her defensive tiers are disabled and do nothing to lessen the damage she sustains (though secondary effects are still active), though after it is depleted fully they reduce as normal.

Description: "Movement Taught, Conserve Momentum"- The Kukinorite have been around for a very long time, since the Chakra Beasts roamed the planet, however they are rather stuck in their ways when it comes to how to utilize their Run. The last person to innovate within the clan didn't really improve upon their methods of Riding, which Sid found she could rectify. She combined the capabilities of her fighting style with her Trick Speed and Dash, resulting in her combining acrobatic movements into her Run. This B-Rank Speed+Strength Tier Chain changes how she builds up momentum, causing her speed to increase gradually yet constantly rather than in sudden bursts after a specified period of time as well as allowing her to utilize flips and spins to conserve her momentum while halting, whether voluntarily or forcibly, allowing her to continue moving at previous speeds. This method of utilizing her Trick Speed results in her starting at D-Rank- Speed when first building up her run, though she gathers 1 Tier Level in speed each post (total) she continues to move. Her flips/spins also occur at B-Rank+ Speeds and result in a tier level drop in speed rather than a complete loss of it when being halted.

Description: Along with their bodies being modified, the Gravity Children’s brains were also modified, drastically to the point that the Gravity Children have gained the everlasting hate of the Rikigaku. Due to their increased intelligence, in terms of technology, they are a step above the others being capable of making elemental conduit weaponry, with a +1 added to their chance of success. The Gravity Children are also capable of figuring out if someone is proficient in weapon usage (Kenjutsu/Kugujutsu/Shurikenjutsu/Kyujutsu) at a glance, figuring out what their specialty is when they observe them in combat, requiring the target to always put their weapon based techniques in spoilers. With their modified intelligence, the Gravity Children are considered geniuses. As a result of this alteration in intelligence, the pupils of the Gravity Children have gone through a permanent change to a cross-shaped pupil.

Description: Becoming known to the world, the Gravity Children are geniuses, however unknown to the outside world, this higher intellect is something crafted not naturally born. Even though their intellect is not something they were naturally born with, they do fall short compared to other geniuses. This fact is becoming most apparent in the way the Gravity Children make use of their intellect. Using their intellect to affect the way they perceive the world, the Gravity Children perceive the world as if it was moving slower, all speeds capping at S-rank are perceived as moving 1-rank slower.

Description: Sight Trick is a unique technique to the Kukinorite clan which is their aptitude to adjust to different levels of speed due to Trick Speed. As long as the speed is with the Trick Speed technique their eyes will adjust to the speeds, allowing them to keep up rather than lag behind with their vision. However, if the forbidden boosts occur their eyes will not be able to adjust accordingly. Gravity Children benefit the most from this however due to their Altered Perception allowing for higher speeds to be reached without suffering from vision lag.

Description: The Denkou user, moves their body in an elaborate playful dance step resulting in opponents reliant on muscle tension to be unable to predict their movements, due to being a dance it is tiring and Denkou without B-rank Endurance Tiers will consume double (2x) the stamina in comparison to the normal use of speed when using this technique. Likewise it can be used as a subtitute for B-rank speed tiers by those of the Denkou Clan with most female Denkou preferring to learn the Twin Moon Dance over the usual method of bolstering their speed through training.

Name: Nimbus: Cloud Generation

Description: The Arashi are capable of producing pearly white Materia known as Nimbus which resemble clouds which manifest when the user is focused or emotional. Often called Nimbus clouds, they are integral to the use of Storm Release as an Arashi Clan member will shape Nimbus and may or may not saturate them with chakra to give rise to Storm Release techniques. Nimbus clouds are controlled telekinetically having a deep connection with an Arashi's mental state and each Arashi is able to produce and control more Nimbus clouds as they grow more skilled (rank). Similarily they all have a max threshold of Nimbus that they can control on the field at once without strain, under normal circumstances without resulting in self harm this can not be exceeded. When Nimbus are used up in Storm Release techniques however it eases the mind allowing more Nimbus to be produced when "space" is made available.

