Once she was out of the village and actually moving towards where the mission was taking place, Lynx started to feel much better. She was with trained comrades and it was time to actually show them what she could do, she wasn't going to be dead weight. As she ran she calmed herself with running through her checklist again and again, the tips of her fingers tracing the pouches that held her kunai, her shuriken, the loops of wire she kept hidden under them and wrapped around her thighs.

The pouch on her hip held five special kunai that she never wanted to use, she'd done her best to scratch off the clan symbol that she knew existed on the flat of the blade, she could feel it whenever she ran her fingers down the denki kunai. Lastly she tapped the two giant shuriken that were stuck to her lower back via chakra flow, she was excited to use those... They had always been so expensive to genin that she'd never been able to afford them.

Once they were closer to the Canyons, Kirai dropped down behind a rock, curling her small body up so she was fully behind it before turning around to the others. She wondered briefly if any of them knew sign language and decided to test it. She'd learned from Iolana how to do it and it was great if she didn't want to alert anyone. <"Ready to do this. Excited. Who is leading?"> She signed quickly, missing a few words but she was still young, it was better than nothing.

ANBU Pangolin, Cobra, Goat & Ferret had all taken various positions, each of them actually using different methods of concealment; Pangolin had used Hiding with Camouflage, Ferret was using Hiding in Rock, Cobra was using Underground Projection Fish while Goat was using Hiding like a Mole. Of the four Ferret would briefly become visible before signing to Kirai. <"I'll be taking point on this one, however we will be teaching you ANBU Sign when we get back to base it's more secure. I'll head in the direct route, Pangolin is the fastest so he'll circle around to ensure they can't escape, Cobra and Goat will go to approach from the left and right. You are free to tag along any of us or if you have another method of approaching feel free this should be pretty easy. Kill all but the leader we need to interrogate him for information."> she signed back to Kirai before she waited for confirmation and the group would move into formation with Ferret heading straight forward while sinking into the ground, Cobra heading to the left while Goat head to the right and Pangolin going either left or right depending on which direction Lynx had chose so he could circle the encampment.

The bandit camp was fairly sizeable actually and it was clear that they were growing confident in their strength as while they had tried to blend in a bit there were enough of them that they seemed to think drinking and making noise wouldn't hurt them. Seeing as there were easily about fifty or so bandits scattered around the encampment in various tents or sitting around fires drinking and the like it made sense why they weren't that afraid of an ambush. As for the bandit leader his tent wasn't distinguished at all but perhaps upon a closer observation one would be able to figure out which tent was his.

<"I'll flank left with Cobra."> She returned, wincing to herself at the fact she was using normal sign language, anyone could learn that. What else was she supposed to do though, shout out where she was? She rubbed her own face and then turned to follow Cobra, this was just a test to see where she was, that was what she needed to tell herself. She performed a few handseals and let out a wash of near-invisible black lightning that clung low to the ground. She slipped into it and disappeared herself, refreshing it when she drew near to the edge of the field. This normally would have been expensive but her body had adapted to the use of Black Raiden's Lightning, making it easier for her than it would be for most others.

Once she was in position with Cobra, she'd drop onto her stomach and shuffle in close, letting the lightning fall away from her so she could sign. <"Range on my sight not good without doing something obvious. Give me a shove when we're attacking."> She gave a thumbs up after that and went back to lying down, pulling up several of her kunai and shuriken and laying them on the ground next to her for easy reach before doing several hand-seals and waiting.

From her hiding place the newest ANBU recruit would notice that there wasn't any elaborate signal but instead Cobra would poke her hand out from the ground before giving a thumbs up and promptly submerging once more before moving forward at B-rank speed. It was a silent affair with Cobra grabbing a bandit and pulling them underground before they could scream for help. She would repeat this mainly going after stragglers. It went without saying that the others were at work, though when they would come across a larger group Cobra wouldn't resurface evidently leaving the group of ten bandits for ANBU Lynx to deal with. The group were all posted up in front of a tent which seemed a bit more put together than the others clearly they were guarding something whether it meant this was the leader's camp or something else well there was only one way to find out.

It was go time, let's prove to them that she could keep up. Kirai dashed forwards, throwing out black lightning once more to hide herself, letting it pool and dance around the legs of the bandits not that they'd really know. Ten of them against her, she was pretty sure she could handle that. She reached into her holsters and fired out the first six shuriken, at C-Rank speeds, each of them invisible and in pairs, tethered together by an electrical wire aimed at the legs of the first three to trip them up. She then filled her left hand with kunai and her right with only a single.

From the cloak of her black lightning she leaped up onto the chest of one of the bandits, swinging her kunai in an arc in front of her to try and cut through his eyes. At the same time she tossed the other six kunai into the air where they immediately froze and then fired out at S-Rank speeds to try and bury themselves in the necks of the standing bandits. She'd deal with the tied up ones in a moment.

The Bandits weren't having a good time at all, not that they immediately knew that no some of their members would vanish bit by bit due to the ANBU members and by the time they thought to raise an alarm it was too late. With ANBU Ferret ensuring that those who tried to spread the word were dealt with, Pangolin efficiently dispatching those who seemed to be tougher than normal while Goat & Cobra were on body disposal duty it was an eerily quiet affair so when ANBU Lynx showed her stuff she only served as the icing on the already baked cake. Three of the bandits would be tripped by the bolo's she threw out none of them possessing any form of chakra sensory as such they were completely blindsided by such a thing however before the others could get out a cry of shock she was in their midst killing the one who was going to yell first. The others were somewhat still in shock as one moment he was fine the next his eyes were sliced by something unseen and finally something struck their throats causing them to collectively grab their necks as they plummeted to the ground. This was when the ones which were tied up would come to the realization that this was an ambush, it was unfortunate for them that they would be pulled into the ground before they could alert whomever was in the tent to the ANBU right outside.

