Another day, Another... (gobuhaio)

Gobuhaio left the cave heading east however it wasn't like he was going to go get into a fight without getting a bit prepared, he refused to have another dead goblin on his hands. he showed the group on of his skills that were helpful at walking around and going unnoticed, he taught the group how to use the skill light steps. once he showed the a few times and explained it to them, he sat down while they practiced that move. gobuhaio would close his eyes and try to focus on gather his mana into his hand until it is successful, afterward if he still had enough time he would focus on channeling that mana into his hind cub femar.

It would seem that Gobuhaio's unlucky streak was somewhat continuing but then again this time he had quite a lot of numbers so chances are he could come out on top without any deaths this time around. The reason for this was because a pack of Black pups were on the prowl and though Gobubunk & Gobuana learned how to use Lightsteps the other three didn't seem capable of grasping the concept. Either way their noises had attracted the Black Pups who decided to conceal their presence and with Gobuhaio focusing on himself to try and access the energy inside, it would take a miracle for his group to not be ambushed. Still so far it didn't seem as if he was successful in directing his mana perhaps if he tried longer he'll be able to unlock it.

Seeing that his main two had learned the skill he smiled a bit when they announce they understood the skill and were able to do it without much fail, clearly it was time to teach these two a different skill. The perfect skill for them was something that would help boost the use of ambush, and within a matter of seconds he thought of something perfect, climbing. He placed both his hands onto the tree before digging his nails into it in a attempt to climb the tree, if he was successful in learning the skill he’d explain to them exactly how this works; if not he’d just have to explain the concept to gobuana and gobubunk.

He would use observe on the 5 goblins then on the tree he’d attempted to climb, he follow this up with observe the bushes around him to see if he could find any details about them.

Once he was done with explaining it to them, he return to the other three knuckleheads who can’t seem to grasp the simple light steps, well that was less of their fault and more of his fault as a teacher. He explained once again to the even showed them how to do it twice more before showing them exactly how’d it be used in situations. He walked lightly on his heels towards the bushes before returning back to the middle of the group and sitting down to practice on controlling his mana once more, whether or not he fail, he would attempt a random prayer of guidance hoping he would get the attention of a demigod or something.

Skills:

Gobuhaio would get the bright idea to try and climb the nearest tree to him unfortunately it was difficult as there weren't any low hanging branches and he would fruitlessly cling onto the trunk for a little bit making no progress at all. It would actually cause Gobuobe to chuckle, before stifling it when Gobusera glared at her for making fun of Gobuhaio's failure. On the other hand Gobutanto was dejectedly looking at the ground as he hadn't been able to learn the light steps skill that Gobuhaio had tried to teach him. As for Gobuana and Gobubunk they had been watching Gobuhaio carefully as he had just shown that he had more skill than them and they were eager to try and learn something new unfortunately he failed and they instead would decide to try on their own, with both of them actually managing to succeed, clearly these two were in the top percentile of goblins how lucky of him.

Either way when Gobuhaio turned to observe the other three he would see three blurs dart out of the bushes streaking right for them. It would seem that one of them was a bit more skilled than the other's the clear alpha of the pup pack seeing as it managed to get to Gobuobe before the other two. It would clamp it's jaws around her neck causing her to let out a cry of terror and pain whereas the other two would do the same to Gobusera and Gobutanto however unlike Gobuobe due to her scream they already began to pull away causing them to merely get bit but they were able to scramble away and not get pulled down to the ground like Gobuobe. Now the hunt was afoot would the goblins strike back against these Black Pups or shall they cut their losses and flee.

"these two must be genius" he thought to himself, seeing as they were able to learn something, he could only theorize for them to understand. A slight feeling of happiness came across him almost as if could cry, from would then look toward the other three who were practicing light step; gobuhaio turned around to see a quick flash of speed attack and take down gobuobe. due to her scream it allowed the other two to react to the attack and defend themselves. Any good strategist would see this as a point to return back to base and get help, but gobuhaio wasn't that person; currently only moving off of pure rage and anger. his eyes lit up as he thought about the situation that lead to the death of that other goblin.

Gobuhaio Charged at the black pup alpha and would use his hind cub femar to swing and smack the alpha pup in the right eye, even if it was enough to make the alpha let go of his minion he would swing the femar downward at the cub's neck.

Seeing gobuhaio single handedly charge into the fight gobuana and gobubunk would leap down from the tree and charge at the alpha as well, since they didn't have weapons like gobuhaio, they would kick the cub's stomach. gobutanto and gobusera would look at the remaining cubs, tanto would kick the cub that attack sera in the right eye while sera would do the same thing to the cubs other eye.

