The sun had just set however the formerly sunny day hadn't quite settled in yet and thus it was still quite hot. The five cloaked individuals had been travelling for quite sometime now, conserving their energy to remain incognito. Mavis was in the back of the others essentially bringing up the rear while they traveled south knowing fully well that it was their best bet to arrive at Pandora without interruptions. The Black dome was far too dangerous to reliably cut through it, while travelling in a more open environment was just inviting annoyances by the name of bandits or missing nin to attempt to delay them. Sure Orion had said they should hurry up but they hadn't done such moving at normal running speed so while they were covering ground it wasn't as quick as they could of.

Still Mavis was in a good mood, sure enough the arid environment only allowed her to gloat over her teammates, she was by no means tired but not because she was conserving her energy but because this was an environment that she felt very much suited to. It was hot, it was dry and soon enough they would have to climb hills, which she could already make out. It wasn't cloudy and thanks to that the ground was illuminated by a combination of the sun vanishing beyond the horizon and the stars littering the sky. The travel had been quiet for the most part they traveled quicker when they didn't argue among themselves still Mavis wasn't sufficiently bored just yet to make a conversation. She did however want something to happen even if it was just happening upon a creature anything to break up the constant sound of running footsteps and clinking of equipment.

Ananse traveled neither at the front nor following up the rear, perfectly centered between the two points yet drifted far enough to the side to zone out and quite paying attention to whatever bickering that may pop up. What a boring job so far, no action, no friendly conversation, nothing decent to look at, just crap. Total crap. A small sigh would escape his lips as he continued to be on his way, itching to just find some kind of decent setup and build a nice web to lay and wait in. The art of success is in patience after all, you trap, you mobilize, you conquer...then you eat. The thought slowly began to snowball as soon he began to imagine how his fellow teammates would taste, how they'd differ in texture...Damn he was hungry. Cannibalism wasn't uncommon in Pandora, but one does wonder how people would react to thoughts like those, if only they knew a few think of them as meat, a source of food. Again...this was such a boring job. Ananse was subconsciously changing his stepping pattern just to break up the monotony.

“If push comes to shove, you know what to do.” Melinda whispered to her companion as they lead the group that was traveling through the savannah. Though she was the one that was tasked with watching over the barrel that held the trash, she wasn’t resigned to use the barrel as some sort of shield in the event that the other four meat shields failed to their job. After all what would be more funny than witnessing the kid’s saviors being the one’s that ended up killing him and if that had happened she would just blame it on Mavis or Kendell as they would be most likely the first to die in the event that something would happen, though truthfully she had silently hoped that nothing would happen. It wasn’t that she was afraid of combat, which was far from it, but she would rather this mission to go as smoothly as possible so that Orion wouldn’t bitch at her for failing to complete the mission.

Mavis kept moving forward, Kendall was no where in sight having decided to scout ahead which made sense considering she had the most all terrain mobility in comparison to the rest of them. "Bored." Mavis decided to speak maybe entice the others into conversation and by others she meant their former leader since the other two probably wouldn't talk much. "Boooooored" she'd draw it out hoping to gradually annoy Melinda into talking to her though if that didn't work she would start up a conversation anyways. "So Melly whatcha gonna do when we get back home huh? I'm thinking of Going down to the labs and messing with some of the prisoners. Did you know their eyes light up when you pretend your going to set them free and it's so amusing when their hopes are dashed it's like a kicking a puppy that's too stupid to run away from you and instead keeps walking back to the very foot that kicked it." she skip as she spoke in a sing-song voice yet still managing to maintain the same speed and underneath her cloak she bore a wide grin on her face.

Kendall was out with Atticus scouting out the surrounding area to make sure they had the quickest route possible. They kept their eyes out for any obstacles that could hinder their way through, or any beasts that might be too much if they crossed paths or anyone that may be following them. All Kendall saw though was a large beast off in the distance. After making his patrol Kendall headed back to the group. The first indication that he had arrived would be the shadow appearing above the group before Kendall came into view, gliding down alongside them. "Coast is clear. Though a Fierce Tigrex seems to be about a mile or two to our left. It's heading in the same direction we are but it seems more like its hunting. As long as we stay on course we should be able to scurt around the fucker safely," Kendall reported in before flapping his wings to gain a little more altitude.

