Personality:Faustein is a stereotypical mad physician-scientist in thought, word, and deed and his various personality traits apply as much in battle as they do outside it. Due to his insatiable curiosity, he pursues knowledge at any cost and views the whole world and everything in it, including himself not as individuals worthy of respect and care, but rather merely as experimental specimens to use in this eternal quest for knowledge. As if this were not bad enough, he blatantly disregards the personal rights of others around him (
especially his specimens and/or research volunteers) and brooks no complaints from them, either about his research, the methodology therein, or any other such related aspect of his work and study.
This already reprehensible aspect of him is exacerbated further by his utter lack of inhibitions or qualms of any kind which could possibly regulate the methodology of his quest for knowledge. Due to this, he often tends to irritate and even anger those around him who may have issues with this willful ignorance of common human decency. Apart from the traits mentioned above, due to the rigorous demands and high focus which his research and work as a physician-scientist requires, he is strictly objective almost all the time, which means that he can usually be moved to act only by the cold logic of a situation or by his desire for knowledge. In keeping with this strictly objective view, his face typically looks stern, distant, and rather inscrutably emotionless almost all the time.
That said, he is very protective of and is wholly invested in his research and so, he usually tends to be very reclusive and reticent about its exact nature and content. He was also quite paranoid in the past as he believed most people around him wish to restrict and oppress him. Nevertheless, this aspect has been lessened to some degree in more recent times due to the positive influence that others he has met have had on him. Still, his allegiance would lie primarily with himself and of course, would secondarily with his subordinates (
e.g., his employees, summons, etc.) as they are his experimental specimens, research assistants, and in a pinch, his guardians as well. His allegiance to everyone else and everything else would be tertiary to these two priorities.
Furthermore, he has an incorrigible superiority complex towards others which often gets him into trouble with them since it makes him act in a condescending manner towards them. However, this is only towards those whom he is certain are less capable than himself. Despite this, he realizes that nothing and no one in the world is completely perfect. In fact, he abhors the concept of perfection and ridicules anyone and anything that claims to be perfect since to him, perfection is a completely stagnant state which cannot accommodate any further improvement. Additionally, he is highly manipulative of others, including his subordinates (
e.g., his employees, summons, etc.). Of course, in the latter case, he does hold back a little on his manipulative aspect since he knows that he needs their support and eternal allegiance for his research to truly reach success.
Then, there is also his egregious hedonism which causes him to crave and try to acquire or experience all the finer things in life such as gourmet cuisine, vintage wines, expensive miscellaneous exclusive goods, etc. This is especially true since he has known it all the while from childhood till present day due to being the only scion of his family within the Rikigaku clan. So, he tends to enjoy these things, but he is still rather uncomfortable in formal settings due to his introverted nature and his obliviousness to common social mores.
That said, this aspect has decreased somewhat in recent years due to external influences, so he is able to tolerate formal settings which usually include such high society life at the very least. However, he would attend such occasions only to either satiate his ever-present hedonism or if he is forced to attend by someone else superior to him. To his credit though, despite having all these defects, he does have some saving graces, though some may consider these to be a blessing and a curse simultaneously. The first of these is his determination which lets him persevere till the end in all his ventures, for better or worse.
However, this is also a drawback since it does also cause him to have a rather recalcitrant mentality at the same time. As a result of this headstrong aspect, he can be quite intractable to any attempts to sway him toward any path other than the one he sees lying before him. Aside from this, there is his objectivity of view and his ability to stay emotionally detached regardless of whatever may be going on around him or the nature of these events. While this does help him keep a calm and clear mind in all but the most trying of situations, it also means he is utterly oblivious to the emotional needs of others. Besides this, he can be quite passionate, driven, and hyper-focused when he is engrossed in some task or activity that intrigues him and this gives him the advantage of being able to avoid many common distractions which may otherwise impede his research or work.
However, it can also be a negative because it does cause him to ignore everything else, like the basic everyday things such as personal maintenance which normal people would not forget so easily. In addition to this, he prefers to be as efficient as possible in thought, word, and deed and this is a boon since it allows him to delegate resources properly to where they are needed and saves time which he can then spend on other projects or studies, but it can also be a curse since it makes him speak very bluntly because, to him, hiding the truth behind any kind of façade just to make it palatable to his audience, regardless of their social standing or other characteristics and background, is a complete waste of his time and energy. Of course, if he feels inclined to play mind games with them, he will pretend to accidentally let his true feelings slip, only to put on airs of correcting himself midstream.
Naturally, this tends to get him into trouble with others, especially those among his audience who may take issue with his lack of verbal filters. When confronted with most emotional issues, especially the issue of romance, his face tends to turn completely blank and clueless. Then, there is his tendency to warn people of potential dangers when he sees them coming, but if it is a source of new, unfamiliar knowledge which intrigues him enough to want it, he has no qualms in lying and doing whatever he has to acquire said knowledge source, even though his actions may cost him and his allies a crucial victory or even if doing so would lead to massive casualties on his side.
