Myconid Patch

“G¥ #&@< •<%#€£*¥” She would say but her words couldn’t be understood or comprehend by their young ears, in her eyes these infants got lucky in capturing her but they will be come looking for her and when they do... these monsters will surely see the day that myconids will wither their numbers down due being hunted, for their weakness, she would pull her arm away from the myconid before storming off to the corner she was left in.

Mushtoad would roll his eye holes as the Beastwoman would storm off towards the corner she was in before, and it seemed that Mushbaby would have the same feeling and go do similar in another part of the patch. "Well that's a bust, Hmm." He would say rubbing his fingers on his..... If he has a chin then his chin. "Okay then, How about we do some combat training? You two versus me?" With that he would pull out his two mandibles, and hold them in his hands. "For now we'll do that with the two sharp metal sticks you two will use, and I will use these sharp things from the bug that tried to hurt me. If we can get through this today, I promise that we will get to go outside, how about that?"

[Doing weapons training for the next four hours, attempting to learn weapon proficiencies. Pea and Rio 2 handed piercing. Toad duel wield basic slashing]

"don't blame us if you get hurt" mushpea stated with a grin the two would tightly grip the hilt on their weapons that they never used before charging at mushtoad. it would be four hours of constant gritting of metal on metal however mushtoad would come out on top after for hours of fighting against the minions, the two would see how much stronger those who have been outside are compared to those who stayed inside; this would also mean that their were monster that were stronger than them, if the other two myconids didn't make it back.

Mushtoad was panting as the three finished a four-hour sparring session with their new tools, the three all showing signs of improvement in their skills. He was pleased with their work today and would flop down onto the ground in order to rest up a bit, draining the nutrients from the ground as he did so. "Okay you two, is there anything else you would like to try and learn for the rest of the day before we go to sleep for the night?" He would say panting as he could feel the nutrients fill him back up, and would slowly stand up again. "We can either continue training with our fighting, try with more magic skills, or perhaps you two would like to try carving the other beastman"

The group of myconids had already lost 3 hp from their training, continuing their training wouldn't be out of the question however it would come with its own risk. If they continued training their skills they would be met by the monster that hunted during the night , which would make dying easier for their opposition. On the contrary if they were to go outside now they would be met by one monster and have no chance of being bombarded by monster who lurked at night and waited a chance to attack them. The decision is yours boss mushpea stated causing both of the myconids to turn their head and look at mushtoad.

"Well, why don't you two continue with your combat training for the remainder of the day. I'm going to see what I can get from that second creature" Mushtoad would say to the other two myconids before turning around and going back to the second beastman corpse. He would look down at the creature for a moment before pulling out his mandibles and would begin carving the flesh of the beastman. perhaps he would find something more this time around.

(Spending an hour slow carving this corpse, Pea and Rio are going back to sparring with pickaxes)

Carving the Beastman would result in Mushtoad gaining Beastman Skin, while the two would manage to spar without any issues though both of them would build their skills quickly they would sustain more damage from the intense sparring. Now with a fully skinned partially withered corpse, it would seem that Mushtoad wouldn't have much else to do today, but he still had things he could potentially do tonight. Or he could head to sleep and head out in the morning it ultimately was his choice though the sparring did put his new followers at risk.

Mushtoad was starting to feel the wear and tear of the past two days come upon him as he completely skinned the Beastman corpse, so much had happened since he first woke up 3 days ago. Nearly killed twice in two days, watched 2 allies being brutally murdered, ate one corpse of an ally, and now today he was playing as some kind of teacher to the two myconids that had decided to follow him around for the day.Sure the three of them together had been able to pick up quite a few tricks throughout the day, but he was still worried that something else would murder most of them on their travels. Without a doubt he really didn't want to go out anymore, but knew that these two would do a lot better out in the great forest if he was there with them. "You two go on to sleep for the night, I'm going to stay up for a little bit longer to see if I can make us something" He would say before tearing up the filthy rags he was wearing under his new vest, and would retrieve the Beastman claw from within the vest. He would then spend the next half hour to an hour trying to fit the claw onto his pointy stick that Autumn gave him during the fight.

It seemed that he wasn't quite there yet and the stick would break much to his consternation, perhaps he was a bit too tired to properly craft something. Or perhaps that meant he wasn't meant to be a crafter, maybe it wasn't for everyone. Either way he would just be left with a Beastman claw.

Mushtoad would groan as his pointy stick had now become useless after trying to fashion some sort of spear using it and the beastman claw. So he would discard the broken pieces of wood, and make his way back to the sleeping area of the myconid patch, then flop down onto the soft soil in order to fall asleep.

