Out and About - Zardyoshi

Snow would see the pig charge her and ready herself to intercept, putting up her arms to block. However, the Red Bear suddenly unleashed a roar that shook her to her very core, causing the trees in the area to sway and creek. The sound and feeling of complete despair in the face of such an adversary was enough to freeze Snow in place, terror and dread overcoming her as she gazed upon the mountain of fur and flames. As for the pig, the roar seemed to change its mind, instead changing course to avoid Snow and crash into one of its Orc allies who had also been frozen by fear at the giant bear’s roar. Snow’s brain screamed for her to move, to run and hide and never come out again but her body simply wouldn’t obey. As the creature’s maw began to glow with unnatural, hot light, Snow slowly began to realize what was about to happen and how powerless they were in the face of this creature.

As for Yoshi, he had been knocked aside by the Red Bear, tumbling to the ground. His cloak had taken the brunt of the damage, but he had still felt the raw strength of the creature. As if to mock him, or truly show its dominance, it had turned its back on Yoshi once knocking him away, showing that it didn’t even remotely view him as a threat. Yoshi stood at the sound of the creature’s roar, realizing it had turned and was now targeting Snow and the other Orcs. His tiny lizard brain spun in circles, desperately trying to figure out what to do and realizing he’d have no chance of getting around to the front of the bear before the creature attacked Snow. However, as he faced the bear’s backside and spotted the bear’s dangly bits, an idea rapidly blossomed in his mind. He wouldn’t be able to get to Snow in time to save her, but if he could distract the Bear, even momentarily to throw off its next attack, she might be able to get away. Yoshi ran forward, ducking under the bear’s rear end and slashing at its exposed genitals with his claws. As he did so, he yelled to Snow one simple word, Run!

If his plan worked and the Red Hind Bear became distracted, missing Snow, she would immediately turn and attempt to flee into the forest. Her fear surging adrenaline through her body as every fiber of being told her to escape. If she was struck by whatever the bear had in store for her and Yoshi’s plan failed, she would still attempt to flee...if she survived.

Spoiler:

ZardHatta heard the “Run” order from across the way. Hatta looked over his shoulder and saw the dire situation. He had to make the correct choice, he had stopped near the brush of the woods on the bears blind side since it was dealing with the orcs. ZardHatta went and would try and bash in the bear’s hind leg with his Tanuki shield. Whilst ZardFae was on the bears back and would aim for a vulnerable spot. The Eyes! She aimed to stab into its eyes with her sharp claws. Knowing it would freak out though her grip loosened in preparation to reposition herself. ZardHatta kept on its toes and aimed to catch his companion which he saw attempt the most risky of ploys.

ZardJ'Tali grumbled as the shiny stick muscley was still attacking her. Did they not see the giant bear?! Well, it seemed clear the right course of action. Zardyoshi clearly knew too, and once the call was given, she shared a look to Zardyaya and Zardtenor looking to her for confirmation. She had to nod though, the trio alone, even if she wanted to stay, couldn't survive here. And so she made the call, and the three lizards looked for their clearest paths out from the clearing, and made a break for it.

Orcgeyser would've seemed to conjure the wrath of the hind bear, he would prefer to keep his staff as it made his magic stronger. he would offer the bear his arm to attack however he would see two of the three lizards he was fighting flee successfully since he dragged the attention of the bear towards him, however there was always that one who fell on the ground causing his companions to leave him. despite his want to actually wear the skin on his arms, he would refrain from trying to turn it into a sleeve, however it wouldn't stop him from swinging his staff into the neck of the bear. The orc would indicate to the lizard who've been left by his pair to attack the eyes, both of them since it was worthless to keep fighting each other with their side demising.

