A Beginning of Blood and Ice [Vlad and Sonya]

Missions:

Vladimir looked down at the mission that had been placed in his hand. It was a small piece of paper with not a lot of writing on it. It didn't need it, honestly. The mission he'd been given was simple enough; Paint the Walls of the administration building. Bah. Ah well, beggars couldn't be choosers. He had gone in looking for a mission, and had been handed just that... now it was just a matter of time of doing it. So there was no use complaining about it and even if he had complained that was probably the only mission he could handle at this point in time to be completely honest as he was just a lowly genin. Damn it sucked being weak.

With a soft sigh he would nod his head indicating that he had accepted this meaningless mission and walked out without another word. The only interesting thing about this mission was the fact that he wasn’t going to do this alone as someone else would be tagging along with the young Kurogane. This wasn’t because the mission was too much for one person to handle, it was because this person would now be his teammate. Yes as he was still a gennin, at the age of 16, which meant he needed a team and so he was assigned to one, though they didn’t have a sensei as yet but in truth who needed a teacher when he could be his own leader

Arriving at the administrate building Vlad would place Stufflebean, his bone egg in a safe position as he awaited his teammate to join him so they could get this god awful mission over with so he could get back to training.

"Yes wait no longer" The gurl burst on the scene appearing in a cloud of smoke. "Damn that was ninja" she said out loud. "Who the hell is this guy" she said looking at the boy who stood in front of the kage. Pretty cute though she thought. "Anyways ive decided this mission is for the losers so im going to go do something else. "Youll do the missions your assigned sonya!!" the kages attendent snapped. "Damn allright fine no need to be so yelly" she said. "Allright guy lets get this over with" she said nudging her new partner as she walked past him. "Damn kind of strong do you work out?" she asked. "I hope vlad can handle her" the kage said behind their back she is a bit of a handfull but they should work well together. Sonya always been the headstrong and mischivious type but usually yelling at her put her back into a cooperative place.

"Allright so guy why dont you get started here and ill go get some snacks and music and stuff and ill meet you back here sound good?" The young girl said slyly as she put the paint brush in his hand. "Plus this is a new outfit and im sure you dont want to ruin the whole thing that we got going. so its cool ill just be back in a second and then well fininsh this whole paint the house thing or whatever it was. What kind of snacks do you like?" she said walking away. "Totally ill get that" she said interupting whatever he was about to say giggling that she succeeded in escaping the tedius task.

Vladimir couldn’t help but shake his head the moment the girl had arrived. First impressions were the most lasting and right now he could tell that she would be a pain in the ass to be around, but in truth that mattered little to him as he wasn’t looking to be all chummy with anyone, he was a ninja and he had a task to do so even if he had to do this on his own he would. Taking the can of paint and the paint brush that she had forced onto him he would form a few seals quickly causing a bone release clone to drag itself out of the ground. “Go ahead and get your snacks, just know that once I’m done with this mission, I’ll be submitting it as a solo mission so I’ll just collect all the rewards for myself.” He simply stated before turning his back to the girl then handing the paint and the brush too the clone. Since this was a pretty big building he needed a ladder and he had known just the place to get one.

"Aw god damnit listen just be cool guy come on" she said as she turned around. After realizing her manipulations wouldnt work. She would have to resort to using a different method to get out of this but for now she would just play ball. " god damit" she said looking up at the impressive structure. She threw the paint brush into the paint and began painting the wall. " oh a bone clone " she commented as she seen the clone go to work not bad maybe he was just as lazy as her. In that case ice clone technique she said as she created a clone of ice. "Great now we can go to the movies... what do you think? " she asked as she instructed her clone to go to work. Not sure how he would reat to this question this would really reveal how cool he was or was he the strict and hardworking type. She was always very intrested in people and how they act if not a ninja she would have tried to be a therapist even though thats alot of work.

A soft sigh escaped his lips as he came to the realization that he was paired with a slacker. To her this might have seemed like a bother but to him this was something he needed to do, he was aiming to become a great shinobi and no matter what the task he was going to see it out, with or without her. “How about instead of complaining and looking for ways to not do your job, you help me and the clones out so we can get things done.” Vladimir stated s he leaned the ladder against the building. The clone would then climb the ladder to the top and began painting the highest point of the building while Vladimir would begin painting at the bottom of the building. He was hoping that she would get her head in the game and actually began working as it would take him hours to finish on his own.

