| Roxas twirled his new weapons across his pinky fingers before tossing and catching them. What he carried by his side were two brand new projectile accelerators. One was an onyx coloration, sleeked with a silver hue along each edge giving it an almost glowing sensation. It was a short handgun, something rarely seen in the world of the shinobi. The other weapon he held was a silver handgun, this one had bronze streaks along its edges giving it an almost silver glow. Aurum and Argentum is what he called these two, the roman word for Gold and Silver. Of course that wasn't their true coloration nor their true metal, but the glow that was caused when light caught their edges were the birth of the name and seemed to fit them nicely. He held Aurum in his right gun satchel while Argentum sat in his left. They were fine weapons and ones Roxas planned to use frequently. He had just recently been promoted to Head Jonin by the last Council member, Reiver. It was thanks to him having taken effort in their time of need to get the nations focused and organized, to get them prepared and protected. Of course him and Reiver were still on equal terms, but Reiver's plan was to use Roxas as a face value leader for the Shinobi. He wasn't too comfortable with that, his skill with wording shown in a meeting earlier that week. However he would do his best to correct the appearance he had shown and create a new one that the Shinobi world could stand beside. One they could look up to and follow with full trust in their heart. But that wasn't all, soon Roxas would be known for more than just his volcanic road and his volcanic shadow. Soon he would be on back of a mighty Silver Rathalos with his dual pistols by his side, raining terror upon their enemies from above and being a massive symbol of hope for the Shinobi Forces. He began to think back on his life. From the little kid he used to be back in the Academy. Roxas was always walking around with a smirk on his face as if he had just gotten a fresh batch of candy from the store. Always greeting people and just causing some annoyance to the adults. He had been skilled and friendly. However one day he had come upon something dark and morbid within the Academy grounds. He had come across the underworld of the West Continent, a pit where they fought children like gladiators. Two go in, one come out. No mercy. He had been tricked, thinking it was all a game that day. Until things had gone too far. When he realized what was occurring he felt like throwing up, he wished to leave the place but there was only one way out. Either through death or through winning. He didn't want to kill anymore and he didn't want to die. Though the fates must have been laughing that day. A girl that felt the same way as him was his next opponent. She could have killed him, but instead she allowed herself to die, to free herself of the nightmare that she had been trapped in. And now Roxas was the one trapped in it. Whenever Roxas thinks back to that day he always wondered how two who didn't want to be there ended up in the finals. Maybe it was the want for escape and innocence that triumphed over the blood thirsty and accepting. Or maybe they had just got lucky. Roxas wasn't sure but he was glad to be far away from those times. After that day Roxas had began to live in seclusion with himself. He rarely left his room and whenever he did he kept to himself. The memories of the pit haunted him worse than that of his strange irrational fear of insects. It took months of therapy to even open up a little. However, when he had finally began to harden himself, something new occurred. An explosion had snapped Roxas from his daze, the attack of the Blades of the Shogunate. At least the old Blades. They had retired and were rumored to have resurrected an old organization that once caused terror through the lands: Gekihen. There was even rumor that one of the original Gekihen still lived frozen in ice at the bottom of the Frozen Sea. God he hoped that guy never escaped. But he was getting off from his thoughts. That day he had met Topaz and his partner. Without any provocation Topaz had suddenly taken Roxas's arm, which was now cast in a metal. Roxas had attempted to gain revenge for his arm but the guys partner had assisted him in fleeing from the seen, leaving Roxas angered at his loss of revenge. But that wouldn't be the last time he saw them... No it would not. Roxas sighed as he tried to suppress these disturbing memories. He hated his time in the Academy and wished it over with. But here he was, six years later and they still haunted him in his sleep. Could he not escape from such a thing? What would he need to do to escape the haunting of the pits? To escape the cries of the crowd, the souls of the damned? What would he have to do? Roxas wished he had the answer for it but he did not. He had to deal with waking up in a cold sweat each and every day. Not even the comfort of Laxus by his side could stem these nightmares. He often considered seeking a professional to erase the memories from his mind, but at times he remembered that these nightmares, that the things that occurred in his life had caused him to grow stronger and mature. Maybe if they hadn't occurred he wouldn't be alive right now. Maybe those difficult times were what caused him to evolve in spirit to where he is now. He had trained so hard ever since meeting Topaz and losing his arm. Spending days and nights working and harnessing his techniques to near perfection in preparations for revenge. He only rested to regain his energy since his body did not actually require sleep. During those times he would work his