Hidden Kobold Style (Kobotia's Path)

Kobotia would set out followed by Koboling, Kobovon & Koborou and she would tell them where they were headed and promptly begin to sneak there after relaying instructions knowing that all of them were capable of sneak as well. "we are heading east, this is going to be a hard hunt due to the darkness but I'm sure we can handle it. Check for any non edible berries, like Koboren showed you back home" Kobotia said in a low voice as they quickly moved through the great forest. This would cause them to move in a sort of Y formation with Kobotia at the front, Koboling in the middle while Kobovon & Koborou were on either end. Kobotia would use observe to try and pick out anything in the bushes keeping watch as they searched for anything useful so that they wouldn't be ambushed.

It was certainly night time. The moon wasn't much help as the forest trees would block out most of the light anyway. Yet, still it was good to be back outside again so soon. No one likes being held up in the den, so any chance to get outside was a win. As instructed, all three would drop down low and begin searching around the area for inedible berries, but this was easier said than done given the dark. In the end, only Koborou managed to find something, bringing it back to Kobotia to show her. It was a berry he hadn't seen before, but it definitely didn't look safe to eat.

Hopefully she was happy with what they got, as the opportunity for them to search the area safely diminished. It was certainly a good bit of luck that Kobotia remained attentive, as just up ahead in a slight clearing were two Armored Tanuki, still unaware of the Koblods closing in. It's highly possible given their current awareness, that the Kobold crew could escape safely should they not wish to fight. But i mean...really?

Spoiler:

Kobotia would raise a organic barb clutching hand in order to get them to halt before pointing so that they could see the prey up ahead and then essentially trying to command Koborou and Kobovon to sneak around so that they could sneak attack the Armored Tanuki from both directions which would begin the moment they got to the opposite side. Both Kobovon & Koborou had hunted one before thus they would know that when the attack began not to aim for their armored shell but instead their vulnerable parts from their underside. Kobotia and Kobolala would wait remaining concealed until the last moment relying on the sudden attack from the other two in order to conceal their own attack resulting a two-prong attack which would hopefully overwhelm the Armored Tanuki before they even had a chance to arrive.

What a sight to behold. A well thought out and perfectly executed coordinated attack. It was a total bloodbath, with the compounding effect of sneaking up and attacking the vulnerable parts of each beast, they really stood no chance whatsoever. Both Kobovon & Koborou were successful in sneaking up close to the Armoured Tanuki and slicing up their underside. Soon after, the attacks from Kobotia and Koboling would come in shockingly swiftly as the Tanuki just began to comprehend their sudden danger, blinding their eyes and finishing the job at their throats for a swift and clean victory. The two Tanuki would drop to the floor and flatten out as their blood dribbled onto the ground below. Not only was it highly successful, but they also managed to keep the battle silent by cutting their throats early on, preventing other nearby monsters from hearing the call and waltzing over to hunt.

"Koboling carve it here, us three will form a triangle around her and keep watch in different directions from where she is facing. The blood will attract predators so prioritize getting the shell quickly" Kobotia commanded and would take the position facing the North while Kobovon would take East holding his Organic Barb in one hand while wielding his personal armor tanuki shield in the other, Koborou would take South with his organic barb being shifted to his tail while he weilded his Kama Mantis Claw in one hand and Koboling would be crouched down cover the two Armored Tanuki corpses but would be facing West. This would give them eyes on different places with their only blind spot being where Koboling was due to paying attention to what she was carving. However this was good because it meant all of them knew that was their blind spot and thus would be better prepared for something to take advantage of it. Just in case however Kobotia would use observe searching for movement as that way she'd be the first line of warning in case anything did happen. Once Koboling finished carving she would relay additional instructions knowing that Koboling would turn them on their back in order to carve so that their shells would prevent it from touching the forest ground.