Ananse continued moving forwards blankly, not bothering to associate with the conversations around him. I mean why would he, they aren't exactly the friendliest bunch. For a moment he'd lick his lips in anticipation of a possible fight, yet it is disappointing to think that it may not even come to pass. Its been so long already and there are no enemies in sight besides a damn tigrex, which is fodder in the eyes of these savages. Or at least it was to him, though it may be a bit too much for Kendall to handle. Laughing on the inside at his silent jab at the coworker, he'd dart forwards, moving up towards the front line on par with Mavis. He considered speaking for a moment, trying to figure out more about this job and why it they were on such a boring assignment, but managed to bite his tongue. Orders are orders, and the paycheck was decent, enough to satisfy his extracurricular activities for quite awhile. In any case, he was absoluately linked into the same mindset as Mavis, as he too, still felt extremely bored.

Though she hated to agree with Mavis, this mission was as dull as watching paint dry. But she would still stick to her belief that it was better off this way as the sooner they were able to deliver the Jiko turd to Telarossa-sama, the sooner she would be able to get out of this boiling sun. Melinda would begin to pick up the pace in order to put some distance between her and the annoying girl but unfortunately she wasn’t moving fast enough since Mavis was able to catch up to her. “I’ll probably be watching over this kid to see how strong he really is, maybe he’ll be good enough to replace Kendell or Ananse when they die, then again if we replaced them with logs there probably wouldn’t be much a difference.” Melinda said with a sly grin before tossing the barrel over to Miguel, as it was his turn to carry kid. Miguel as usual offered no complaints as he caught the barrel and placed it under his arm before indicating to Melinda that Kendell had arrived from his sight-seeing trip. “Keep looking around, the last thing we need right now is an ambush.” Melinda ordered.

"Heh, who knows right? It'll be fun establishing the pecking order once again, maybe you might even regain your former position." Mavis would snicker at Melinda's comment before noticing the dark shape signifying that Kendall had returned. "A Tigrex huh, if only we weren't on a time limit I would say we should make a detour for food haven't had Rex meat in ages." she would slow back down to allow Ananse to catch up with her and when he didn't speak up she would sigh she actually thought she would be the one he'd talk to this month but apparently not. Instead they would just continue to trudge onwards further shortening the distance till they got to Pandora.

The idiots, he said fierce Tigrex not just a regular one. If they wanted to die they could go ahead and do it. But they all stayed on track. Nothing seemed to be happening here on ground level and Atticus hadn't spotted anything yet. So Kendall decided to head back to his patrol. These bitches were annoying to be around anyways. Kendall flapped his wings to gain altitude then began to glide around on the opposite end as Atticus, keeping an eye out for any dangers that may arrive.

Melinda was a pain. Always so superior and cocky. Establishing the pecking order? Hell Mel will be lucky to come out of this alive, even if the shinobi don't kill her, one of us might. Mavis was right once again though, food would be nice. Though Ananse's idea of a good meal may differ from everyone elses, Melinda would be the most satisfying to hunt, but he didn't have much confidence in her taste, its closer to tainted meat then anything. Mavis maybe? She could be quite a treat. Kendall probably tastes like crap. No offense. As Mavis dropped back, he considered speaking once more, after all, she was one of the nicer ones as far as the team goes. Quietly, he turned over and said his piece. "When do we kill her?" He was obviously referring to the bitch that just called him the equivalent of a log. It was a question which would most likely be taken as a joke, but was actually completely serious. Believe it or not, he has quite the silent temper.

It was funny how Ananse asked Mavis when they would kill her, implying that he wouldn’t be able to do it by himself, which was true of course after all he was nothing but a log that was used to complete the numbers of the group until they were able to find someone competent. But he was welcomed to try and attack her, it had been awhile since she was able to stamp her authority over someone in the group. “Don’t worry Ananse, we can settle this when we get back to Pandora, that is of course you’re too afraid to face me alone” Melinda said mockingly before chuckling. If he even wanted they could stop right now so she could grind him to dust and leave him there to confuse whoever would be chasing them.

"Wh- Tch it's not likely you ever fight alone anyways." Mavis said folding her arms with a pout, while she wasn't the type to get straight the point when it came to killing stuff like Ananse she did understand his sentiment. Then again the one she didn't get along the most with was Kendall but that was because the contradition didn't back off her man and stop trying to steal him away. Mavis would look up looking for the person in question and when she wasn't looking would throw up her middle finger, and continue moving along the way. "Besides we're probably going to have to do hierarchy battles again if the specimen we're taking to Telarossa-sama makes it he's probably going to stick him with us."