After that, there is his innovativeness as well as his cerebral and eccentric nature. His innovative side and his cerebral nature do give him the ability to solve most if not all the problems he may face, but they also give him that insatiable curiosity which causes him to want to take apart and analyze everything and everyone around him if they happen to intrigue him enough. This tendency to want to analyze everything and everyone that intrigues him, when combined with his innately observant aspect of his nature, leads him to lurk about observing everyone and everything around him to glean valuable intelligence about the.
Typically, he tries to use this data in one way or another and so, he can usually notice things that most others without this quirk would tend to overlook in their surroundings. Besides this, there is the cautious aspect of his nature which he has because he not only inherited it from his parents, but also trained steadily since childhood. This means he never even enters an area or situation without researching it thoroughly via preferably remote means as far as possible, whether that be by sending his subordinates (
e.g., his employees, summons, etc.) ahead of him, planting hidden surveillance mediums on one of his purported allies, or some other ways as well.
He also usually ensures that he has at least a handful of main action plans, some backup plans to handle common contingencies that may crop up in his main plans depending on the situational flow, and even a few escape plans for the worst-case scenarios wherein nothing he can do would be sufficient to resolve the problem(s) successfully. This careful nature combined with his innate, insatiable curiosity also causes him to also use every situation he enters as a field test for any new techniques, abilities, chakra powered technology, or anything else he may be developing at the time; with his allies, as well as any opponents/enemies whom they are facing, and even himself being the lab rats for these field tests. This is because he never likes to charge in blindly and prefers to have data on every element in a situation before acting on his plans, if possible.
In such situations or in any battle or even a simple spar, whether major or minor, he tends to keep his distance from his opponent(s)/target(s) while trying to glean any discernible and/or obtainable information on them which he then uses to facilitate his attempts to overwhelm them slowly but surely over the course of his confrontation with them to the best of his abilities at that time. Of course, if it means getting his hands on some exciting source(s) of new or otherwise unfamiliar knowledge, this cautious aspect of him tends to take a backseat, though he will still try to maintain some modicum of it even when hunting said knowledge source(s).
Finally, there is his extreme, unbridled eccentricity which, though beneficial in that nobody who is willing to hang out with him would be assured of never getting bored and any potential enemies can never quite accurately predict his next move, can also be quite the obstacle in his interpersonal relationships since he is not only highly unconventional and prone to doing things which others; whether they be family, friends, allies, or others; find rather disconcerting if not outright repulsive, but also because it makes him a very difficult subordinate for those authority figures who may have trouble accepting his highly whimsical behavior. This eccentricity is even ingrained deeply into his budding studies towards becoming a professional a physician-scientist.
When combined with his amoral outlook, this eccentricity means that he usually employs highly unorthodox treatment methods. These may come with some unsavory side-effects as well for any patient(s) or specimen(s) that put themselves in his care. Of course, despite the dubious nature of his work methods, they have undoubtedly superlative efficacy and that causes many among his clientele, patient(s), and/or specimen(s) to be confused about his intrinsic nature, motives, and the like.
The last effect of this eccentricity is that he occasionally tends to behave in a very uncharacteristic way, which may surprise others around him (
e.g. making esoteric puns and references, trying to fluff some particularly fluffy entity when they least expect it, uttering a maniacal laugh like some stereotypical supervillain / mad physician-scientist with all of the associated theatrical mannerisms whenever one of his research projects comes to fruition, engaging in melodramatic behavior, displaying a disturbingly high level of excitement during encounters with sophisticated technology and anything that is mostly or completely unfamiliar to him, as well as making impromptu and unorthodox changes to battle plans while still in battle.)

Physique:Faustein is 5' 7" tall, weighs 140 lb., and has a medium-heavy bone structure. His skin is mostly sallow in complexion due to a certain degree of melanin deficiency that he inherited from his parents. That said, this pallor is offset to some extent due to the weather-beaten texture and color that his skin now has due to all the exposure it has had to the elements and other harsh environmental conditions he has had to face over the course of his ongoing research, both in the past and in the present, and well into the future. Apart from that, he has very thick, coarse, dry hair which is white at the base as well as middle section and becomes light green toward the top. It is usually styled in a brush-like manner and spikes up, with two locks of it that drape over his face. Like his skin, his hair's odd texture is also due to these challenges that have and continue to test him thus.
