The Silent Barb is Sharpest(Koboshiv)

After leaving the cave and scanning around for a few moments. Koboshiv realised he had to actually pick a direction to move in. He knew that the last time he went outside they'd went in a specific direction, he didn't know the name of it nor that it was North but he knew that direction. He looked over it for a few moments before nodding and deciding on his proper direction. He crouched low to the dirt, letting his camouflage hide him and even taking a few leaves and sticks off the ground to add to his cloak and fur to keep him hidden.

With his preparations complete, he decided to move in the complete opposite direction, a direction known as South, although Koboshiv didn't exactly know that. He made sure to move quietly and low to the ground, keeping an eye out for anything that he could, his tail once more under his body and close to his chest so he could draw his barb at a moment's notice, his short blade already in his mouth ready for usage. This was his adventure and it was time to show the others that he was already strong!

It was a beautiful, sunny day outside, with not a cloud in the sky. The perfect day to frolic about and skinny dip in a pond should they be fortunate enough to find one. Heading down south was certainly a decision, and one which may be considered either good or bad depending on your outlook. In any case, his stealthy movements through the southern forest made him undetected by the Messenger Locust which was just up ahead. Fortunately it was alone, grazing in a small clearing, enjoying the wonderful day in which so many seem to take for granted. This was a rare moment indeed, as these creatures rarely travelled alone. A somewhat small creature, an insect that was maybe around 20 inches long with a grey shell on its back. Every now and then it would rear its head to look around, before returning to its nutrition-less feast.

Now it wasn't one of the creatures he had seen and fought before, it seemed a lot less hostile actually... And large... And aggressive. Koboshiv scratched his chin for a few moments as he watched the strange bug thing eat. Then he thought about it for a few moments more and decided that any meat was good meat and who knows, he might even be able to make something useful out of the shell of the bug! He brought his arms in, drew his barb in one hand and his short blade in the other and spent a few moments readying himself. He stared intently at the creature, looking for some sort of vital point or weakness in its shell, realising that he could strike closer to the head where the grey shell wasn't really covering. With that he then lunged out of stealth towards, swinging both weapons down to try and punch through the top of its head and kill it. He done his best to make no noise as he done this, he didn't really want to attract other creatures towards him!

It was the perfect sneak attack, with the mixture of stealth and deadly force, he would manage to use all this available talent to pierce the foe through his not-so-thick head. It was almost instantaneous, with the barb dealing signifiant damage, and the horn swinging down only a fraction of a second later to finish the job. What a remarkable showing! The creature, now limp, would slump to the ground with its head and face firmly deformed from the gaping hole in it's skull. It truly was a short lived battle, but what comes next will be up to him. It was meat for the taking, a successful hunt. Though the day was still young, and there was more lurking about in the cover of trees and tall grass, both predator and foe alike.

With the creature dead swiftly he put away the Horn and spun his barb around in his hand for a few moments. It was a good kill, a quick kill but surely there had to be more out there, bigger and better enemies to fight. This one monster just wasn't enough for him but he couldn't leave it quite yet. He took meat from the body, he'd bring that back to the pack and then crouched down next to it. He scanned over it for a few minutes and then thought back to what Kobotia had tried to show him within the Den. He hadn't quite got it there but he might as well try his best now. Using his barb he went down and started to carve the Messenger Locust up, hoping to get some additional armour from it that he could put on before he continued on with his adventure to find more creatures, more meat and more glory!

Spoiler:

Koboshiv's memories would serve him well as he was not only able to remember what kobotia showed him but also koboling, His barb would perfectly cut around the horn of the beast. This made it simple for him to pull the horn out of the of skull without damaging, finally after all this time he was understanding exactly how and what they were doing; with this understanding it was less likely for him to get bad equipment from carving his kills.