[ASN retrieval team enters]

Calesto was now leading the hunting party with his partner safely inside him, the two official leaders weren't too far behind him with the rest of the team. He could already tell that they were getting close to their main target and his escorts by the scent in the air, this caused the boy to grin as he looked back at the rest of his team. "We're catching up to them, although I have no doubt in my mind that maybe one of them were able to track just like me" He would say to Jazz and Summer as he ran through the desert at swift speeds, he wasn't going to risk running out of energy mid battle because he wanted to get to the target faster. Sure if there wasn't an enemy opposition up a head he would have ran out at full speed in order to get him back, but not if he was going to fight. "Liara, any chance you could leave a clone behind to help show the back up forces where we are?" He would say in a hushed tone so that the others in the team could not hear them.

Jazz would skate along, using her Trick Speed to maintain a sedate pace, she was thankful her AT's were for all terrains otherwise this would of been an annoyance to skate in. She was behind Calesto and Liara not wanting them to get too far ahead in case they ran into trouble, she looked back to check the others before turning forward again. For now she couldn't see anything but she knew that they had to be on the right track, he seemed like a reliable tracker along with his teammate they were just inexperienced but no better way of getting that experience but by trying it in the real world. "Soon Ka, we'll rescue you soon.. Then you'll tell me exactly why you thought with your stupid brain that becoming a missing-nin was a good idea." Jazz thought to herself tightening her fists in a mixture of anticipation and frustration, something common when it came to her teammates. She wondered what he was thinking even now, was he even awake or had those Pandora assholes kept him sedated, the thought of him helpless in the hands of the enemy made her uneasy. Especially since it was his own foolishness which had made him such easy pickings.

Summer was arched low to the ground as she ran, hands clamping her swords to her sides so they wouldn't clink and jangle as she moved. Her solitary visible eye scanned around the near wasteland they were running through. It narrowed and she let out a hiss through her nose before tilting her movement to draw up alongside Jazz. "We'll get him back. Don't worry. Keep pace with Calesto, I'll duck back and check on the others, try and soothe any worries. We'll be fighting soon, don't want anyone to get skittish on us, try and do the same for Calesto and Liara for me." She nodded and then slowed down a tad to let everyone catch up before speaking to Cherish and Omito. "Hey guys. We're getting pretty close, our little tracker seems to have picked up on a solid trail. If you have anything to say let me hear them okay? It's alright to be scared... These are some scary people we're fighting against but we aren't going to let them stop us. We're Team 10 after all, nothing can stop us when we're together." She told them, giving them both a bright smile and softly punching their shoulders before clasping her blades once more.

Cherish had closed her gourd with the cap so that she could move without the sloshing sounds of liquid or worse spilling it or alerting her opponents to the scent of alcohol. She had to reset her teeter dance a couple of minutes ago to keep up with the rest but for the most part she was fine. She was in the back along with Omito her eyes scanning the area and immediately grimacing this just wasn't her ideal battlefield arid, dry no water in sight. But it only made sense it was the Land of Madness it was mainly savannah especially when one headed south near the borders of Anguish or Graves, desert and wasteland respectively. She would perk up when Summer moved closer to them flashing a smile even though she was pensive about the situation. "I'm not scared of them, I'm more scared of either of you getting hurt. But your right we've trained we're stronger than we used to be so as a team we are only that much more powerful." Cherish said her fake smile replaced with a genuine one when Summer punched her shoulder to try and cheer her up along with Omito.

Liara of course was paying attention and listened to him. She figured that it would be a good idea to leave a clone behind, but not just any clone. Instead, Liara eased out a hand from Calesto's back and formed a handsign, creating a shadow clone directly behind calsesto. " Ok...this one will hang back..." The clone would say in a whisper as Liara put her hands back inside of calesto. Liara was definitely nervous, but she was quite prepared for the worst. Maybe she can heal them good enough, maybe.