mental focus to create strategies in a way to fight Topaz once again. He took the nightmares of his time in the pits and took the spirits of the dead, mixing them in with his own fighting style to create deadlier tech. One of which was a major factor in the downfall of Topaz: Quick Jab. Quick Jab was a technique he had developed in memory of the boxer that he had once fought within the Pits. The guy had a swift punch and Roxas perfected it into a single quick punch, fast as light. It was meant for speed and not power and as such it worked perfectly in combination with his Afterstrike technique which led to giving Topaz a weakness for a short time. By using his mirage techniques during that time he managed to corner Topaz and force him to surrender. He could have taken his revenge there and then, but instead he humiliated Topaz by letting him keep his arm, knowing that Roxas had in basically said that Topaz was no longer worth his time with his actions. In truth Roxas wished to seek out Topaz once more and have a final contest. A final fight to determine who was stronger. If he won then he would get even and return the favor of his own arm. But until then Topaz had to live with the humiliation given to him by Roxas. Whenever he thought on this it made him smile. Even back then he was happy to have managed to best Topaz so swiftly. After that things felt somewhat easier. Well, he wish he could say that, but in truth it was even more difficult. His first opponent in the finals was that of the Academy's monster, Arikiko Kenpachi. The guy had been the number one bet in the Academy to go all the way, but Roxas had quelled the beast with tactic rather than force. He knew Arikiko could win in an upfront fight and as such Roxas used a more roundabout method. The practice in deception he had worked on had come in quite handy once again, allowing him to wear Arikiko out forcing him to surrender or bleed out. A simple arrow hidden within illusions had welcomed this victory, much to the displeasure of Arikiko. He was surprised when Arikiko showed up within Hakagakure just a day ago. The man was completely different than the one Roxas had once known. No longer was he the mad beast looking for blood. Well he might still be like that but he was no doubt more mature and shrewd. It kind of scared Roxas, as an intelligence along with such brute power could be formidable. But Arikiko wasn't his worst enemy. In part two of the Exams Roxas came across Cyrus Taki, current leading force of the Blades of the Shogunate. His shark summons had proven useful, and only through shrewd tactics and Tekio was he even capable of pulling out the victory, albeit being actually bested by such a thing. He never liked to admit it, but Cyrus had been far better than him. If he had played it just a little smarter he could probably have managed to get a lucky hit on Roxas. It would have been a game of chance on who would strike who, but thankfully Cyrus too had surrendered. If they were to both fight again, Roxas might be able to win but it wasn't guaranteed. Cyrus had come the closest to beating him than any other. Arikiko's brute force and Topaz's underestimation had allowed Roxas to slip in with a victory sought through strategy. But now there was no doubt Cyrus had his own strategy. Roxas would need to perfect his Lava Road in order to succeed in future endeavors if he was to ever fight the guy again in a true battle, especially one to the death. Then came his final battle. He was already exhausted from the prodigy of Topaz, though he had got some rest inbetween. In his fight with Arikiko he had mainly acted like a coward and had one with barely doing anything. His fight with Cyrus had been draining, but he had managed to pull out the win. Then he was against Kimiko Sasori, runner up in the exams. Her bead style was extreme and he had to give Tekio control to even come close to fighting her. She had taken little damage and he lots, if not for Tekio he would have lost quickly but he had managed to pull off an attack that secured his victory over her. It wasn't his most noteworthy opponent, but he had gained new respect for the Sasori and their beads. He never knew they could be so deadly. If he hadn't managed to brute force her barriers she might have won, but luckily he had a way to do it. And then by the very man who allowed the pits and who selected the Blades, he had been given rank of Chuunin, victor of the Chuunin Exam Tournament. He felt good that he had managed to best the best of the Academy, minus some of the Blades who had merely forfeited and left. In truth he wished to test his capabilities against all the Blades once again, but doubted he could get the chance and live. No there was no doubt in his mind that they would turn on him and kill him as soon as possible. And he had no desire to join them if he could help it. Maybe he would get to meet Topaz on the field of battle one day, but until then he had a village to take care of. No, more than a village... He had a Nation to take care of. 2013 words - Spoiler:
Name: Kai Style Classification:Fighting Style (Jaeger Only) Rank:D-rank Class: Offensive Range: Self
Description: This is a unique fighting style made possible by Jaegers who wished for a way to combat mental based opponents. This created a line of Kenjutsu which specifically deals mental based damage to opponents in addition to being able to meld touch based genjutsu into the techniques. This fighting style uses an advanced version of chakra flow which involves cycling chakra through the sword while simulaniously casting genjutsu which uses the chakra within the user's body as a medium.
