STG - Denkou Ancestral Grounds {Yin Trial} (Hiroshima & Stohana)

As all of the members of the Yin Team stepped through the doors they would find themselves separated bar two who would have no recollection of falling asleep. Due to this while their injuries were not healed their reserves were fully replenished and they would find themselves within a maze with the only sources of light being the electricity running through the walls. This made them dangerous yet, it was bright enough to see which is why they would notice the path all around them, namely the fact that they were in a dead end while there was a single path before them as far as they could see at the moment.

"Good, for all of you who have made it this far you have shown your skills in different areas, however now we shall be getting rid of those who are not worthy to continue. Only 4 will make it, and each of you will notice that you each have a badge with a picture on it, each of a type of Denkou Weaponry. For matching badges you will receive 3 points, for any other badges you will receive 1 point and you will have 6 hours to get 5 points. The first four to get those five points will be able to leave this maze, all of those remaining however will be stuck here forever, do try to get those five points quickly if you value your freedom."

Puzzled as to why he had decided to take a quick nap on the floor of this random room, Hiroshima would pick himself from off the floor and took a quick look around. Besides the sleeping Stohana and the electricity running along the walls there wasn’t much in his surroundings, which meant that he had no choice but to follow the path that was before him, fun. Sighing he would wait for Stohana to wake up before activating his Raidengan and making his way down the path.

Stohana herself had no idea what even happened as she awoke with a start, "Jess that's enough pudd-!" She would suddenly blurt out from her regaining conciousness, looking around as she realised she was no longer dreaming, seeing only Hiroshima around, "... Erm... ignore that," she would mutter and stand herself up and taking in the new surroundings with a sigh. Most of all she would notice the electricity running along the walls, shuddering as she flexed her feathers around her body to get them stretched out.

If the two of them continued onward they would come across a fork in the middle of the maze with two pathways the first being left and the other being right. It would that they would have to make a choice otherwise they would be stuck here wasting time debating whether or not they should go which way or another. Then again they might not delay for too long and simply continue after all what was the worst that could happen, they could run into an opposing pair, or some other sort of conflict and possibly lose. It was as likely as it was them running out of time if they just decided to stay here until someone else stumbled on them instead. The lightning which served as light wouldn't illuminate any of the paths that they had to make a choice and they would find that as they walked about 10 or so feet behind them was now dark once more as the lightning seemed to follow them specifically rather than giving light to the entire corridor.

A soft sigh escaped his lips the moment they had arrived at the fork in the road. He was never good with decisions like these as they always ended up biting him in the ass but he had to make a decision fast as who knew what would happen if they took too long to leave this place. His red hues would shift from left to right as he struggled with to come up with a choice before saying screw all and choosing left. “I’m thinking left Hana but what do you think? If you think right will be a better decision then I’ll happily go along, I was never good with these sort of things.” Hiro stated as he looked over to Hana. Whatever her decision was he would make his way down that path hoping that they wouldn’t run into any ridiculous traps.

Hana hummed looking down both corridors as she was given the option of which way that they would go. Time was running out if they didn't want to get left behind. "I'll trust your instinct, let's go left," She stated, keeping her eyes open and focused upon the darkness so if any dangers came out of the shadows she could react quick enough to not be taken out like a little bitch. "We don't have much more to go on besides 'find the other half' and whilst we need to be a bit defensive over the ones we have ... yeah I'm not the kinda girl who can sit still,"

Upon the two of them heading to the left they would come across a circular room with a single occupant within it, said occupant would open it's eyes and let out a snarl as the Iodrome rose up from the ground and looked at the two of them with hunger. It had been kept here for what purpose it had no idea but it was ravenously hungry and yet..it did not die of starvation, whatever had captured it trapped it in such a state and now it finally had a chance of quelling said hunger. The flesh of these two would just have to suffice, and it would paw the ground eyes hungry yet wary before it lifted it's maw and let out a bellowing cry which would be met with silence for a brief moment before more calls answered back albeit from farther away.

So left it was. Taking the lead, Hiroshima would make his way down the corridor and would eventually end up in a circular room. Hiroshima would notice the Iodrome standing in the middle of the circular room, which was odd but then again the situation they were in was anything but normal. Not really caring why or how it ended up in there, Hiroshima would draw his blade and rushed towards the Iodrome at crashing ground speeds and swung his blade in an arc aiming to decapitate the beast. Judging by the other cries he had heard it seemed to be more of them lurking in the area. “This is a pain…” He muttered to himself as he examined the body of the Iodrome he had hopefully successfully decapitated and moved on to the next area.

Hana stopped dead as they saw the outline of whatever it was in the middle of the room, right away igniting her Sol Fire to at the very least begin to generate some ash for techniques whilst also generating them some light with her fire. "Well, so much for the sneaky approach," She would speak out getting ready to fight too. She left him to deal with the initial target whilst she moved in, turning her eyes about looking for any sign of the further targets.

