Roxas had finally made it to the Land of Ash where he could begin his training. He looked up at the massive black mountains around, knowing some were volcanoes. It was exciting to know that one could erupt at any moment, but his eyes were set on the main volcanic attraction to this land. Mt. Diablo. The Devil's Mountain. Roxas began his journey and walked his own path toward the mountain.

As far as scenery could go, this place was meh. I mean like there was a volcano, but other then that it was quite dead, as nothing can truly strive into life with such death residing so near. However, there was one small aspect to make note of, in fact, it had already began to Suss out the intruder. A lone boy, around the age of 9, armed with nothing but a sword, butt naked, but half crazed, blood dripping from his mouth with an unknown creature beside him, laying lifeless. Well, have fun dealing with that now.

Roxas came to a stop as he witnessed the boy. He looked from the creature to the boy's blade. Tekio, exam the blade. See if it is anything special, he thought as he slowly reached toward his own blade. "Umm.. Are you alright kid?" he asked as he cautiously approached the young male. They were almost the same in height, so they were probably close to the same age. But even so, Roxas knew how dangerous a young kid could be armed with a blade. And seeing as he managed to kill some animal, he probably knew how to use it. Roxas also didn't like the wild look of the boy as well.

The boys eyes widened as Roxas' neared, a red bundle of unknown insides dropping from his hand onto the black rock beneath. It would appear as though a more appealing meal had come his way, who knows how long this poor child has been alone, however it was no doubt long enough. He sword held only one ability, whomever it comes it contact with will be driving into madness whilst the connection is intact. He would bend down into a crouching position, baring his oddly sharp teeth and growling at the back of his throat, sounding more like a dog then a boy, before springing his legs, launching himself forwards, his claw slashing from the left, and his blade going in for a pierce from the right, not to mention his teeth heading straight for his...well nuts.

Roxas raised an eyebrow as Tekio told him of the blade's ability. So he is just driven mad by the blade. I see. he thought as the boy lunged at him. How slow it seemed from what Roxas was used to. Roxas dropped his hand then right before the boy got within five feet of him, Roxas launched stepped forward and let out a single right hook at Blinding Light speeds to knock the boy out clean and fast. He decided not to put too much strength behind it, just enough to knock the boy unconscious. His regular strength (C Rank) should have sufficed.

The boy was indeed knocked clean out, travelling several feet before finally crashing hardly into the solid rock, scraping apart his skin. Somehow, he still managed to hold firmly onto the blade, and his growling never seemed to stop, even in his empty blood red dreams. Nether the less, that obstacle has been faced, and it was to be expected in the outcome. No 'normal' D-Rank character could ever truly stand up against a shogunate (PC) shinobi, regardless of their rank. Sigh, how unfair the world can be sometimes.

Roxas walked over to the boy and pried his fingers open from the blade. From there he took out a towel from his backpack and wrapped the blade up carefully in it before sliding it halfway into his backpack. He took out a bag of chips and a bottle of water, laying it next to the boy for when he awoke. Not all battles had to be won through killing. Roxas had just proved it. And now, with his newly acquired trophy, Roxas continued forth on his journey.

Unfortunately, this volcano seemed to have been claimed by more then just half crazed little boys who lost their mommy. A camp was not far from Roxas, within sight actually. A firepit in the middle, smoke rising, 3 poorly made tents and a few small creatures on a spit, with 2 men watching over the lot. From behind, another 2 men would appear. "See somefin' yah like, boy? Best teh keep yah wondering eyes offah our camp." It was a fat boy, round as round can be, but poorly hygiened, dirtier then the rats he ate. "Yeeh, yah lil' shit." Said the other, skinnier then a victoria secret runway model. Then he whistled hard, sharp and loud, ringing into both fat boy and Roxas' ears, alerting the others. The two at camp redirected their attention.

