Maxi's Training Thread

Maxi sat on the top of the Academy roof staring at the people aimlessly droning about. He wasn’t particularly thrilled to be at the academy since he spent most of this time either in his dorm sleeping, avoiding all contact with this dorm mates, or on the roof reading the book his forefathers created, titled “Loveless”, which was an odd title to say the least considering each had married women they deemed the love of their lives, but he would eventually find out why he guessed. Maxi opened the book and it had a picture of Daisuke Bishamon, the Wanderer they called him, seeing that he had a bad habit of wandering off for days and in one case four years. Maxi shook his head as he thought about someone getting up and just wandering the world in search of something. Well whatever it was it must have been very precious to him. As he was about to begin reading the book, the school bell rang signaling lunch, and instantly his stomach grumbled. “I suppose I could eat something before starting this book”, Maxi placed the book inside his backpack and headed to the cafeteria.


Maxi waltzed down the halls leading to the cafeteria with his hands down into his jacket pockets, so far he had only one friend and he hadn’t seen him in ages, and from the looks of it he was the only one from Hakagakure there. Bummer. School life can get pretty boring  without someone to talk to, or someone to call a friend but from what he had seen so far everyone had some weird vibe about them, must be parent issues, Maxi thought as he popped a piece of gum in his mouth and began chewing. Whatever his situation he was determined to make the best of this…..situation so he could see his mother and grandmother once again, he had missed the time he had spent with them.


Maxi would grab a tray and waited in line like all the others for lunch, the food seemed good, too good for an academy standards but with those shogunate pulling the strings, they would need us big and strong so they can pit us together in the near future, a cruel thought but a true one nonetheless, his father often questioned the motives of the shogunate and was one of many who opposed the idea of a united academy, but it seemed as if they were able to convince others it was for the good of the world, or something like that. “Ummm, I’ll have the chicken please”, Maxi said with his face against the counter, the lunch lady looking rather impatient as he took forever to decide. He would look around for an empty chair to sit in as everyone was either in a group or had a lunch partner. The familiar feeling of loneliness crept up as he couldn’t help but notice how lonely he truly was. “Hopefully things get better” , he said as he sat in a bench furthest away from everyone alone.

A single droplet of sweat hit the sand, yes, he finally knew it. Daisuke stood in one place as he stared at the small town. What a feat he had accomplished, to be able to handle such heat on a daily basis, being so far from any sort of source of water. It was astonishing that they were able to function as a society in the middle of a god damn desert. Though, pushing his awe-struck feelings aside, he needed some society to speak to right now. The supplies that Sapphire, had provided him with a few days ago had stayed its welcome, and now it was time to get some food and water back into his body. He slowly paced himself as he walked forward into the city, trying his best not to attract any attention to himself. Though, it did not take long for him to fall to one knee, putting one hand to the sand to keep his balance. He could not afford to fall down at this moment; he needed to know where she was, he needed to have his revenge.
Daisuke slowly rose to his feet as his eyes scanned the desert savannah. It had been years that he been back at Hakagakure but his memory of the place didn’t fail him one bit. One man, one of a decent build and a scar over his eye, approached the renegade with a smile spread over his face. He wore simple brown rags, one of a small village elder. They may have not been much, but his build and scar told a different story of this man’s past. ”Hello, weary traveler. Tis have been such a long time since we had such a powerful visitor. We can sense the chakra within your body and your potential, yes; you have come a long way from the Tower of Knowledge. Please, you are welcome to come and rest with us. Daisuke lightly smiled at the scarred man, happy to take his offer. The both of them entered a hut made of pure wood.
Daisuke took a look around to see that he was met with two mattresses, a small kitchen with a kettle on the stove, and a weight set in the corner. Maybe that was how he was able to get so strong in the first place, given there seemed nothing else to do. The pale ninja leaned forward with his body, but his feet would not listen to him. He yearned for nourishment, but it wasn’t food or water he desired it was blood. It had been nearly a week since her last feed, his drive to know the truth and gain revenge had robbed him of all his sense and now it seems that it was all catching up to him at once. He would feel his body shutting down but was powerless in stopping the inevitable. His limp body would hit the ground, and his consciousness soon followed. His grey eyes watched as the man walked over to him, his lips moved but no words came from them. His brain had robbed him of his sight and he finally fell unconscious.


Hours passed; maybe even days went by as the ninja rested up in the man’s hut, unknown to the large population of the Hakagakure. Slowly, his energy returned to him. His eyelids crept open, revealing a wooden roof in his way. His upper body rose up as he gave a good look around. Yes, it was the area where he first rested, but now he was lying on the mattress that he spotted. He saw the man was lifting some weights as Daisuke rested up. The man noticed that he was now awake, so he put his weight back onto its stand and he got up from the bench to approach the side of the bed. ”So, you have finally awoken from your slumber.” How dramatic he made it sound, like Daisuke was some chosen ancient vampire chosen to destroy humanity. Maybe he was, maybe it happened in his past. In either scenario, the man went on with talking. ”Now that you are awake, maybe you can tell me what brings you to our village? It’s very rare that we get a visitor, what with the great amounts of heat that surround us and the unbearable conditions that we go through.” While he spoke, he brought over a small wooden chair and set it beside the mattress, sitting upon it so he could listen to Daisuke’s explanation.