"Ooh how lame, your no fun vladdy" she pouted as she continued to paint the wall. So thats how it was huh if it was going to be like that maybe she could break him into a degenerete like her or atleast loosen up a bit. Or was it that he was supposed to change her into an upstandiing member of the ninja society. Very sneaky kage but i guews he was a ninja after all. After moments of silence sonya became curious about him again despite her best efforts " so vladdy tell me about yourself. What was your childhood like??." The wall was now staarting to looke good as the four of them continued stroking it with the paint brush

“My childhood….?” Vladimir muttered to himself after hearing her question. Should he just tell her the truth about how torrid his childhood actually was? Should he mention the sheer torment he suffered on a daily basis by his abusive and pedophilic uncle? Of course he would say such things to anyone, especially a hyperactive stranger. Maybe if they had gotten close one day, which was unlikely as they were two different personalities, until then a lie would suffice. “Well I grew up in the Kurogane clan district. My parents were no name shinobi whose biggest achievement was opening up a bakery. Nothing of interest happened to be honest other than the fact that I was sick for awhile hence why I’m still a genin.” He ended continuing his precise strokes of the paint brush

"I hear ya" sonya said solemnly she was way to self involved to notice that he was clearly lying. His demeanor made it clear that something horrible must have happened. "A bakery huh.. i love bakerys can you get me free food" she asked selfishly. Lying or not sonya would never give up an oppertunity to get free things regardless of what it was. The brush continued to move until half the wall was covered. "Fuck this is going to take forever, you dont have any kind of technique to make this go faster do ya" she wondered. She didnt want to seem lazy to him anynore but her hand was starting to hurt and the sun was only getting hotter. With the exception of a cool breeze blowing every now and again this was torture for the impatient girl.

“Well if you manage to actually get some work done I’ll get you some free food.” Vladimir said with a slight smile as he finished up his section of the wall. Of course not telling the full story would come back to haunt him but little did she know that his uncle in fact did own a bakery, only thing was that it was sometimes used as his base of operations when he felt like having over some children for some play time. “Unfortunately I didn’t learn any paint style techniques so you better move them arms a bit faster.” Vlad replied to the girl’s complaint. Even though she was complaining all day, he had to agree that this was a very tedious task no wonder people had avoided this mission.

"Ah bribery is it now your speaking my language" the girl laughed cutely. Her arms startrd moving faster as to keep up with the speed of vlad and his clones. Despite how he tried to hide it his face was telling the story that he agreed with her this task would never be accomplished before nightfall. However he used bones that wouldnt be useful to them in this situation this one would have to be on her. She hit her head a couple times with the soft part of her fist until an idea would form. " yess that might work" she yelled as she finally put ot together. She threw the paint can up in the air so that the paint would come out falling to the ground then forming her handseals she would launch the gust of hell technique to force the paint onto to cover the wall. It was a but messy as some of the paint would fall onto the ground but for the most part it wasnt too bad. "Hey not bad hows that vlad this mission can suck it right" she laughed triumphantly.

Vladimir couldn’t help but chuckle at her childish way of thinking. Only a kid would think of doing something so reckless and unconventional, but he had to admit it was a smart move even though now he was covered in paint but it would probably wash off, hopefully. The clone had somehow finished the entire roof of the building, probably because it wasn’t wasting its time talking like they were, so they were somewhat done, they just needed to give it a nice brush over and the building will look as good as new. “Well I suppose the clone could finish the rest now that we’ve manage to get the building covered.” Vladimir said while wiping the paint from off his face. Though he was pretty sure that the higher ups would be pretty pissed that they had covered most of the lawn and the concrete in paint.

Sonya had her eyes closed so she didnt notice that she just covered her partner head to toe in paint as well as the lawn. "oh im sorry vlad" she said rushing over to him. She would assist in wiping off the paint as best as she could smiling as she seen him start to grin. He could have been a real dick about it but he handled it very well. He was vlearly aomeone who didnt cause problems for little reasons. This was deffidently the type of partner she needed as she made alot of recjless and impetious decisions. " im sure this paint will come right out" she said continuing to help him wipe off. " his smile was so cute she had to giggle. "I know she said water style will help in this situation" preparing to use the water prison technique. If he didnt stop her she would drench him using a one second water prison to rain on him. The lawn and concrete however were on their own. The clones looked at her temporarally stopping their work like really are you serious. But she wasbt about to waste anymore chakra on clones they would have to deal with that its not like they had feelings or did they she didnt understand clones too well yet.