Atticus spotted something off into the distance and flew off to Kendall, meeting him high in the air. He whispered to Kendall making Kendall's eyes shoot in the direction of the incoming envoy. He watched the direction for a moment till the envoy came into view as dots before deciding to shoot down to the group. "Hey! Quit your bitching and pay attention! We've got a group of five a couple clicks out. They are slowly catching up so we may need to pick up speed. Maybe its just a coincidence, but because their path is almost exactly even to ours I say we pick up and find another route. If we are being followed they must have some sort of tracker. Its too far for sight or sound to follow us after this distance. Meaning they have to be using smell. Its the only way to track at this kind of distance and I don't see a water source nearby. Plus the wind is not in our favor," said Kendall running over his observations. He knew he and Atticus weren't clearly known to the enemy if it was smell, they have been too far up and the wind is roughest up there so even with the smell it would be too difficult to track using most senses of smell. As far as the enemy probably figured there were four trails of smell, the three of Kendalls squad and their carry on. He looked to Melinda since she was the one in charge. If it was him he would hand the thing to him and Atticus then split the rest up as bait. Of course that plan beat suited him and getting rid of the rest. But what would she decide?

Ananse didn't want to fight here, the prey could get too close, and he couldn't best utilise his talents in such an open area. Change course was the best option, but where? Silence was also a pain to deal with, but the floating islands could be useful from an archery perspective, but Torment had the coverage of trees, which was close to his ideal environment, which would mean taking more of a northern approach. A scent tracker? It really depends on which scent they are tracking, though the best bet would be on the cargo's since he was the most accessible, and all they had to go on for the rest would have been the room they were in. None of these brainless jerks were likely to think of anything, so he had to speak up for once. "We need to split the cargo's scent." By covering all their scents in his own and separating into smaller groups, they could throw off the tracker break apart the opponents team strategies.

"There is a cave which we can use to get to Pandora if we keep heading south, I'll stay slow them down, I'm the slowest anyways, meanwhile you two can head through it, while the contradiction take the cargo and meets up with the boss at the meeting place. Near the border, it would take too long for all of us to scale the mountain together and my honey pot is getting hungry anyways. I'll catch up, besides didn't the boss, say we should make sure they never followed us again, I'm pretty sure that meant killing them." Mavis said with a clap of the hands as their fearless leader was taking too long to boot up her brain. "This way, we incorporate everyone's plan the scent is probably on all of us anyways except the contradiction who can move the fastest in comparison. Me stalling them will give you guys time to catch up with her and if they get past me they'll be lost among the cave network which is way more suitable for you three to fight than an open area like this. Which by the way is my favored fight location, not to mention thanks to those rocks up ahead I can get the high ground." she would talk as they kept moving pointing to the hills they were quickly approaching as the cave was somewhat off to the side.

This was because it was a series of hills which lead into a cliff chain yet the cave that the could entered went through it. Sure it was dangerous but it wasn't the first time they had traveled through it on the other hand their pursuers likely hadn't and thus they would have the terrain advantage. "Now hurry up and go before they catch up." she would hop onto a cliff and walk up not stopping until she was sufficiently elevated from the ground so she could cup her eyes and see exactly how many were pursuing them.

Calesto could hear the conversations being held within the group, and couldn't help but shoot Summer a dirty look when she called him "Little Tracker". Just who the hell did she think she was? If it wasn't for Liara and himself this hunting party would have been stuck back in Madness still looking for clues, then again Jazz did show an impressive ability that seemed to boarder on the post-cognitive side so I guess they would have been fine without him. However he wasn't going to let that hamper his spirits at all, in fact knowing that others had similar tracking skills that rivaled his own only seemed to stoke the fire in his belly. He thought competition among allies was good for morale purposes, however he could smell the anxiety coming from each of his team mates. If Jazz did come up to him and Liara to try and settle his spirits he would simply grin while running towards the targets, determined to get a name for himself in the hunting department. "Don't waste your words Jazz, I'm more then prepared to do whats necessary to get Ka back. What kind of hunter would I be if I let the target get away from me, sets a bad reputation you know" He would say before his sense of smell picked up something odd, one of the targets seemed to have stopped moving while the others seemed to pick up the pace. So once again he would look back at the rest of the hunting party, still grinning as he knew the fun was about to start. "Smells like one of them is hanging back, no doubt to try and slow us down. So what's the plan boss?"

