Hidden Kobold Style (Kobotia's Path)

Kobotia's eye would narrow at the sight she saw before her quickly glancing towards Koboalpha and suggesting that they split up for now and making a signal so that when it passed in between them they would attack it. She recognized that this monster seemed to be of their lineage but she didn't think negotiation would be the smart thing to do, perhaps after they attacked it and it showed signs of not having gone feral things could change but for now their best bet was to ambush it and hopefully that'll give them an edge in fighting it. "One thing is for sure, we can not let it get back to the Den." she thought to herself as her organic barb would emerge from her tail while her other hands held her claimed ones. She would use observe to pick out Koboalpha's hiding form and saw that he also was readying his weapon, though he was a lot more eager to prove his strength over this particular monster. More specifically he wondered how it's flesh would taste like, as unlike the rest he had stuck to a purely meat diet gladly cannibalizing the Kobolds from last night. It wasn't so much of a preference as he like meat in general just when it came to eating Kobold not a lot of their pack still did it so it gave him more opportunities to eat undisturbed.

Either way if they were still undetected when the Gnoll passed by their ambush would be sprung with Kobotia lashing out by targeting it's left eye and nose before twisting away so that her final organic barb could stab it's mid section. Koboalpha on the other hand would swing his Kama Scythe at it's right knee while ramming his body into it banking on the fact that it hopefully would be reeling from Kobotia's opener to allow him to damage it's ability to run away. If it was successful it would mean it's knee would be damaged and that would most likely cause it to be knocked off balance by the tackle.

the gnoll casual strolled through the bushes following the trail of blood left by the kobo hunting group from earlier, or so he though it would be. Once he made it through the bushes his left eye and nose were attacked by an organic orb, this caused him to place both of his arm in front of his face to protect the othe eye; which left his mid section exposed for the third attack. due to the series of attacks from kobotia he leapt tot the left tot avoid her returning for the right eye, luckily for him this would only cause the tip of the scythe to on scratch his right leg rather taking it off as a whole. However that still left him vulnerable to the tackle from koboalpha.

since no one was there to ensure he stayed on the ground he used the momentum from being knocked down on to the ground and the force from koboalpha's tackle to roll on the ground then returned to all fours to stop the force of being knocked back. he would then keep his distance from kobotia even if she look mildly delicious, his right eye shifted to koboalpha, then he reached at his tail and grabbed an organic orb in his right hand before charging at koboalpha he planned to return the cut to his leg by cutting his leg as well. he would remain low and charge at koboalpha to use his organic orb on his right leg, after potentially dealing the damage to his right leg he would use his left foot to kick him in the chest.

Kobotia would bare her fangs crouching lower as she observed the way the Gnoll had rolled in order to offset Koboalpha tackling it, and how his posture shifted in order to avoid baring it's remaining eye towards her. Meanwhile Koboalpha would bare his fangs in response to the Gnoll looking at him as if he were the easier prey, he wasn't a pushover nor was he a punk and as he was charged at so would he charge at the Gnoll while placing the Kama Scythe in front of him so that his vitals were covered during the impact. "Reckless!" Kobotia yelled out charging as well seeking an opening from the clash in order to finish it, it wasn't that she didn't trust Koboalpha she just didn't want him to get killed. Hopefully she wouldn't have to deal with that outcome and she would move so that when the two of them collided with one another she could interject herself in the melee, stabbing at the Gnoll's midsection.

the gnoll glared severily at koboalpha, due to him being the easiest meal to replenish his energy with before going against kobotia. Since the young foolish alpha male charged at him he did the same; foolish move as he never completely located exactly where kobotia was, while charging at koboalpha he lowered his posture to be able to go under the scythe luckily for him he wasn't able to complete avoid the scythe as it scrapped part of his head. It was more than alright since it wasn't enough to kill him, he simple reply by balling his fist up and punch alpha in the stomach. well, it was obviously the last thing he did since he later realized where the mystery kobolt was. the gnoll slowly dropped over with the last of its strength to take its final breathe.

Kobotia would frown at Koboalpha for his reckless actions before sighing and looking at him before gesturing at the Gnoll. "Pick it up and let's head home, quietly just like before, we have mouths to feed." she said deciding to punish his recklessness by making him carry their recently hunted quarry back with them. They'd eventually get back to the Den and hopefully this time their haul would be enough when factoring the others for everyone to have a good meal.