Roxas sighed, he didn't come here to visit the locals. He decided it might be best to scare them away. He turned to face them then began sliding back on his roller blades. "Listen... I don't wanna fight... But if you are sure you want some conflict... Well..." He said as flames ignited along his skates and the air thickened with heat. "You can drop your valuables, like special weapons, items, etc. And run, that or maybe die, is your only option," he said, and when he finished those words the heat blasted out like a furnace and he disappeared within the heat, only to reappear as a 20 foot tall giant near the tents. He looked down at them and drew his Chikuto. "Well?" he called out with a dark glare on his face.

The two men laughed at his words, fat boy even going as far as drawing his hunting knife, however he instantly changed his mind once the giant appeared, placing his knife on the ground and stumbling backwards. Skinny pete however, had falling to his ass in shock, almost dying of fright. "G-G-G-Gewy, G-G.." He instantly turned to high tail it out of their, crawling for a meter or two before finally standing and sprinting back to camp. Jerry as we now know is his name, took a different approach. "T-Take meh knife, i ain't got nah beef wif no giant. We were juss playin'. We haf nothin' of value, please, we are juss poor folk livin' off teh land." He grovelled as best he could. Meanwhile, the two men back at camp, shock their heads, sat their ass's back down and returned to their drink.

"Fuck dat Shit, Samie." "Fuck dat shit teh hell."

The giant disappeared and Roxas reappeared in front of the boy. He smiled and skated backwards on his path. "Alright, I won't take nothing from you. On one condition, you be nicer to travelers. If I hear you tried robbing someone again, I'll come and slit all your throats, okay? Oh, and down that way a bit is a little kid. He was driven mad by something, take him in will yah? At least till he can get back on his feet and find his way home," said Roxas before he skated away at bullet release speeds, leaving the camp far away in the background.

The man nod 12, no 13 times, before doing a penguin like wattle run off into the distance after a child which may or may not still be there. The scenery wouldn't change much, however the hills would get steeper, and skating getting more difficult. Other then this, no real changes, no sign of life this close to the volcano, at least, thats how it appears on this end. Oh well, better luck next time.

As Roxas kept going, it seemed he had no difficulty traversing the rocky terrain on his skates. After all, he was a Kukinorite and was following the Gaia Road. The ground was his home. As Roxas waited and waited for something to occur, for some rare object or something, he would keep his senses open through his skates trying to locate any vibrations. Meanwhile, he would visually look out for any possible caves or lava beds. He had done some research before coming here and had an idea on what could make him much stronger.

After 4 failed attempts, it would appear as though the young genin's luck was finally starting to turn around. It wasn't grand, or majestic, but it was well and truly enough to fill a C-Rank spot, and if its not good enough, later, after ranking a little, he can reject this beast and get a new one. An Ioprey was eating at a dead lizard only a few yards for his location, and it was well and truly the best non-insect small animal i could see in the land of ash. Mind you i may have missed something as the list is hard to navigate. Anyway, its just over there, go get it tiger.

When Roxas spotted the raptor like creature he came to a stop and smiled. One of the few creatures he had been looking for within this land. He slowly slid his backpack off from his shoulder and reached in, pulling out a little snack he brought with him. A clump of roast beef, and some of the famous BBQ ribs from a shop at the Academy. He let out a little whistle to try and get the creatures attention, moving so he was upwind so not only would the beast notice him, but also the smell of the food he was carrying.

I don't know what it was, but for some odd reason, BBQ sauce attracted the beast. Maybe carnivores like foreign sauces, or perhaps this mod is just being nice because in truth, he now feels like ribs...thanks. Regardless, the beast, attracted by the smell, began to make its run towards it, accelerating up to Bullet release speed in order to reach its goal faster. Be careful though, because its running for a collision cause, and with A-Rank strength (Forget RP Name), it'll cause some pain.

