| Mushautumn followed the pull of their magic from the patch into the forest, looking around themselves and observing their surroundings, looking at the other plants and the trees, but most importantly keeping an eye-out for predators. They didn't know much about the world outside, but they knew that they were small and that small things were in more danger than big things "Everything is really pretty, though" They thought to themselves, reflecting on everything while they followed the draw of their magic to wherever it may lead them. Hopefully to someplace fun, and not dangerous. They would hate to have to fight something with only their rather unreliable magic to defend them, or run with their short little legs. It wouldn't be a fun time at all. | |

| They would be led down a somewhat winding path and then in the clear up ahead one would be able to hear hissing and a low whimper up ahead, should the Myconid check it out they would come across a tragic scene as it would seem that a Poison Viper was currently wrapped around an older elf while a much younger one of indiscriminate gender watched on horrified. Said younger one had tears running down their eyes and was seemingly transfixed being unable to move and only watch as their mother was being suffocated to death, about 5 feet away from the snake was a broken staff with both of its ends sharpened into points. It was now up to the Myconid known as Mushautumn whether they would intervene, whether to kill the elven child while the poison viper was preoccupied with it's own meal, try and assist the elven child in some way or wait it out to see if the poison viper would get greedy and try to eat both of the elves and try and kill it while it was bloated from feeding. What Mushautumn did know was that it's magic had led it here with the feeling actually coming from the Elven mother, so it was quite possible that Mushautumn being led to this place was actually a last ditch attempt at help though with her life fading whatever follow-up instructions had vanished as well.

| Mushautumn looked at the scene before him, from the mother to the viper and then to the child. He felt the need to help the little one, but he had also felt the magic leading to the mother. So he decided to try and help the woman, and if he could not he would take the child as far away from this place as he could. He rushed over to the broken staff and picked up one end, gripping it tight to brace it and himself for what he was about to do. He might only have one shot with this. If he didn't get a kill, then the thing would come after him, and if it could kill someone much bigger than him with such ease he wouldn't stand a chance. He would attempt to sneak around to a blind spot before stabbing at the creature's head with the sharpened point of the staff. He stabbed three times, aiming for an eye, the underside of the snake's head at the neck, and the junction where neck met head. Hopefully he would be able to kill or scare this thing off... | |

| The lone myconid was able to successfully sneak around the clearing and snag one end of the staff and thrn creep up to it while it kept its gaze on the elf child. He would strike it causing it to reel in pain while the elf child would suddenly regain he ability to move and rush over to grab a stick of his own. He would eventually reach the viper when Mushautumn stabbed at it again though now it tried desperately to untangle itself from around the elf mother. When Mushautumn stabbed again this time he was joined by the elf and a crack would ring out as in the process of untangling itself the viper snapped his mother's neck. Either way now it was free and very wounded but likewise very angry especially since it couldn't use its stare to immobilize them. But it could still taste them and would hiss trying to intimidate them into backing off. - Spoiler:
