Legendary Technique

On the site the most powerful rank is not SSS-rank rather a select few have the opportunity to learn a Z-rank technique. Only specific characters can learn this technique and they must fill one of two requirements: the first is a completely maxed out Jutsu Limit not including those increased through Specialization Training. The second is a 2500 Word Solo Training that cannot be lowered by specs, gifts or anything that reduces the required word count for trainings, after which the character is made Elite and cannot rank up any further whether they change factions or anything of the like.

There is a third requirement and it is perhaps the most important. This is that No Other Character from that Account can have a Z-rank. There is only 1 Z-rank technique per account and once that character dies, they are then allowed to learn it again with another character after fulfilling the requirements all over again.

Training for the Z-rank = Free once you have maxed your character or completed a 2500 Word Training.
*In regards to the specialization that allows for two characters to possess a Z-Rank, this applies only to the first time, the second requires a 2500 (if maxed) or 3000 (if trained) Word Training Topic, that cannot be reduced by any means, to learn it.

Shinobi/Kunoichi the Z-rank is available to:
Elite Genin
Chunin Instructor
Elite T. Jonin
Elite Med-Nin
Elite Jonin
Hunter Nin Captain
Kage
Gokage
Koikage

Missing Nin the Z-rank is available to:
Elite C-Rank
Elite B-Rank
Elite A-Rank
Elite S-Rank
Z-rank
X-rank

*Note it is possible to obtain 2 Z-ranks IF and only IF one of them is a Combination Technique. The second is required to be trained and must be comprised of 3 SSS-rank techniques. If this is done, similar to the one per account rule no other Character in the account can possess a Combination  Technique Z-rank, it likewise forfeits the account's ability to have a character learn a X-rank Combination Technique until one of said user's dies thus resulting in the inability to use it anymore due to one of the users being no longer available.

Equivalence
The Z-rank is equivalent in damage to 3 SSS-ranks, due to that massive power difference they are often considered to be nigh unstoppable. Z-rank level damage is also impossible to reach with self combination jutsu when the power of a technique gets to that level it becomes volatile and detonates killing the user attempting it. This of course only applies to self combination jutsu rather than utilizing multiple SSS-ranks to counter a Z-rank technique.

In terms of cost Z-rank uses a unique system which is based on the rank of the user and uses their Entire system to calculate the drain it costs the user.

Hybrid uses which ever system comprises it however in the case of techniques not in the Hybrid category it takes from each system that it does damage. (e.g a Z-rank Technique which does Physical, Chakra & Spiritual damage from a Elite Jonin will consume half of their Fatigue, Chakra Reserve AND Blood Limit)

Rank Reference
Spoiler:

Chakra uses the Chakra Reserve Limit
Spoiler:

Mental uses the Nen Limit and is only available if one has Nen
Spoiler:

Physical uses the Fatigue Limit
Spoiler:

Spiritual uses the Blood Reserve Limit and is only available to those who have Blood
Spoiler:

Natural uses the Natural Energy Reserves and is only available to those who are able to harness Natural Energy
Spoiler:

*Note: If the user of this technique does not have the required amount to sustain this technique even if it is just 1 D-rank off they instantly die upon preforming the technique. In addition if they use up their entire limit to preform this technique the next technique they will succumb to the effects of Chronic Fatigue, Blood Loss, will die from chakra exhaustion with an additional technique use, will be knocked unconscious from over Nen use, will be knocked out of Sage mode, Petrify from overusing Natural Energy.

Legendary Combination Jutsu

While the most powerful rank is in fact a Z-rank, Combination jutsu likewise have a threshold max which goes by a final Ranking system after which any additional strength will result in an unstable combination detonating and killing all the participants involved. Unlike the Z-rank the X-rank Combination Art is not restricted per account but rather by character(s). Likewise just like all other Combination Jutsu the X-Rank Combination Art can only be formed if all members are present to form it.

Equivalence
The X-rank is equivalent in damage to 9 Z-ranks, due to that massive power difference they are often considered to be Deity level power. X-rank level damage is also impossible to reach with self combination jutsu when the power of a technique gets to that level it becomes volative and detonates killing the user attempting it. This of course only applies to self combination jutsu rather than utilizing multiple SSS-ranks to counter a Z-rank technique.

Likewise any combination jutsu utilizing post Z-rank Damage can be considered "X-Rank" however it is vastly underpowered in comparsion to a true X-Rank. So far only the Bijuu have demonstrated the potential to utilize an X-rank Combination Art by each chaining their Z-rank Menancing Ball together. Other than the Dieties themselves, only the Juubi is capable of utilizing an X-rank on it's own.