ANBU Lynx let out a near-silent sigh of relief as her attack went well. She put her hand over the bandit's mouth in front of her and then drove her kunai up under his chin, wrenching it around to make sure she killed him before she dragged the body off to the side under the cover of her black lightning. With that done she moved to the side of the tent, collecting her kunai from necks as she moved past them before leaning in and focusing. The tent hopefully wasn't too thick so she should be able to make out any electrical signatures inside the tent, which she would then relay to the rest of the team through sign language.

She had some things that were useful for taking targets alive but not too many, she'd need to be a bit careful and maybe see if the others had any ideas for what to do. She pulled out a few shuriken and tied them together with lengths of wire that she had wrapped around her thighs and upper arms and then pulled out a pair of kunai, firing them either side of the entrance of the tent where they were connected by a near-invisible tripwire made out of lightning. She then crouched low within the shroud of her lightning and got ready to strike if her target came outside.

When ANBU Lynx peered inside she would be able to see that there was one large signature and about five smaller signatures, but what was most notable was that the moaning of a man could be heard from within along with numerous whimpering sounds that seemed to be coming from others within the tent. It seemed that the kills were done quietly enough that those who were inside hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary. The others would continue their culling and after about five minutes, during which it seemed that ANBU Lynx had trapped the entrance all of the bandits outside of this particular tent had been dealt with. ANBU Cobra and Ferret would reveal themselves to ANBU Lynx and would stand silently to her sides before the latter began to make hand seals to explain the situation. <"We have eliminated all of the other hostiles and from what I've determined the leader should be inside there, Pangolin and Goat will be unable to assist us with this are there were...numerous minors scattered among the tents. They are processing them as we speak and will be escorting them to a nearby hospital so they can get the care they require."> ANBU Ferret signed before she would stop moving and briefly shake in place before a stray look from Cobra would cause her to still.

<"I've identified the primary target however he is currently... mid-coitus with captives. We can approach this in three different ways, We can either wait him out until he leaves the tent and thus trigger your traps, I can attempt a genjutsu to put all of them asleep however I am unsure whether he is immune to them as my sensory capabilities are reading that he doesn't possess any chakra, unlike those surrounding him. Finally we can act now, though we will have to take extra precautions to ensure we don't enter a hostage situation and avoid the deaths of the minors."> she signed once more, as personally she wanted to immediately react however, her training would kick in and she realized that the whole point of this was a test for how ANBU Lynx faired while on a mission such as this. So far she had done well, but now this was a test of a different nature than just combat.

A deep thrum of fury burned through Kirai's veins and for a moment her body tensed up as she prepared to just rush in and deal with this guy herself. However she took a breath and reminded herself where she was and who she was with, this wasn't a fight that would be won by rushing in like an idiot. She needed to think smarter, not harder, she'd had that proven to her in the exams. She took a deep breath and scratched her cheek for a moment before shaking her head and turning to her two companions.

<"No, there's another way. Can you mimic voices? Worse option but still useful, bring one of the captives if awake out, use them on threat of death to lure the Commander outside. It releases captives, lures into trap, we can then strike together. If not possible, go with second plan, I can see them so can Ferret, put captives to sleep, strike with maximum force, there will be a moment of confusion with the genjutsu, that's our chance."> She looked to see if the others had any other thoughts before standing and readying her various projectiles. She didn't want these kids to suffer more but she couldn't go in without a plan or they'd just end up in danger...

ANBU Ferret would do just that, quickly making hand seals and the occupants within the tent would begin to quiet down before falling asleep. Immediately after that happened the single occupant who hadn't fallen asleep would immediately yell in frustration before walking out of the tent before touching the wire and getting stunned by the current. He was a seemingly ordinary looking bandit if not for the fact that his outfit seemed to be much cleaner and he had a necklace of teeth adorning his neck. ANBU Cobra would immediately rush forward before stabbing a syringe into his neck which would cause him to grit his teeth before his eyes rolled back and he slumped to the ground. ANBU Ferret would look towards ANBU Lynx before nodding, their mission was complete for the most part, all that remained was to return to the village with their captive.

Everything went according to plan. Lynx let out a sigh of relief and scratched at her scalp for a moment to let the tension flow out of her body. She gathered up her various projectiles and all of her wire, putting them away before turning to the others. "I'll wake up the kids and bring them with us, no point leaving them out here in the canyons." She was more comfortable talking now that everyone had been dealt with. She went into the tent and done her best to wake up all the kids, telling them that they were safe now and that they were being escorted back to the village. With that done she made sure to stick with them, constantly on the watch for any creatures or other bandits that might try and attack them as an easy target, they'd find Lynx on watch and you didn't fuck with a big cat's cubs.

Luckily the travel back was fairly uneventful, at least that was until she started to notice the tremors that were going on. Something big was happening in the village, she could hear the sirens from here. She turned to the kids, got them hidden behind some rocks and set a series of traps around them, various tripwires set up so that if someone or something tried to attack them they'd at least have a better chance of fleeing or fighting back. With that done she'd join up with the rest of her ANBU squad and begin sprinting towards the village to see what exactly was happening. Fear and worry shot through her nerves but she grit her teeth and done her best not to show it, after all she was in company that wouldn't appreciate her being a little child about things.
