New Scales Beginnings (Mystery Island, Northern Abyssal)

I rolled 1, 3 & 1 for Day/Night, Weather & Time of Day. Which means due to being in the Abyssal Ocean that it's Daytime during a Solar Eclipse and the weather is a Thunderstorm. So...essentially night-time conditions with probably rain once the topic continues on though thunder and lightning will be constant throughout.

Please be mindful that the N. Abyssal is the Weakest Sea and if unable to reference strength please see Mission Information. This is her 3rd Topic in terms of chronology if needed as a reference (Difficulty spikes increase for every 3 topics). If you wish to see my former topics, please ignore the latter half of "To Victory comes a Storm" as San did not realize he was scaling up enemies to match Calypso's strength instead of sticking to this sea's level of strength. However "The Storm Cometh" is a better example at least in regards to creature encounters.

Description: Pirates have a rather odd ability when it comes to their senses. They possess reaction tiers but not like a normal person, rather they are very good at detecting the wealth that someone has. When they aren't directly looking at someone they have D-Rank- reaction tiers, however upon focusing on someone for at least three rounds they gain an understanding of their wealth depending on the type of pirate and also count as having D-Rank+ reaction tiers against the person that they were focusing on until the end of the topic.

Name: Trick Speed

Description: Kukinorite are special in that they use a pair of special skates to trigger their latent abilities and control the elements through movement. Trick speed is a technique which revolves around the momentum of the skates as one moves across the field. Just like any object, one must build up momentum to go fast. The more momentum you create the faster you go. Trick Speed allows the Kukinorite to move quicker and quicker over time (running speed only). At first the Kukinorite moves just slightly above normal running speed (Swift Release) and the longer they keep up their momentum the more it will increase. Every 10 posts (total) the momentum will increase by 1 rank in speed (running speed only).

If the Kukinorite comes to a halt the momentum will restart at D rank. Using the brakes on the skates the Kukinorite can slow down to a lower speed as long as they don't come to a stop, but will start over with the momentum building (posts will revert to needing 10 for the next rank in speed). These skates are uniquely designed to withstand the pressure from the speeds, resulting in no recoil to the skates or Kukinorite. The skates are also designed so as to not have a sudden increase in speeds through techniques, negating any use of speed boosting to them as a safety precaution. If one does manage a way to boost their speed up through some means the sudden force will shatter the skates, requiring a Rikigaku Mechanic or Blacksmith to fix them.

However, they do have a small mechanism that will allow them a total of 5 posts to move at blinding light speeds before they break. It is highly recommended not to use it though as breaking your skates will result in losing your access to Kukinorite techniques and you will not be given a new pair. (For movement speeds, running, this technique will work separately of speed tiers while the rest of the body will only work with speed tiers.)

Description: The “Shadows” of the Kukinorite’s are a manifestation of their killing intent and/or fighting spirit. Because of this the “Shadows” can only be seen at certain points when the user’s killing intent and/or fighting spirit are at their highest. It has a unique effect where while active it makes use of the victims Intimidation Limit which is equal to their fatigue limit, but when used in conjunction with actual Killing Intent the amount the victim's I.L depletes is doubled. With each post (total) a Kukinorite's Shadow is out it constantly reduces the Intimidation limit, once fully exhausted the victims will be completely intimidated where they will faint for a period of time, however Barrier tiers equal to the user’s rank can make the victims immune to intimidation. These moments are usually at the beginning of a battle, used for intimidation purposes, or when the user uses one of their high ranking or signature techniques, Infinity Atmosphere techniques. Since the “Shadows” represent only a single person’s killing intent and/or fighting spirit every Kukinorites’s shadows take different appearances and as the user improves their “Shadows” will also improve, changing in appearance. Now if two Kukinorite’s were to do a combination jutsus, “Shadows” will also be shown but the appearance will be a fusion of the two “Shadows.”

The opponent would require reaction tiers equal to the speeds or higher that he's traveling to even notice he's moved from his original spot.

Description: Pirates are generally known for being fairly strong and they need to be to fight against the components of the ship and even more so when it comes to swimming. With this technique the pirate has equivalent C-Rank- strength tiers on their upper body however their lower body counts as having Tier+ as a Pirate is made more for swimming than normal feats of strength. In addition, this technique details the speed that a pirate is capable of swimming depending on the type of water that they are swimming through, causing them to move faster or slower depending on the state of the water.

Description: This is a Medical Taijutsu fighting style created by Zelana Yaju to allow the treatment of those by individuals who lack the ability to utilize chakra. This includes First Aid techniques geared at providing a rapid response and Surgery which requires the use of items specifically geared at the use for medical treatment & finally the use of consumables and techniques involving their refinement or increasing their utility when prescribed to patients of a Doctor. The thing is Medicine isn't an exact science thus often times the techniques of this fighting style can and will fail, this is dependent on the skill of the Doctor in question as well as the rank of techniques that they are using however all of the techniques in this style consume stamina prices as it is rather tiring for Doctors to treat individuals. The commonality is that when in the middle of combat treating individuals results in a halved success chance in comparison to outside of battle, however skilled doctors can increase their efforts resulting in a stamina price to utilize any Actual Medical Treatment techniques at their normal rates of success.