The next day the Myconids would wake up and Mushtoad would feel a new surge of strength which came from surviving for another day, just like his two lackeys would feel revitalized, and looking around the area he would notice that some of the Myconids weren't here though he would recognize Mushasta who was currently meditating while crossing two sticks adorned with earth spirit stones in his lap. He would see Mushbaby in her corner seemingly drawing something on the ground while Mushgran was lumbering around seemingly checking on the other Myconid who still slept.

Mushtoad would roll onto his back on the patch after the peaceful sleep he had, Perhaps if his team was ready they would indeed be going out today. So he would begin to sit up and look at the others who were awake in the patch this morning and would see the blind Mush that was running around the other day. So with a smile, he would stand up, making sure to wake up Pea and Rio as he made his way towards Mushasta. "Hey there, do you want to come out on an adventure with MushPea, Mushrio, and I? We could really use someone with your skills keeping an eye out for us"

"Depends, what direction are you heading to today?" Mushasta said after a short while his body still in it's meditative pose while two other Myconids who were sleeping near him would roll over to look at Mushtoad and his followers. Each of them had weapons and some gear, with the one on the left possessing what seemed to be a shield made from a Greater Armored Tanuki and was wearing a Horned Rabbit Skull and a Horned Rabbit Pelt, while the second one had what seemed to be a pair of claws from a Sickle Mantis, and was wearing a Black Pup Pelt. This coupled with their leader's armor, a Horned Horse Pelt & Loincloth made them a lot more impressive than those who were trying to talk to them. "If it's not worth my time, I'm not gonna go."

"Well we are going to go northwest a bit, the creatures we came across the other day seemed to look like they were digging into the soil for something in particular. Afterwards, we'll explore from there before heading back" Mushtoad would say to Asta and his minions while his duo seemed to be visibly shaking with excitement, they had wanted to go out on an adventure really bad. Though to avoid a similar situation that he encountered the other day, Mushtoad would turn back towards his two minions and have a stern look in his eye holes. "You two are excited, but once we are out in the forest, you two do as I say. We've lost enough Mush out there due to curiosity, I can't go through that again. So stay close, and pay attention." With that he would turn back to Asta and his minions. "From the looks of you three, you all have seen some stuff. So we put what you know and I know together and we can all stay safe and perhaps explore further than any Mush before"

Mushasta would shake his head, as he wasn't interested in heading to the Northwest, no he wanted to venture to the west but wanted to actually wait until nightfall. His followers could use a bit more training till then and he wanted to max out his meditate. With that he would close his eyes to begin meditating again while his followers got up and stood behind him just in case Mushtoad decided to try something. "Nevermind. Good luck on your journey though, try not to die us Mush are quite unlucky you know." he said with a smirk before his face went slack as he fell back into a deep meditative state.

Mushtoad would shrug when Mushasta would decline going out on an adventure, and would turn towards the rest of the patch and shout out. "If there's any other Mush that wish to join us, feel free to follow us" He would say before moving towards the entrance of the Patch, leaving.

Mushtoad, Mushrio, and Mushpea would return late at night after their hunting/gathering trip, feeling rather successful in their ventures would simply drag the bodies towards the back end of the patch before going back to the soft soil where the others were sleeping. However, now Mushtoad would take note of the Myconids that were now resting, perhaps they could be of some use the next day.

When they woke up the next day they would feel the familiar rush of strength which marked being able to survive to the next day, and Mushtoad would wake up to see that neither Mushautumn nor Mushasta or their groups were in the patch while Mushbaby seemed to be talking with Mushgran. There were other Myconid's milling about but for the most part everything was business as usual in the Myconid Patch as it seemed that their lives were for the most part quite peaceful. It was unfortunate that said innocence was usually violently shattered upon heading out into the world.

Mushtoad would groan as he woke up in the patch and would notice how most of the experienced Myconids had already gone out for the day, then would slowly stand up taking into account for all the things that had happened the night before. So with his two minions standing next to him he would bring the shiny rocks they had found the previous day towards the elder shroom. "We survived the hunt Gran, and bring these rocks back with us" He would say to the elder with a grin on his face before looking over towards Mushbaby. "Could have used your help, perhaps tomorrow when we go out again you can join us" With that Toad would go back towards the 3 red deer corpses and would start an hour-long slow carve with each corpse. Meanwhile Rio and Pea would grab their pickaxes and begin to start digging into the ground with them in an unoccupied area of the patch.

