Hunt (Bounty Thread)

Wanari was crouched down behind one of the huge rocks that were scattered along the trail that lead into Gekidogakure. The boy was just chilling there quietly while he waited for someone to walk across the path. Last time he went out hunting, he ended up getting attacked before he even spotted his target, and it ended up in a drawn out battle that was kind of annoying. Now that he thought about it, he was attacked in his first bounty hunt as well, but that fight was much easier than the most recent one. He was hoping this time around he would be able to get a sneak attack on one of the people passing by, that way he could finish it quickly and take the body back to the bounty office to get his reward. The boy listened carefully for the sound of footsteps as he waited for his prey. His newly acquired gear was on person, and he was ready to test out his new katana. It was in way better condition than the last, but he couldn't throw his old one away because it was his grandfather's. Because of that Wanari had just left it at the restaurant he was staying at.

The trail was travelled alot but due to the recent battle not even a day ago not many people were traveling along the route, about a hour would pass before a women and her child would come into view, the two walking and singing a tune as they moved. One could easily spot them as civillians. So the missing ninja would have to make a choice either stay here and keep waiting or find another hunting ground.

The boy had sat there for an hour in the sun waiting for a victim to slide into his territory. After the wait he was very excited to hear the footsteps come from the trail. The boy peeked his head out from behind the rock after the footsteps passed it just to be safe. Wanari then sighed when he saw a little girl and her mother passing through. The long haired boy sighed and went back behind the rock before adjusting his messy man bun, ultimately making it even more messy. He had been waiting for so long, but no one was coming by. He wondered what was wrong. The village usually had people going in and out all day. Someone would have to pass through. He decided in waiting it out a bit longer. He had nothing else to do after all. Not at the moment anyways.

Waiting was a good choice it seemed because after about 15 minutes a man would be heard walking with a clack from his shinobi sandals. And if the missing ninja looked he would see a young man clad in all black with two pouches on both sides of his waist. He walked rather casually and for the most part he had not noticed the young missing ninja hiding behind the rock. But he was scanning his head back and forth as he walked causing his hakagakure headband with a slash to shine in the light for a second each time he turned toward the right.

Not too long after choosing to wait around for his next prey, Wanari would hear the footsteps come from the right side of the trail. Wanari would wait for the man to pass the rock, just like the little family before, and then would peek his head out. The boy smirked before dashing towards the man who seemed to be a shinobi with his katana drawn at A-rank speeds. He would attempt to slash horizontally at the man's midsection with hopes of slicing him in half at A-rank speeds as well. "Dark Destruction!" He would yell out, his red eyes focused on his target.

The man was completely caught off guard and would be chopped down, before falling to the ground in shock and spitting blood from his mouth. He had never encountered such speed and it would be the fastest speed he would see in his life as he faded away to the after life without even seeing who had killed him.
