| Waking up with a rhythm in your head was annoying enough, but what if one woke up with a rhythm vibrating the very world around them? That is what Priscilla had to deal with every time she opened her eyes for a new day. She looked up at the ceiling and took a deep breath, filling her lungs, letting the oxygen sit within her before she let it out. This land smelled of ash, what a bother. Who wanted to live in a land that smelled like this, who wanted to live in a place like this at all? It was so dreary and she just couldn't understand why someone tried to build a village in this place! Back onto topic. Normally people would be bothered by the music that surrounded Priscilla but she wasn't, not in the slightest, neither were her parents. Both of them were Ronin but they were just civilians, they were so proud of her for becoming a Knight though. With a soft yawn, Priscilla stretched herself out and then swung her legs out of bed, planting bare feet onto the wood. She scanned down over her nude form and smirked; cute as always. She got up, hair trailing out behind her body and she fluffed it a little with her fingers, looking around her room and trying to decide on what to do. Well she had been kind of slacking since she received her mark, she hadn't even found a mentor yet but maybe if she trained and maybe if she could show that she was actually useful, a Mentor would want her and she could fawn over them and they could teach her. Oh she did always want someone that she could call 'Senpai'. Prisc liked to imagine that sparkles appeared in her eyes as she got up onto one foot, cocking the other behind and and hugging herself tightly, swinging side to side for a moment. For that to happen however she needed food. Not even bothering with clothing, she wandered through to the kitchen where her mother and father were sitting, both dressed much like she was. She gave them a bright smile and a hug and kiss each as a good morning greeting but she could tell they were still trying to wake up. Toning her music down a bit to help them she received thankful smiles in return and a giggle left her lips. With that she threw on some toast for herself and started to make tea, humming along to her quiet tune as it made everything she touched vibrate slightly, that was always an issue. She frowned at the cups and held her finger to it, hearing it chitter and jangle as it wriggled across the counter. She chuckled and shook her head before taking it back. It took only a few minutes for everything to be ready and she sat down for breakfast, talking with her parents. They had a good long chat and then Priscilla got up and went back into her room. Time for clothes! Of course choosing clothes was always difficult for poor Prisc. After all first she had to make a choice as to whether or not she was going to be a boy or a girl that day but she was feeling like a girl today. She had even tucked up already so that kind of settled it! She pulled on her underwear and then pulled on a light blue top and a pair of tight black shorts. A band of white went around her left thigh and right bicep and she pulled her boots on before throwing on a tight bomber jacket and zipping it halfway up. Pulling her hair out she flicked it out behind her and shook her head a few times before deciding that it was good enough. Ever since getting her Curse Mark, her hair didn't seem to ever knot, so that was simply wonderful! She wondered why everyone didn't have such a thing but then she remembered the pain and some of the more horrible things she had seen... Probably a fair enough reason as to why not everyone had a Curse Mark, a lot of people simply might not have been able to handle them... Well there was no time to think of bad things, she had to admit. She pulled herself up and swung her hips before nodding and darting out the door, leaping from the steps outside to land softly and dancing forwards. Already the music was getting louder as she focused on moving and getting herself ready. Her music liked to follow her thoughts and her feelings which was odd, she really had to learn how to control it better but there was only so much she could do just now. After all she was young and she was new to this, her parents just used their ronin abilities to their weakest extents but Priscilla couldn't do that, she had to learn how to use it to kill. How did one even use music to kill? She paused and thought back to the cup. It wasn't music. How had she never noticed it before? It was so obvious! What she generated was not music, her parents weren't exactly the smartest but they knew what vibrations were. She had never generated music, what she was making was vibrations that spread out around her, it just sounded like music to anyone that was listening! Suddenly everything made sense. A bright smile creased her features and she squealed, leaping upwards. People could use vibrations to kill, she knew that much. She looked down to her hands and then clapped, a little pulse of energy fleeing out from around her and knocking some plants and various bits of rubble away from her as well as a burst of ash. She jumped and put her hand to her chest, looking at it. Had she done that? It would seem that she had actually. She cracked her knuckles and smirked, focusing the music around her and pulsing it into the ground, the ground started to jump under her with the force of the music and she swung her hips side to side with it. How powerful could she make them, she wondered? Well it would take a lot more work than what she was currently capable of but it was definitely something that she wanted to test out later on! A grin split her features and she clapped