PostSubject: A Sinking Feeling[Official Mission - Akira, Roark, Diana]   A Sinking Feeling[Official Mission - Akira, Roark, Diana] Icon_minitime13th June 2021, 6:48 pm

With all of the composite elements now pulled together, everyone who was told to come to the Prison Dome were now placed into a room with a lovely view of the ocean to one side. All in all there were six people in the room, including Akira, Roark and Diana but not including Banjo, so that meant there were actually seven people in the room.

Once everyone was in and comfortably seated, a rather grumpy looking Jonin who was part of the Military Police entered and sat down on a table at the front, she kicked her legs up onto the chair and rubbed her eyes for a few long moments before starting to speak. "Now that everyone's here, I can talk openly. We've got a bit of a fucky situation going on." She told them with a wave of her hand before going back to rubbing her eyes. "Far as we can tell, some rogue elements managed to infiltrate the prison during the fucking Bijuu attack, as if we didn't have enough to deal with. They've been right sneaky though, just lurking around, taking info, occasionally snatching a guard off patrol, things like that. Things have been so fucked up that it took us this long to notice."

She then sighed loudly before continuing her speech. "Biggest issue is though, a riot's kicked off. There's some bad shit going on down there and we don't have enough hands to deal with it, hence pulling some of you lot off of normal tasks to help us out. We've got three main ways of getting in, none of them are pretty, all of them have issues of their own. I've got two students I'll be taking with me, you three..." She waved at Akira, Roark and Diana before correcting herself "...You four, monkey included, you're a team and the other three of you are a different team. Leave your bickering for later, I've got info about the paths in for you." She then started to speak about the three different ways in and the issues within them.

Once she was done, she looked across the room before nodding and pointing at Banjo. "Team Monkey, you get to choose where you're heading first." And then she leaned back to let the decisions happen so she didn't need to talk anymore.

PostSubject: Re: A Sinking Feeling[Official Mission - Akira, Roark, Diana]   A Sinking Feeling[Official Mission - Akira, Roark, Diana] Icon_minitime17th June 2021, 6:03 pm

As luck would have it, Diana would end up right back at where her first assignment was during the Bijuu attacks, the prison. What she had believed to be an easy task had gone south the moment she lost concentration mid-fight and was jumped by a number of prisoners who all had ill intentions with her young and innocent body. Fortunately for her, she had managed to escape their clutches and make it to safety but now it was time for her to settle the score with these freaks. Diana would allow the Jonin to deliver her exposé and waited until she was given further orders and where she was being placed and once she got her team instructions she would move over to her teammates. “Hiya, I’m Diana! I hope we have a smooth mission together.” She said with her usual warm smile while holding up the peace sign. “Hmm, I was going to say that I don’t mind where we go but I really don’t want to go down that water place, I just did my hair. So if we could avoid that I’d be grateful.” It was unfortunate that she had gotten called up to this mission the moment she was getting ready to go see Praise and even though she had gotten the go-ahead from the commander to take some time off she would’ve felt bad not helping out the village, even though that’s all she’s been doing.

PostSubject: Re: A Sinking Feeling[Official Mission - Akira, Roark, Diana]   A Sinking Feeling[Official Mission - Akira, Roark, Diana] Icon_minitime17th June 2021, 6:20 pm

At first Akira had wonderred why exactly he was the one pulled in to this. Perhaps it was just he was the one on hand? He, and Roark for that matter too, were already in the Prison area, coming over to a still in use wing just made sense. But upon hearing what exactly was going on, it fit into what Akira was specialised in. Likewise, he would give a friendly greeting to the various other members he had not walked in with, curious to see what Diana could do when matched with the two, err three, of them.

With a sweep of his long coat he stepped forwards and began looking over the plans. "If I might, I would very much like to vote we veto the Wet route. I don't aim to assume, but from what I have witnessed thusfar from our companions here," He waved vaguely towards Roark and Banjo, "I feel underwater combat may not be to their advantage either. However I can firmly say, it would be much the same for myself. So skipping out on that? Works for me. Drying leather is... not fun. I also feel we as a trio, or quartet my apologies Sirs, are more than capable of taking on a certain Party. I feel we are all strong enough to handle such a group. However," He dug through his pocket, producing his mask and slipping it on to his face. "The last route, it certainly does feel Spicy. And one that I certainly know would allow me to really play up to my strengths. I am a capable shinobi with a speciality in ambush and tactics. It is in my opinion that I would prefer the Spicy Route, however I also acknowledge I am obviously not alone. And this will be a Team effort regardless."