Description: As someone trained in doctoring, Garm has learned where in the body deals the most damage and can be the hardest to fix up. This combined with her sharp claws and her Blaze element makes for a deadly strike. With the Surgical Strike she aims specifically for the joints in the shoulders, knees and elbows where she can deal the most damage. Simply stabbing in to their skin, she deals a portion of Blaze Release Hybrid Damage equivalent to a C-rank, thn can likewise inflict a burn which afflicts her target each post (total) dependent upon her rank. The burn can be resisted however by those who possess C-rank Defense Tiers, however due to her application of Actual Medical Treatment this technique has a percent chance (Dice Roll) of bypassing this resistance to inflict the burn depending on her rank. Healing this burning damage requires a B-rank Medical Technique or a C-rank Medical Technique specifically geared towards treating burns.

Description: A technique Garm created specifically for combat aboard an enemy ship, exhaling a stream of black fire up to 10 ft away, Garm can spread her harsh flames across the ground and scorching it. This technique is designed to destroy ships, burning through non-fireproof surfaces with relative ease while the flames spread along the surface every P.T. Close proximity to this fire alone has an effect on opponents, inflicting C-rank Pain and due to the heat -2 Stamina unless they have a Heat Resistance based technique C-rank or above. Any object without C-rank Heat Resistance is set ablaze dealing C-rank Blaze Release Hybrid damage per P.T burning until either put out or the object is completely burnt up.

Description: The purpose of the Gravity Children project was to create humans whose bodies can withstand the strain from the Roads. This was done by tapping into the latent Defense tier trait that connects the other humans to their Ronin brethren. Altering that gene to meet the need, rather than offering protection from physical techniques, the bodies of the Gravity Children provide protection from the recoil of using the Roads. Starting with little protection, D-rank, by training their bodies, 1000 word training once per week, the Gravity Child can increase the amount of strain their bodies can withstand, capping at S-rank. However, due to constant use of the Roads, the Gravity Child’s protection from strain does not remain constant, if the Gravity Child goes a prolonged amount of time without training, in terms of weeks, their ability to withstand strain will reduce by 1-rank, essentially requiring the Gravity Child to constantly train their bodies. Depending on how high their original training it would require less to get back in shape (reduced word count) similarily depending on the age of the Gravity Child the amount of time that can pass for them to become out of shape also varies.

Description: Drawing from the principles of the Wáṣerotapa fighting style this is one of the most basic types of movement in which the user expands on the philosophy of Bounce this time bending the knees along with the shifting motion in order to jump skyward enhancing the natural jumping ability of the user. The object of this is to propell one's body using the least amount of momentum and force possible relying solely on the muscles in one's calf and foot to launch one upward. Through practice the user is able to use this as a basis for some of the more advanced moved but primarily it is used to extend the user's jumping ability without the use of strength tiers. This is due to the way the user rises upward and when falling down due to gravity downward kicks are given more force depending on how high the user was prior to dropping down. Increased tiers only increases the lethality and use of this technique as it makes use of the user's tiers to increase the jumping distance of the user.

Description: This is the second basic trick which is based on a combination of Wing's Gravity Control and Over's Backdraft which proceed to form a new Principle. Storm Chaser involves the use of active weather conditions Storms in particular which are used to heighten the rider's capabilities in battle. This is seen during a "Run" as by riding within a Storm they are find slipstreams which generate low-pressure area easing the burden of their bodies to boost their speed and air mobility. This causes any technique which requires movement tier checks to require 1-rank Lower (Strength, Speed etc) while likewise increasing the rider's speed depending on the power of the storm they are riding in.

Description: Req. Storm Chaser & Nimbostratus. A twist of the Wing Trick with the same name, the rider learns how to twist a Stratus Cloud into a denser form preforming a spinning flip in the air. This, upon completion of the flip is then used to hammer an opponent into the ground while travelling up to 5 ft before dispersing and leaving a 1 ft radius crater if an opponent is bashed into a solid object such as the ground. This technique is notable for dealing Storm Release physical damage equal to the user's strength while the speed that they preform the flip determines how far an opponent flies upon being struck by the dense sphere of a stratus cloud.

Description: The third basic trick which is based on a combination of Wing's Catching Moon Drops, Rising's Field & Lather's Saturate which proceed to form a new principle. Nimbostratus essentially involves the formation of storm clouds through utilizing differential pressure to charge moisture within the air. During one's run the sweat from their body fills the air and is pressurized with an electric charge being coursed through it creating Stratus Clouds which can be used as Storm Materia. These clouds are dark in coloration and vary in size depending on how fast the rider is moving and often are used as platforms for the rider to skate on in the air in order to not trigger a constant chakra drain when utilizing their AT's. Stratus Clouds do not last very long however depending on their skill level they have a set amount of time before disappearing when formed.