Name: Steel Release: Metallic Blood Classification: Kinjutsu Rank: C Class: Passive/Supplementary Range: Self
Description: Upon awakening into a Jaeger Roxas's blood changed. Because he was no longer in need of it his body took the iron from it and multiplied it, causing it to pressurize till it formed steel. Normally this would harden his body, however because Roxas generates harmful amounts of heat through Kinetic Generator the steel does not harden while inside of the body, giving him liquid metal as blood. He can use this metallic blood to fuel blood based techniques still, however unlike normal blood it does not replicate and therefore whenever he uses a blood based technique the blood lost will stay lost till replaced through Iron Stomach. This technique does offer benefit though, as when cut the metal that seeps out will harden to close the wound off, losing only half of what he normally would have from said wound. Additionally blood effecting techniques no longer cause affliction to his own. This is offse t by making him more prone to the weakness of steel release. Because of Roxas previously being a yoroi his empty blood vessels allow for the holding of the same amount of liquid steel as a normal yoroi would have. Any techniques which use Roxas's blood will possess steel properties giving them +1 durability.
Name: Steel Release: Iron Stomach Classification: Taijutsu Rank: C Class: Supplementary Range: Self
Description: Roxas developed a method of replenishing his liquid metal reserves through devouring other metals. By devouring other metals he can replenish his reservesat any time as long as metal is available to him. He regains reserves equal to the rank of the metal eaten. So if he eats a c rank shuriken then he gains C rank liquid reserves.
Name: Konagona Clip Classification: Hojutsu/Kinjutsu Rank: SS (S Blood) Class: Supplementary Range: Short
Description: Konagona, a near perfect form of the Afterstrike series, has been modified and focused into shape. Rather than channeling Konagona Roxas is capable of directly inserting a proportional amount into his projectile accelerator in the form of a clip. By sacrificing an S rank amount of blood, or liquid metal in Roxas's case, he can create a full clip in his dual pistols. The bullets fired from these clips deal SS rank damage and reaches SS rank speeds. Additionally because of Konagona being condensed into such a small form it now breaks down chakra network with each shot permanently erasing the chakra network by an S rank amount per hit while also damaging the nerve endings of the body part it hit within a foot diameter of the impact point. The chakra network cannot be restored except by an SS rank medical technique that reverses time and specifically heals the chakra network. If not healed within 5 topics after receiving the blow it will not heal. Receiving multiple injuries to the network will require multiple use of the healing technique for each hit. If one does not have the chakra to facilitate the destruction then they will die. The nerve endings require an SS rank medical technique to heal. Unlike normal bullets these bullets are energy based, with each shot the 1 foot in diameter.
Name: Diamond Release: Prism Sphere. Classification: Kinjutsu Rank: S (S Chakra) Class: Supplementary/Defensive Range: Long
Description: Roxas molds chakra and then utilizes it to severely pressurize a portion of the earth turning it to diamond. Once created the diamond formed is capable of being freely maneuvered within 30 feet of Roxas. When created it can form in two ways, a disk or a sphere. Once created it cannot change from one form to the other. Any energy based or molecular based techniques that come into contact with the disk form gets focused and has its damage increased by one rank but its size halfed. If they come in contact with the sphere form they become widespread, having their damaged decreased by a rank but having their size doubled. This diamond technique can withstand the transfer of up to 3 SS ranks before breaking and 1 SSS rank before shattering. It takes 8 S ranks to shatter this technique but can endlessly maintain the transfer of energy from A ranks and below. The SSS rank can only be used with the a sphere form as using it on a disk form will cause the technique to be reflected to its user while breaking the diamond.
Name: Second Reaction Classification: Taijutsu Rank:C-rank Class:Supplementary Range:N/A
Description: Cypher naturally have better reaction speed and have inbuilt senses which allow them to detect small changes and point out things that seem out of the ordinary. This sense of battle grants them the ability to react to C-rank speeds even if they don't possess sped tiers and detect opponents who are being hidden by C-rank hiding techniques. In addition when they do possess speed tiers it gives them the ability to react to speeds up to 1 rank above their own as long as it doesn't exceed their rank.
Name: Third Reaction Classification: Taijutsu Rank:B-rank Class:Supplementary Range:N/A
Description: Cypher naturally have better reaction speed and have inbuilt senses which allow them to detect small changes and point out things that seem out of the ordinary. This sense of battle grants them the ability to react to B-rank speeds even if they don't possess sped tiers and detect opponents who are being hidden by B-rank hiding techniques. In addition when they do possess speed tiers it gives them the ability to react to speeds up to 1 rank above their own as long as it doesn't exceed their rank.
Name: Fourth Reaction Classification: Taijutsu Rank:A-rank Class:Supplementary Range:N/A
Description: Cypher naturally have better reaction speed and have inbuilt senses which allow them to detect small changes and point out things that seem out of the ordinary. This sense of battle grants them the ability to react to A-rank speeds even if they don't possess sped tiers and detect opponents who are being hidden by A-rank hiding techniques. In addition when they do possess speed tiers it gives them the ability to react to speeds up to 1 rank above their own as long as it doesn't exceed their rank.