again, another burst of power leaping out from her hands and sending the ash fluttering away from her. Could she use that to push away mist, she wondered. Her hand came up and stroked her chin. How else could she use that? Well... She stomped the ground and threw away the dust before sitting down and folding her legs under her body so that she could think better. Man she really wished she was in a shower, showers always helped her think better, sitting on the dusty ground contemplating how her unique power works wasn't really the ideal thinking position but she didn't mind too much. She rubbed her hands together and focused. What else could she do. Well she could fuse her songs together to make them more powerful or give added benefits, a harmony perhaps? She could even use her songs to mess with muscles and bones to make it painful to do certain things. She thought about that and decided to try it. Focusing her music, she let it float out around her and she nodded a few times before trying to move her arm quickly and then stopping. She could feel the vibrations instinctively telling her that if she moved too fast she'd tear herself apart. A gasp left her and she hopped to her feet. This was amazing. A grin split her lips and she squealed once more, leaping up and down repeatedly. She rolled her shoulders and then realised she could probably do the same with a lot of things, it would make her incredibly powerful if she could manage it. Maybe this would let her get a mentor, or at the very least it would stop her mentor from running away from her when she hunted him down to leap onto him and give him cuddles and kisses. Her senpai would never get away. A pause happened. Shinigami be praised... That sounded weird even in her head! She wasn't going to be like that, she was going to win her senpai's love and make sure that they would never leave her once they found out how wonderful she was. She giggled happily and nodded before moving into town, she'd probably get herself something to eat before she went home so it would seem like she had actually trained rather than just pretending... - Word Tally:
Words Written: 1465 Words Required: 1450
Basic Training for Physical = 250 D-Rank Speed = 50 D-Rank Endurance = 50 ^Halved due to Curse Mark of the Fae
Harmony - D-Rank = 100 Drown Out - D-Rank = 100 Rhythm - D-Rank = 100
Pulse - C-Rank = 200 Tempo level 2 - C-Rank = 200
Amplify - B-Rank = 400
Total = 1450
- Techniques Trained:
Name: Ninja Way Classification: Taijutsu Rank: D-rank Class: Supplementary Range: N/A
Description: Every human has a code of ethics which define themselves. It is because of that their natural stamina has been hardened. Because of that D-rank techniques do half as much damage as they would towards the other races as they do towards humans.
Name: Swift Release Classification: Taijutsu Rank: D-Rank Class: Supplementary Range: N/A
Description: The user focuses his/her chakra tweaking their chakra gates allowing them to move at incredible speeds to avoid getting hit by attacks.
Name: HeartBeat - Harmony Classification: Ronin Tech Rank: D-Rank Class: Supplementary Range: N/A
Description: Through the use of Deejay, Priscilla can have multiple songs active at once however this leads to a problem if multiple songs of the same style are used as following one makes the other dangerous and damaging. She has found a way around this by harmonising songs. This causes the songs to meld together and have their effects joined, meaning one has to follow the range of rules and stepping outside of them will trigger the recoil of all of the songs, making them much safer and yet much more dangerous. (Example, Tempo 1-3 are active with Harmony, meaning that D-B movement is allowed but moving at A or higher results in taking all three counts of damage.) Of course Priscilla can only harmonise so many songs depending on her rank.
Rank - Songs Harmonised D - 2 C - 3 B - 4 A - 5 S - 6
Name: HeartBeat - Drown Out Classification: Ronin Tech Rank: D-Rank Class: Supplementary Range: Varies
Description: There is one thing that is rather obvious about songs is that they usually end up quite loud. When a song is loud it can be difficult to hear anyone else over it and that is what this technique capitalises on. By making the song rather loud, Priscilla can of course drown out and muffle sound based genjutsu that are attempted to be used simply due to the volume of the song. The rank of genjutsu able to be blocked is dependent on the rank of the song that is in use however when coupled with Rhythm Amplify, it can massively increase the power of this technique.
Rank of Song - Hearing Level nullified - Amplify D - Kurogane minimum - Weakened C - Weakened - Normal B - Normal - Enhanced A - Enhanced - Kurogane Max S(+) - Kurogane Max - Kurogane Max+Sound filtering tech lower than Song rank
Name: HeartBeat - Tempo Level 2 Classification: Ronin Tech - Song Rank: C-Rank Class: Offensive/Supplementary Range: Twenty feet radius
Description: Altering the pace of the HeartBeat, Priscilla causes it to spread out around her and pulse at a very specific speed. This speed is instinctive for everyone that is within the range of it and moving against the beat is found to be quite painful. This beat causes anyone in the radius to utilise C-Rank speed tiers only, including Priscilla and her allies as this cannot differentiate. Anyone that is found that is not moving at C-Rank speeds takes B-Rank internal physical damage requiring B-Rank Strength+Defense tier chaining to block. The speed one is able to move it is instinctual to anyone within it, as such, they do not need to have experienced this technique before to know what it does.
