Herding Cats [D-rank Mission]

Mission:

Indra wandered through the streets of Kohaigakure. Reconstruction was moving quickly and damage to the village, while initially appearing terrible, actually wasn't too compared. This was especially true when compared to the rest of the Republic. They had lost plenty of good men and women, even civilians caught by surprise in the Ichibi's attack. Again though, compared to the rest of the Republic...well, he should count himself and his village lucky. However, at this current moment he was having a hard time thinking of himself as lucky in any way, shape or form.
Cats?! They want me to track down a cat and bring it back? How is this a shinobi job? Don't people usually just put up posters and wait for someone to come knocking with Stuffles, or whatever its name is? He griped, asking the world at large but no one in particular. He then looked at the briefing for the mission and slapped his face, Or Muffin...come knocking with Muffin. Indra sighed at the ridiculousness of the name. He had never been much of an animal lover, considering neither of his parents ever wanted a pet in the house. Cats in particular though...there was no lost love between him and the persnickety beasts.

He turned the corner, walking down the street of where the family that was looking for...Muffin...used to live. All things considered, this street actually wasn't too bad. One or two roofs had caved in, but the structures were still all upright. They would want to wait for the engineer corps to come and take a look at the buildings, fix up any major issues to make the livable again, before moving people back into their homes. Cats and other such pests, er pets, obviously were free to do and go where they please. Indra checked the house number again as he came to a building with the left side of the roof ripped off from the intense dust storm Shukaku had whipped up upon his arrival. Each of the windows had long since been shattered, but otherwise the house looked relatively solid. Indra stepped up and tried the door, finding it unlocked in the family's haste to get away.

Hello? Muffin? He called, then rolled his eyes at the thought of expecting an answer as if this creature were human. He took on a more childish, ridiculous approach, but one he had heard from actual pet owners, Muffin, here kitty kitty. Here Muffin. Come on... He looked at the briefing again, regarding Muffin's information, ...boy? Wow that's just cruel. Up above, Indra heard something move, kicking up a small plume of dust and debris. He took the stairs two at a time, each groan of the steps making him tense in anticipation of falling through, Here Muffy, muff. Again he paused, realizing how ridiculous that sounded, a bit embarrassed even but glad no one else was around to hear him. He shook his head and stepped into what he assumed to be a child's room, considering the cradle in the back corner.

There, in the child's crib sat a relatively dirty but mostly unharmed furball. There you are! Come on, let's go and get this over with. Indra said, approaching the cat and sticking his hand into the crib to grab the cat. A hiss and then searing pain in his hand made him step back. The cat had scratched him, drawing blood and was now hissing its tiny head off, clearly unamused by Indra's intrusion upon its domain. You little piece of- Indra said, holding his hand in pain but sighing, Fine, have it your way your highness. Guess they're getting a crib with their delivery. Indra said as he enhanced his strength a bit and picked the entire crib up, cat included. The creature seemed unsure, but stayed in the crib, continuing to his but thankfully not swatting at Indra anymore. I hate you too, Muffin. Indra mumbled as he stepped out of the house, crib and cat hoisted over his head.
