Description: We need a competent shinobi to gather cactus flowers for our village hospital. It is a mission with the potential of combat if only due to the native fauna roaming within the Cactus Forest surrounding the village. Either way when you have gathered 30 flowers you can return to the village, but take care that none of them are damaged as that'll make them useless to us.

Today was the day that Praise would attempt to do a mission on behest of the clinic that she volunteered at as per one of her duties as a Genin (Medic). Sure it wasn't exactly what she was truly into in regards to medicine but she would have to gain experience somehow before she could get into the real nitty gritty part of being a medical kunoichi. She had woken up taken a show and briskly brushed her teeth and hair before deciding to choose her combat gear just in case she needed to head just outside of the village limits to complete her mission. As a result she made sure that she was combat capable double checking if she had everything she needed within her scrolls and pouches before heading downstairs to eat some breakfast and head out. It was only once she was about to reach the door that she realized her mistake and grumbled going back upstairs to brush her teeth again and then rushed out of the door at a brisk walking pace towards the clinic.

It wasn't like the village hospital which had two wings one for shinobi and the other for civilians it was mainly a small clinic for the elderly within the village mainly catering to civilians since shinobi rarely ever did live long enough to become old and the ones that did either hated hospitals and would rather just suffer through things at their place of residence or were hospital bound. Still rarely whenever one of them did go there she liked to listen around as they would tell stories of their youth and she always did have respect for any shinobi who lived long enough to retire honorably. This time when she walked in there weren't any retired shinobi around which made her happy since she would of hated to miss out on a chance to talk with one of them while she was on her mission. She would walk up to the desk and ask if they had any missions she could do with her forehead protector loosely wrapped around her neck for them to see that she was now a genin and could do even C-rank missions alone if she chose to. The receptionist would give her a kind smile as she knew that the girl was just hoping to contribute and it was rare to see young shinobi who saw the importance of doing missions for the smaller less important places within the village. She would nod in affirmation and give her a slip for her to go to the mission office and request a mission acting in place of her jonin sensei in regards to giving permission for her to go take the mission.

With that Praise would thank her and dash of excitedly before eventually reaching the mission office and barging in with her slip held high. The chunin stationed at the desk would snicker at her antics and prepare the list of D-rank missions for her to take causing her to whine since she knew what a D-rank mission scroll looked like since they were color coordinated so that teams didn't accidentally get the wrong mission scroll. Rather than have to do a shitty D-rank she would attempt to bribe the Chunin sure he was a guy and she had a rather attractive older sister so she leveraged that to her advantage, if she was able to take a low risk C-rank mission she'd give him one picture of her sister. Nothing with nudity of course but maybe a picture of her stretching or in her pj's she was saving the more scandalous pics for when she wanted to take B-ranks. The chunin would look around as if he was afraid someone would stop him from making the deal before nodding and handing her the mission in exchange for a picture she already had on her person both of them smiling as they made such a deal and she would thank the guy before walking out.

She wouldn't offer this to anyone else but she knew that the people usually at the mission desk were the type of low lives who would actually go for something like that, career chunin who spent the most of their day doing administrative work. She shuddered in fear of ever becoming like that, no she was going to become a skilled kunoichi not some layabout wasting away behind a desk. While she was thinking about that she would eventually reach the village gate and would hold up her mission scroll and the slip for them to inspect and check over causing them to nod before allowing her to pass albeit with the instruction of not going more than a mile away from the village. She would nod knowing it was for her safety and besides seeing as they were right in the middle of the Cactus Forest there would be plenty of opportunities to gather what she needed even if she had to just circle the village. She would begin looking around for any cacti with flowers on them which took a little bit of time as the ones near to the village wall were all bare leading her to believe that other people had already picked them since even a civilian could since they were so close to the village.

It wasn't until she ventured about a quarter mile out that she began to see those which had flowers causing her to open her mission scroll to read the description of the flowers she had to gather in order to cross reference it and make sure she got the right ones. Once she was sure she found the right ones she would begin to pick them taking great care to avoid pricking her fingers as well as not damage them and she would use the mission scroll to seal them away since a sealing formula was added to it like most gathering mission scrolls had. With that she had one flower and things would continue to go by smoothly with her looking around for a cactus with the flower she needed and then carefully picking them and sealing them into her mission scroll. She narrowly avoided running into trouble when a Vespoid flew overhead with Praise crouching and remaining still to avoid it noticing her and then when it was gone she would retreat from that area rather than risk running into a Vespoid nest because that would be a horrible way to die. Eventually she would gather enough of the flowers to satisfy the mission conditions and would return back to the village, dropping off the successful mission and heading home.