Roark and Banjo had walked in with Akira but stood in the back during the lecture, after all the chairs they put out weren't exactly accommodating to Banjo size. Hmm, more prison business. Should be interesting. At least we know that fella is plenty capable in a bind. Roark muttered to Banjo quietly while the ANBU wrapped up her briefing. Banjo simply grunted in agreement. Peeling off from the wall, the two walked over to Akira and the new girl they had been partnered with. When Diana mentioned she had just done her hair, Roark snorted and said, You and him both then. hooking a thumb towards Banjo beside him who stared at Diana, interested in this new person and new scent. Aye, like Akira said, water isn't really our cup o' tea. Spicy sounds fine by me. I had fun knocking some prisoner skulls together earlier, should be more o' the same I figur. He nodded in thought, staring at the board and giving it a glance over one more time to see if they had missed anything. Then, remembering he said, My mistake little lady, my name is Roark, this is Banjo. Nice to meet'cha. He put out a hand towards Diana. He was still getting used to working with people half his age, but the ones he had worked with, such as Akira and that Kirai girl had proved their worth beyond what he had ever expected, so he wasn't going to start complaining now.

"Alright then, I'll lead you lot to the entry point." The Jonin got up and rolled her shoulders before leading the way to the entry point for those she dubbed Team Monkey. The stairway down had a large steel door closed over it with its durability reinforced by a nearby Cypher prison officer. With a bit of back and forth conversation, the two guards either side of the heavily reinforced door pulled it open revealing a fairly dark stairway down, the lighting here was intermittent but still active.

"Okay you lot. Primary objective is to deal with the prisoners and make sure they can be put back into their cells. Everyone you meet should have suppression collars and cuffs on, they won't have access to their chakra or other energy sources, they will still be capable of some of their physical stuff though, even if it is weaker. So watch out for that. Try not to kill the prisoners, especially the more valuable ones that you'll find as you get deeper but if you have to... Well it's you or them and I'd rather have some helpful shinobi than scumfuck prisoners, so yeah do what you need to. Secondary objective is to try and find that infiltrator and if possible bring them in or kill them, I have no idea where they are but they'll probably be the only one without a suppression collar in there so it'll be a bit of a hint." With that done she then stepped forward and took Akira's hand, pressing her palm flat onto the back of his hand. After a second she removed it and there was a mark left there almost like a Fuinjutsu seal. "Alarm trigger. If you're in deep shit or you need help taking down the infiltrator, hit that and hopefully help will arrive soon but... It's mostly a hope, we're stretched thin. I believe in you guys though, good luck!" She gave a wave and turned, jogging off to grab her own team and head into a separate entry point.

If the Team entered the stairway, which they hopefully would, the door would end up shut behind them after they were told the correct series of knocks to use to signify it was them. The stairway was fairly right, only wide enough for two people side by side and each section was shielded from the rest to make it easier to defend. The bottom of the stairway opened up to a crossroads with a pitch black path to the left with the lights broken, a path forwards that seemed to have voices coming from that direction and a path to the right that was littered with broken furniture and rubble to create a blockade. It was time for the mission to begin properly and once more the team had a choice of where to go. Although there was a sign on the wall, half broken, stating that the stairs leading deeper into the complex were down the path directly ahead of them.

I can’t promise that. Diana thought wanting to say that out loud but decided against it since it would probably make her look bloodthirsty. The truth was, her style of fighting was meant for maiming and killing but she suppose she could use lightning or Vivaan if need be. Once the briefing was over with, Diana would make her way to the entrance of the stairway and would be startled the moment she entered and the door closed behind them. “Scary.” She said jokingly as she moved down the stairwell until her ears picked up some voices. “Hmm, nice a fork in the road. It seems there are some people to our left which probably means that they are some prisoners, while the other seems to lead somewhere else entirely.” Then there was the path before them which meant they were ripe with choices. She was more interested in seeing what was going on with those voices to be fair but she’d wait to see what the others thought as for once she was in the backseat for a mission.

Once stepped through the door and having it lock tight behind them, Akira stretched himself out in a few ways to loosen up, and slipping his mask on to his face, letting the effects take over. He was happy to just follow and keep track, his eyes sharp and analysing everything of the area. Getting back out wouldn't be too hard, but who knows, if they were going down the separate forks getting back to reach the other would be handy to know the exact way. "Well... I suppose we can wait and see what we find. Hopefully we can find just prisoners and no in danger guards. But our mission is to clear out the prisoners causing trouble, so surely this way will lead us to people." With both his mask and the Silent Killing technique, he had honed his stealth further, and increased his own sensory through the Spiritual sensory.

