Better Together: Kobolala's Days

Kobolala was leader of the Beta Hunting Party?! She had tried not to be so shocked, to keep her cool. Kobotia had so much faith in her it seemed, but she didn't know if she deserved any of that. She'd just done what she thought was right and helped protect her from the traitors, and now... well she hoped to look to those in the group with her to help her to learn to be a better member of the Kobold clan. "Ok! ... I haven't hunted before, but you all saw that I am no push over," She held out the discoloured barb she had taken in the den earlier as her proof. "So let us do our best for our people. They're all counting on us," Her innocence was shining through again in her smile, though hoping she could inspire.

Koboling would nod immediately, she was a brown kobold who had reddish brown paws and was the only other female in the hunting party besides Kobolala. Kobovn was also in agreement, if only because she was appointed by the Alpha and he rather liked that Kobotia wasn't a meathead and actually respected his contributions and didn't think he was a weirdo or anything like that. He was black with brown spots along his fur and possessed a makeshift shield that had been harvested from an Armored Tanuki. Their former leader Koborou was pensive, he had fur peppered by black and red but for the most part he was a brown furred kobold albeit being currently clad in Black Pup fur. The reason for his hesitation was simple while he respected her fighting ability he did not thinks he was experience in the art of hunting thus he would not fully accept her until she was blooded on something other than the traitors. "And we shall, we need to provide more meat for those at home, hopefully we will get big game today." Koborou said before turning to Kobolala so as she could lead them in the hunt this time.

Kobolala looked at the bunch just to get a idea of how they were. She still had no idea why she was in charge, it just didn't seem right when there was clearly much more experienced Kobo here. Just the day before she was a starving welp, probably still looked it too even after a good meal or two. She understood who was in charge before her as the one who spoke to her, and she nodded in turn. "Big game, bigger bonds, biggest trust." She didn't know quite where those words came from but they seemed apt. She looked back the way that they had come, thinking to herself what the best method would be. She knew she could ask for help, but she wanted to prove her capability. "Then we go this way. Same direction with Kobotia. Any prey they scare off, run right in to us." She looked to Koborou for guidance on if she was thinking right or not.

"No, not today, we head this way, old path Kobotia travel, more ground covered. Trying to get used to hunt area." Koborou said taking that as a note that he was right about Kobolala's experience. Kobovon would shrug as their former leader started to walk off smirking at Kobolala and beckoning her to follow whereas Koboling would wait a bit longer before heading off so that she could bring up the rear. They would travel for a bit before they would come upon an odd sight, it was a Human dressed in rags running full speed past them, obviously that wasn't something any of them were used to as before then they had never seen a human. However what said human was running from became obvious once they heard the shouts. It would seem that the human was being chased by other humans and they were unfortunately right in-between the two of them. In total there were three other humans chasing after her, two of them were in rags as well with what appeared to be shackles around their arms and chains attached to them while the last was bigger than the other two and was carrying a whip which he would crack occasionally to encourage the others to chase the fleeing man quicker.

----------------Day 4-------------

Kobolala was getting more confident since last walking the trails with the group, and once they were outside of their guarded territory she dropped herself lower, eyes trained and sneaking through the area with her Sneak skill. Sniffing at the air she silently used her free hand not holding the aquired Aqua Barb to lead them in their direction. Their goal was water and she was focused on finding it.

Koboling and Kobovon were smiling still high off of their escapades yesterday with Kobotia, meanwhile Koborou was focused as even though he now felt like he was stronger than Kobolala he trusted in his alpha's decision to make her Beta and not him. Still he was aiming for a special title of his own, maybe not one of beta but if possible he would like be the Hunter Party Gamma instead of say Koboalpha. He felt like he deserved it more but would still sneak along with the rest of the Kobold's towards their destination his new weapon clutched firmly in his hand reassuring him that he had an edge over Koboalpha in that way. Fortunately thanks to their sneaking skills they would run into a pair of Red Deer who were grazing on some grass and minding their business.

Easy meat as far as Lala was concerned, and signalled to the hunting team that they were to strike as one. She led them around to a better position staying low still, and with a cry the trio emerged together. She sent Koboling and Kobovon after the left whilst she took the right. As Beta she had a duty to fulfill, so she would take one solo, but with the other two they were move likely to still get at least one. Each kobold was stabbing at vital spots with their barbs, in Lala's case her obtained Aqua Barb.