-----Day 4-----

Kobotia would emerge from the Kobold Den with a purpose, and would look at her followers before nodding before speaking up. "Alright Kobosnek you have just a new weapon as has Koboalpha, the first thing I want you to do is practice using them, so you see that bush over there I want you to try and cut it down and learn how to properly swing your new weapon. Koboalpha I want you to teach Kobodirk that tackle skill of yours, maybe he could learn it and get used to tackling people with his new helmet." she commanded the three of them while she would observe them to make sure they were doing it properly. This way they could train a bit before going to the north of the great forest as it was important to get used to using certain weapons before using them in combat. During this she remembered about the Lesser Water Stone and thought about how it felt like she could gain a unique skill by eating it yet she didn't understand why that was. Perhaps by observing herself she could notice more about herself as she knew that there was more to her than what she saw with her eyes.

It was time for Koboshiv to learn how to be a proper help to the Kobolds! They all had to band together after all, with help taken, help had to be given. These words echoed through Shiv's head as he moved out into the wide open world, taking a deep breath to calm the terror that ran through him. Although there were monsters out here, he had faith in his own abilities and faith in running away that he knew he would be able to survive. Thus he immediately set about grabbing some dirt and leaves, covering himself up to get some practice with his new trick. With that done he crouched low and quietly moved off to follow Kobotia and the rest of her hunting group, making sure to watch where he stepped so he didn't stand on any twigs or make any noises. He kept his tail close to his body during this so he could grab his barb if he had to but hopefully nothing would spot him quite yet.

It was quite amazing the tenacity kobosnek had when it came to listening to kobotia commands, despite not knowing exactly how to use his new weapon he would swing it around wildly not knowing exactly what was right or wrong until the threat of the bush was completely neutralized. well, others, namely kobodirk had a difficult time as everytime he'd try to tackle the tree he'd hit his head against it, which gave him a better understanding of how to tackle and a headache. it was obvious that the lesser spirit stone and her had something in common she could almost feel it, the same thing in her body which was also in the stone, yet it wasn't blood or brains. The feeling was more on a spiritual level.

Koboshiv would watch as the kobolt would repeated lunge his head into the tree, despite the fact that it could've been funny it was up to koboshiv to know if he could hold himself from laughing at a time like this. well whatever it was he did it was difficult for him to process the information that was going on in front of him, so he decide to stop before he actually hurt himself.

Kobotia would decide to cut their little training session off and hold clear her throat so as to get everyone's attention. "Alright well that's the best we can do for now. We're heading north, it's more dangerous than where we've been before I'm sure of it, so you know the plan we move in triangle formation and keep it quiet don't want to get caught by something foul." Kobotia said and she would scan the area briefly with observe to get a sense for their directions before moving to the north. Once more she was in front, whereas Koboalpha would be to the left, Kobosnek to the right and Kobodirk would be in the middle as he still was the weakest out of the four of them.

To the north? Truly interesting, perhaps he'd finally get his first taste of blood. Koboshiv checked over his own body for a few moments to ensure that his camouflage was firmly in place which would hopefully make him harder to notice before he started to follow behind them. This was really good sneaking practice and watching other kobolds that were skilled in it do so helped him to improve his own footing and steps. He made sure to keep watch for enemies though, as it wouldn't do to get attacked out of nowhere but he wasn't exactly able to observe like others just yet. He brought his tail under his body and held it close to his stomach, ready to grab his barb at any moment. Being outside was scary but knowing that he had allies ahead helped keep his fear levels down for the moment.

As kobotia's group headed north, they found a lone horned foal relaxing away without any worry of monsters out to get it. the horned foal would continue to eat grass without paying much attention to what's around it. In the nearby bushes, there waited another group who wanted a piece of the foal meat. they sneak and waited for the perfect opportunity to rush the foal, but it was in am open space surround by bushes and trees. The leader of the stamp shoat would wait anxiously before ordering his group to charge at the foal, the other two charged at the foal before the leader did the same.

Being that the horned foal hadn't know they were coming at him, he wouldn't be able to dodge the first two but the leader would simple get jumped over.

Kobotia would look at the seen before her using observe to analyze them so that she could prepare a strategy to bring them down, however she did note that it would be smarter to let them bleed each other a bit before engaging and she would look at Kobosnek and Koboalpha before pointing to the bushes near them and making a gesture. She was trying to tell them to quietly cut the bushes near the base that way if they were successful they could have mobile cover and then use that to sneak closer to the battle while pretending to be apart of the scenery. Meanwhile she would instruct Kobodirk to sneak around to find a better position and hopefully something to throw if possible that way they didn't all come from one direction when the ambush did begin.

