Test of Power [Dual Training]

Subject: Test of Power [Dual Training] 26th August 2013, 11:29 pm

Roxas sat on a stump near the edge of the training grounds, reading a slightly damaged book. His katana was stuck in the ground in front.of him while his basic.black chakra skates reflected the light of the sun that shone through the clouds. Roxas wore a simple white shirt and blue shorts which slightly contrasted against his footwear. Occassionally he would blow a piece of bubble gum till it was forced to pop.

Another exploration of the grounds and this time Regal found himself around the training grounds. Not really much to him as he has been around other training grounds before but this might be the center of his training for a little while, might as well get used to it. As he entered the grounds, he looked over it spotting a person but simply ignoring them due to already knowing he could give no reaction.

Roxas heard the soft pitter patter of footsteps enter the silent area. He raised his head from the book to see who had entered. It seemed to be someone he had never met before. With a smile, Roxas raised his arm and gave an enthusiastic wave at the newcomer. "Heyyo! Heh. Here to do some training, eh?" said Roxas in a calm and happy-go-lucky manner.

As he heard the person calling out to him, he turned over and only gave a smile. To answer the person's question Regal could not but he could at least make an effort to communicate. With a nod of his head, he wanted to give the impression that training is the reason he was here, not like there were much other reasons to be around such a place.

Roxas saw the nod and slightly understood. He folded a page in his book and stood, setting down the book on the stump. He noticed the guy was quite, but figured he was probably just shy. "Mind if I join in? I find training alone to be boring. And Tekio never stops yelling at me about my form."

Oi! What do you mean by that yah little weasel! she shouted inside his head making him flinch lightly.

Roxas laughed then continued. "Training with another is always much more fun and shows how well you can adapt to new situations, yah know? And isolation isn't that fun, feels like your trapped in some kinda cage. Haha."

Tekio? Well this person might not be sane in the head at all, but who was Regal to judge. It seemed like this man liked to talk, not really a problem but he just let out a long sentence. Drawing his katana with his right hand, he let it hang downwards, his grip tight on the handle as he waited for his "opponent" to prepare in whatever way he needed to.

"Oooh. Straight to the action? Not much of a talker eh? Alright. That sounds just fine." Roxas smiled and pulled his Odachi from the earth with his right hand. At first he held it like any normal swordsman, then after a pause he quickly adjusted so the blade was in reverse, the back of the blade facing the opposite direction than it should. "For safety, yah know?" he said with a small laugh before spitting out his gum.

Regal only shook his head in disappoint when the boy showed the reverse edge to his weapon. Training with his grandfather and the rest like him, Regal believes training needs to be done like a battle, if not one would not learn their faults. Lunging forward, the sword was raised into the air as Regal stomped on the ground with his right leg he would bring down his sword onto the boy, a quite simple attack.

Roxas's blade swung upward to meet the opponents blade while his left hand went to his waist. With a slight twist of his right foot in positioning, Roxas swung out with his left leg in a striaght forward kick to knock back his opponent before a test of strength could be conducted between the two's air met blades. If successful, Roxas would take a step back and rest the point of his Odachi on the ground.

The usual reaction was to either avoid the swing or parry it, this person chose the latter which Regal reacted. When his sword collided with the other, Regal quickly released the handle, using the downward momentum, and bring his hand down hitting the boy's hand downward away from Regal's waist area and into the boy's leg which Regal's hand would also push downward. Also coming from the momentum, Regal's right knee would push down before bursting like a spring sending him forward into the boy. As he left the ground, his left knee would come up aiming at that small space between the waist and the abs.

Roxas took the full hit and even slid back a little, but he didn't flinch or even gasp. With the boy basically against him and now without his previous weapon, Roxas twisted the hilt of his sword so the blade was behind the boys neck. And just as quickly he reached for his Kodachi for a quick unsheathe to level with the boy's chest.

As the boy slid back, Regal grabbed his falling katana and thrust forward as he landed, only seconds after the boy slid back, which they were still in close proximity of each other. As the thrust was occurring, Regal would grab the handle of his shortsword and unsheathed flowing downward then beginning an arc. His draw was low, very low actually as the blade would find it self moving at an upward arc to the boy's crouch. It was the rare castration stand off, what happened next would depend on the boy. If his sword going to Regal's chest would make full contact then Regal's blade will make full contact with his baby maker, and even though Regal couldn't speak, he wouldn't risk his own.

Roxas's attack wasn't meant to go fully. It had been meant as a standoff type attack. But even so, with a slight adjustment to his stance, reading the movements through the boys shoulders, Roxas slided more to the left a little to change the point of impact to his thigh. The blade would meet with Roxas's skin, but there would be a sudden force as the weapon didn't go through. His shorts got sliced but his skin was completely in tact. Using just that moment he would shove his head forward to slam against the boys. If he made contact he would quickly remove his blade from behind the boys head to ensure the boy didn't get harmed if he was knocked back from the headbutt.

It would appear through protecting his jewels, the boy had completely forgot about the thrust that came before. With the small distance in between the two and the fact that the thrust occurred a couple of seconds before the short sword chose its target, that would mean the boy starting his dodging attempt a little before the short sword started to move upward but after the katana already started its movement.