The Kobolds would strike as one with the battle cry not going off unfortunately but both Red Deer were spooked enough that they were unprepared for the incoming strikes. This would allow Kobolala's Aqua Barb to cleanly penetrate it's rectum to deal damage to it's internal organs while Koboling, kobovon & koborou followed suit taking advantage of their targets pain in order to repeatedly stab it in the now bleeding orifice. However it seemed that these monsters were a lot hardier than one would give them credit for. As such Kobovon would switch to his new weapon and put his Organic Barb away while lifting his shield mirrored by Kobovon and Koboling. Kobovon had confidence in his Beta but this might be tough, then again it seemed like she was set on fighting on her own so he would need to make sure they finished off this one so they could help her if need be.

The Two Red Deer would bound away initially one of them reeling from being attacked in such a manner before anger took over fear and they would each attack one target. One would go for Kobolala intend on rapping it's horns into her torso while the other would go for Koboling as she was the only one who didn't have as scary equipment as the others.

"Ling to me," Kobolala gave the command, leaving the other two to their own devices with the other deer, and right away she knew exactly what to do. The Tanuki shell wielded as a shield was brought in a hard charge against the Deer the Beta was dealing with to throw it off it's feet and dizzying. And Kobolala used that to bring the Aqua Barb back to them. And together Koborou and Kobovon switched to the stronger weapons, Koborou and the jawbone, and Von and the mantis claw.

The Red Deer would have it's attack intercepted by Koboling with it's horns gouging her Armored Tanuki shell but fortunately not being enough to break it due to the find carving of it, this would leave it open to another strike from Kobolala's Aqua Barb which would inflict even more damage to it's body. Koboling would interpose herself between the Red Deer and the Beta deciding that it would be smarter for her to act as defense while Kobolala used her greater offensive abilities due to possessing two barbs to her one.

Meanwhile Koborou would act as the vanguard parrying the Red Deer's charge with his Wolf Leader Jaw and leaving it open to getting slashed in the knee by Kobovon. The two of them would then switch with Kobovon blocking the Red Deer's back-kick with his Armored Tanuki shell so that it was left open for Kobovon to swing his Wolf Leader Jaw to blind one of it's eyes. The two would continue to circle it, knowing that they could use their shields to block what they couldn't dodge, while Kobovon could parry what he didn't want to block.

Taking her second with her Kobolala went on the full offensive, working with Koboling to shield bash the deer when it was reining back to attack, continually pushing it back. And each time Kobolala was taking her time finding just the spot for the two barbs she possessed to strike deep one at a time.

And Koborou and Kobovon worked in a tight sync pair. When one was on the defense the other was swinging their weapon aimed at their legs to cripple the creature. They had worked together so well before it was natural to have each other's back and keep the deer on it's toes.

Between the tandem attacks the Red Deer's health would slowly get whittled down, little bits at a time while Kobovon & Koborou would quickly make short work of the other one due to targeting it's other eye blinding it and the repeated slashes to it's knees crippling it. From there it was short work to deal with it while it was on the ground though Koborou would hold out a hand rather than having Kobovon rush over to assist Kobolala with the killing of the other Red Deer. The Red Deer was now sporting four slash marks, and was now fight in a bit of a rage considering it's mate had just been killed, this time when Kobling went to block it would push up with it's horns causing Koboling's Armored Tanuki Shell to be ripped from her hands and it would turn toward Kobolala before charging at her.

Using two barbs was strange but for Kobolala it was doing it's job well, she just needed more training in using them in tandem. Plenty of time, and could get some more practise in the den. The two on the remaining deer had to focus though, with the temporary loss of the shield, and the charging on Kobolala, the trusted one was thinking quickly. She was ready for it, she would keep to herself a part of it was wanting to show the group she was worthy of her ranking under their leader, and gave a cry of her Roar, hoping it might cause the Deer to falter and lessen the blow that she would take to the shoulder, bringing her twin barbs in on either side, aiming to get them to actually meet in the middle.

As the Red Deer charged, Koboling would position herself in such a way that it's charge would result in it tripping over her body and though she would sustain some injury doing so it made it so that Kobolala had an easier time striking it's body. Kobolala would notice that using two organic barbs at the same time was quite easy for her as she seemed naturally adept at picking up the dual wielding proficiency and her blows would cripple the Red Deer's forelimbs. From there it was just a manner of repeatedly striking the deer or just picking it up and heading home considering it couldn't run away now.