Name: HeartBeat - Rhythm Classification: Fighting Syle Rank: D-Rank Class: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary Range: N/A
Description: There are multiple other things that can be done with HeartBeat rather than just songs. Through sudden manipulations and changes to the HeartBeat, multiple other effects can be triggered but they are not ongoing, instead they are more like ninjutsu with instantaneous effects. Some Rhythms however are add-ons to songs meaning that one needs to be active before the Rhythm can be added. Rhythms thus do not come under Deejay however only a certain number can be activated per post. Another can be activated after that and is called a Crush, a Crush however causes a burst of internal damage equal to the rank of the rhythm to everyone within the range of the Rhythm, even Priscilla, making them very dangerous.
Rank - Number of Rhythms per post D - 4 C - 6 B - 8 A - 10 S - 12
Name: HeartBeat - Pulse Classification: Ronin Tech - Rhythm Rank: C-Rank Class: Offensive/Defensive Range: Ten feet
Description: With the power of the music that surrounds her, Priscilla focuses the HeartBeat into a directed wave of sound that deals internal damage due to the nature of the force. This wave of music is also good for knocking back weak projectiles. When utilised a pulse bounces out of Priscilla at C-Rank speeds, dealing C-Rank physical concussive damage to anyone that it strikes, requiring C-Rank Defense tiers to mitigate the damage. This can also block any projectile moving at C-Rank or lower speeds that isn't backed by equal rank strength.
Name: HeartBeat - Amplify Classification: Ronin Tech - Rhythm Rank: B-Rank Class: Supplementary Range: N/A
Description: Amplify is almost the opposite of Mute in that it makes sounds stronger in the area as the music amplifies everything. While Amplify is active, the range of all songs is doubled and all sound concealment techniques are weakened by one rank as it becomes more difficult to hide sounds. There is an additional effect with Amplify in that if a crush is triggered while Amplify is active then the Crush actually deals damage one rank higher than usual to everyone within range and moves one rank faster due to the enhanced power of the music.

| It was nice being curled up on his bed if he was being honest and he enjoyed reading a good book. This one was a series of short tales about dark creatures, some of them were futuristic, some weren't but all of them were pretty good and pretty spooky if Priscen was being honest. He snuggled tighter into his little nest of blankets and pillows and opened the book, beginning to read... It was dark but it was always dark here. Not dark as in the lights were dim, not dark as though the moon was shrouded by the clouds as the thing didn't know what the moon was. It had heard of the subject through dreams, through regurgitated screams and curses as the emotions of victims resonated through its very form. It didn't know what they meant though, their memories gave some insight but not enough. It was a ball of light in the sky, white light, but it was dim? That was because it was small and very high up. This 'Moon' was in the sky apparently but what was the sky?
The creature had to stop and think of that for a moment. It didn't know what the sky was, but it seemed to play an important role to some of the prey. They were told to reach for the sky, that it was the limit, was the moon something the prey created? It was in the sky, which was their limit. Broken fragmented memories, recollections that related to the subject drifted across its sight, like visions through a shattered window. The prey had breached the sky and landed on the moon, so it wasn't the limit, they were told lies... Why? Almost all of the creature's knowledge came from instinct and that instinct had driven it to kill and devour prey, the prey then imparted more knowledge and understanding onto the creature, allowing it to become more alive. Whatever it meant to be truly alive anyway. The creature was still a thing of mindless instinct and needs, it didn't devour because it wanted to learn more, that was just a side effect. A pulsing through its emotions reminded it that it needed to eat soon or else it would waste away and become meal for the packs that roamed this darkness.
Shattered, fragmented eyes swivelled around, reading the eddies and currents of the shadows that surrounded it. This was the place it knew as home, or what the prey would call it. A hunting ground but not for the sustenance that this creature needed. It had to find a rift, a place where the dark had parted so that it could go into the light for a short time. It huffed out a breath between metallic teeth, grinding against one another as its jaws closed, forming a perfectly interlocking plate of fangs. It turned and loped into the void, head lolling and swaying as it moved, scanning the surroundings. There was one close, it could feel it, the... Wind on its face.
The rift was just that, a scar in the darkness, light poured in although it was faint. What did the prey call this? Night, the memories answered it. Long claws, sleek and black reached out of the darkness of the rift, tips digging into the asphalt, piercing through with ease. Soft crunches sounded as it hauled its bulk out of the relative safety and warmth of the dark womb. Its feet landed on the ground and the sinuous ropes of its wings fluttered out last, drifting around it and tasting the air, the spaded tips starting to pulse infrared radiation. The gash in the road closed behind the creature and it was left here. Lights atop poles stared down at it and it swayed to the side, bringing its head down for its many eyes to stare at what it was standing on. Was this world always like this? The memories told it that the world was similar but that the 'road' wasn't this small. There were white lines drawn on it. The creature found this curious but where had it learned curiosity? It wondered that itself.