Hmm this was definitely an interesting read, it wasn't my style per say but that doesn't mean there was anything wrong with it. I really like Praise and the way she haggled with the chunin for a higher mission was hilarious. That being said I would have loved to actually read that being plaid out, IE the dialogue between Praise and the Chunin for the pictures of her sister. It certainly didn't hinder the mission or writing at all, it was just a different perspective than I'm used to seeing.

It is a mission with the potential of combat if only due to the native fauna roaming within the Cactus Forest surrounding the village. Either way when you have gathered 5 S-ranks worth of Cactus Pulse you can return to the village, but take care that none of them are contaminated with spines or cactus mites as that'll make them useless to us.

Another day, another mission and despite her successful mission the day before Praise felt a sense of unease for some reason or another. It had started when her sister returned home and had been staring at her with an odd facial expression though Praise felt that it was merely her paranoia at work clearly Adore had no reason to suspect what she had done to procure the C-rank mission for herself because if she did she wouldn't just stare at her and would have probably confronted her about it. No she felt that it was something else maybe it was because she had successfully completed a C-rank Mission this early in her genin career, but that was only to be expected as Praise was a motivated individual who couldn't afford to take it slowly like those of her generation. No she needed to constantly push her limits and move forward otherwise she would never quite reach her full potential. If only her sister knew that she was juggling multiple things at once to try and just break even with the skillset of those who had far more inborn advantages than she did. Between her studying anatomy, researching her ancestors, tirelessly practicing her calligraphy due to requiring it for her fuinjutsu and juinjutsu, refining her control over her Dead Bone Pulse and doing missions Praise was extremely busy.

Still it would seem her paranoia was for nothing as her older sister would cease staring at her, instead giving her a warm smile and patting her on the head before leaving for the day. Praise felt a bit of regret forming in her stomach since her sibling was obviously unaware of what she had done but then she remembered all the other times when her sister was a genin and how she used to lord it over her like being a kunoichi was the greatest thing in the world. Sure she was right, being a kunoichi was nothing short of amazing but even so she could of at least played ninja with her when she asked even if throwing around rubber kunai and shuriken wasn't becoming of a kunoichi of Kohaigakure. With those thoughts fresh on her mind she didn't exactly feel bad anymore and thus when she eventually finished her morning ritual, this time remembering to brush her teeth after she ate breakfast instead of before like last time though refraining from drinking juice like last time since it was bad for the enamel according to her medical scrolls, she would rush to the clinic to see if they had anymore work for her.

She was halfway to the clinic when she remembered that she already had a pass for taking missions on their behalf and she wouldn't need to get another one before this week was over, so she would quickly turn around and walk to the mission office only to see her partner in crime. She would wait until the other individual that was taking missions had collected their mission scroll before walking up to the chunin receptionist with a smirk. "So you got the goods?" Came the immediate response after he did a quick look around to make sure no one else was within earshot and she would nod before handing him another photo of her elder sister this time the picture was her sleeping with her nightgown having ridden up during the night. She would see the chunin drool a bit before shifting in his seat when she rapped her knuckles against the desk to get him to focus again and he knew what she wanted before she even had to ask. A quick nod of thanks and she would walk out of the mission room her future assured now that she had a pleasant working relationship with a fellow shinobi of the Anguish. As she walked she wondered whether or not she should buy additional supplies with the money she was making thanks to these missions, the thought had in fact come up as a topic of conversation at dinner but she had been caught off guard and thus couldn't give a good answer. But now she wasn't so sure seeing as the majority of her skill set didn't require the use of weapons unlike the majority of individuals who were incapable of harnessing their chakra affinity.

Her thoughts were momentarily broken by the gate guards causing her to hand over her mission scroll for them to inspect and when they were done she would wave a quick thank you before heading out of the village and to the cactus forest which surrounded it. This time she was armed with a kunai as this mission involved gathering cactus pulp and though she was certain that this mission would be easier than the last she was mistaken as once she tapped one of the cacti near the wall she found that it had mites inside of it. She would decide that perhaps if she ventured away from it and carefully looked she might be able to see which ones had mites and which ones didn't. It was actually quite time consuming but she eventually was able to determine whether a cactus was mite free by tapping on it and then if nothing happened removing one of the spines as usually a least one mite would scurry away trying to find another hiding place. For those which this didn't happen she knew they weren't contaminated and thus would proceed to stab into their flesh and gather the pulp that she needed making sure to first remove the spines surrounding the area that she was going to pierce so that none of the spines mixed in with the pulp. It was fairly boring monotonous work and she found herself thinking about what she could actually spend her money on. Truthfully she had thought about it more deeply when she was falling asleep and had settled on her need for disposable seals and resolved herself to buy fuinjutsu materials and storage scrolls seeing as she could improve on the latter with the former. She knew that when she learned how to reinforce her skeleton's tensile strength her own bones would be superior to any weapon that could be bought in a shop custom orders not withstanding so there was no point in buying things like that. In fact if she truly wanted to purchase anything the best thing for her would be equipment rather than weapons. Sure she was confident in her durability but having equipment which could soak up some of the damage she would otherwise endure was a good investment in the future especially since there were things in the general store which weren't restricted to her rank just merely more expensive in comparison to those suggested for a genin. With her thoughts still on that she would realize that she had obtained enough pulp and would proceed to head back to the village this time not encountering any dangerous fauna now that her previous mission had alerted her to their haunts.