Koboling would quickly get to work on carving up the two Tanuki, the first one one would have fail miserably if not for the barb, saving the shell from the poor technique, while the other would exceed exceptionally. Shame it's only a crappy monster to carve from. They tried to move as fast as possible, but it was too late. The night is a dangerous time, and it seems today they were just outright unlucky. From behind them was a slight shuffle as the king of the East emerged from the cover of the forest, sniffing out the battle. It was a mighty Black Wolf, larger than usual and twice as terrifying. It didn't take it long before it took off with teeth bared, aiming it's violent bite at Koborou's neck. For those who weren't particularly attentive, the wolf's fur would blend into the darkness for no reason other than simple world mechanics. Black is hard to see at night.

Black Wolf Leader:

Kobotia had positioned each of them where they were for a reason and the idea was to keep Koboling safe while she was vulnerable. Given that she was facing West it meant the back of her neck was facing east which was where Kobovon was. The whole point was to protect her so if their vigilance had failed well the sound of Kobolings whimper would ensure that it would pay for its attack. This was because the point of putting her in the middle was to allow them to converge on a target in their midst before it could get away and when surrounded on three sides dodging wasn't the easiest option.

"Wolf Ambush!" As the words spilled out of her mouth she was glad that she had the forethought for hunters to talk amongst themselves when they encountered new prey as she remembered killing a wolf that had pups and had told the res that they might run in packs and exactly how she killed her first one. This wouldn't be any different regardless of how bit it was.

Kobotia would be the first to react not even fully turning around before her attack commenced with the organic barb in her tail slashing at any part of the wolf it could get as she moved into a spin trying her best to carve out one of it's eyes with her right turn (due to being to the left of Koboling's position) with the organic barb in her right hand and then following up with a stab into the newly empty bloody socket if her attack found purchase.

Next would be Koborou who would initially swing his Kama scythe at the eye he could see using both hands and whether it connected or not would attempt to slide over to the freshly carved armor tanuki in order to lift up one of the shell's for his use. The third was Kobovon who would turn and using that force attempt to slash at the wolf's nose as if it had ended up biting Koboling's neck it would have her at a horizontal angle thus leaving it's nose which was at the end of the snout completely vulerable.

Finally there was Koboling who due to having finished carving would have most likely been in the process of straightening up and thus would probably see it at the last moment and who could only rely on turtling up while rolling backward to try and make sure what it did bite was her clothes and not her fur. The sequence of events would take place with Kobotia's multi-attack being spaced out by the other two with her actually being the first and last to land a hit.

The Black wolf leader understood clear as day that the initial attack of his wasn't exactly the best way to do things but it was confident in it speed and its ability to dodge almost all upcoming attacks was its breed and butter but over confidence was also a bad thing. The wolf would follow the upcoming attacks by shift its weight and lower its body first would be the one from kobotia, the wolf lowered its body to the right to just barely dodge the initial attack which in turn would make the second attack a scratch to him not damaging any vital areas.

The fact that their leader got the kobolds to turn their back to the wolves who had been circling round waiting for this moment would only mean it was time for them to attack, one of the beta wolves would appear from the direction kobovon had neglected to attack the leader only to preform a type of tackle which would require him to throw hits complete body into him. This would result in koborou being in the way for the final attack to the boss, which would instead hit his shoulder rather than the original target. one The other black wolf beat would charge at kobovon who'd plan to deal a great amount of damage to their leader but was soon interrupted by the bite of a beta wolf on his arm which would stop the him from producing that two handed attack he was planning on doing to the leader. this would allow for the black wolf leader to back up a bit to gain some distance between himself and the group of kobolds.

Kobotia would growl out pushing mana into their throat to try and trigger it on the black wolf Betas. "Focus on it's allies, grab the shields and make sure to block rather than dodge, if they break the shields it doesn't matter." Kobotia commanded the others, with Koboling and Koborou picking up the Armored Tanuki shells with their free hands, and taking stock of the situation. They would have to bring down the wolves so that their Alpha could take down the wolf leader, otherwise they would just get in each other's ways and make themselves more vulnerable. As such they would start to walk towards the two other wolves while Kobotia remained in the same place deliberately bending down and dipping her organic barbs so that they would be coated blood of the carved armored tanuki meat.