Before entering the path, Roark shifted into his weapon state, which Banjo took in hand and placed in the leather strapped holster he wore like a small backpack. Keep your eyes, and more importantly your nose, open Banj. Last thing we need are some surprises while down here. Clearing out those prisoners wasn't too bad earlier, but somethin bout this gives me goose flesh, y'know? The Blango snorted in agreement as he followed Akira and Diana down the path, walking on all fours, his sense of smell heightened. Roark debated walking with them, but for now figured having their own element of surprise could come in handy. If someone was watching them from the shadows, they'd see only three, rather than four possible targets. Doesn't matter to me, so just go with what they say and keep an eye on their backs. Roark instructed through their neural link. Banjo nodded in the direction Diana and Akira seemed to be favoring, towards the voices Diana had mentioned, indicating that he agreed and would take up the rear if they went that way.

"-Can get us out of the cells but can't get out of the prison? What kinda useless idiot did they send for us?" The voices echoed back down as the group listened in and waited to see what would happen. "Don't let them hear you say that, you wanna get fucking murdered?" A second voice hissed back before both of them suddenly stopped. It would appear that while their speech had been heard, no one in the Shinobi group was using signs or talking particularly quietly and their speech had been heard as well. There was the sound of scrabbling, a shrieking of metal and then silence once more filled the area.

Nothing visible seemed to change but there were no more voices now and the same three paths as before, it was up to the Shinobi Group to finally choose a path and follow it. The voices had come from straight ahead, apparently the same direction as the stairs down, the left path was still pitch black without a single light source and the right hand path was still ruined and busted up, it'd probably need a solid A-Rank strength to shift it by muscle alone, though stacking damage of SS-Rank would likely work to blow away the rubble.

Diana would nod as it seemed everyone would be in agreement on where to go and would begin moving towards the voices straight ahead. She was sure she didn’t have to tell her teammates that if they had any special type of sensory techniques now would be the perfect time to use them since they were pretty much in unfamiliar territory and it would totally suck if someone or something managed to get the jump on them. She’d try her best to keep an eye out as well but she’d be relying on her teammates to tell her if something was out of the ordinary. She did, however, keep her hand on her katana so if she did get jumped she would be able to react in time to defend herself and not get dog-piled on like the last time.

Akira wasn't completely used to this new ability since he was given access to the Beyond branch of techniques, but glancing at his two companions at least certainly confirmed that his new sensory was in effect. Though he purposely made attempts to keep himself from seeing... too much. He didn't exactly like that he was seeing what was basically information pertaining to their life according to Jashin. From the sudden hush down the halls, it seemed we hadn't been quiet enough. Though he was certain his own steps wouldn't have given away. Perhaps they had misjudged the length of this particular corridor. But how to test?

He put a hand out to stop the two, or at least slow them down. He had a thought, a fairly typical method for him. He tapped the side of his head, then his eyes, then turned down the corridor and threw his hand out. Unless the two of them also possessed some form of spirit sensory, they wouldn't see the black shadowy weasel seem to unwind from inside Akira's coat and go flying down the corridor on recon. He had worked with his spirits plenty now that a simple motion was all it took to instruct them on scouting. More so as otherwise he liked to keep them particularly close.

Giving Kame-E a moment, he would nod and begin to walk again whilst waiting for the recon to return to them. All the while he would keep his eyes open, using said new spiritual sensory to watch Kame-E's leave and return clear as day. And once done he would relay any information back, along with warn of any living movement in front of them.

Ooooh boy, hear that Banj? Sounds like we got some hooligans to rough up. Roark said through their mental link. If the man had knuckles right now, he would have cracked them and the anticipation for a fight was truly exciting him. To the Blango's credit, rather than grunt as he normally did to acknowledge Roark, he remained silent and simply nodded. Banjo kept his head, but more importantly his nose, on a swivel as the group continued down into the prison and moved towards the area the voices had been. Getting closer would hopefully start to reveal the scents of the prisoners if they were hiding and ideally give Banjo a sense of just how many there were, if not where they were in the room/tunnel. For the time being, it was slow goings and Banjo made sure to keep the rear of their party protected. Both Roark and Banjo had been in situations like this before and knew how quickly things could pop off.

Kame-E for its part would fly down the corridor and find the next area deserted only catching the tail end of someone running around the corner further down the path. It would appear that the area was a prisoner transit area with a guard post behind a, now shattered, window and a large metal gate on rails that had been completely ripped off its hinges. There was another gate leading to a set of stairs but that one was still closed, meaning they'd either need to find a way to open it normally or attempt to break it down.