With that small amount of time, Regal's blade would make impact around the boy's arm region disrupting his slide, not moving the boy's whole body but his right side would be pushed further back. Following the boy's next attack, it would come at a longer distance then if Regal's attack thrust didn't make contact. During the boy's evasion the arc would be completed, only causing a minor scratch something barely noticeable. Using the extra time, Regal would bring the short sword down, considering the blade was pointing downward to begin with, on the boy's shoulder to disrupt his attempted headbutt.

Roxas was quickly realizing this boy had the current advantage. He frowned as his movements had failed and would jump backwards to try and gain some distance. As he did he would withdraw his sword from behind the boys head as he jumped and would swing it in front of him to try and keep the boy at a distance. "Oi! That coulda seriously wounded me yah know!" Roxas frowned as he jumped back once more while speaking and landed atop the stump he had previously been reading on.

Whatever threat was behind him soon left with the boy's jumping back. Regal's natural instinct was telling him to continue on with the attack, but he held himself back not because of anything unforeseen but just to allow the boy to compose himself, as it would seem at close quarters Regal had the slight advantage. With both of his swords drawn Regal just looked at the boy, as his grip tightened upon his two blades, waiting for whatever reaction would come next.

"You're awfully quite," said Roxas as his opponent mostly being silent was a bit unsettling. He stepped down from the stump, leaving his back to hit and held his Odachi so its tip was back against the ground. His Kodachi was held out to the left, exposing his body completely. He watched the boy for a moment to wait for his reply.

The time Regal gave the boy, was hopefully used well because the next second Regal was going to begin his attack. It started with a straight charge, nothing to complicated, as both swords were pointed to the ground. As the distance closed Regal rose his right hand, which held his katana, and thrust forward at the boy's neck as he stopped only inches away from the boy, using his left leg to stop himself

Roxas smiled and dragged his Odachi up from the ground in an upward arc for a collision path with the boy's katana in an attempt to knock it away. However, it would also drag some of the soft dirt with it and toss it up toward the boy's head as a distraction as Roxas would do one of two things depending on the attempt at the collision. If he managed to knock the weapon back he would follow through with a slash to the boy's right shoulder, though with the back of the sword for blunt damage, while keeping his Kodachi at the ready in his left hand to defend if necessary. If the knock back didn't work, Roxas would instead slide his sword down the length of the Katana in an attempt to lock swords, forcing the attack to change from a stab, while still keeping his Kodachi at the ready to defend.

Regal's mind had to work quick, again he released his grip on the katana allowing it to fly up in the air from the resulting swing. Before the katana would fly however, just after he released the handle, his right hand would meet the length of the lefts. As the right hand was moving down however the left would toss the short sword, the sword being caught by the right. That motion was probably unnecessary as Regal would duck down to the ground rotating his body in an attempt to sweep the boy's feet, which would thus stop his downward slash. If the sweep didn't go through however, Regal would throw a punch upward to meet the boy's blade with the short sword's blade.

Roxas smirked as the boy let go of his sword and ducked. Roxas still had his feet firmly on the ground, not making the mistake of keeping his feet off center like before exposing himself. Instead Roxas did the only thing he could. He jumped into the air and used the boy's own shoulder as a spring board, evading the punch in the process and using the boys momentum, to launch himself up further. He switched his kodachi to his teeth and would catch the boys katana in mid air with his left hand, pausing momentarilly before spinning his body like a side ways helicopter in his descent in an attempt to force the boy to back away.

As he finished the spin, his outward leg would close in, into the other. With his legs together, obviously feeling the boy using his shoulder, he started to push his body upward using his legs using his own momentum. The gap he was aiming for, was in between the two swords, the one in the boy's mouth and in his hand, which Regal motioned his body to the side so he could fit in between without being cut. Throwing his hand upward Regal would aim to grab the boy's collar with his left hand and slam him into the ground, initially going head first but he would set the boy at an angle so he would only land on his back.

Roxas couldn't exactly see what was occuring but he did feel as the boys hand slid against his collar, which due to the body rotation wouldn't provide a very good grip but would at least slow Roxas a bit. He would use this move to plant his feet on the ground before the boy could get a firm grip and slam the hilts of the Odachi up into the boys forearm to try and ensure he doesn't get a good grip to flip him.

Regal's attempt only served a small purpose of slowing the boy's rotation down. He had a better view of the boy, so as the boy landed Regal began his next movement. To meet the incoming hilt, Regal would throw a punch at it using his short sword's hand guard as a little defense. However Regal would allow himself to be pushed back a little from the collision, if the hand guard and the hilt collided, so a little distance could be made in between them.

Roxas smiled as the boy pushed himself back, this time him backing off to gain some room. Roxas took another step back then realized something. He would toss the boy back his katana and pull his Kodachi from between his team. "Heh. Your good. But, yah know, I don't believe we ever introduced ourself. The names Roxas. And you are?" asked Roxas, still not realizing this boy was incapable of speech.