Description: Due to their natural ability to exert themselves in order to boost the durability of their Nimbus most Arashi did not realize that there was an additional means of doing so. The first user of this technique was Haru Arashi one of the members of the Storm Corps. She layered one of her Nimbus clouds over another before twisting them together causing them to mix resulting in a darker Nimbus tinted slightly gray. Curiosity resulted in her doing it over again with another two clouds resulting in the same thing occuring, it was only until she layered the two gray clouds together than it changed once more now producing an even darker tinted Nimbus. This this technique was born, when layering Nimbus together it produces a denser version which possesses increased durability at the cost of being unable to seperate the clouds comprising it. This layered cloud when used in Storm Release techniques is always worth the amount used to form it, however due to not creating a new cloud but rather layering them over one another each one takes as much "Space" as the amount of Nimbus used to form them.

Name: Suisho Style: Heptagonal Shuriken
Classification: Shurikenjutsu/Ninjutsu

Description: The Suisho makes hand seals before creating several crystal shuriken either from their chakra or by using their chakra to crystallize earth materia. This technique forms the basis of various shurikenjutsu techniques within the Heptagonal line. These shuriken are seven-sided with spikes at each apex, resembling snowflakes, and can be utilized interchangeably with normal shuriken. Their durability on the other hand exceeds that of normal shuriken depending on the user's Crystal Affinity with at it's weakest they are unable to be harmed by C-rank physical techniques which lack piercing and aren't strong against Crystal Release. Incoming projectiles which are thrown with C-rank speed/strength are deflected when they collide with these shuriken while upon impacting an opponent they are dealt C-rank crystal release physical damage & Bleed Damage dependent on the victim's defense tiers. If the shuriken are removed from a victim without using a medical technique then the bleed damage becomes recurrent every round. When harnessing earth materia the longevity of the crystals can be improved as they are able to last double the amount of time before dissolving as usual. If they are stored within storage seals their countdown is halted until they are removed, this can be used to great effect to lengthen their duration if prepared ahead of time.

The Cocktail: Cocktail burst releasing flammable liquid that bursts into flames. These liquids more than likely would get on someone’s skin or clothing. If even the fire would hinder the group a bit because of its proximity.  The options are simple. Those who are behind Kozzen would now need to deal with it. Either take the damage and leave it up to your defenses like Sidonie would probably do or come up with a way to spare yourself.

Unlike most options to save yourself, this one will cost SP to completely avoid because it’s after the fact.  If you take the Sidonie route (the one she took when she believed the Molotov was coming to her), it’ll cost you zero sp. Outside of taking the hit, every person dealing with damage mentioned in the post that decides to spare themselves from two counts of C-rank physical fire damage will spend 1 SP for the team. An upwards of 3 sp can be spent this way. Still confused, ask me in discord.  

The Pursers: There are two of them and they get faster with every post done by the team to catch up to the two slowest. They will gain one tier level of speed each post and if they catch up to anyone, it’ll cost the 1 additional sp each round after this one.

The Smoke: Everyone calculate stamina normally. All those who were running below B-rank(Sidonie, Mei, and Indra) subtract an additional 1 stamina for ever post before your own in the last round.  Keep in mind we are still in smoke so next round will be calculated the same.

Description: The Feint Kick is as the name states a feint meant to mislead an opponent into thinking one is about to utilize a kick in order to make them dodge in a certain way allowing for a follow up. Feint kicks can resemble any type of kick however involve the the use of one's strength tier to suddenly pull back as well as the user's skill level in order to reply with a follow up while the opponent is still reeling from midreading the strike in question. With it comes the ability to capitalize on the opponents mistake often requiring +1 reaction to the speed that the follow up possesses in order to successfully dodge it or with some kicks actually triggering an alternate method of preforming it.