Luckily for Kami-E though, Diana was the one at point of the actual group and would spot something that the spirit would've missed. Amongst the rubble of the transit area there was a concealed tripwire that seemed to be connected to a bundle of explosive tags at either end. Without reaction tiers it was incredibly difficult to see and the team likely would have tripped it if people within the party didn't possess the necessary tiers. Now it was up to the team to decide if they wanted to just blow the door to the stairs off its hinges or try and open it up normally as well as dealing with that tripwire.

Hold on.” Diana said putting up her right hand signaling the group to stop.  She had seen it from the corner of her eye and was lucky to catch it just in time. “Tripwire.” She said pointing down to the location of the wire. She had thought about triggering the wire with one of her kunai but she would wait to see if any of her teammates had a better idea. There was also the door that seemed to be their only way out and it seemed pretty sturdy but she was hoping the man and his monkey would have enough strength to break through as she had a wild guess that there wasn’t a key around. “What do we do?” She said turning to her teammates hoping they could come up with a plan.

As Kame-E returned, Akira listened to it's report, and in turn passed it on; prisoners had just left the room, the layout and damage, but it seemed Kame-E missed the traps. Thankfully they had Diana for that. But then there was the immediately answer; "We could... step over it? But I do suppose then it leaves it for anyone else that might follow, huh."

Oh, they're talking again, guess I should step in for a minute. Roark thought with a sigh and Banjo grunted in agreement, pulling Roark from the holster on his back. Immediately, Roark transformed back into his humanoid self, arms crossed as he inspected the corridor. Good find, kid. He said, nodding to the spot Diana had pointed out with the tripwire. [color]That could've been...messy.[/color] He stepped carefully, avoiding the wire that Diana had indicated to get a better look at the sealed gate and whistled, shaking his head in disappointment, Nah, too sturdy for Banj and I, unfortunately. Which really makes you wonder... He trailed off, staring at the identical gate which had been ripped off its hinges. That certainly didn't bode well for the type of people that were down here. Roark had to hope that was just an unfortunate left over from the initial attack.

He sighed and turned back to the group, trying to keep his voice as hushed as possible, Fact o'the matter is, they obviously know we're down here. Heard 'em scraping around and running about. I'm all for caution but we're taking a lot of time just to walk around and get our bearings and the more time we take, the more burrowed in they get. We gotta... He trailed off for a minute, thinking, We gotta smoke 'em out. Any of you got something like that? A poison or a wide effect technique we could use to gas 'em? Or at least make it uncomfortable to stay hidden? Banj and I are mostly single target types unfortunately, not really made for this business.

It was unfortunate that they were unable to brute force their way through so she’d assume there was something somewhere that would help them out in this situation or they were screwed. Noticing the guard post, she’d make her way over there to search the post. She’d notice that in order to need open the door they’d need a key. “There may be a key for the door so maybe its somewhere near here? Wouldn’t hurt to look.” She had doubts that the key would still be around but she thought it would give them some time before they moved to Roark’s plan. “I could flood the place with water but I’m not sure if that would hamper us in the future” That and the water would be laced with poison, she’d be fine but she doubted that the others would be.

OOC: Since it's been about a week and we're just chatting right now, I'm going to skip Sophie so we can try to move this along.

Hmm not a bad idea, I'm gonna take a look at this trap you pointed out. I reckon if you don't find a key in there, we just head down the hallway and see who we can find. I figur if this trap is here, there will probably be others but hopefully you can spot them for us, or worst comes to worst we just send the monkey in first, he's expendable. Roar said with a chuckle, though Banjo didn't find that idea amusing in the least. The large ape shoved Roark with a meaty paw, huffing and walking away, Oi, watch it. Oh don't be like that you little baby. Now come on, help me with this trap, we need to remove the explosive tags but don't touch that wire, ya hear? Banjo snorted but carefully moved to the other side of the tripwire and behind the explosive tag, waiting for Roark's orders. Don't touch the wire, like I said and make sure the sparking mechanism for the tag doesn't activate, alright? He then readied himself, On three, remove the tag from the trap. 1...2...3! He said and both attempted to disarm the trap at the same time.