Name: Fifth Reaction Classification: Taijutsu Rank:S-rank Class:Supplementary Range:N/A
Description: Cypher naturally have better reaction speed and have inbuilt senses which allow them to detect small changes and point out things that seem out of the ordinary. This sense of battle grants them the ability to react to S-rank speeds even if they don't possess sped tiers and detect opponents who are being hidden by S-rank hiding techniques. In addition when they do possess speed tiers it gives them the ability to react to speeds up to 1 rank above their own as long as it doesn't exceed their rank.
Name: Mirage Fist: Asura's Rampage Classification: Taijutsu Rank: C-SS Class: Offensive/Supplementary Range: Short (Can appear to be Mid or even Long depending on the user's rank)
Description: This is the first application to Mirage Fist which revolves around amplifying the amount of blood-lust released by the user before attacking the opponent. This will cause them to visualize his/her Mirage fist appendages multiplying by ten before he/she assaults the enemy each one hitting the enemy equal times to how many have been formed. The hits aren't physical but the opponent "feels" them as if they are real unaware that they are merely visualizing pain that isn't affecting them, this isn't a genjutsu however as it merely plays upon advanced use of killing intent to deceive opponents. Under the mask of this killing intent the user deals ten blows to the victims joints numbing key points of their body so they are unable to counter attack. If the opponent is below the user's rank they are locked in place by the sheer amount of killing intent with no method of avoiding getting pummeled by the technique. If the opponent is equal rank as the user they are locked in place by the sheer amount of killing intent causing them to receive the blows in their entirety unless they have sensing technique 1-rank above the user's rank. If the opponent is 1-rank above they will be unable to decipher reality from fear and will be unable to determine which blows are real or fake opening them up to getting bombarded by attacks, unless they have reaction tiers 1-rank above the user's speed. If the opponent is 2-ranks above the user's rank they will not fall for the killing intent and will be able to clearly see through most of the blows but will still see the user have the initial mirage arms causing some blows to be able to be misread unless they have reaction tiers equal to the user's speed. If the opponent is 3-ranks above the user's rank they will not fall for this technique in addition if the opponent has 3-ranks higher Speed or Reaction Tiers they will be able to completely dodge this technique.
Name: Mirage Fist: One Thousand Years Of Death Classification: Taijutsu Rank: B-rank Class: Offensive/Supplementary Range: Short-Long
Description: This is a frightening technique if executed correctly, and can only be used in combination with another Mirage Fist Technique, the user delivers a feint of pure killing intent the other technique being purely fake albeit the opponent thinking that it was a true technique, while they are immobilized by this technique the user sneaks behind them appearing at their blind spot and crouches with a kunai with an explosive tag attacked, the user then lunges upward and impales the opponent in their rectum launching them about 20 feet in the air before detonating the tag and rupturing their internal organs. This technique is almost always fatal if preformed correctly as by the time the opponent hits the ground they would of already bled out. This technique works much better if the opponent is paralyzed by fear from the first Mirage Fist Technique.
Name: Mirage Fist: Yaksha's Tirade Classification: Taijutsu Rank: S-rank Class: Offensive/Supplementary Range: Short-Mid
Description: This is the second application to Mirage Fist which revolves around amplifying the amount of blood-lust released by the user before attacking the opponent. This will cause them to visualize his/her Mirage fist appendages multiplying by one hundred before he/she assaults the enemy each one hitting the enemy equal times to how many have been formed. The hits aren't physical but the opponent "feels" them as if they are real unaware that they are merely visualizing pain that isn't affecting them, this isn't a genjutsu however as it merely plays upon advanced use of killing intent to deceive opponents. Under the mask of this killing intent the user deals 100 blows in rapid succession to the victims joints numbing key points of their body so they are unable to move for 1 post after this technique has landed. If the opponent is 4-ranks above the user's rank they will not fall for this technique in addition if the opponent has 4-ranks higher Speed or Reaction Tiers they will be able to completely dodge this technique.
Name: Iai Trigger. Classification:Hojutsu/Kinjutsu (Jaeger Only) Rank:S-rank (Damage Varies) Class: Offensive Range: Self
Description: This is an advanced application of Iaido using projectile accelerators and shots as a medium, it requires complete mastery over all the initial Iaido techniques available to Cypher before awakening otherwise one will not be able to learn this technique. Once learned however it becomes fairly easy to preform and has the potential to stop opponents from preforming equal rank ninjutsu as long as they are within 40 feet of the user. If they don't stop however they will sustain damage equal to the shot(s) fired. This can be particularly lethal especially when used in combination with advanced shots.