The Iodrome would see him approach and likewise rush to try and bite his head off at B-rank speeds however a flash of steel coated in electricity later and it was on the ground with it's head flying off in a different direction to where it was moving previously. It would drop to the ground dead while Stohana decided to keep her eyes out for the others which she was smart to do so seeing as there were eight of them in total, currently making their way to the two of them. Four would actually stop with the pouch at the underside of their mouths actually bulging before they launched massive spheres of plasma at Hiro and Stohana both moving at vacuum release speeds.

Two of them would actually be detonated before actually reaching them, but at different intervals hoping to catch both of them and promptly blind them so that the others could hit the two knights on target giving a big enough opening for the other four to charge them. Like the first the charging ones were moving at B-rank speeds and thus were slower than the approaching plasma.

Thanks to his visual prowess, he was able to pin point the location of the rest of the Iodromes lurking within the area and readied himself to take them out. Fortunately for him, their clever little tactic wouldn’t work out as they intended to as he was fully capable of blinking in time to avoid the sudden bright flash of light. Moving at samurai vaccum release speeds, he would leave an after image in the area he was standing in attempt to confuse the Iodrome’s charging his way. Once they had fallen for the trick, he would swoop in from the right at the same speeds as before and would attempt to do to all four as he had done the previous Iodrome, decapitate them in quick succession. He was hoping he would be able to finish these four off while Hana took out the other four.

"Always the eyes!" Stohana yelled once the balls of plasma were coming towards them, easily possessing the reaction speed she needed to shield her eyes and prevent the flash of light that would have otherwise blinded her. Once the flash was gone, Hana went on the move. "Let's dance~" She ignited her Monarch of Fire technique, feeling the boost of power coursing through her body, letting the plants beneath her feet cover where each step would go, carrying her towards the remaining four at S+ speeds in order to get into range where she can catch all four of them. "Time for a Lovely Blast!~" She collected the ash materia she had been generating and pulled it all together into the palms of her hand, before creating a force of chakra sending it sprawling out around the four. She would give them a second to be hit by the ash and potentially inhale it, before she formed the single hand seal that would detonate the entire area of ash and causing them all an A-rank of ash release damage.

Wildly different approaches to taking down the same targets as while Hiro was efficient and subtle letting the effects of his techniques showcase his skill Stohana was exuberant and seemingly made a game out of snuffing out the lives of four living beings. Either way they both got the job done and thanks to her ash explosion they would be able to make out two badges, one a cord and the other a kunai from the remains of the Iodromes. Clearly some other pair had been already made a snack as evident by the partially digested nova and human remains. Seeing as they had continued onward they would now have to once again make a choice as now the path forked, this time leading either to a drop or one could take a ladder to instead go above. Which they would choose would determine what they would face in the future just like how this one had lead them into conflict with creatures, who knew where the next choice would lead them.

Well, that was flashy. Hiroshima thought to himself as he watched Stohana take out the remaining Iodromes in the area. Thankfully, it was all over as quickly as it had started as they had no time to waste messing around with these creatures, he had a sword to collect and there was no way he would stumble here. “Well, must be our lucky day.” He stated as he noticed the badges that feel from the insides of the creatures, disgusting but hey they needed these things. Taking the cord badge, he would hand the kunai badge over to Stohana before making his way to the exit. Unfortunately for them, there was another fork in the road. “This place is starting to annoy me…” He muttered to himself before deciding to go up instead of down, hopefully, this would be the better choice.

Hana grinned as she looked back after her little ashy explosion, deactivating her Monarch ability as her body's natural regeneration took care of the damage it did to herself getting right back to full, whilst she would likewise keep her Sol Fire burning, expecting much more dangers ahead and wanting plenty of her ash to wield. She would let her partner take the lead in their direction this time, all whilst she looked over the bloody new coin with the weapon on the front, seeing it was a different design to the one she already had. "Hrm, guess that's not a matching pair yet," she would comment and rubbed the back of her head. Watching him ascending the ladders, she admittedly got a little lazy, instead making use of her lightened biology and stiff feathers to jump up instead of taking the ladder. When she hit the top and landed on her feet however she already took a ready pose, not wanting to let the top of the ladder be an ambush spot.

Seeing as Stohana got up to the top of the ladder before him she would see a pathway which ended in a dead end with a puzzle on it. However the puzzle was hard to make out at least until Hiro stepped up as well and it would become illuminated, though it was such that only one with special eyes would be able to see the puzzle in it's entirety. There were 6 different orbs each crackling with a different type of energy from what could be seen, one was electricity, the other magnetic forces, the next were also some form of electricity albeit two of them being invisible to the naked eye while the third was completely white and almost blinding in it's intensity, finally the last was purple and semi-solid despite clearly vibrating erratically. Above each of these orbs were another set arranged in a row with Kanji next to them also written in electricity which once again could not be seen with the naked eye.