"Pretty sure flooding the area would just reset us to going the wet route." Akira answered back with a slight snicker at the notion of that. He remained back some, still taking in the room, and feeling he could trust Roark to work upon the trap. His nature would make any sort of explosion if something went wrong lesser in comparison surely? He could only assume anyway. He still didn't exactly know Roark too well besides his status as a part time weapon. He was careful to overstep, whilst also staying out of the way, and turned his attention to the rest of the room. "Anyway, you asked about poison? Well, I do admittedly have access, however they're more... direct application. I will keep the exacts to myself, just as a small precaution in case we have any staying back to listen in on us in return. But I must say I can't do as you ask. Though... perhaps I should indeed work on some more gas type attacks." He would continue forwards, looking to check for the door the prisoners had gone through and in turn checking for extra traps. Who knew after all.

For this group it would appear that Lady Luck was on their side in more ways than one. First, as Roark and Banjo got to work, they'd set up and do their motions, the countdown was perfect. However Roark's arm caught the wire as he pulled up and it snapped... Shame that Roark and Banjo were holding the explosives that should've been set off. With that trap fully disarmed, the next bit of luck instead came to Diana.

Searching around in the guard post, Diana would end up finding a corpse buried under some rubble, a Torture and Interrogation Chunin it would seem. If she searched the corpse, she'd find the required key on a chain around the Chunin's neck and would also find 5 Dipu Style Kunai and 5 C-Rank Smoke Bombs on his person. Everything else was either too damaged to be useful or completely coated in gore and viscera.

The key was in fact the one they were looking for and its use would open up the armoured door and allowing access to the stairway down deeper into the Prison.

Poor bastards. Diana thought to herself as she searched the corpse finding a couple of kunais and smoke bombs which she would, of course, pocket even though she probably had more throwables than she needed but the dead guy wasn’t going to use it so might as well take them. “Well lucky me, found the key.” Diana exclaimed before making her way to the door while keeping her eyes open for any surprises again and once it was clear she would unlock the door and push it open. She’d wait until everyone had gathered before leading the line down the stairs while keeping her eyes peeled for any shenanigans.

Well, better than nothing I s'pose. Roark said, looking over the explosive tag while Banjo brought over the one he had diffused as well. The Blango gave him a look of stern discipline and Roark muttered, What?! It didn't go off did it? althoughitalmostdid. He added at the end as he grabbed the tag from Banjo and stuffed it in his coat pocket. A loud clink sounded in the small area they were in and Roark turned to see Diana had managed to find the key, or another way to unlock the massive door, and was now moving it aside to open the corridor. Aye, nice work Lil'Lady. If we're all set, let's get moving. Feel like we've been down here for a week already. Roark said as he approached Diana and would follow her into the corridor so long as Akira was ready to go as well.

Akira was just as eager to continue onwards, feeling the tug either side of his spirit companions nearby just as firmly as the living ones. He stopped by the dead body, motioning for the others that he would be right with them. He knelt down, closed his eyes and pressed a hand to the poor soul's head. He didn't know if said actually soul was still around, but he still felt drawn to pay his respects regardless. "Find peace." He said and stood to hurry and catch up. In order to speed that up, he swiped his finger across his mask and summoned Arsene to his side, hoping on to it's back and focusing his movements, along with his puppets, to retract any sorts of sounds to keep moving in silence.

He was rather content to remain at the back, keeping alert and checking down any corridor they might pass or crevice that someone could ambush them from by trapping them in. Tight spaces like this, being surrounded could make things exceptionally difficult and dangerous after all.

The gate opened with a loud clunk and then everyone headed downstairs. No other traps were noticed on the stairs, it was only when they reached the next open floor that they would run into some problems. The stairs further down had been destroyed so in order to progress further they'd need to find another set of stairs and helpfully there were wall signs pointing to the next one.

The only issue was the corridor they'd need to go down. The entire thing was laced with wires crossing over and cutting across each other down the entire length of the corridor. At the far end of the corridor was a barricade that they would then need to break through. Any simple look or check of the wires would reveal that each wire was wickedly sharp and some of them were already stained with blood. It was going to be tricky to get to the end of the corridor but there were a few ways to do this... Depending on how much noise they wanted to make.

Roark’s praise would cause her to smile as she was happy that she was of some use to the team as finding and locating clues, traps and the like weren’t her forte. With that said she would take the lead once more and made her way down the stairs which would of course be covered in wires. Where did they even get the wires to even set up these traps? Letting out a sigh she would put her hand up to signal to the others to stop. “Bunch of wires here seems like we could navigate it with no problem if we went really slow since they are spaced in a way to prevent us from just running down the corridor, they seem quite sturdy too. Sad really.” Diana said with a sigh as she waited to see if anyone wanted to destroy the wires or walk slowly through them.