Description: This technique is the Pirate variation of the Body Flicker technique, taught only to Bounty Hunter's by the Yakuza, this is a movement technique (Speed Tiers) that allows the user to move at untraceable speeds from one point to another. Typhoon Turn works by storing kinetic energy (stamina) in one's body, double that of Accel Turn and it's variants, and then releasing that energy to achieve an explosive boost in speed (D-rank). This occurs either in rapid acceleration in a single movement (Typhoon) or boosted acceleration in fixed directions broken up into parts at a lower velocity which when combined together allows one to either move faster as a whole (Double, Quadruple), cover more distance (Triple, Quintuple) or when fully mastered a combination of all all three (Transcendent). This movement is unable to be seen with the naked eye however those with D-rank+ Reaction Tiers are able to track the user's movement despite their being no lag interval for them to exploit. Typhoon Turn goes by a simple naming system, where the first is simply 1 step while others stand for have many steps there are; 2 (Double), 3 (Triple), 4 (Quadruple), 5 (Quintuple) & the last is merely the mastered version of Typhoon (Transcendent) which is always preformed 6 steps.

Description: A rather simple style consisting of major usage of the fists with minor usage of the legs, similar to modern day Boxing in almost every sense. Following his own personal beliefs, King's mentor Kyoujin shows a boxing style similar to a Boxer-puncher and a Brawler, making him capable of enough movement to dodge and release enough force behind his punches that he can knock-out other people. King has refined this style to be more accurate so that those within the Bachiatari could have a powerful Taijutsu style and as such blows to the head will knock out someone with defense 1-rank lower than the user's strength tier, blows to the stomach will knock out opponents with defense 2-ranks lower than the user's strength tier and blows to the other parts of the body will induce a pain numbing effect to the body part hit softening them up for additional blows by the Titanic, Lupine or Howling Fist style. This style can likewise be used to kill opponents similar to the original incarnation of the fighting style with 2-ranks lower of defense to the body part hit being enough to kill the victim hit by one of his punches if they lack Endurance Tiers at a certain rank. An individual's stance in this Style is Orthodox.

Name: Straight

Description: The boxer throws his fist forward closing the distance between him and the opponent with it to deliver a jarring blow usually aimed at the face to knock the opponent out of sync and throw off their rhythm once it connects. It is specifically used to disrupt an opponent using taijutsu before it connects so long as the opponent is within 5 feet of the user and are moving at or below the speed of the straight when it is thrown.

Description: This technique is used to confuse opponents and make them react before punishing them for their false reaction. Feints resemble any of the boxer's punches hence why they are so dangerous however instead of completing the punch he changes it suddenly and delivers a different or even the same strike with his current or other arm. Due to the sudden change opponents with reaction tiers now need two-ranks higher speed than the speed of his strike to react to this change of tactics. Those with reaction tiers need equal rank reaction with 1-Tier level higher speed while those with speed slowing dojutsu need equal rank speed in order to react to this change of tactics. Multiple Feints can be used in quick succession to further confuse the opponent and when combined with Bob, Weave, or Leap it acts in the place of delivering a strike speeding up or seemingly increasing in power while merely being a false strike to increase the probability that the opponent will fall for it.

If building is Less than or ~54 ft high then she utilizes Flip.
If not then she uses Kick-Off again for 16 more feet (which if the building is less than or ~70 ft high she'll then use Flip)

When using Flip (+C-rank strength), she ascends 1 ft (leaving 15 ft of vertical ascension left from Kick-off) and then angles the remaining 15 ft of her flip to land on top of the building or at least to the side so she could grip a hand hold and not fall.

Description: Drawing from the principles of the Wáṣerotapa fighting style this is one of the most basic types of footwork learnable in which the user bends the knees while either running along a vertical surface or landing on it before kicking off of it with a single leg. This causes the user to flip while tucked into a ball before coming in contact with another vertical surface while dropping down a few feet. This technique involves using her leg muscles to push off in a manner similar to jumping however it differs in that she uses gravity along with her acceleration to assist her movement. The distance at which she can "Kick off" off of walls is initially 5ft allowing the user to cross distances via just this method of travel though when using strength this becomes another method of facilitating powerful strikes as the speed of the next kick is boosted by 1-rank. As long as the user reaches another vertical surface without exceeding the max amount of distance able to be covered by the kickoff this technique can be repeated multiple times dependent on the user's skill level.

Description: Drawing from the principles of the Wáṣerotapa fighting style this is one of the most basic types of movement in which the user flips ither forward or back to put additional force onto a strike or to put distance between her and an opponent to likewise deliver additional force to opponents moving towards her. This all relies on distance with the damage multiplier for her strike increasing relative to the distance between her and his opponent. When she flips forward if the opponent is within either a foot OR 4 feet of her as she launches the kick they sustain normal damage, if they are in between 2-3 feet they sustain double the knockback while if they are between 1-2 feet they sustain triple the knockback from the strike. Likewise when she jumps back opponents moving towards her to bridge that gap likewise suffer the same predicament with the follow up strike. "Flips" distance and speed increases with the user's tiers, each speed tier allows her to dodge strikes with a flip back equal to the speed she is moving while each strength tier increases the distance of the leap by five feet.