In the nearby distance their would be someone who thought the smell of the blood and meat was absolutely delicious, he would slowly creep up to the body of koboshiv's kill and begin to eat ignoring the small fry who barely mattered.

gained:

As another creature moved in towards the corpse, Shiv slid backwards and crouched low to the ground, holding his breath for a moment as the Mantis moved in and started to feast on the Locust. It didn't seem like it was bothering with him which was good, it would've been proper trouble if it had attacked him straight away. Instead, Koboshiv stayed quiet and moved around and behind the Kama Mantis, making sure to maintain his camouflage with a few extra leaves before readying his weapons once more. He focused for a moment, holding his Foal Horn in one hand and his barb in the other before letting out a slow, silent breath and leaping forwards. He specifically aimed for where the legs met the body of the Mantis. When he was carving earlier he noticed there wasn't as much protection there as there was around the rest of the body. He wasn't entirely sure as to the reason for that but he knew it meant there was a weakness in the plating of the Mantis. Considering it was feeding and he was still under camouflage, it likely wouldn't even know it was under attack until hopefully too late.

Spoiler:

Despite what it'd seem like to the mantis he was being offered a tribute, sadly enough, it would be attack unable to properly defend from the kobolds attack it would simply drop down to the ground crumbling under the weight of its on body. The mantis should've know better than to steal a meal without fighting for it, but the only satisfying thing for it that its belly was filled. koboshiv's attack would cut the damned mantis down to size but at the cost of its first meal.

koboshiv would be given two choices at this point he could return home with the mantis or stay here and deal with other fiends of the night who might steal his meal.

Koboshiv:

With a second kill secured, Koboshiv grinned and put away his Horn before spinning his barb around a few times and rolling his neck. He was getting good at this now and he moved in towards the body, carving it up quickly before turning and heading back to the Den. He had done more than enough and even had some food to give over to the rest of the Pack! However he didn't rate his chances very highly if he stayed out when the sun went down, the Night always seemed to be scarier. Thus after his carve he would run off, keeping low to the ground and letting his sneak and his camouflage keep him hidden from anything else that might be lurking outside.

[Koboshiv Exits]

Hunting group alpha would travel east, with sneak. the two who followed behind koboshiv would look at him crazy as he really only threw dirt, twigs, and leaves on himself; It didn't really matter as the smell of fresh forest air and the sight of leave would cause him to blend into the crowd every once in a while. Koboshiv would come to a stop and which cause the two behind him to bump into him as they hadn't noticed him due to his camoflauge he wore, he stopped as he watch a two armored tanuki who were trying to eat grass and leaves.

hunting party Alpha:

It was interesting noting that the other two were noisier than he was when they were moving, had he really managed to get that good at sneaking so quickly? When they both bumped into him when he stopped he knew that he had. He pulled Dirk and Snek close so they could see him properly. He then pointed two his eyes and his throat, making a stabbing motion in order to tell them where to strike. He then pointed to the right Tanuki and to both of them to tell them which one to attack.

He knew he was supposed to be hunting the Beta but he hadn't seen anything of them and he wasn't going to pass up targets like this. He pulled out his Horn and his Barb and rolled his neck before swinging his hand out as a signal and then dashing. He ran straight in towards the left Tanuki and hopped over it, lashing out with both Barb and Horn in order to strike both of its eyes simultaneously before landing on the other side.

Kobosnek and Kobodirk for their part would rush in just behind Shiv, Kobodirk using his Barb to swing into the Tanuki's eye while Kobosnek went under, swinging his Mantis Claw upwards to cut through the Tanuki's throat at the same time.

Kobos:

A well coordinated attack, excellent use of the skills and resources available create an excellent opportunity for the quick kill. The only downfall was sound. With Koboshiv beginning to run towards the two Tanuki, followed by Snek and Dirk, both of the small monsters would end up startled, the one on the left balling up and attempting to roll forwards into its attackers, while the one of the right froze like a deer in headlights. Needless to say, the combination of attacks would slice out its eye and ripped apart the poor, helpless creatures throat. It was enough damage to kill, but only just.