Name: Wáṣerotapa: Back Kick
Classification: Taijutsu
Rank: C-rank
Class: Offensive
Range: Short

Description: This kick is directed backwards, keeping the kicking leg close to the standing leg and using the heel as a striking surface at bullet release speeds to deal C-rank damage. In some stances, this kick is called the "half-moon" kick but involves the slight arching of the back and a higher lift of the leg to give a larger curvature. It is often used to strike opponents by surprise when facing away from them requiring the opponent to either possess 1-rank higher speed or C-rank reaction tiers in addition to the necessary speed to successfully dodge it. Additional tiers only work to further make it unpredictable due to the speed of execution (Spd) and increase the damage dealt by this kick (Str).
*Feint Kick Effect - Another way of doing the side kick is to make it an end result of a faked sweep kick. This is preformed just as a sweep kick would except the full rotation results in the user moving back up with a jump off the leg maintaining one's balance while tucking in the leg which preformed the sweep before lashing out with the back-kick. This results in two things, the first being if the opponent dodged the sweep kick they require B-rank reaction to successfully avoid being hit, and if they avoided via jumping or were swept off their feet they are struck by the follow up unless they possess an aerial movement technique to be send flying 10 feet.

The main effect of this technique has to do with the Earth Materia used in it's construction as the dragons retain the abilities of the materia used to form them being capable of inflicting B-rank status effects if non-standard earth isn't used. The amount of dragons able to be controlled varies with the user's rank (each has it's own price). In order to attack they use their defensive ability in conjunction with their speed to smash into opponents to deal C-rank physical damage to victims.

Tabi was saying her prayers when she’d hear his voice and with the little life, she had left in her, Tabi delivered a swift kick to Kaito’s jewels. The shocking pain Kaito felt caused him to snap out of his rage and fall to the side.

Kaito started crying but it wasn’t because of the pain, it was the thought of almost killing the woman he loved. She’d stare at him for minutes before crying herself. Kaito would reach for her machete and attempt to take his own life, but she’d stop him. With a simple glare into his eyes, she’d kiss his lips. That was when things got a bit weird. The riot stopped at the sight of the two local leaders making out.

Their anger was now just replaced with confusion, as a medad boy looks towards a citizen girl of the republic and ask, “Do... Do we make out now?” The citizen girl would turn to him slowly and replied, ” No” . The boy then chuckled with embarrassment, “heh yea I didn’t want to either.”

The fighting was too loud for Tabi to hear Gado. She needed physical saving at this point, but it never came. Team B just turned a blind eye to it. Kaito losing himself, kept squeezing until finally she stopped moving and her body went limp. Once he came through, he’d realize what he had done and like feeling a sharp pain in his stomach, he’d scream. How could he do this? How could he lose control? All he needed was one second. One moment to be pulled away from the greatest mistake of his life. As tears flowed through his eyes like rain, he’d reach for Tabi’s machete and cut his own throat. In this world of shinobi there’s truly no such thing as heroes.

Description: Iaido refers to a specific style of kenjutsu that is concerned with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard, striking or cutting an opponent, removing blood from the blade, and then replacing the sword in the scabbard. The linear motion and force applied to draw the sword from its scabbard result in much faster slashes than ones realised with the sword already drawn. This is explicitly used by Cypher simply due to their mastery of weapon based combat which allows them to literally stop opponents from preforming equal rank ninjutsu if they are within a set amount of of the opponent and use this technique. If the opponent doesn't stop however they will sustain damage thus interrupting them from completing their technique & causing them to waste the chakra used in the technique requiring hand-seals. Iaido is very specific in it's timing and proximity to determine the exact speed at which an Iaido technique can intercept hand seals at a set speed, Iaido techniques are by definition Contact range, any time an Iaido technique has any rage above Contact (Short, Mid & or Long) it means it involves the use of Displacement Aura to extend the range. If the Cypher lacks that type of Displacement Aura then the rage is dropped back down to Close or whatever the max range they can get when utilizing displacement aura.

Description: Adhering to the principles of Iaidō, the user performs a quick and powerful slash with their sword in order to cut the intended target, before immediately resheathing the blade afterwards. This technique is a powerful C-rank technique simply due to the speed in which it is performed as it can slice a person moving at C-rank speed as if it was nothing. In addition, when the user has speed tiers the damage is increased by 1-rank above the user's speed tiers if they have reaction tiers above C-rank the speed of the opponent they can slice is increased to be equivalent with their reaction tiers.
