Another young boy, a child of similar white hair, had not walked through the halls before this night. His yawn had echoed off the walls as did the sound of his steps. This quiet place had liveliness but usually not during these moments of the night. Only a few had arrived as early as Yushu had. They to had a fear for this new setting. Some even had no idea what was to come. Like them, Yushu had wanted nothing more than to return home. But the young man sighed. His parents had not loved him. If anything had to be certain to the by it had been the negligence from his parents. Had he no fear of the darkness, no fear of the monster that have hidden underneath the floor and above the ceiling, he might have been favored in the eye of his mother. But his father on the other hand had been far more stern and had demanded a higher level of discipline for Yushu. Only his brother had that type of mental fortitude. However, Yushu had not found himself jealous nor in envy of his brother. He had proffered the lack of attention in favor of more seclusion from others. As long as the center of attention had been away from him, he had no real issue being less talented or less skilled than his brother.
The young boy had slowed to a stop when he had heard a sort of breathing that had not synchronized with his own lungs. That type of sound had no echo so Yushu had suspected someone else had to be close by him. The young boy had seen the hallway have turn at the corner. Sure someone had to be there, outside of a room. Yushu had nothing pressuring him to see his room. The only purpose he had for walking about had been only to acquaint himself with the academy dormitory. Its walls had a feeling of a prison, although it had only been hours since his arrival he had a sense for the oppressive atmosphere. Whoever had been waiting in the other hallway might have shared this feeling. Yushu had no idea, however. A simple question had been all he had to think about. The young student had turned the corner of the hall. There, a young kid about his age, had laid down at the foot of the doorway.
"Have you been locked out?" He had said it with a quiet squeak.