For the other however, while at first it couldn't hear or see Koboshiv due to his ultimately superior stealth abilities, it was the other two close behind that gave it away. As a result, it had time to get its armor intact and with the illusion of stealth evaporated, it knew it was about to be attacked, being able to see through the camouflage as he neared. As it rolled forwards, attempting to smash into Koboshiv, he would be fortunate enough to jump, however clipping his legs as he did so for very minor damage, but taking a fair bit of its own. Both the barb and the horn would manage to pierce though its tough armor, though not enough to kill it just yet. After the attack, it would keep rolling to gain some distance, unballing for just a moment to turn and pick its next target, before rolling back up.

Spoiler:

"Leave this one, mine! Carve!" Koboshiv snarled at the other two, pointing to the dead Tanuki. Having his own sneak attack interrupted because of them was particularly annoying and he clenched his jaw. There was pain throbbing through his legs but he shook himself out and focused, gripping both of his weapons tightly. He wasn't expecting any sneak attack so it was time to hit hard and finish this.

Koboshiv moved forwards to get the Tanuki to attack him before leaping out the way, doing his best to dodge the blow and wrapping his cloak around him to take the rest of the blow if he wasn't able to fully dodge it. He knew the Tanuki would have to open up in order to pick its target though and that was when he struck, leaping forwards and attempting to sink his teeth into the Tanuki's throat to hold it in place before stabbing at its face with both of his weapons again to finish it quickly.

Kobos:

the armor taniku would see that it's chances are slim to none of escaping due to being on it's last leg, However it hadn't given up the fight but that wouldn't matter as koboshiv moved in and took the finally bite of its hp. when koboshiv looked over to the two knuckleheads one of them were able to pull the tanuki's armor of and place it around his arm like a shield, he doubt koboshiv would mind and the other wasn't really interested in that shield as he came closer to better equipment.

Spoiler:

With the creature dead and his mouth full of blood, he wiped it away with his arm and then took a deep breath. Having a group with him was bothersome, it made hiding a lot harder when he had people around that weren't as good as him but he'd deal with it. "Watch for more creatures! Be quiet!" He told the others quite sharply and they dragged the carcass away and went back to hiding, watching carefully for any creatures.

For his part, Koboshiv gripped his foal horn in his teeth and then went to work on the body of the Tanuki in front of him with his organic barb, he was able to carve properly unlike the other two and he'd do his best to get as much as he could from the body. He knew it wouldn't be too long before something else came sniffing along and he'd slaughter whatever it was as well, his bloodlust was high today.

Spoiler:

koboshiv showed them or at least showed of his talent with the barb. The other two kobolds stood over his shoulder watching silently and was well impressed with the work he was able to do, once he was finished the two stood around up pretending to have been watching the whole time until they were able to witness the two horned rabbits hopping around joyfully. the kobold would gather koboshiv's attention to point out the horned rabbits which would cost him his excellent carve.

Spoiler:

Koboshiv grabbed the other two kobolds and hissed quietly to them. "Get back, use my attack as distraction." He told them before waving them away and pressing down close to the ground, sliding back and keeping hidden. It didn't seem like they had properly noticed him so he readied both of his weapons, slid around on his stomach until he was behind the two Rabbits and then launched out towards the first. He knew he needed some practice and once more would attempt to latch on with his jaws, attempting to bite again and properly this time, at the same time striking down with both weapons towards the Rabbit's neck and throat to kill it quickly.

After the strike and the likely terror from the other rabbit, the other two Kobolds would strike, one coming in from behind and left, the other from behind and right, aiming to slice through the throat and head respectively to kill it as well before it could flee.

Spoiler:

Koboshiv would finally manage to bite correctly it seemed all those times of practicing finally allowed him to learn how to do something other than stabbing though it seemed the way he stabbed was still as effective as ever. Either way, the Horned Rabbit would die without even knowing anything but the pain from the initial bite whereas Kobosnek would swing his sickle mantis claw to wound his own Horned Rabbit before Kobodirk finished his off with a tackle using the dangerous horn on his helmet. They would pull back and look towards Koboshiv as it was nice to kill things quickly and quietly sure they enjoyed hunting with Kobotia because she was the first one to teach them how to do so but Koboshiv had more of a way with the sneak attack. "So what now?" Kobosnek said motioning to the fact that they now had two additional kills, and neither of them were the carving type of Kobolds.