It is a mission with the potential of combat if only due to the native fauna roaming within the Cactus Forest surrounding the village. Either way when you have gathered 50 black spines you can return to the village, but take care that none of them are damaged as that'll make them useless to us.

It had been a while since Praise had gone on a mission, as she found that her personal training had quickly exhausted any free time she had as of late. Still she had a brief reprieve when she took some time off to regain her bearings after her training accident, sure she wasn't in tip top shape when it came to resuming her merciless training schedule but she could brush off the cobwebs with a simple mission. Thus she had gone to the mission office fully intending to meet her chunin buddy only for him not to be there, and while usually this would cause her to make an about face and try again another day she really didn't know whether she would have the free time to take a mission in the near future. Thus she walked up tot he chunin and stated she wanted one of the C-rank missions that were offered by the clinic that she worked at. This particular career chunin had initially scoffed and told her that she should take a D-rank like a good little genin but she adamantly refused and told the kunoichi to check her mission record to see that she had already successfully completed two C-rank missions of the same nature previously. Although the kunoichi initially remained skeptical when she did indeed check Praise's file she would raise an eyebrow before acknowledging that Praise was experienced at least when it came to simple gathering missions just outside of the village walls. Once that was all settled Praise would walk out of the mission office with her C-rank mission scroll in tow and a bright smile on her face as she had built up enough mission successes that she would be able to take C-ranks, albeit restricted to those offered by the clinic, without having to bribe anyone. It was good too as she now could withhold pictures from the shinobi she had done business with before for a long enough time for her to "charge" him for a B-rank in exchange for pictures since he would most likely be thirsty for more pics once he grew bored of jerking to the old ones.

She would chuckle to herself while she waved at the gate guards and showed her mission scroll to them so that she could freely exit the village this time she felt that she would be able to do this particular mission quickly since they were just cactus spines. When she got outside and realized that she would have to examine each cacti individually, just in case they had a black spine, it dawned on her that this mission was probably the most cumbersome of the three. No wonder it was still on the mission board even after all those weeks. An so she would begin to meticulously comb through the Cacti littering the village wall while barely making any progress, it was a time consuming process and despite looking at over thirty cacti she had only managed to gather eight black spines. She figured that maybe just like the other times that the spines were probably further away from the wall, as the ones close to the wall probably had already been harvested and would make her way to her usual haunts as she had grown slightly familiar with what were areas that the Vespoids tended to linger in and what areas they avoided. Moving deeper did allow her to harvest more spines than she had gathered from those at the wall but they still weren't enough as her count had grown to twenty-one. She would frown and mentally weight the benefits versus the risks of going to one of the areas that she knew the vespoids tended to fly by in hopes that they preferred those cacti which had an abundance of the black spines and made her decision. She would just have to risk it but if she came across a cactus that had more than one vespoid around it she would not even bother and try and find something else.

Fortunately after about another hour of looking she came across her prize a Cactus that had the top portion completely covered in black spines and was currently being encircled by a single vespoid. Praise would tense when she aw it scanning the area to make absolutely sure that the creature was alone before she even thought about approaching it. She knew that she would only get one chance to ambush it before things got a bit more dangerous as if she failed to injure it enough, the vespoid would end up calling for reinforcements and she would be forced to flee since she knew she couldn't take on more than one with any chance of success. Thus she would not hold back opening not one but two of her Eight Gates before leaping upward at it, she would toss two kunai both in front and in back of it in hopes that the sudden assault would make it panic and thus do what most flying creatures did and rise upward in the air. It would seem that her gambit was correct as the vespoid would end up doing that allowing her to grab onto it's wings before tearing them off with her increased strength and using her feet to kick it to the ground. Once it was grounded it was child's play to finish it off since it was no longer as fast as it was in the air and was still reeling from it's injury. Once the threat was dealt with she would carefully gather the black spines and seal them into her mission scroll before leaving it wouldn't do to try and harvest the vespoid since she had no idea how to do such a thing without leaving it's scent on her which would probably only end up attracting more of it's kin to her. Either way she would make it back to the village in good time nodding at the gate guards when she passed them and making her way back to the mission office to hand in her completed mission.