"Come on then! Alpha vs Alpha or are you too much of a coward that you have to hide behind your pack!" Kobotia shouted out glaring at the Black Wolf Leader with hatred, and would begin to walk towards him hoping that he'd take her open challenge to heart after all she was well versed with dominance displays, after all she too had her own pack. Would his pride as the leader of the wolves compel him to challenge her in such a way or was he truly nothing but a coward, either way her own pack would move into another formation with Koborou in the middle and Koboling to his right whereas Kobovon was on his left. It would be a bit of a stand off but they wanted to see what the wolves would do before going on the offensive again.

kobotia would try to growl at the wolves betas but that wouldn't exactly get the result she was hoping for, the betas completely ignored the kobold growl and continued to do what they were doing since it wasn't something she had knew how to do as of yet. Beta who bite kobovon would wait a few before charging at koboling who was the designated protector from this side and would make little sense to attack anyone else. the Leader would take kobotia up on her challenge to fight alpha to alpha and would look to his beta with the same confindnce that had gotten him cut earlier, but this time it was that he knew that he had no plans of focusing on only fighting her. he would charge at her to take a bite at her leg, at the same time the beta who pushed koborou into the attack of her teammate would instead combine sneak, natural weapons and bite to attack kobotia whose back should be turned toward it; which would cause it to aim for her right arm.

Kobotia would utilize observe and rather than dodge she would get the timing down for when the Wolf Leader tried to bite her leg and instead shove her hand into it's maw. She would willingly trade a strike with it knowing that her Horned Foal glove would sustain the damage that she would have taken whereas she could carve out it's tongue with the organic barb she clutched in said hand. Knowing that such a gambit would work seeing as she would use the fact that the wolf leader would be biting her hand to attack him at the same time she would follow up with the rest of her multi-attack namely stabbing into it's eye and rolling her body so that she could get on top of it's head and slash it's back with the organic barb in her tail. Which would in essence put her out of harms way of it's Beta's sneak attack unless it wanted to to attack it's own wolf leader, she saw how it was fond of using her pack against her, so even though she wouldn't plan for that she would delight in doing the same to it.

Meanwhile Koboling would follow instructions and would raise the shield in order to try and block it's attack, while Kobovon would do the same both of them raising their shields to essentially temporarily halt it in place by pushing up it's head and obscure it's vision long enough for Koborou to, using his Kama Mantis Scythe, sneakily attempt to slice open it's neck. All three of them were wary of overcommitting and thus rather than Koboling or Kobovon pressing the attack they would keep their eyes open dodge forward to protect Koborou if need be as they knew he was more hurt than they were. As for Koborou he was just hoping it worked though he knew worst case scenario he could use the shield to protect himself if need be.

Being that everything wasn't going as planned for the black wolf Leader, which made it difficult for them to ensure a victory. With the leader and one of its beta's barely coming in close enough to hurt each other, they would soon find out they were fighting against monsters who weren't at the daily average. they would find out that the these kobold had killed the other beat and would be at a different type of disadvantage when faced against this monster, the alpha would send the remain beta at kobotia to bite at her head with its natural weapons. the leader would follow behind her to bite at kobotia's other arm, well iit'd be a little useless if kobotia didn't have a helmet on her head or tried to dodge the attack which would leave her open for an attack from the alpha.

"You cowardly pup!" Kobotia was in her element, she didn't know how the Black Wolf Leader had survived her previous strikes, but she didn't sweat it making sure to keep it in her sight at all times as it was her primary prey. [color=lavander] When the first black wolf came in to bite her head she would let it slipping out of her helmet in order to free herself up which would allow her to observe the Black Wolf Leader trying to bite at her right arm, while she lashed her tail to slice at the Beta as a parting shot to start off her multi-attack. Well if he wanted her arm she would oblige him by twisting so that she could shove her hand into his open mouth and repeat what she tried earlier, assuming she hadn't been successful in carving out it's tongue the first time and follow up by trying to slash it's eye, or it's remaining eye if she had managed to blind it the first time.