She knew the Horned Foal was the greater prize as she had never seen anything like it, though those Stamp Shoat were also something she had never seen before either but they weren't as visually impressive as the foal. The beginning of a plan was starting to form in her head and if she was successful she pictured them each slowly sneaking closer while concealed behind the bushes they had cut down then when the opportunity presents itself Kobodirk would throw his projectile to further distract them maybe even by hitting one of them while she would spring her trap to ambush them, but how that would go would remain to be seen. Perhaps she could even use her new insight into her body when they were ready to attack.

"This will be a glorious hunt.

Koboshiv was completely enraptured by what was happening in the clearing. There was a fight going on now and it looked like the Kobold team was waiting for both of them to be weakened before attacking. That seemed to make sense although he had no idea why Kobotia was pointing at bushes, were they going to use them as a distraction for the creatures that were fighting? He wasn't sure but he crawled around the edge of the clearing, making sure to stay as quiet as possible and occasionally plucking leaves or twigs to cover himself with to enhance his camouflage. He was going to strike when the Hunting Group did and he'd do it from the other side! Surely a two point attack would be far greater than a one point, even if he was the only one attacking from this side. In preparation he reached under his body and withdrew his barb, holding it in his teeth for now as he laid low and waited to see what would happen next.

The horned foal would look around for any sign of help once he realized he ventured too far from the horde he would try something that the men of the horned horse would do every so twice every year. he began to circle around the stamp shoats as he tried to circle around them to confuse them, after a few seconds of running around them he would decided to dash north as fast as possible, luckily he was able to avoid fall at the speed he took off from. The stamp shoats had a look of disappointment as their meal had ran away from them, only if they had took a bit of him or something then at least one of their bellies would be full.

Kobotia could not afford such a thing to happen and when she noticed that the Horned Foal was beginning to circle she immediately thought screw the plan and would run forward when it was closer to where they were hiding and let out the scariest growl she could while trying to focus that strange flowing energy in her body into her throat to try and hopefully empower the sounds she was making. GRAAAAH!" Kobotia really threw herself into it and hopefully it would be enough to startle the Horned Foal and thus prevent it from leaving which would allow her to try and pounce on it. She had seen how it merely jumped in order to avoid the Stamp Stoat's attacks and thus would make sure to try and stab into it's neck and back while using her legs to remain on it's back in case it tried to throw her off. Still all of this was banking on her stalling tactic being effective but all of the Kobold's recognized that the superior meal was the Horned Foal due to it's size.

If the Growl didn't work Kobodirk would sneak out from cover to try and ambush the nearest Stamp Stoat by charging at it and trying to impale it in the side of the head, at the base of it's ear specifically, with the horn of his new helmet. If it wa successful that would give him the opportunity to stab into the newly open wound with the Organic Barb in his right hand while using the other hand to position himself so that he could remain at it's side and thus put it in-between a potential counter-attack from it's allies. He knew his alpha was counting on him and he honestly wished he would be able to see her fight against the Horned Foal knowing she would look extra intimidating due to the skin of the Gnoll she wore as a covering.

Regardless if the Growl didn't work, Koboalpha and Kobosnek would quit trying to cut down bushes when their alpha rushed forward and would realize that every monster's attention would probably be on her making sure to take a short detour in order to ambush from the left and right respectively. Their primary targets were the Stamp Stoat's with Koboalpha going for the leader while swinging his Kama Mantis Claw with both hands at it's snout while Kobosnek would go for one of the others trying to use his sickle mantis claw to slice at the knees of the one he was targeting while wielding his Organic Barb in his other hand and would rely on it to try and deter a counter-attack from it.

It would appear that the lone animal of the two groups had attempted to run away and was moving in Koboshiv's direction. Deep down he had a feeling that he wanted to push something up his snout and declare that everything was according to plan but he had no idea why someone would put something on their snout, it'd just get in the way. Now he didn't realise that Kobotia was trying to stop the creature from running away but that was a good thing anyway and thus, whether or not the Horned Foal was spooked, Koboshiv struck.