However, he never bothers to care for his hair or even keep it tamed due to his inherently lazy nature and because it tends to get disheveled anyway over the course of his research (
which is the reason for his hair's strange coloration, aka it is because of all the exotic chemical exposure it has gotten thus far over the course of his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research). He has a generally ovoid head with mostly unremarkable features like any other regular human. That said, he does have some distinctive facial features such as: gaunt cheeks with high-set cheekbones, a high and wide forehead; as well as thin, sharp, almond-shaped eyes with the usual round pupils and, in his case, crimson red irises.
The last of his distinctive facial features are his gently tapered chin and his somewhat strongly set, somewhat sharply defined jawline. He has a slender, slightly longer than normal neck with a prominent Adam's apple. His back and shoulders are decently broad and somewhat well developed with lean, well defined, decently visible musculature due to his own basic physical conditioning and because he often exerts himself physically during his travels and research. Across his entire torso, both the front and back aspects, he has no more than an ounce of fat anywhere since he almost constantly forgets to maintain a proper meal schedule, especially when he is engrossed in one of his long-term research projects. His upper limbs are of average length and just like the rest of his body, they too possess somewhat lean, and decently well-defined musculature. Due to his medium-heavy bone structure, his wrists are slightly larger than normal, and his hands are also slightly larger and somewhat more muscular than average too; with this latter aspect being due to the near constant use in his various physical exertions.
In contrast, however, his fingers are longer than average and have a rather skeletal look to them. He has a narrow waist and hips, again due to the veritable lack of body fat, especially the abdominal type. Below, he has lower limbs which are longer than average and like the rest of him, his lower limbs also have not more than an ounce of fat anywhere. As a result, like everywhere else on him, his lower limb musculature is also clearly visible and well defined, but also due to the impact of his physical exertions and specific training as well. Like his wrists, due to his medium heavy bone structure, his ankles are also slightly bigger than average as are his feet. However, like his fingers, his toes are also quite spindly in appearance. The rest of him is similarly well endowed due to the genetic gifts he has inherited from both sides of his family.

Attire:Faustein prefers to keep his outfit as simple and practical as possible, though he does give in to occasional flights of fancy due to his flair for the dramatic. When at home, either alone or with guests, over the usual male undergarments, he always wears a simple t-shirt and cargo shorts combo (
both non-pink) while going barefoot most of the time. If pressed to put on footwear, then he usually prefers closed toed sandals or otherwise may use traditional geta shoes as well. When out in the city or otherwise just traveling somewhere, his outfit of choice is some light-colored, full-sleeved, hoodie shirt with a thin dark-colored fleece jacket over it with a simple pair of dark colored jeans and sneakers below
(he wears all of this over the usual male undergarments, and as usual, non-pink).
His work outfit (
whether for his regular work as a professional physician-scientist or even any ninja work he may be called upon to do in the form of missions and other such client requests) is always that of a professional physician-scientist, that is, an ensemble which he always wears over his usual male undergarments and which consists of a formal, light colored shirt with a necktie (
crimson red in his case) and dark colored formal pants below that with his feet protected by his favorite formal, dark colored, patent leather shoes with matching socks. Over the formal light-colored shirt, he can be seen always having a white lab coat which, of course, is the signature attire component of any physician-scientist worth their salt. All these components are modified to have various extra pockets located in strategically chosen spots and also to be durable enough to withstand both daily wear and tear as well as the rigors of his ninja work, albeit with the latter only to within reason.
His pants are held up by his tactical utility belt which has his standard ninja gear and other tool holsters built into it. When in the lab, apart from this outfit, his hands are covered by the standard, disposable, light-colored surgical gloves. His eyes are protected by durable, protective goggles if he is in the lab. This entire outfit is also what he usually wears when moving about as well, both on his research trips and when taking on client requests, jobs, or missions (
when not in the lab, his eyes are protected and obscured from view by his custom order, polarized lenses-bearing glasses).
On the dorsal aspect of his left wrist can always be seen his personal timepiece, a wristwatch that he got from his parents sometime back. Along with all of these, he can usually be seen with his custom order military grade tactical backpack slung across both shoulders which carries the rest of his traveling supplies and other resources necessary for both his personal research work and his ninja work. When attending some formal occasion, like anybody else, over his male undergarments, he wears the usual formal attire with his being either the usual, traditional attire for whatever place he may be at or else a standard three-piece black suit ensemble with a white formal shirt, red necktie, and his standard patent leather shoes, of course.
Lastly, his winterwear for those occasions wherein he may be ordered to go to a snowy or cold area consists of some light colored full-sleeved shirt with a 6 feet long red scarf which is wrapped loosely around his neck along with a moderately thick, weatherproof hoodie over that while below he wears some simple pants and a pair of shoes with good traction. This is also the outfit he tends to wear when called to be a teaching assistant at his alma mater. Obviously, as in all other occasions, under this outfit he wears the usual male undergarments as well. For other types of inclement weather or special situations, he usually dons the appropriate clothing for the situation. Regardless of attire, however, he always makes sure to have his load-bearing equipment holsters and other such ninja gear holders strapped to otherwise fitted onto his person at strategically chosen spots for ease of access as far as possible.