Koboling, Kobovon and Koborou would manage to kill one of the Black Wolf Beta's and such they would be free to try and intercept the other beta who was attempting to target their alpha. The three of them would sneak up to it and Koborou would be the first to attack aiming it it's asshole seeing as they would be behind it. He would try to slice it from it's rectum to it's belly whereas Kobovon and Koboling would come from the sides and use their shields to try and pin it in place between their incoming bodies so that he could get another slash off to widen the injury.

Spoiler:

The alpha and beta seem inseparable, until the alpha notice that this was something he wasn't winning. his eyes glanced toward the beta and let out a howl, at first it seemed that the beta didn't want to move but the alpha let out another howl before the beta took off into the forest. unless the kobold hunting cell had an advance varient of tracking, they wouldn't be able to find the beta.

Kobotia's and party's minds would fade to black leaving them to collapse on the floor during their well need rest, Kobotia's black screen would have word appear on them. The language wasn't something monsters could've seen in the forest, but it was if she knew every word "Congratulations on defeating the Black Wolf Leader, Requirement meet, defeat an apex predator."

When her and the hunting party woke from their slumber, it was bright the sound of monsters chirping in the sky would be a clear indicator of how earlier it was. the hunting party was only giving one choice at this time, to head back to the cave and discuss what happened to them the night before.

Kobotia would wake up with the familiar black screen appearing before her causing her to chuckle with exuberance before the screen gave her another shock in that her level had increased so drastically she felt a surge in strength that she hadn't previously and would look to see that all of their gains from the previous night were still here. "Let's gather what we have here and head home we have much meat to share with the pack." Kobotia said as she felt if she used command it would be a bit overkill as she could innately detect that it had reached it's maximum. She would endeavor to perfect her other skills soon and would walk over to the Black Wolf Leader before dragging the corpse back home with the other three Kobold's stowing away their organic barbs back in their tails before gathering up the Armored Tanuki Meat onto their new shields while Koborou dragged the Black Wolf Beta.

the silence of the forest would echo to kobotia as she used sneak to go east, returning to the direction where her last fight left the east forest for anyone to rule. yet none of the monster could complain as little and few of them would be able to deal the fury that came with the price of ruling these parts of the forest. however, few groups wanted nothing to do with a power struggling forest as they preferred to rest against the tree trunks as they believed it helped protect them from those who wondered about looking for a meal. kobotia would see the two cuddly armored tanuki yet it was up to her to make them slumber last for an eternity or not.

Spoiler:

Kobotia would make sure to choose her target and would creep up to them before using multi-attack in order to impale both of them in the eye socket with an organic barb each before spinning around in order to slash the one on the left in the nose with the remaining organic barb. She would then try to slide to the right so that she could get around the remaining one when it woke up startled so that she wasn't in it's field of vision seeing as she would have stabbed out the eye that it would of seen her with. [I]"I wonder if I can use these to attract more things, I think it's possible to get a good amount of meat this way assuming I'm careful" she thought to herself remembering how last time they had killed something in order to attract a predator. She felt that she needed to push herself in order to ignore the building feeling in her loins and sometimes hunting things just might do that.

the two armored tanuki would be able to enjoy their eternal slumber as the darkness they dreamt of at night would only return to more darkness or well for them a very shallow light that lead them down the end of the road. kobotia return to the shadows was swift, well swift enough to not get noticed by the incoming group of black wolves, neither of them were a leader or members of a pack they were omegas. they roamed where they wanted and how they wanted, yet the smell of fresh meat excited their stomachs leading them to the death of the armor tanukis both would remain low, but one of them would sniff their way to the meat and take a bite out of the food.

kobotia:

Kobotia would carve both of them, leaving the shells on the bottom so that the meat wouldn't touch the ground, before moving away and hiding in the bushes using sneak to conceal her presence as she hoped that she would catch something by leaving the bait here. She thought about how she wanted to hunt this time as she knew she needed to develop her other skills but truthfully she was looking for something that she could learn on her own. Perhaps she could try climbing a tree or something and learn a new method of attack, namely doing so from above.