If gobuhaio's group was able to kill the alpha pup he would try to recruit the other pup if not the pup would have much other options.

Black pups weren't stupid, in fact they are smarter than goblins which says a lot considering Goblins were goblins and had opposable thumbs and stuff. Still rather than let go of Gobuobe's neck the Black Pup would keep hold of her biting down to get a better grip causing her cries of pain to intensify and then using her as a Goblin shield while retreating when Gobuhaio came in swinging causing the leader of this pack of Goblins to actually kill his own. Due to this it was unlikely that Gobuhaio would be able to follow-up with his smash due to him potentially being demoralized, however if he did manage to go ahead the retreating Black Pup would try to dodge and protect itself with it's now tenderized meal to only sustain a glancing blow from his smash before it fully turned around and fled. The other two black pups wouldn't stick around either instead they would turn tail and run away dodging the kicks sent their way by the two Goblins they had just bit. They would meet up with their "alpha" and growl at Gobuhaio essentially covering it's retreat and forcing the goblins to either chase after them or cut their losses. This was because Black Pups were not only smarter than Goblins but also faster and they could easily see that fighting a battle such as this wasn't in their favor.

gobuhaio dropped down to his knees as he'd accidently killed someone who had just joined him, he looked around at his surrounding before picking up 7 sticks and only two rocks. One by one he used the rocks to sharpen the ends of the sticks before standing to his feet, leaving the 7 sharpened sticks on the ground. "I am going after the cubs, and you guys are fighting with me." he commanded to the group, before announcing to them "you all will take these sticks us." he handed out the sticks giving two longer ones to gobubunk and shorter ones to gobuana, the rest took one a piece.

Gobuhaio would use observe on the spot where he had killed gobuoba, he would notice the trail of blood and follow it using light steps while attempting to use sneak. the two goblins who had learned light steps would follow him in attempting to learn sneak, while the other two would attempt to learn both of these skill.

before arriving to the eating grounds for the black pups, gobuhaio advised the team on the current plan. the two genius would climb nearby trees then use light step and climb to relocate themselves behind the black cubs. gobuhaio and the two dunces would the cubs. gobuhaio's ground force would aim to take out the eyes of the alpha by having gobutanto and gobusera swing the sticks into the eyes of the alpha pup, once that was done gobuhaio would use smash on the alpha's head and with no way of actually seeing him the pup would be shit of luck with dodging his attack.

Gobuhaio had just experienced a loss which was why he was to be forgiven when rather than finding that many sticks he only found 5 and a single rock. Still his plan had merit and he would try to use the rock to sharpen the sticks causing one of them to break, two of them to not really get sharpened just less dull really whereas two of them were actually sharpen to the degree that a stick could get sharp leaving him with two makeshift weapons and two slightly pointy sticks. Still his speech would rouse them from their shock though it would seem that both Gobusera and Gobutanto were reluctant to keep going due to their injuries, Gobuana & Gobubunk were more willing to go but the former was wary of those Black Pups, while the latter was ready to follow Gobuhaio in following after them. It would seem he was at an impasse as he could tell the other two to head back and continue with the remaining two or he could attempt to persuade or intimidate the other two into coming with them so as to have a group of five. What would he do...

Spoiler:

Seeing that the group was dedicated on avoiding the battle with the pups, he would command the group to search for berries rather than chasing after the pups. Through frustration he would command the group to head home rather than heading to the pups, he would once again try his luck at the command skill before observing 3 bushes while doing that he would order each goblin to get a set of 5 sticks and 5 stones before they would go home together.

It would seem while his first orders hadn't reached them his command to find berries, was much more well received, it would seem that with repetition one could succeed in winning over their fellow goblins. However despite this it would seem his instructing left him unable to find anything fortunately the two injured goblins were a lot more motivated to learn how to forage and they covered his deficit. As for the other two it would seem as if their recent skill acquisition seemed to only extend to movement stuff as it didn't seem like they were able to learn how to forage like the other two. Perhaps that meant different goblins were just innately better at other things perhaps Gobuhaio had been discounting that particular reasoning when he compared Gobuana and Gobubunk to Gobusera and Gobutanto,

gobuhaio, gobubunk, and gobuana would sneak while using light steps through the forest every so often gobuhaio would command the two to stop before using observe to check the nearby area for any signs of food for them to hunt. The point of today's hunt was to secure enough meat to bribe the others of the neutral faction to join his own and still have enough to feed, well it was better to focus on feeding his own faction today and work his way up.