History:Like with anyone else, Faustein’s story begins with that of his parents, aka “Siegfried Rikigaku” (
i.e., his father) and “Izanami Rikigaku” (
i.e., his father). They were both from the Rikigaku clan but from two extremely distantly related branches of said clan which had settled down in Hakagakure, each of which specializing in its own style of clan exclusive ninja arts. Thus, until their chance encounter in Dipugakure with the Republic of Five wherein a symposium on the advancement of research in general science and technology as well as on Iryōjutsu was held, they had no idea of each other’s existence. Initially, of course, they hated each other’s guts and tried to avoid each other as much as possible. However, as the situation around them kept throwing them back together again and again, they eventually managed to warm up to each other. Their respective sides noticed this and after a lengthy as well as thorough examination of one another, decided to unite them in a politically motivated wedlock.
After their union, they decided to settle down in Dipugakure and started work on the establishment of the Dipugakure’s branch of the business conglomerate own and ran by their respective sides as well as a line of small healthcare facilities and research labs. In due course, they brought their only son, aka “
Faustein Rikigaku” into the world. Due to all the genetic gifts that he had inherited from both his parents, Faustein proved to be a promising prospect right from childhood. Specifically, because of the prodigious talent that Faustein began to show for not only generic STEM field subjects, but also for the ninja arts, as well as the Rikigaku specialties of both his father’s and his mother’s sides of their family apart from strong business acumen in addition to the more intangible traits like his father’s perspicacity and strategic acumen as well as his mother’s iron will and laser focus along with their combined razor-sharp intellectual prowess, the elders of both sides decided to name him sole heir, not to the overall clan itself, but only to their two families.
His family’s joy upon seeing his promise and steady progress was only enhanced by the sight of Faustein taking to the path of scientific inquiry right from the time he could reliably execute specific actions. For instance, he would attempt basic experiments like making impromptu compasses out of needles by magnetizing them, create potato and lemon powered basic clocks, attempt to make improvised musical instruments with bottles holding various liquid levels, and so on, all this on his own by reading and endeavoring to mimic the information he read in various science related books in his parents’ home. However, there was also a creeping darkness to his seemingly childlike and innocent scientific curiosity and that started to increasingly manifest itself in certain rather disturbing experiments (
for his age at least) that he began to conduct after a while under the influence of the same childlike and innocent curiosity that drove his other, more acceptable experimental studies. As they witnessed this, his parents grew increasingly worried for his future and tried to bring him back onto the right track through a rigorous series of private tutoring sessions, but it was to no avail since he rejected their offer to enroll him in those.
So, they gave up from the time being and decided to let him find out the dark side to peoples’ natures on his own in due time. So, his life marched on from first phase of schooling to second, and finally the third with all of these being non-ninja type schooling. At some point during this third stage, Faustein finally became acquainted with the dark side of peoples’ natures after suffering a slew of betrayals of trust and attempts at exploitation from those of his classmates he had considered to be his best and closest friends. In retaliation, he cut them off without warning or preamble and then swore to never bother with things like emotion, friendship, and the softer passions. Instead, he threw himself entirely into his studies and even accepted his parents’ offer for intensive private tutoring enrollment, because of which he began to stand at the top of his class thenceforth.
This continued onwards as time marched forward for all of them, but Faustein’s dark side did not show signs of waning at all. Consequently, his parents decided to send him over to Hakagakure where the grandparents and other elders of their respective families were based even then and upon arrival, he was taken in by them and enrolled in the final stage of his non-ninja schooling before too long. To his great chagrin, he had to endure their daily lectures on the importance of morality, ethics, and the like as well as undergo many tests of his skills in the STEM field subjects, in their family's two branches of Rikigaku arts as well general ninja arts, and business governance over the next few years. Still, all this only served to further strengthen the grip that the dark side to his scientific curiosity and his curiosity about the ninja arts had upon him. So, in the end, even his grandparents gave up on trying to reform him and simply chose to watch and hope that he would come back to the right path someday in the future.
Thus, his life proceeded onward, and he finally mastered the basics of the Rikigaku arts after which finally on his 20th birthday, he enrolled in the ninja Academy in Hakagakure. This brings the story up to the present day wherein he is now 21 years old and is the among older of the Academy students in said Hakagakure ninja academy (
although his mentality is that of a far older and much more developed man), but he is among the top of his class and is looking forward to rising up through the village’s ninja ranks as well as seeking and obtaining all the interesting, rare, and exotic knowledge sources out there that he can get his hands on in due time and by application of the right leverage for his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science and ninja arts research. From here, it remains to be seen what will happen in his life, but whatever it will end up being, the ride through it all promises to be quite interesting.