The thing turned and shifted on, head swaying back and forth, body arched low in a hunting stance, long claws dragging along the ground. Why did the claws drag? They didn't do that in the darkness, they were so loud, they weren't like that before, the ground before was quiet. It turned and hissed at its claws, parting its teeth for a moment to utter the sound, the claws must have been at fault. A memory, no, more of a piece of knowledge drifted through the sight of the creature. The ground was made of a different material. Turning and leaning down again, it breathed at the material and hissed at it... It would seem the knowledge was correct. This was different, it didn't flutter away when it breathed, it held its ground, braver material it would seem. It didn't matter, the prey here was slow and weak, they wouldn't be able to run, not even with warning.
Confusion passed through it, the knowledge was helpful sometimes but it tried to impart emotions upon it, the creature did not like this. It turned and bolted into the somewhat darkness, it was filled with large objects in browns and greens, apparently they were called trees according to the prey's memories. The leaves brushed against the creature's shoulders and the top of its head as it ran forwards, arched low, claws out, slicing easily through the trunks of the trees as it run. It could feel one now, it was close, stopped, waiting. It was sitting in a growling metal monster though, small... So small.
The thing lowered its body, barreling out of the trees and slamming into the side of the metal creature, shattering clear parts of it into shards and denting its skin, sending it skidding backwards and tipping it over, its underside exposed. Claws lashed out, rending through it like paper, one tip punching into something softer and pulling the prey out of the metal creature, tossing them aside and bouncing them off the ground with a wet 'thwap'. The metal thing bled black and foul blood and seemed to be slain, it couldn't be feasted on though. The hunger pangs rocked the creature, now that the prey was closer they couldn't be ignored. It stepped over to the prey, they reeked of fear and blood, the claw had ripped one of its legs off and it was leaking lifeblood onto the ground yet continued to try and crawl away. The knowledge told it that this prey was male, whatever that was, and that it was dying. That wasn't good, that it could understand. It needed to devour now.
It lurched forwards and loomed over the 'man', claws coming down and punching through his arms into the road below. The man screamed and writhed but that just made the claws slice into his flesh and grate against his bones, making him stop. He was going to die soon, it had to be quick. Its jaws parted, pops and crunches echoing into the night as the jaws opened fully and a clang erupted as the snapped shut once more, cleaving perfectly through the front portion of the prey's skull and slicing off a piece of what was inside the bone, the brain the knowledge told it. A long white tongue, dripping oil, slid out of its maw as the teeth opened again and dragged the brain out allowing it to devour the material. The teeth snapped shut again as it snapped forwards, rending the head off of this man. It then carefully grabbed the top of the spine with its teeth before wrenching it out in a single motion and swallowing it whole, blood spattered across its head and the ground, warmer, tastier blood.
The creature howled to the night, a noise no prey would be able to hear. A shudder rocked through its body as the information overloaded its nervous system for a few moments, giving it something like ecstasy. This was why it ate, not just for strength but for this feeling, for the knowledge... Wasn't that different to the thoughts before? The creature pulled itself back, making itself cognisant again. More information ran before its eyes now, it wouldn't keep all of this but it had time to enjoy what it had learned
...
This prey was different. It was a hunter too. Information fluttered in front of the creature's eyes of how this one had taken others of its kind, bringing them into darkness, hurting them, killing them, making sport of their corpses. It would be seen as strong for its kind but it... He was dead now. The creature looked through this knowledge though. This man didn't just kill for nourishment or sport as others did he killed for pleasure, for enjoyment but he didn't just kill, he hurt? Why hurt when you could kill? The memories told him it was due to the reactions. The way they acted when they were hurt? Like the screaming, the spraying blood, the wailing? This creature wanted to experience that, why could this prey get enjoyment when it hunted but it couldn't? It could only get enjoyment when it killed, that wasn't good enough according to these memories.
Chattering left it, the teeth clacking together as it turned. The wings on its back, twelve long tendrils, spread out and above, sending out pulses to find the next one. It didn't need to eat, this one was for fun. There was a prey nearby, they seemed to be running, not quickly though, a jog? The creature ran towards them, faster this time, lunging and sprinting rather than loping. It broke the tree cover and drove its claws into the ground, arresting its momentum. Eyes snapped up and looked at the prey that had stopped. The prey looked up at it and seemed about to make a sound... A warning call perhaps? The thing stepped forwards and pushed them to the ground instead, knocking the wind out of them.