They would continue to move through the forest before they would see the moon partially blocked as something flew overhead, this particular monster was only out and about at night unless it was disturbed as such the goblins wouldn't recognize the bat flying in the air which was just as large as them. It would continue flying overhead but it seemed as if it hadn't noticed them yet and was heading towards the north, would they follow or would they just continue on their way time would only tell.

gobuhaio would observe in the bushes and in the tree, while scanning the sky the assortment of colors would draw his attention, he would then point to the bat "look" he commanded softly, trying to not catch the attention of the flying object. the other two would look immediately "That will lead us to food" he whispered softly before using sneak and light foot to follow it, in case of the flying object leading the group to another source of food; which the other would do the same.

Gobuhaio and Gobuana would find it quite easy to track the Four Color Bat through the sky whereas Gobubunk would manage to keep up with them due to just following their lead. Sure enough eventually it would lead them further up north before stopping at a tree and hanging upside down for a bit in order to rest. It would flap it's wings a bit but it would seem that it still hadn't noticed them yet and their stealth would be constant.

Gobuhaio would to the other two hunter is his party while his finger pointed directly at the flying object, it was almost too perfect, but the though soon came to him that he couldn't climb trees like brother bunk or gobuana. "Climb the tree and hit it with your weapons, remember to stay quite while you move." he Commanded in a soft tone so that he wouldn't be heard. Gobubunk and gobuana would climb the while using sneak, once they were close enough to the bat they would use light step with climb in order to hold their balance; when they finally get close enough they would unleash a fury of attacks on the bat gobuana would pull out her twin short sharpened sticks to preform an attack with both hands onto it. while gobubunk would swing his long sharpened stick to hit it across the little body it did have.

gobuhaio would observe from the ground while remaining to use sneak in order to eventually have a chance to attack if it came low enough.

The two of them would successfully manage to sneak up to the Four Color Bat before attacking it, Sera wouldn't get the hang of using the sticks to rapidly stab into it causing it to screech briefly before it was cut off by Gobubunk ending it's life by smashing it's head open with his stick. Unfortunately it would seem the screech had attracted more bats though these ones were a bit different primarily because they only had two colors namely black and white and both would screech before swooping down at Gobuhaio as the other two were in the trees and thus more precarious to target. "Look out!" Gobuana would say as the Monochrome bats swooped in.

Gobuhaio watched as his hunter cell easily took down the bat he would observe his surrounding once the screech was let out, gobuana still need more work if she'd plan to become someone of great strength to the faction, well luckily for her she had brother bunk to clean up her mistake. He would smile and wipe his nose before follow gobuana to climb down. gobuhaio would notice the group of bats coming for him, but he was well verse in the language of smash, and since these small flying objects would be flying near him he'd be able to put his hind cub femur to the test. once the bats came close to him he combine the power of smash with blunt proficiency, which should be more than enough to deal with one of the bats in the group; If gobuhaio was to be attacked by one of the bats he'd utilize light step to increase his ability to dodge.

gobubunk and gobuana would see that the leader was being attack by a group of bats, since they were no long where they were when the bats first arrived they would use sneak and light step to their advantage to quickly and quietly move over to the bats. once they were close enough they would take advantage of the element of surprise, gobuana would attempt to stab the bat with both of her short sharpened in its eyes. gobubunk on the other hand would swing the stick at the eye of the bat to hopfully kill it.

The bats would screech allowing them to be aware of their surroundings in a way the goblins couldn't really understand but that was fine due to the fact that they were not bats. Either way when Gobuhaio swung at one of them it would dodge enough that his anti-air attack was merely a glancing blow. In retaliation however it would swoop past him missing him with it's wing as it passed him by. However the other bat would manage to dodge out of the way of Gobubunk & Gobuana's attacks and pass him by cutting him on his shoulder. It wasn't a major injury but Gobuhaio new if he kept getting hit by them over and over and over it would be a death by less than a thousand cuts that's for sure. Either way they would move back into the air before screeching again and swooping down this time targeting the two other goblins instead of Gobuhaio.

It was obvious to gobuhaio that these bats meant business since he barely got away unharmed due to his arm plates taking the damage, he would use observe in an attempt to react to the bat after it screeched. Since his eyes were able to follow the trail of the three bats it would become as simply as day where they were aiming. “Brother, Ana, the bats are coming for you, aim for them right before they attack.” he command his hunting unit, he would begin to run over to them using light step to help mask the sound his feet were making.