Just like a Combination Art the cost of an X-rank stems from all the parties involved however all X-rank Combination Arts even those which are not true X-ranks consume a Z-rank price from each of the participants involved. Likewise just like Z-ranks if it is hybrid based it takes a Z-rank price from each of the energy sources (Fatigue,Chakra,Nen,Blood) that are involved in the combination. As a result X-ranks have some of the harshest costs of techniques on the site as a way to balance their power.

Signature Techniques

Signature Techniques refer to techniques which are made the signature of the individual in question, once a technique is made signature it is unable to be trained by others in combat, replicated by copying techniques when seen, or even mirrored by others. The only time this is possible is if the individual in question teaches others, writes the information on how to preform it and distributes/sells said knowledge or has children and passes that knowledge on to them. Every character on nb has a limited amount of techniques that they can make signature claiming it and making it iconic to their character, this includes but is not limited to even Canon Techniques with a couple notable exceptions (In the case of canon techniques always post it up in technique registration to see if it is available to make signature). Likewise Race Exclusives can not be made signature unless one makes an advanced offshoot from those techniques, in addition any original technique made by a character that isn't from canon or listed in the various racial exclusives can be claimed as a Signature.

Depending on the Rank of the Individual the number of Signature Techniques they have varies.

D-rank = 2
C-rank = 4
B-rank = 6
A-rank = 8
S-rank = 10
"Z"-rank = 12
"X"-rank = 14

*Note - Scholars always have double the amount of signatures available this is due to teaching others and creating new techniques being their livelyhood unlike with the combat classes who primarily use it for fighting.
*Note - When either learning or inheriting the Signatures of others it doesn't take from one's current signature amount but rather lowers their overall. (I.e A Chunin has 6 Signatures but learned one from their dad. At X-rank they'll only be able to have 13 signatures in total due to their parent's signature taking away one of their slots.)

Concerning Signature Techniques

1. Any technique which is being claimed as Signature must have (Signature) written next to the technique name.
2. Fighting Styles act like gateway techniques allowing one to utilize techniques of that style, as a result any fighting style which is made Signature automatically has any techniques derived from it also being signature but not counting towards the overall number of slots one has for Signature techniques.
3. Signatures which are Canon techniques only count so long as the individual who has claimed them is still alive, if they aren't then it once again becomes available for common use.
4. In the case of a technique (Canon) being claimed as a signature all those who has it prior to it becoming signature are still able to both use and teach it to others as if it weren't. As a result when claiming canon techniques it goes on a first come first serve basis. Likewise the benefits to the technique being signature extend to all the others who have it trained not just the one who actually claimed it as a signature making it a potential double-edged sword due to not taking any of their signature slots.
5. Clan techniques are Signature if they are within a Non-Kg clan, likewise additional Signatures from members of the clan can be added to them in order to increase the clan's technique arsenal. Signatures are actually how such clans originally formed by isolating the knowledge on how to preform such techniques within only ones close friends and family.

Exclusive Techniques

Exclusive techniques are the next level up, featuring all the benefits of Signature Techniques except being even more isolated, Exclusive Techniques are unable to be taught they are restricted to the individual in question as well as their lineage (Children onward). There exists one exception however every individual who has an exclusive can teach one singular person such as an apprentice in order to pass on their technique through generations. While those within clans have the option of adding it to the clans technique list which once all members of that individual's family line are dead it downgrades to Signature. Exclusives are even more limited than signatures and can not be attached to Fighting Styles only a technique or series of techniques. Exclusive techniques are always exclusive and if the originator dies then that techniques is lost...unless one is most dedicated to reanimating the originator and learning from them.

Depending on the Rank of the Individual the number of Exclusive Techniques they have varies.

D-rank = 1
C-rank = 2
B-rank = 3
A-rank = 4
S-rank = 5
"Z"-rank = 6
"X"-rank = 7

*Note - Scholars always have double the amount of exclusives available this is due to teaching others and creating new techniques being their livelihood unlike with the combat classes who primarily use it for fighting.
*Note - When either learning or inheriting the Exclusives of others it does count towards one's current number of slots for exclusives.

Concerning Exclusive Techniques

1. Any technique which is being claimed as Exclusive must have (Exclusive) written next to the technique name.
2. The only time Exclusives can be used to create Fighting Styles is if they were manifested through a Mutation, Kekkei Genkai or Kekkei Tota as all three are used to create new bloodline limits (Kg's) which can be used to form new clans or add to existing ones.
3. Canon Techniques can not be made into Exclusives (No Exceptions)
4. In the case of developing an series of Exclusives which are offensive in nature, it always results in at least 1 stage being imperfect and dealing damage back to the the user in terms of recoil due to the specific attack not being fully developed.
5. Clan techniques are exclusive in KG or Special Clans in regards to their kekkei genkai (Eye, Body & Element), and Kekkei totas all other techniques within the clan are treated as signatures. In regards to Clan techniques being signatures, this is the reason why clan techniques can't be used or mimicked outside of the actual clan.