It stepped forwards and the knowledge it had taken told it of vitals points, of where it could strike in order to stop the prey from moving but not kill them. The wings shot forwards, tendrils punching through the prey's hands and their ankles, pinning them to the ground. They screamed and writhed around but it understood that as pain and the memories tried to impart pleasure upon it... It let them. It shuddered with the delight and brought its claws in, the tip of one pressed to the base of the prey's throat and dragged down, slicing through the strangely coloured skin that it wore but leaving the natural layer. Clothing. Not skin. It shook its head in confusion before leaning in closer and breathing on the skin, the breath ripped the moisture from it, causing it to crack and flake immediately. The claw came back but this time it pressed in to the shoulder and slid down to the elbow, parting the skin and opening it up in a spray of blood.
The creature hissed, it couldn't see anything under the all of the blood. It breathed on the wound, drying up the blood, preventing the prey from losing too much and it examined what it found. Bone, it would seem, crunchy, that was what it bit before. Did all of the body have this bone? The memories told the beast that this was so. Moving back to the abdomen it pressed its talon in close and pulled it down, the tip slicing the skin open from throat to pubis. The dessication had dug in deep though, no blood poured out, that was good. The prey gasped and writhed but they were stuck... That was good, not that they would be able to escape anyway. It tapped a claw against the bone covering. A memory told it that ripping this off would kill the person, it had to be smarter than that. Sliding the claw down it snapped each rib in turn before removing the ribcage and tossing it aside. It clacked as it bounced on the ground and the organs were revealed.
They were interesting. It leaned in close, compound eyes all focusing forwards, the surroundings didn't matter. The prey wasn't making noise. It looked up and realised that the pain must have been too much, the prey was gone. It snarled and then flung the human aside with a swing of its arm, casting her body away. Sounds. Now that the wings were released it could use them to sense its surroundings, there were others, more prey. It turned and looked across them, wings up to stay alert. There were many, more than one. They were weak though, it could kill them but they weren't attacking. They were all holding small objects, objects that glinted in the light, it leaned closer and started to take a step when one of the objects roared and unleashed fire. The fire struck the creature and it looked down but there was nothing. Another bark, another fleck of fire bouncing off of the creature. Were these weapons? It didn't have to fight them, it didn't want to fight them, why fight when there was nothing to fight for? It didn't need to feast.
The creature moved back and scanned its head side to side. There was another rift, did the darkness respond to its wants? It could only detect openings when it needed to feed, perhaps it did. It shook its head and turned, loping away towards the comfort of the shadows, the memories already fading, they didn't flutter across its sight anymore, they didn't distract it or make it feel but for the first time it had let them in. It could still feel the pleasure that the first prey felt, that still pulsed through its very being, perhaps it would visit the world of the prey more often now, perhaps it would learn to indulge in pleasure again.
But not now, there was danger and it needed the shadows. Its body slid into the scar easily enough and the void took it back to where it lived...
...Back to where they lived. He closed the book and let out a long shudder, his HeartBeat shuddering with it, a deep subsonic thrumming that pulsed through the ground around him. He got to his feet and skipped to his bookshelf, clutching the book tight to his chest. It was a good book but by golly was he easily scared, kind of ironic considering where he lived but that sort of thing happened he realised. Outside was a world of terror and he had to realise that one of these days. Prisc let out a long sigh and put the book back in its place before he walked to the window and leaned against it, looking out into the darkness. It was usually pretty dark around here but he didn't mind so much, he didn't really need to see anymore, not after learning that he could feel the world through his Heartbeat. He gave a quiet huff and reached up, putting his hands behind his hand, softly stroking his long pink hair. It was probably time to get ready for bed. He altered his Beat, turning it into a lullaby for himself, gently shaking his surroundings but he just kind of dealt with that nowadays. He walked to his drawers and pulled off his trousers and shirt, tossing them aside before stripping off his thigh-high socks and underwear and throwing them aside. A pair of panties came out of the drawer and he pulled them on along with a nightgown in a soft purple colour. The young boy yawned and stretched upwards, skin glittering in the light due to his Curse Mark. He was going to rank up soon and be treated a little better by his peers... That was good, he really couldn't wait! He might actually get to go exploring now. The thought made him giddy and he giggled happily before leaping into bed, pulling the blankets up and nuzzling into his pillow. Tomorrow was going to be a good day and he was looking forwards to it!