Puzzle:

I wonder how Karliah is doing. Hiroshima thought to himself as he made his way up the ladder. It wasn’t that he doubted her abilities as a knight that was far from it. What he was worried about was the fact that she was probably stuck with that pink haired turd Zaku. Left uncheck the kid was a pretty destructive individual and he silently hoped that he wouldn’t drag the mother of his child down with him and if it came to it, he was perfectly fine with her leaving him to die down here, not like anyone would miss him anyways.

Arriving at the top, he would immediately notice the strange puzzle that was now before them. “Well, this seems rather interesting doesn’t it Hana?” He said out loud as he got a few feet closer to the puzzle. He was quite curious to see how exactly this actually worked but instead of messing around with something he knew nothing about he decided to wait a bit in hopes to gather some more information.

"It... does?" Hana answered once he was stood by her again. Nothing here made any sense. She rubbed the back of her head just trying to understand what she was seeing. "There's... I don't see anything here." She would admit, staying behind him as they examined this 'puzzle' that meant little to her. "... Hey wait, you've got some weird eye thing right? You're one of the people this is all for, so does it mean anything to you?"

With his dojutsu active he would see more of the puzzle that was previously not visible and likewise notice the spheres which may have appeared to have nothing in them to have Raiden's Lightning. Now underneath it he would see writing. "The mastery of Electricity is to understand it in all forms, Lightning, Magnet, Ghost Lightning, and the three forms of Raiden's Lightning. Each have a connection to each other, place them appropriately and you will gain passage, place them inappropriately and you will be reminded of what they c-." There was nothing else written though it was obvious that if he possessed more powerful eyes he probably would of been able to read more. Still it gave enough information he probably could figure out exactly what went where.

Puzzle:

Hiroshima couldn’t help but chuckle at the way Stohana described his dojutsu but it was obvious that he was the only one of the two that could see the true nature of the puzzle before them, well to an extent since there were some things he was still unable to make out. “It says the mastery of Electricity is to understand it in all forms, Lightning, Magnet, Ghost Lightning, and the three forms of Raiden's Lightning. Each has a connection to each other, place them appropriately and you will gain passage, place them inappropriately and you will be reminded of what they. It ends there but I’m assuming it’ll say something like being reminded of what they can do? I dunno. Either way, we have to arrange them in order, seems easy enough.” Hiroshima stated though he was unsure if he knew exactly what came before what. After all, he was an Isley first and a Denkou second. Before he gave it a go, however, he decided to see if he could read the rest.

"Yeah I tuned out at 'mastery of electricity' sorry," Hana answered him once he finished, noticing an odd look in his eyes as he was manipulating the dojutsu further it seemed. She knew enough though to know she shouldn't mess with anything at all. She held her hands up and stepped back, "Yup, all yours. I'm not touching anything. I might be a super healer, but damn if I'm gonna poke my butt in where it don't belong,"

Unfortunately for him it didn't seem to unveil anything new, maybe if he had completely mastered his Mashin Raidengan he might of obtained more insight but it would seem such things were not in the cards. Now he would have to solve the riddle to get through this area, or if he didn't want to risk it that much they could always just backtrack. Granted by solving this puzzle it was guaranteed to be some sort of reward, but whether that reward would bring them closer to their end goal had yet to be seen. Meanwhile in another section of the parts of the maze that they had traversed another pair were facing a similar puzzle, whether they would end up in the same room had yet to be determined but it would be interesting to see who would be the ones to solve it first.

Well, that didn’t work out as he planned. Hiroshima thought to himself before bringing his Raidengan back to its activation stage to conserve on chakra. He wasn’t sure on what exactly he needed to do here but he would have to take a wild guess since Stohana had no idea herself and was counting on him to figure it out, that and they needed to collect those badges so that they could escape the place. “Alright, here goes nothing.” He said out loud to psyche himself up before possibly losing his life.

Scanning over the puzzle one last time, he decided that he would arrange them in order of the weakest to the strongest. To do that he first needed to know which symbol represented what element, which was easy thanks to his Raidengan. With that said and done he would arrange them in the order he had hoped was correct and braced himself for whatever might happen be it good or bad.

Stohana stepped back to let Hiroshima work at what he obviously knew. Or at the very least he knew more than her just on being able to see alone. Shrugging her shoulders as she watched him work, she would step forwards and put her hand to his back. "... Just in case something isn't said. I can share my regeneration."

The doors would hum with electricity before clicking open as he had indeed successfully solved the puzzle, with that as they opened it would appear two badges would drop from inside the doors to land on the ground once they were fully opened. This time it was a Nodachi and a Chokuto. Bringing up their collective badges to four, yet with no matching pairs it was unfortunate but if they proceeded forward they would come across a pair who had just entered the room from another exit. They were dressed pretty similar both wearing specific garments and even though they were talking animatedly while they walked in that would cease upon seeing their opponents. One of them would actually seem to become enraged just at the sight of Hiroshima and Stohana, clutching at the chain around her neck and muttering something under her breath. Her partner on the other hand would instead place his hand on the hilt of his blade and assume a better stance as he stood to the right somewhat spaced away from his ally.