Spoiler:

Kobotia would hide in the bushes for minutes which would feel like hours of silence, the sound of the smaller less relevant bugs marching to hurry home. the song those bugs made would be interrupted by the sound of tree branches which laid on the ground breaking due to the weight on them, the only thing which was properly seen was the small scaly figure the monster possessed and the fact it walked on two feet. he slowly knelt down to the ground in front of the food, he took a bit of the meat into his hands then looked around as he didn't really believe in the gods and its not likely for food to be left for someone unless it was a trap; but due to the power struggle from the death of the black wolf leader dying.

Kobotia would look at the new arrival before her libido would spike as she recognized that this particular monster was something like her but not. Still her blood boiled with lust as she Observed him before she decided to make her move. She would sneak up to him before lashing out with multi-attack aiming to carve the tendons in both of his heels that way he wouldn't be able to run away before she would turn to get some distance while using her tail to slash at his back in the process to complete her multi-attack. "I'm going to take you with me, don't worry I won't eat you, I want a different type of food." she said holding back on purpose so as not to kill him though not necessarily knowing how much punishment he could sustain before being knocked unconscious which was the whole reason to observe him in the first place. She didn't know if he could understand her but she was sure if he could then her words would be enough to unsettle him after the sudden brutal attack.

the lizardkin was taken by surprise from the bombardment of the kobold, the only thing he could really remember was falling to his back and then the words the kobold sprouted. whatever was going to happen to him he hoped to one day manage to get his revenge one the kobold.

Kobotia would smirk before reaching down and slinging the Lizardkin across her back while crouching down to pick up the Armored Tanuki meat she had carved and placed on top of it's shell as the whole point of placing it on top was for an easy retrieval. She would then proceed to make her way home, trying her best to sneak with this particular load, it wouldn't be easy but she figured if anything tried to attack her she had a surefire way to lock it in place, that was exactly why she hadn't bothered to use magic throughout her hunts.

Koboshiv quickly made his way out in front of the hunting group. He was the sneakiest of them and the only one that was crazy enough to get down and dirty to camouflage himself. He hummed quietly and scanned around, leaving a few cuts in trees or in the ground to guide the team behind him. Today there was only slaughter on the mind, slaughter of dangerous creatures. He grinned as he headed north, guiding the rest of the team behind him. He knew already about East and South, this was the next place to test and see if the creatures here were actually dangerous enough to care about.

He knew the team would be following behind him and Kobotia was with them, they were a good team, strong. He knew there was nothing out here that could stop them and the thought flared up the bloodlust in his heart, it was a good flame though and he happily stoked it.

Spoiler:

Kobotia would notice Koboshiv sneaking ahead with his camouflaged fur, more so due to his movements being clear to her now as she could dissect exactly how he was able to be so stealthy it was weird looking at something and knowing what parts to target to get the most use out of it, but then again it was also something that she found useful. She would motion for them to follow while sneaking and the four of them would fan out in a modified triangle formation, Kobotia in the first trying to be the lookout while Koboalpha was on the right, Kobosnek to the left and Kobodirk in the back bringing up the rear. "Hopefully we'll run into something interesting, or maybe some more captives we can use all the potential Omegas we can get, our pack is much smaller ever since before I took over." Kobotia thought to herself with a frown as it was something she worried about but there was nothing she could do about that really and would just have to deal with it by putting in more effort to raise their numbers. She briefly thought to Zardzeke and how she might be able to turn him over to their side with repeated encounters, that would be quite interesting that's for sure as he would be a Zeta if he eventually saw his capture as something beneficial.