Gobuana would use pierce to stab two of the upcoming three in the head, if she was unable to unlock dual wield she’d settle for stabbing only one in the head. Gobubunk would follow her lead since she move to the far right after stabbing the bat in the head, he would swing his stick at the bat’s eye in order to finish it, then leap to the far left. This opened up more than enough space for gobuhaio would ran over to his companions to smash the head of the finally bat since it wasn’t interest in him and had screeched its would be near impossible for it to track him.

If she was able to gain dual wield, gobu Haio would be forced to finish off the one bunk attacked.

Spoiler:

It really seemed as if using two sticks really wasn't Gobuana's thing as she will was unable to learn it, however it did seem that her attack did manage to hit the Monochrome bat even though it tried to dodge away, and the same would go for Gobubunk, still however only one of the bats would still be alive albeit very much close to death. It was easy to see that one more hit and that it would die, and as such the monochrome bat would try to flee but it seemed it wasn't able to fly as high as they used to and thus would flutter furiously closer to the ground desperately trying to get away.

Spoiler:

since the bat was already two thirds of the way dead he would send chase after it himself to give it the finally hit, once that was accounted for he would collect the other bats from this hunt and return home to the cave with hunting force since their were a bit two many elements in play at this time of night and they weren't ready for it. while they traveled home they would use sneak and light foot to completely avoid any unwanted attention while gobuana carried the three bats in her arms.

Gobuhaio and his hunting unit would manage to grab the bat carcasses with his hands remaining free but Goburunt and Gobuana holding a carcass each with the later having to hold her other stick in her mouth so that she could keep carrying it on their way back. They had managed to get quite a distance away from their cave so they would need to head back as carefully as possible. Fortunately or unfortunately for them they would stumble upon a particular individual who was dressed in blood stained yet ornamental armor atop a beast they did not recognize but it was clear that it wasn't a monster given that it too had some elaborate barding on top of it. This individual had been trying to level in secret within the great forest searching for something to bring more esteem to his name so that he would have a bit more value in House Gremory unfortunately all he had managed to stumble on so far were the vermin known as goblins.

He had managed to kill all but one of them and he knew he would have to start returning home if he wished to avoid any more trying to ambush him, not that they could the whole reason he had managed to deal with the others so easily was because he could pick out their little goblin feet moving through the brush and in a match against a goblin a Noble of his status would surely prevail. "I shall have to return tomorrow to find the steed I seek." Castellan thought to himself as his horse trotted through the forest.

gobuhaio would slow the group down when they came across the human, the words of gobuana played over and over in his mind taunting him."Any eye for an eye" he thought before observing the human and the equipment he had on, honestly tonight was for the best. "put the food in the trees gobuana, gobubunk remember when you told me you might have to be in a fight to use your magic here's when we need. Stay here when I give my signal you'll use your magic, if you can't get then join the fire and try to use it again by catching him off guard." he commanded them softly, once gobuana used climb and sneak to put the food in the trees she would follow it by using light feet with sneak to position herself and her two sticks above him. gobuhaio would use sneak to position himself to the right side of the human, gobubunk behind the human in the bushes using sneak.

Castellan continue thinking to himself before raising his hand and preforming a sweep of his surroundings, a pulse of magic would be emitted from his body causing him to frown and then draw his rapier before pointing it upward. "I say! Come on out vermin you shan't hide yourselves from me Goblin filth." Castellan shouted and would move his rapier to point at where each of them were hidden as he could detect their mana rendering their concealment moot. It was the type of thing that a noble needed to master after all assassin were sure to come to try and claim their life, after all nobles had many enemies. Or perhaps their slaves would try to rebel and sneak in their room at night, no this was why he had managed to find the first group and he readied himself to kill these ones like he had the others.

They would become fuel for his growth just like their other brethren and he would cut off their ears for proof back at home for his slaves to collect the gold for him. Truly it was one of those days that he would be able to make a little profit despite not finding the choice steed he was searching for

Being that gobuhaio hadn't given the signal and their positions seemed to be exposed gobubunk would try to gather the fire magic into the palm of his hands before trying to throw it at the human. with that being done gobubunk would use climb and sneak to avoid any attack from the human, only gobuhaio was remained on the ground but chose a spot away from the human. Even if the group couldn't use sneak to avoid being seen by him there was still other troubles that haunted the night, since the group was using sneak they shouldn't be the target of any sneak attacks.
