Hope kurogane’s new techniques "Mantis" Name: praying mantis Classification: fighting style Rank: N/A Class: offensive/ defense Range: contact
Description: the praying mantis is a fighting style hope created by adding his life release to movements comparable to a mantis. Using this fighting style adds offense and defense with its short, yet quick movements. With the addition of hope’s life release he can add piercing damage equal to the rank of his bones. It generally doesn’t run off the regular rules of most hand-to-hand fighting style, as the mantis style uses slow preparation movements to make one’s self seem bigger than the opponent in front of them; hopefully causing them to flee.
Name: praying mantis: push Classification: taijutsu Rank: C Class: defense Range: self
Description: Praying Mantis: push is the basic of basic for a praying mantis. a praying mantis will invite a physical attack from the enemy, only to effectively push the strike away from them. Hope has taken note of this, as it has happened time and time again. Push seems to have two mechanics it relies on before becoming effective, one of those two is that the mantis will use the same hand as the strike to push it out of the way. The second mechanic is that they must push the arm away from them, which will throw the attacker of balance cause him to require tiers equal B-rank to react to a C-rank counterattack. The push technique requires the user to be faster than the attacker to do effectively push the move, if speed tiers are equal the opponent will not need B-rank tiers to react, instead they'll need a C+ reaction to reach to a attack of a C-rank. attacker's speed - hope's speed tier in order to push effectly C - C+ B - B+ A - A+
effective counterattack speed/rank - reaction to defend D - C C - B B - A A - S
normal counterattack speed/rank - reaction tier required D - D+ C - C+ B - B+ A - A+ S - S+
Name: praying mantis: sight intimidation Classification: genjutsu Rank: C Class: offense Range: A.o.E
Description: Praying mantis are seen stretching out their arms to make an opponent believe they are facing someone larger than them, hope interpreted this into his own version. This genjutsu is activated at will, its trigger is the sight of looking at him. During the time of this genjutsu anyone who glances away him will believe they are viewing the chakra levels of a chunnin, this will cause those who look at him to become feared of going against him; this will often cause people who viewed his false chakra to required a "+" tier of reaction plus the rank of his technique, to move away from him without cowering in fear. If one possess barrier of C-rank they will believe that he only has the levels of a C-rank, but if they posses B-rank barrier tiers they wont be affected.
Name: praying mantis: grapple hook Classification: nintaijutsu Rank: B Class: offense Range: contact
Description: this technique comes from the fact that all mantis possess two scythe like claws, which are used to hold there prey. Hope was able to convert such methods into his own techniques, by coming in contact with hope his fingers turn into short claws which cause piercing damage equal to the home density of hope. While hope has his prey shoulders locked it takes B-rank strength to overpower him, if the prey hasnt removed themselves from hope's grasp within 5 p.t. he will drag them towards himself, which will then be held by his ribs causing the target an 6 additional piercing damage. After hold his prey close for 2 (p.t.) he will release them leaving them with a total of eight wounds, during the time he is holding them with his ribs they are paralysed unless they possess endurance tiers equal to B-rank. (Strength can be substituted for speed, but speed must be A-rank)
