[Zardteak/Zardkeanu] - Brothers in Arms... and Tails

Both of them would look around and they would actually manage to see a tree about twenty feet away which seemed to be covered in thick ivy, the tree didn't have large leaves though but the ivy would look promising enough if they wished to make use of it for something. Meanwhile the Messenger Locusts would continue eating though if the Lizardfolk chose to keep looking or not immediately go after them they would stop paying attention to instead focus on the nourishment in front of them.

Well it seemed like the locusts weren’t paying attention to them now. Keanu and Teak both seemed to be at a loss. Ambushing didn’t work, and it’s not likely they’d have the time or means for a proper trap. What about pissing them off? Keanu picked up a rock and snuck around, aiming for a locust to throw the rock and hopefully making it mad so it was forced to fight with them.

Zardkeanu's throw would actually manage to hit near one of them with a rock, however while the rock didn't do anything what it hit would startle the Messenger Locust enough for them to get riled up. The fact was her rock would sail through the air and hit a nut lying on the ground near them causing it to be crushed which squirted it's inner juices on one the Messenger Locusts, unfortunately for that Messenger Locust it was a status inflicting nut and the left side of it's body where the juices touched would be numbed. It would fall over and would let out distressed sounds causing it's companion to blame the Lizardfolk and thus try and put itself between them and it's status afflicted ally. Perhaps this was the opening that they had been banking on as for whatever reason it didn't flee and instead stuck around trying to protect it's fellow Messenger Locust.

"Looks like they're not going to run now!", Teak said rather excitedly. "Then we attack!" Keanu was just hoping they could get both of them. Keanu guessed they were mates, and something made the other useless. He'd just hope whatever ailed the numbed locust stayed that way so they could finish the both of them. He readied his blade, Teak taking notice and following suit. Both ran into the clearing, aimed to attack the closer locust.

The two Lizardfolk would rush the Messenger Locust who would valiantly try to attack them in turn with it's mandibles however though it would bite Zardkeanu's arm it couldn't penetrate his scales and would be cut by Zardteak's Kama Mantis scythe. Zardkeanu would follow suit dealing the finishing blow despite his swing not being nearly as fluid as Zardteak's. With that they would have dispatched one of the Messenger Locust's with the only one remaining being prone on the ground unable to move more than just trying to crawl away rather slowly.

Spoiler:

Teak dove in first after the second locust, not even bothering to check if the first one was dead. It was weak enough to get hit again after downing the other if it was still alive. Keanu made sure the first one was dead before readying his scythe and backing Teak up if needed.

Zardteak would take a nice swing at the numbed Messenger Locust almost killing it in a single blow, while Zardkeanu couldn't observe whether that the Messenger Locust was alive or not but seeing as it didn't move and large gashes were in it's body it was pretty likely it was dead. As for the numbed Messenger Locust it would stop moving after the first hit but it would still twitch causing Zardteak to strike it once more in order to fell it. With that they had killed both of them and could return home if they liked with their fresh bounty. That is assuming they didn't try and eat one of them now considering they were rather hungry from all that running around and combat.

Keanu gave out a happy little huff. The two of them did so good together. He gathered one of the monster meats while Teak was also gathering the other from his kill. Keanu noticed Teak was about ready to eat his catch. Keanu heard his stomach grumble, but that meant they may need to hunt for more to bring back later. This was a tough decision to make but they were hungry babbins. "Zardteak! Let's share one and bring the other home to eat later." Teak was already half biting the monster meat and just let out a muffled 'ok'. Hopefully that would sate the two for the time being before they went out to hunt again.

It was quite a peaceful meal and the two of them would manage to get back tot he Lizardkin burrow in one piece, fortunately each time they headed out they didn't seem to run into problems hopefully they could keep their lucky streak going.

(Zardteak & Zardkeanu return to burrow before nightfall, you can post in burrow or you can head out for another hunt but it'll be in the evening.)

[Nightfall Hunt 2]

Keanu and Teak snuck around through the brush, whispering with each other what could be out there. What night food tasted like. Was it good? Did it taste better than what they had earlier? The idea of food got Teak drooling a bit while Keanu was looking around to see if there was anything out there. There was noise, more than the brush, but he couldn't find the source of this noise. It was definitely different from daytime.

As the two walked they would come across a strange sight it was a single horse grazing on grass seemingly without a care in the world, however what stood out about this horse was that it had two horns on it's head. Either way it would continue eating while the aimless lizardfolk walked about searching for food to fill their bellies once more. One of it's ears would twitch and then it would stop grazing before looking straight at them and freezing in place as if it hadn't expected something to come this close to it and initially not knowing how to react. Still it would watch and wait as it was larger than them and despite looking like it only ate grass it seemed like it had a hunger in it's eyes for what they could not know.

Keanu and Teak inched near to get a better look at this creature but stopped when it stopped munching on grass and stared straight at them. This thing was huge. They were both hungry but would they try to get this thing to sate hunger?

...No. Despite their hunger, Keanu gently grabbed Teak's arm as he was starting to back away slowly, daring not to look away from this thing. This might be a little too big of a thing for the two to hunt on their own. And the stare it had, that was uncomfortable.