Orcgeyser:

Sadly the pair of orcs would be knocked away but they weren't out of the fight yet, seeing as the hind bear had been frozen by the lizards, they would recover from being knocked away. orcstaba had formed habits from the monster he'd fought, the first was to stab one of their, making their vision a bit dull. however it was always orccutta who'd have to follow behind his compainion would aim to take both of the arms off the bear, with his dual wield. he wanted the bear to regret ever touching him or his brethren, and maybe even regret following his leader, but that was up to orchorny and orchamma.

orcstaba & orccutta:

orchorny would look towards her playthings, orchamma wasn't really in the best position to move however the other was running away from the bear. she would glance the lizard going for the ball of the bear, however she wasn't run away and leave the rest of the crew here. she had pride of being a very slutful orc, thinking about there wasn't anything that was very prideful about her. she would turn to toward the bushes and haul all hell, yet that wouldn't stop her from being one of those stereotypes who trips over nothing and causes her to eat a face full of dirt.

The ones who were able to run were pretty obvious as Zardkeanu would take off running with Zardteak running alongside him only to trip and fall, truly unfortunat ebut if Zardkeanu abandoned the walking stomach he probably would be able to live to see tomorrow, if he stayed that future was less clear. As for Zardj'tali her and Zardyaya would manage to flee without any issued but Zardtenor would slip on some of the water Orcgeyser was flinging around. He would hit the ground and would try to tell them that he fell but, he was a mute and thus would have to watch them run away and leave him behind, at least unless one of them decided to look back and miss their window to escape by going back for him.

Those that choose to Flee:

The Hind bear would turn from Orcgeyser when he made a gesture only to see Zardtenor on the ground causing it to growl before rushing over to savage the poor Lizardkin who would try to give as good as he got. Though perhaps that was the distraction Orcgeyser needed to unload a scary amount of magic and kill the thing, or maybe it was enough to allow him to flee instead, who knew but with Orchorny and Pigisquigy heading out maybe they were looking like the smartest Orcs of the bunch. Still that was debateale as it seemed that Orcstaba was actually working pretty good at disabling his opponent alongside Zardfae as between the two of them they would blind their Hind Bear who would roar in agony as she was plunged into darkness. Unlike the other bunch of Zards it seemed that this group was working very well with their Orcs. Orccutta's slashes would bite into the Hind Bear's forelegs taking full advantage at the fact that it was stunned two get four solid strikes off before the Hind Bear would roar out and start moving again the first thing she would do was to try to throw Zardfae off of her back.

Spoiler:

Meanwhile Cubursa would see that the two Lizardkin he was "fighting" would turn tail and run causing him to look towards the Red Hind Bear only to see him get scratched on his sack causing Cubursa to wince a bit as the Red Hind Bear's growl became all that more severe as his head turned and he would aim a back kick at Zardyoshi which would catch him in the middle of the chest sending him flying away a couple of feet. Zwardsnow would have that opportunity to make a run for it but seeing as Orchamma hadn't the presence of mind to realize he was no longer stunned made her hesitate a bit to long and thus when she began running it was too late as the Red Hind Bear's markings glowed as he harnessed the mana bequeathed on him to let loose a fiery roar. It would cascade outward in a cone and while the fire itself didn't seem to deal that much damage, that wasn't the danger of this technique as the Orc's skin was inflammed but he was still alive if looking a little fearful. Zwardsnow on the other hand was actual lit on fire and that was where the danger of the technique truly was as it seemed that those flames were far more intense than what the roar released out. Cubursa would whimper more so because Zardyoshi got kicked away than Zwardsnow being in pain but while he would of "chased" after the two escaping Lizardkin he couldn't leave the one he had bonded with behind.

Spoiler:

Keanu grabbed Teak's arm and ran, taking his own jump over something and not realising Teak slipping and falling out of his grasp and onto the ground was really what happened until it was too late. When he was grouped with the others and turned back to check, Teak was struggling to get back up and join up with them as fast as he could. He wanted to believe Teak was going to make it.

All around her was chaos, Orcs and Lizards scrambling, bears roaring in anger and frustration. She watched as one of the Orcs attempted to run like she did, her legs moving sluggish, confused as she followed the Orc. She watched as the Orc tumbled, a cloud of dirt spraying into the night air and then fire. The world around her burned, flames licking the grasses and tree roots around and in front of her. There was a delay as her brain realized it wasn’t just the forest, but Snow herself was now on fire. She fell to her knees, the flames picked at her flesh, scales falling all around her as her body attempted to shed the pain and burnt flesh. Snow wrapped her arms around herself, somehow feeling an intense chill even among the flames. Then, her legs started moving on their own, pulling her up and causing her to stumble and run, attempting to use the rising smoke clouds as cover. She was blind, but she knew enough about where the Red Hind Bear was, that she could run in the only direction that mattered, away from it and deeper into the forest.