Bursting out of the undergrowth, likely to the surprise of the Kobolds as well as the animals that were fighting, he leaped towards the Horned Foal and attempted to latch onto it using his mouth so he could keep a good grip, focusing really hard to try and make sure he was able to do so. If that was successful he'd then wrap his legs around the Foal and repeatedly stab it in the neck/shoulder region with his barb to try and kill it as quickly as possible. It wasn't going to be a clean kill but if luck was with him this day, it'd be a kill nonetheless! Besides, a little bit of blood didn't hurt anyone... Unless they were being tracked... He'd probably need to wash and reapply his camouflage after this... Dang it.

kobotia initial attempt to scare the horned foil from running away would fail, granting it an even bigger window to charge north. She attempted to jump on the back of the foil but would instead be meet to the face with its two hind legs kicking her in the face and sending her a several feet backward where a nearby tree would break her fall, then the horned foil would begin to take off north where it would began to move towards an escape but would buckle from the damaged it sustain from those damn fake pigs.

the stoat Stoats were instead of being spocked by her they were Enfuriated that this bigoted kobolt would try to steal its food, luckily for kobotia, kobodirk was able to stab one of the stoat in their ear with his helmet. The stoat would try to roll to its right side to break the helmet and potentially hold kobodirk down with its body weight, The other two stoat would launch themselves forward the alpha forward toward the kobotia and the other at the foil; which made the two other kobolts miss by just inches, meaning they were no longer hidden by sneak.

due to the foal falling he didn't making it far, which was a shocker as koboshiv was prepared to try something new but due to him being fairly new kobolt, he would instead stay hidden with sneak.

Kobotia would be kicked in the face and would hit a tree before sliding down in and landing on the ground, she would lay there for a moment before getting up and spitting out some blood and baring her bloody mouth before noticing her pack's sneak attacks had missing and would start to get angry as a low growl built up in her throat. "Koboalpha, Kobosnek help out Kobodirk and when you kill it attack another fat meat all together. The tall one is mine!" she growled out before running forward and noticing one of the Stamp Stoat's charging at her causing her to build mana into her throat again before letting out another growl trying to channel her anger into it. If it was successful then she would completely ignore it and continue onward to the Horned Foal as she had a bone to pick with it and would try to make sure that she approached to attack it from the opposite side of the Stamp Stoat "leader" so as to form a pincer attack with her other enemy. This time if it reared back to kick her she would dodge in a way to catch the blow with her body rather than her face and try to stab into the foal's ankles the moment they hit her relying on Observe to get the timing right.

If it wasn't successful however she wouldn't even bother trying to dodge but instead would charge at the Stamp Stoat and stab furiously at it, targeting it's eyes and holding onto it through a combination of her feet and her tail stabbing it's organic barb into it's snout. She would cling to it in such a manner that would allow her to repeatedly stab it if it got the bright idea to slam it into something. She could take this chance due to her Gnoll Cloak as she didn't even feel the impact from the tree even though her outfit was now slightly damaged so she knew she could take whatever damage this Stamp Stoat could dish so long as she angled herself enough to let her cloak insulate the damage. It was a pity she didn't have a helmet but that was why she would brace herself so that it would hit her covered shoulders & back instead of her head. This would result in her essentially rolling with the impact before stabbing downward into it's eye sockets if she was able to observe the timing right.

While their alpha was going about that Koboalpha and Kobosnek would change their course in order to help Kobodirk who was currently in a tussle with another Stamp Stoat. Rather than disentangle he would use their close proximity to stab into the wound he had inflicted with his horned rabbit helmet. This way it would hurt it and it would allow him to deal some extra damage when it rolled due to the stab wound being wider allowing him to move his head and thus rip the helmet's horn out of the wound while it rolled on top of him. Kobosnek and Koboalpha would use that opportunity to sneak up to it before attacking in quick succession with Koboalpha swinging his Kama Mantis Claw at it's backlegs while Kobosnek swung to try and slash open it's belly and then stab into the open wound.

With the creature having fallen halfway towards him, Koboshiv had decided that being hidden was better, at least until he noticed that it was still alive and had attacked Kobotia! Such offence would not stand while he was lying there hidden! It was time to get bloody. This time he moved quietly over to the downed Foal as it hadn't seen him yet. Once he was close enough he'd spend a moment to get his eye in, aiming as best he could towards the creature's eye before he let out a breathe and stabbed down, aiming to get the cleanest kill shot that he could against the Foal. He knew that the head was important, they'd taught him to protect that bit most so it made sense that by focusing and targeting that specific area, he'd be able to inflict even more damage.