The Dual Horned Horse would let them go not bothering to pursue them despite having every intention to murder them if they had tried to attack it, but instead it would stare after them until they completely vanished from sight and then some before snorting and going back to grazing on the ground. Meanwhile with the Lizardfolk they would manage to escape and would continue moving until the bad feeling that they both felt faded away, fortunately for them they wouldn't run into anything else immediately, but it seemed that they were still hungry so they would have to continue hunting or try and return home hungry.

Keanu and Teak wandered off, a sigh of relief coming from Keanu's lips. That was not a good feeling. "Still hungry though.." They both didn't want to go back home hungry. The sound of their bellies rumbling was more than something that would bother them. The two lizardfolk decided to try to hunt for something smaller, and definitely not an angry giant grass eater.

they were lucky as they would stumble upon a lone Stamp Piglet grazing a couple of meters away fortunately for them though a grass eater it was significantly smaller only being roughly their size due to it's bulk. It was blissfully unaware that they were approaching at least until Zardteak stepped on a twig causing it to look up and spot them before narrowing it's eyes and promptly charging forward. The piglet fully intended on not being these Lizardkin's dinner no way, it would rather make them it's dinner instead after all it was an omnivore whenever it got the chance to be.

There was not much time to think with this creature actually bolting at them. Thankfully, this one seemed a bit doable. Keanu grabbed his kama mantis scythe and ran in to push Teak out of the piglet's line of sight. Depending on how much time there was left, Keanu would try to brace for impact and block as much of the charge with the scythe. Teak on the other hand would tumble to the side and get up, shaking the dirt off and grabbing his scythe as well, turning and digging his footclaws into the dirt and pushing off the ground to raze the side of this piglet.

Zardkeanu would manage to block the block though he was still knocked off his feet due to the impact and his Kama Mantis Claw would be damaged somewhat severely from the impact, still it would hold together. This action would leave the Stamp Piglet open to a strike from Zardteak causing it to squeal in pain as a gash was opened up on it's side. It would try to turn before attempting to tackle Zardteak this time due to having been injured by him.

Keanu did his best to get back up, and tackle the piglet before it could turn on Teak. Meanwhile, Teak, was doing everything he can to slice up this creature as much as possible so it wasn't able to fight or run. If Keanu missed, he would do what he could to tumble and land on his feet before springing towards the piglet again.

Zardkeanu would manage to get up and he would manage to tackle the Stamp Piglet causing it to be knocked off it's feet for a bit before it straightened back up after rolling a bit. Fortunately that gave Zardteak the opportunity to slash at it some more opening two more slashes on it's body causing it to squeal even more as it's body was further wounded and it would try to back up away from the two of them so it could get some distance before trying another tackle too blinded with rage and pain to retreat.

Keanu and Teak seemed more than confident now that this fight was actually going well. "It's weak! We can do this!" Keanu readied his kama mantis scythe, moving it back to smack the piglet, more or less aiming for the side of its neck or its back. Teak held his low, swinging up to snag it on its underside instead.

The two Lizardkin would continue to bully the poor Stamp Piglet and with successive blows even though Zardteak would get tackled this time, they would manage to bring it down with a bit of bruises but nothing too serious. At the very least the hunt wasn't completely worthless even though they initially got to a rough start and now they'd be able to return to the Den with their chins held high. Still it was quite a journey back home for them and their latest prey hopefully they wouldn't run into anything attracted to the scent of a fresh kill..

[New Hunt]

With a third Lizardfolk with them, Teak and Keanu felt a bit better fighting off stronger enemies. As they made their way around the area, Sha, Teak, and Keanu would try to forage for food to sate Teak's infinite hunger while they were looking for any kind of creature to hunt down.

The trio would emerge from their burrow and it looked like one of those days where things would go right for a change, especially since they now had a third individual. Zardsha was a bit more level headed and the rest of the group and would wait a bit before walking. "Where going?" she said essentially asking which direction they were headed to her eyes wide as she hadn't really been outside for that long since she had hatched. Meanwhile somewhere within the wasteland a particular monster would wake up, yawning for a bit before covering himself with mud and proceeding to sneak around as he looked for his favored prey. Hopefully today wouldn't be one of those days he went hungry but there was something in the air that told him it was going to be a good day to hunt.

Even with the vast foliage around, it seemed like foraging was going to be fruitless. Upon hearing her question, Keanu stood up and away from a bush he was sifting through. "To find something to eat." While Teak's stomach was the louder of the two, Keanu couldn't deny he was getting hungry too. The trio continued their walk, keeping an eye out for practically anything that was edible be it creature or plant.

As they walked they were being watched though they didn't realize it at least until it was too late, a spear would be thrown and was aimed straight at Zardsha's eye and it would puncture it causing her to shriek in agony and fall to the ground. The spear which was thrown would actually be jerked out of her eye and would trail back to a tree about fifteen feet away where it was pulled upward by the rope which was attached to it. It was unfortunate but it seemed that poison berries had been smeared on the spear point which caused even more damage than normal. From his position Koadamz would smile savagely before shifting his position within the tree so that they couldn't pinpoint where he was while reapplying his Horned Horse Spear with poison berry poison. He hadn't had many Lizardkin in his life but he found their flesh the most delicious thing he had tasted besides Dwarf.