Yoshi groaned, his midsection already developing dark bruises from where he had been struck again. The sheer power of the bear, even its hind legs, was fearsome. He had succeeded in hurting the bear, it’s howls of pain and rage a clear indicator of that. He rose, the massive Red Hind Bear blocking his sight of where Snow had been. He could only hope what he had done had been enough to give her the opening she needed to get away. Though it made his stomach twist, now it was his turn to get away with his life. So, with the Red Hind Bear’s back to him and the other bears engaged in skirmishes of their own, Yoshi made his way deeper into the forest and away from the battle, but not before catching the eye of one of the bears, his bear. Yoshi looked at Ursa for only a moment, locking eyes with the creature and simply nodding. He understood, it enraged him that the cub could turn on someone who shared food and showed nothing but kindness to it, but he understood.

Spoiler:

Together Zardjtali and Zardyaya were making the break for it, but as they had stood together that made it easier for JTali to notice that they had lost one. "Zardyaya go!" She wasn't the type to bark instructions, it just wasn't her way, but in this case she wanted her friend safe. And so, Zardyaya continued her retreat to safety. And Zardj'tali turned back for her friend. Feeling the warmth in her stomach again, she stood as a shield for Zardtenor and helped her to their feet. "I no leave friend Tenor behind. We go eat together at home," and they would make their attempt to flee again.

It seems ZardHatta's bash was non consequential but Fae had done her job. The Bear seemed to be blinded and seemed to be taking a fair bit of damage. It seems combined strength of the two seperate factions was proving quite the force. Maybe these Orcs weren't just another source of food.... ZardHatta would have to think on it later as he kept wary of his surroundings. It seems the chaos of the battlefield was truly telling many tales. He had to focus.

Hatta kept to the back of the beast near the brush. He tried to strike at it's hind legs again with the side of the shield. Everything changed when the fire roar attacked. ZardHatta stopped his shield bash and he caught sight of more Lizards leaving.  ZardHatta was very unfamiliar with magic and as the water magic seemed harmless. This did not. "We must go Fae! Risk to high!" ZardFae wasn't stupid, she had seen what had transpired. Their exit was covered with this bear being beaten down and blinded. ZardFae jumped off the bear's back. The Meat probably would've been delicious but this was getting to out of hand. The Two Zards then sprinted into the brush and attempted to sneak as they fled. As hungry as they were, a fire breathing bear proved to be to much for the two small zards to handle.

OOC: Hatta and Fae use sneak as soon as they enter the brush and attempt to flee.

The orcs were without much choices at this point, the supposed alliance they thought they'd made would soon fall to dirt. the lizards would all seem to leave almost as if they were using the orcs as a distraction. orcgeyser seemed to be the only onto make the right choice in not trusting the traitorous lizards, orcgeyser would fire three shots of water magic at the bear who'd potentially attack the zardj'tail; if he was able to move the bear from the view of the lizards he would give them a serious look before pointing his staff at them with a glare. "THE LIZARDS HAVE LEFT US TO DIE, BUT WE MUST RUN" he yelled to his team knowing that they would do the same thing, however they would run to the closest forest to them. Orcgeyser would run East, orchorny and hamma would flee south, orcstaba and orccutta would go north, the crew was bound to meet somewhere after this whole thing had died down for a bit.

The Zards would make a hasty retreat with the Orcs providing the distraction that they needed to get away, but they didn't escape without a few licks of their own, Zardtenor was cut up, while Zwardsnow was still on fire, but what was important was that they managed to escape. Cubursa would take that opportunity to "chase" after the fleeing group as he caught Zardyoshi's meaningful look and knew he understood what had happened was not of his choice. But now he could take the opportunity to escape while the Red Hind Bear was more interested in looking after the bear who had been blinded while the other Hind Bear would chase after the Orcs. The collective Lizardkin would manage to flee all the way back to their burrow before collapsing from the strain and trauma.
