Cyrus walked along the pathways that separated the dorm buildings, holding out a scroll in front of himself. Reading as he walked, Cyrus had opened one of the many scrolls the desk clerk in the missions office had given him. Apparently this mission in particular was for a runaway cat. A large civilian woman from the West Continent apparently wanted this cat back. Cyrus wasn't so sure he should really retrieve it, after all the cat must have run away for a reason. Still, a mission was a mission and during Cyrus's time on the West Continent he had actually grown to appreciate its people and culture. Even the Shogun he found to be an intelligent and respectable leader, even if many people back in the Land of Beginnings hated him. In fact, Cyrus had even been considering joining the Blades of the Shogunate lately, being in awe of the three he had seen around the Shogun lately.
As he turned the corner, he heard a rustling in the bushes to his right and immediately curled the scroll back up, pulling out a kunai from his back pocket. For a moment all was silent, a faint gust of wind blew through the grounds, kicking up misplaced grass and traces of dirt. Then, without warning, a black and orange striped cat darted from the bushes, heading straight for the corner of the building diagonal from the one on Cyrus's right, and disappeared around the corner. Cyrus was going to hurl the kunai at the creature, hoping to drop it in one blow before realizing the woman probably wanted the cat back alive and he needed to pass this mission. Returning the kunai to his pocket, Cyrus took off after the cat, turning the corner after it and stopping to search the area for any traces of it. From the tree on his right, across the pathway, he heard a faint meow and saw the stupid creature in a tree, pleasantly licking itself. Cats are so gross. Cyrus sighed before walking over to the tree and staring up at it. The cat in return looked down at Cyrus before cocking its head to the side as if to say, Now what are you going to do?
Taking a deep breath, Cyrus closed his eyes and stood at the base of the tree for a long minute before opening his eyes and letting out a war cry, sending a punch directly towards the trunk of the tree. For a moment he stood there, his fist against the tree and it appeared it hadn't worked at all. Any one watching would assume it was only a matter of seconds before Cyrus let out a painful cry. In the next second however, a loud cracking sound echoed across the dormitory grounds as the tree trunk splintered. The tree didn't even teeter, it simply fell as its entire base crumbled to dust and wood shavings. The cat had no idea what was going on and simply jumped towards Cyrus. Before it could latch onto him with its terribly inconveniencing claws, Cyrus drew a co-ordinate cube around it and watched as its face hit against the bottom of the cube. With a smile, he grabbed the edge of the cube and began walking away, the cube floating as he pulled it along. The cat meowed from within the cube and it took Cyrus all he had not to snap his fingers and seal the tiny beast away for ever. I really freaking hate cats. He muttered as he headed back to the mission office.