Spoiler:

Koboshiv shook himself out and then looked down at the two corpses that had been left before turning and waving Kobosnek and Kobodirk over. "Will show properly this time, watch close! When done, take meat and stuff back to Den... I will follow shortly after." He told them simply before gripping his Foal Horn in his teeth and then setting to work with his Organic Barb, doing his best to carve up both of the horned rabbits so he could give as much stuff as possible to Kobosnek and Kobodirk to head back to the Den with. He preferred hunting on his own and he wanted to have a last look around, maybe he'd be able to pick up the Beta but he doubted it. It'd be nice to be alone with himself for a bit at least.

Both of the other Kobold's would suppress a snicker as Koboshiv messed up the carving as he did it in such a way that they couldn't even try to learn what he was doing for fear of messing up as badly as he had. The fur was ruined, the horned were broken and the only things usable were the meat that they got from killing it. They would manage to pick up the badly butchered corpses and would leave the area using sneak just like they had been told to by Kobotia during her hunts, hopefully Koboshiv would have better luck alone,

Koboshiv stood there for a few moments after Snek and Dirk had left. Why was it whenever he tried to be useful it went wrong? He was fully expecting it to rain on his head right there but he shook himself out and went down onto his stomach once more. Maybe some good old fashioned murder would help him out more, his jaw muscles weren't nearly tired enough. He gripped his Foal Horn in his mouth, put his barb in his tail and then turned, sliding away, further East to try and hunt down a bigger creature. Hopefully that bloody Beta would show up and he wouldn't seem like so much of a failure to Kobotia. He kept his breathing steady and let his camouflage and his sneaking keep him hidden.

A Horned Rabbit would stumble into the area it's nose sniffing a bit before it could hop over to a bush and start digging into the ground it seemed as if this particular Horned Rabbit was setting out on it's own trying to build it's own burrow from scratch rather than stay with the other Horned Rabbits. Wonder what could of lead to such a decision oh well that wasn't too important sure the forest was changing but it wasn't like a horned rabbit could be anything but prey even if it was the Eastern Great Forest.

Spoiler:

Another one of these things? Koboshiv frowned slightly around his Foal Horn but took it out of his mouth anyway. If anything, more meat for the Den was never going to be a bad thing... Then he had an idea. His eyes lit up and his frown turned into a wide, predatory grin. If something bigger, something more worthy of his attention didn't want to show up... Then he would make one show up. He slid around behind the horned rabbit and just like before, lunged out to strike it from its blind spot. He'd first aim to clamp his jaws around its neck to hold it in place before driving both of his weapons into its throat to kill it quickly, nice and clean, just like always.

If it died then he'd quickly Carve it but make sure to spread some of its blood around the area before sliding back into stealth and waiting, trying to bait in a bigger creature, some kind of predator, something that would actually be worth killing.

Spoiler:

Koboshiv was an expert in killing Horned Rabbits and with his new found skills it was even easier than before. and within a short moment the formerly living monster was a slowly cooling corpse. He would find it easier to carve it in comparison to the Armored Tanuki allowing him to remove it's skull which he had seen others use as a helmet so that was fun at least. It's meat would be left there as he quickly decided to try and hide once more. However rather than seeing some prey he would see his Alpha trying to sneak past using the very same bushes that he was hiding nearby, she was carrying some humanoid reptile that he hadn't seen before but was just as large as he was as well as some meat in an armored Tanuki Shell. She seemed to be moving very carefully and once more he felt that if not for his camouflaged she just might have spotted him.

Spoiler:

Well that wasn't exactly the predator that he had been looking for and he wasn't about to attack her, that'd be ridiculous. Instead Koboshiv put his weapons away, slid over to Kobotia and then stood up a short distance away from her, giving her a wave. He didn't want to scare her like he had the others when he appeared out of nowhere due to his camouflage. "Kobotia... What is that? Was out hunting, couldn't find Beta, not even tracks. Started gathering food, killing... Rabbits, lots of rabbits. Need bigger prey, not good enough." He said to her, taking a drink via his spirit stone and then moving a bit closer. "Where are you going?"