Mushtoad would find success with carving the Red Deer and would manage to find success on the first two corpses while the last was also successful it wasn't nearly as good. Either way he would end up managing to obtain a Red Deer Pelt, a Red Deer Skull & a Cracked Deer Horn. As for his companions it seemed as if digging just wasn't in their skill set as for two hours they tried and failed at digging and by the third hour it seemed that Mushrio wasn't going to learn how to dig while Mushpea did end up managing to figure it out and would make a hole in the ground.

Mushtoad would grin as he finished up carving the bodies for anything that could be useful and would look as Mushpea had made some progress digging a hole, so after placing the Deer skull on his head as a helmet would move towards the duo. "That's great that you were able to learn a new skill in your time" He would say to Pea as he patted Rio on the back for reassurance. "Mushrio, you and I are going to continue with combat training as Mushpea continues digging a hole." He would say to the duo as he grabbed Rio by the back of the neck pulling him towards an empty part of the patch and would begin another three hours of combat training. Mushrio with their pickaxe, and Mushtoad with their 2 locust mandibles.

While they sparred Mushpea would continue to dig eventually managing to unearth three of the same ore all of them being Coal, while her allies would continue to spar each other both becoming more skilled at using their respective fighting styles. Either way they would finish up while Mushbaby would shake her head at Mushtoad's comment as she had no interest in leaving the patch any time soon. She would stay within and learn as much from Mushgran as possible while practicing her magic and learning new things whenever other Myconid's brought things back from outside. Still it would seem that Mushtoad would feel stirrings of some new sort as he gained libido, perhaps that was why the other notable Myconid's weren't here at the moment.

Mushtoad and Rio could be seen panting heavily as they continued on with their combat training, wanting to become even stronger in case they ever came across more opponents out in the forest. However, it would seem that Mushpea had gained some ground in their digging, gaining more coal as well. What they could do with that, they wouldn't know for the time being. Probably once someone was able to understand the beastwoman they would be able to get some insight on what these ores collected could be used for, as of right now they are just normal rocks. So after eating a portion of the deer meat, Mushtoad would go back to their combat training with Mushrio, while Mushpea continued on with their tunnel system.

My, my, look at you wonderful specimens. Mushgran's decrepit, but wise words would echo through the patch as she approached Toad and Rio. The two had just completed their training for the day, in fact it was almost as if Gran had been watching them, waiting for them to finish. Pea returned to the duo with a treasure trove of various pieces of ore she had found while digging. Yes, yes, gather round my seedlings. It seems one of you has reached a special time in your life. Come, Mushtoad follow me. Gran said, slowly making her way deeper into the patch. If Toad followed, he would find Gran in front of a wide, gnarled tree stump, tens of times larger and wider than either of the creatures who stood before it. A makeshift door made of gnarled roots and vines could be found. You see Mushtoad, at a certain day in our life cycles, we become ready to spread out seed. Our spores reach maturity and gain a certain type of desire to spread their love. Never is a time better to spread that love than directly after a long battle or training session such as the one you just had. Gran would say as she pulled open the door to reveal a softly lit room with makeshift cushions of leaves and vines. A sweet odor wafted out, strong but somehow compelling and alluring to all those who were ready.

I'm afraid your young friends aren't quite ready for this room yet, no no, but soon I suspect. For now it is yours to use along with the other matured Mushes. Do not fear or fret, should you choose to enter your body will simply...know what to do. The room is yours, when you please, for as long as you please. Enjoy, my seedling. Gran said with a small, coy smile before hobbling back to the main area of the patch. If Toad chose to enter, inside he would find a strange creature known simply as a Lesser Oni. This particular specimen appeared to be male and was in prime condition, save for the glassy look in its eye and either inability or lack of desire to respond in any way. It seemed this was Toad's new plaything if he so chose to use it.

Mushpea and Mushrio would nod as Mushtoad was led away by Mushgran, and decided after a long day of work and training it was time to sleep off any exhaustion that they were currently feeling weighing down upon them. Meanwhile, Mushtoad would slowly follow Mushgran towards an odd smelling room decorated for what seemed like maximum comfort, which he found to be odd as to why everyone wasn't sleeping in rooms like this. That was of course up until Mushgran started to explain what the purpose of this room was, which seemed to be a room strictly for making more to add to the patch. This was a concept that simply blew the poor myconid's innocent mind, filling it with the corruption of many naughty details. After 15 hours of non-stop combat training Mushtoad was feeling rather exhausted from the day's events, but the sweet scent of the room seemed to almost draw him in as Mushgran left the room. [Fade to black]