“It’s fine.” Vladimir said as she started assisting him with getting the paint off. The paint off his clothes would be quite easy to get off, the paint in his hair however would be a different matter, but there was no reason to be upset at his teammate, she was still young and had much to learn hopefully she won’t do anything that might get him killed in the near future. “A water style?” He said a bit concerned about the technique she was thinking about using on him. Maybe it was a subtle technique that made a light drizzle, or maybe it was something violent that would literally peel the skin off his bones, god he hoped not. Before he could get a word in however he was almost instantly covered in an orb of water, which he was unable to avoid as it was faster than he was. After a few moments within the he could feel the  oxygen leaving his body at an alarming rate, his face would immediately contort in pain as he struggled to hold his breath for much longer.

"Whoa calm down vlad its just a second" she said as she seen him start to panic. With that another aspect of his past was coming into focus. He must have been tortured before in some way judging by his extreme reaction to being restricted for one second. She knew that to a former victim that could feel as if it were a lifetime. After releasing the water prisin she would apologize and make a note not to do it again. She wanted to ask what happened in his past that was so bad that hed react like that but would just accept her mistake and move on. Her clone looked in bewilderment as well as she silently went back to work. The clones were almost done their work it was looking like this mission was coming to an end. " sorry vlad might on thw upside the paints off"

After being released by the water prison, Vladimir would fall to his knees gasping for air. Though it was only for a few seconds it had brought up memories of that time his uncle had arranged for him to stay in a cell in the East Dome, and we all know what they do to the prisoners there. “Yeah the paints off…” He muttered while take deep breaths. Though he wouldn’t show it, he was quite upset. Not at Sonya of course but at himself for showing his weakness in her presence. Letting out a soft sigh, Vlad would stand on his feet and ran his hands through his wet hair before turning his attention to the building that was now complete. “Well I guess we should report to the Kage”

"Yes ok" she said nodding her head she was still upset with herself that she hurt him but would not allow that to show ninjas werent supposed to have hearts though hers was huge. Following behind him as they made their way into the kages presence she would be expecting a job well done and would except nothing else. "Hey so vlad about those free cookies" she brought up suddely as they awaited the kage. She wondered if he knew her well enough to know she wouldnt forget about something like this. Sonya rocked on her ankles trying to look as sweet as possible to make him forget how she accidently tortured him twice.

Vladimir would report to the Kage’s assistant and provided her with the necessary details and then they were each rewarded. Though this mission should’ve been straight forward, it was nothing but a pain in the ass though he wouldn’t have had it any other way since now he had made a friend and hopefully they would be together for the whole nine yards. “Sure I’ll treat you to some cookies.” Vladimir said with a smile before her patted Sonya on the head. Since the mission was over might as well get to know more about the hyperactive toketsu while they were together. “Do you have any dreams Sonya?” Vladimir asked as he exited the building and headed towards the district he lived expecting Sonya to be following him.

Sonya looked in suprise and began to blush as vlad touched her head with the promise of cookies. She barely had time to realize his question she was so exited. Walking away with vlad she smiled as she thought about his question. " look at this guy" she commented as she lightly touched his back. "What a deep question vladdy, lets see um i dream mostly of making people laugh i think i wanna be a comedian, cant ninja all the time right, how about you babe??" She asker as they grew closer to their destination where free cookies were rumored to live.

Vladimir couldn’t help but chuckle at her answer. Normal people would say that they wished to be a Kage or a medical ninja but then again Sonya was everything but normal and frankly it was quite refreshing, he was glad that she wasn’t stuck up and self absorbed like he was. “Well one dream I do have is to travel the world, I’d love to see the world beyond the dome of Dipugakure.” He finally said. He had never been outside the village before and he had wished that one day he would be able to traverse the world and visit the different villages and maybe even the different factions, sadly he was just a mere genin and leaving the village on his own would probably result in his swift death, oh how cruel the world was. Vladimir would exit the area expecting Sonya to follow him of course