Right now he was so focused on getting this kill he hadn't even heard Kobotia telling the others to leave this one to her. Then again, he wasn't part of the group was he so did the command really count to him? Koboshiv decided that it didn't.

it was quite amazing from the eyes of the spectator they would laugh a big as the stamp pig had rolled over on the kobold but to a more serous approach to the show as they watch the same kobold stab the stoat several times before receiving help from other kobolds. they would pause for a moment before continuing to laugh at the show, they notice the one kobold girl whose name they had to check the list before for continuing to watch. Kobotia, right. she would leap in, in an attempt to dodge the stamp stout as her attempt to scare it failed, she would deal more than enough damage but wouldn't be able to kill it before it charge toward the tree the foal had kick her into. he wanted to drag her into the tree with hopes that she'd let go of the barbs she was stabbing him with or at least let go of him.

Koboshiv even though those around him thought he was young, the gods still watched eagerly as he could be deemed as one of the special ones. It was proven that even though he wasn't use to throwing things he was still decently accurate, as instead of hitting a vital organ he'd be able to kill the foal with his organic barb without aiming for vital spots. The foal would drop to the ground lifelessly, all the group had to worry about were the two stoats left about.

Kobotia was really annoyed, but at the same time her anger was fading away as she would be hit against the tree but rather than let go she would stab into the Stamp Stoats bloody eye sockets and snout twisting her arms in order to deal the maximum amount of damage. Her cloak would protect her from taking too much damage anyways even though due to this hunt it would be damaged. Hopefully that would be enough to deal with the Stamp Stoat assaulting her. As for the other Kobolds, they took their prey out quickly and both of them would help Kobodirk from underneath the Stamp Stoat corpse before move as a group to deal with the next one which was the "leader". Koboalpha would be the one to go first rushing forward and swinging with both hands aiming at the Stoat's snout, he would be followed by Kobodirk who would charge forward before aiming a tackle at it's ear just like he had done with it's ally. Last would be Kobosnek who would circle around trying to sneak during the chaos so that he could attack it from behind and try and slash into it's spine before stabbing at the open wound with the Organic Barb in his free hand.

"Hey you there, you keep what you kill!" Kobotia said due to using observe during the trip towards the tree and wanting to congratulate Koboshiv in her own way. It was true however, whatever carve gotten from the Horned Foal would go to him, but the meat would be shared with the pack as how all food was dealt with.

Koboshiv moved forwards, still under the cover of his camouflage, even still he hadn't been noticed and that was good, it meant he was finally getting really good at this sneaking thing! He pulled his barb out of the Foal and held it in both hands as he moved up behind the Stoat, keeping a couple of steps away. He took a deep breath and focused on the Stoat really hard, looking for wounds or openings or any particularly vital areas that would be best attacked. He then rolled his shoulders and once more surged forwards, this time holding his barb in both hands so he could try and land a heavy blow on the Stoat, hopefully looking for vital points would give him a perfect location to strike for maximum damage. Either way, this was likely to be the last time that he was able to sneak from the Hunting Group but surely following them this far and even helping out with killing the creatures would endear him towards them! The idea of being praised almost made his tail wag but he forced that impulse down.

He had even been noticed by Kobotia and that made him happy, he was going to get a reward out of this and share the food. Maybe he'd even get to show off to Kobodett to show that training Shiv was a good idea! Everything was coming up Koboshiv.

kobotia was as interesting as ever as she took a hit from the tree but used the coat to cover herself, it was next to brilliance, she then followed this up by taking down the stoat alpha. the kobold hunter would slash away at the full reserve of health the other stoat had but it would stand tall, well until it feel to the hand of the youngest kobo. this allowed the group time to regin their stamina and decided what they wanted to do.

Kobotia would let out a breath finally able to escape from being pinned between her prey and the tree and would sigh before grabbing onto the Stamp Stoat, she had been fighting, before speaking a command to the others. "Kobosnek, Kobodirk grab one of the Stamp Stoat corpses, Koboalpha help that Kobo carry the Horned Foal and let's all head home. You know the drill we keep it quiet don't want anything to try and steal our hard earned meals. Kobotia said and was looking forward to washing her fur when she got back to the Den. Her anger had since faded and she was more interested in feasting and then figuring out this strange energy she knew was present within her. She hoped the foragers and diggers had made progress since she went out but she figured she would end up seeing what they did when she got back home anyways.

Koboshiv done his best to pick up the Horned Foal but he wasn't exactly the strongest, thankfully another Kobold came over to help him. He gave a happy nod towards them and then moved as quietly as he could alongside this Kobold in order to head home. He had done well today, at least he thought so, and he had helped bring in food for the rest of the Kobolds. Not only that but he was pretty sure he'd gotten a little better at stabbing things which was always a good thing. Maybe he'd be able to show Kobodett how best to stab things and where to stab. That would be enough for her trying to teach him to dig right? Either way, it was time to head home.