Jazz would nod, before heading up but before she could speak Calesto would speak up on his own causing her to chuckle. "Fair enough." Jazz muttered in reply though his next words did make her grimace yet again, they knew that they were being tracked by a group and yet one of them decided to stay back instead of all of them fighting them as a group. Either that person was either confident in their ability to handle group combat, was underestimating the hunting party or it was a trap of some kind. "If we all stay to fight this person it's likely that they'll buy enough time for the others to get farther away." she thought to herself looking back towards Summer for instructions it was her call but she knew that there had to be some sort of ploy for one of the Pandora Knights to do something like that. Whoever it was wouldn't take kindly to being ignored but a distraction would mean one of them would have to engage the opponent while they others used that window to keep going.

"I'm not staying back, Calesto & Liara are needed to track, Summer is needed to command so it comes down to either Cherish or Omito. Of the two Omito is stronger and also not a medic, so he would be the best option. But if they sent the slowest to stall us then bringing Cherish along would slow us down, just one of those gourds is heavy and judging from the way she was lagging behind the others she's the slowest member of the hunting party. So if they pick up the pace it would make sense for her to deal with the member left here while the others continue forward." her thoughts would proceed to plan based on who was most needed to continue and frankly in her thoughts she considered Cherish to be the weakest non absolutely necessary member of the Hunting Party. Especially Jazz had some medical skill and the chakra reserves to cover for Cherish's role if necessary not that the others knew about that.

"Hanging back to try and slow us down, damn it." Summer growled and grit her teeth together before looking around the team. She took a deep breath and then looked towards Cherish. "We know that of the group here, myself and Jazz are the strongest, they wouldn't have left their strongest behind when they could be guarding the target. Calesto and Liara are needed to track down the target. Cherish, I know you're strong and capable and you've got a lot of tricks you've been wanting to test. Don't hold back on them, you hear me? I need you to fight them and crush them before regrouping with the rest of us." Summer wrapped an arm around her friend even as they were running and gave her a squeeze. "I believe in you, Cherish, we all do. Everyone, move past we need to keep up with the target, we can't let them get away!"

She then grinned wickedly and placed her hand on her sword. "Now one last thing, Cher... Armour up." She said and flicked her sword out at Swift Release speeds, the sword being Glimmer. Hopefully cherish would know what to do but they had practiced the combo enough that she was sure to. With that done she sped up and caught up to the vanguard. "Okay guys, we're just going straight past." She whispered to them before waving Omito up. "Calesto, lead us on, buddy... We're going to get Ka back... Whether these Pandoran schmucks like it or not!"

Melinda and Miguel would exchange a quick glance after hearing Kendell’s announcement. Though Melinda had wished for this mission to be as straight forward as possible, it seemed that the Jiko’s friends were hell-bent on getting him back. The thought of having Miguel rip open the barrel and tear the kid limb from limb crossed her mind, after all, if he was dead they would probably give up on chasing them, and when they got back to Pandora someone could just resurrect him, win win situation right? Probably not. “Well then let’s get this show on the road. Good luck Mavis, try not to die.” It wasn’t that she cared for the annoying girl, she just didn’t want the ASN on Pandora’s little secret. “Let’s go Miguel, Ananse.” She commanded as she began picking up the pace heading for the cave south of the savannah. Miguel would hurl the barrel upwards towards Kendell, hoping he wouldn’t fuck this one up this time.

"I'm always armored and you be careful." Cherish said turning her head just enough so that light could reflect against her layered skin the sudden introduction of chakra wouldn't do anything more than to further bolster the layer of rock hardening it further with the introduction of diamond release chakra. She would keep moving after she broke off her hug with Summer and if possible would give a hug to Omito before setting off while the rest of the group split off just like apparently the people they were trailing did. They were still far away though about 50 or so feet but she fully expected to be the main person attracting the Knight's attention seeing as unlike the rest she was heading straight towards them instead of veering off to the side. She would go through hand seals as she continued to get closer prepping just in case but she wanted to buy enough time for the others to get away before she cut loose.

She'd end the hand seals on Rat and as she kept moving the ground would rumble a bit before a dragon comprised of earth would burst from the ground where she was standing on. She would adhere herself to it using chakra flow as it moved upward and would burst forward at vacuum release speeds with Cherish at the head. Sorry to inconvience you but, your opponent is me!" Cherish would exclaim while riding the Medium (S) sized construct of earth towards the individual standing on top of the hills. It was showy but that was the point, the more attention on her the better it was, besides she had been meaning to use this technique anyways after all it was a gift from her sensei.