Roxas waited till the last second, dangling a rib in the air in front of him. When the Ioprey was almost upon him he reacted at crashing ground speeds, letting the rib go and jumping out of the way. This would allow the Ioprey to take the food while leaving Roxas unharmed. Roxas would then lay a few pieces of ribs on the ground and attempt to sneak off past the Ioprey. He was making his way to the volcanic caves that Mt. Diablo was known for.

The Ioprey would snatch the ribs out of the air before crunching down on them with it's teeth savoring the taste briefly before cocking it's head to the side and moving over to get more of the ribs which were lying on the ground. It was hungry and currently it was too busy with the food on the ground to really want to try and chase a mobile target. So for that reason and the fact that Roxas was faster than it he would escape. After walking for a while he would stumble upon a unique formation of some sort however the low buzzing of insects could be heard from within it the formation itself was easily the size of a medium sized creature and was shaped like a cylindrical pyramid. Other than that nothing else was in sight however one could choose the investigate or just leave it alone it was completely up to Roxas.

Roxas heard the sounds before he noticed the mound. He would stop a good fifteen feet from it and roll his skates across the ground to send a slight vibration through it. Since the strange buzzing mound was touching the ground he could use it as a catalyst to see within it in order to know how dangerous it would be. This would also be useful in knowing how big of a birth he needed to give it before passing on. Once he had determined the threat he would give it a decent birth and would continue on his path. He needed to conserve his energy and so far he had done good, using other tactics to avoid fighting rather than wasting precious energy on tasks that could be easily avoided.

Upon the vibration passing through the structure it would become deathly quiet as all the noises coming from it would cease for about five seconds. Once that five seconds were up however the buzzing would increasing in volume drastically before the top of the structure would burst open and 10 Bnahabra would fly out looking for who exactly disturbed their nest each about the size of a basketball, nasty bugger's Bnahabra were due to their hostile temperament which only got worse when they felt their nest was threatened. They would move into the air before swirling around as they located the source of the disturbance two of them diving downward at bullet release speeds with the others following suit.

"Oh shit... Time to get out of here," said Roxas as he turned around and began moving slightly, before suddenly a blast of heat came out and he disappeared, reappearing thirty feet away facing the nest. He would then turn around and rush off at bullet release speeds away from the nest, back toward the direction he came. Hopefully the bnahabra would give up on the chase seeing as the disturbance was fleeing. Or perhaps they would continue the chase. Roxas didn't care which.

Thankfully the nest was heat poof similarly to the winged insect how else would they be able to live in the volcanic environment of the Land of Ash. The insects would split up the two in the front accelerating at top speed and would thrust their stinger's forward to impale Roxas on his shoulders. If they hit him he would feel a small but intensely painful burst of pain and they would withdraw to exchange with another two this would repeat as they would swarm around the poor academy student who was unfortunate enough to bother them. They were known to sting something over and over until it eventually got anapalytic shock and died or they died either one which came first.

As they went to sting him, they suddenly passed through the boy. The fake Roxas stuck his tongue out and waved goodbye before suddenly disappearing, the heat dissipating. This heat wasn't meant to bother them. It had been a means to create a mirage, a mirror image of the real Roxas who had gone in the opposite direction and had now disappeared within the mountainous area.

Roxas wiped his brow as he silently kept moving on, having successfully lured away the bugs with the decoy. He had done his research before coming here. He knew most creatures were immune to being bothered by the heat. But that didn't mean their eyes couldn't be tricked by a mirage. Roxas kept moving onward toward the volcanic area deeper within Mt. Diablo's terrain, looking for some Lava pool that might be the home of the creature he was looking for.

It seems the shinobi was quite the crafty one and he would successfully elude capture by those bothersome insect, he would continue on his journey this time coming across a small crack in the mountain a geyser of lava rushing out of it and splatters occasionally darting around the area. The area was beautiful in a deadly way and the crackling of the lava accompanied by some smoke completely concealed the creature that was taking a nap within the fissure. It had just finished eating a Ioprey that strayed to close to the fissure but then again it was a Uroktor and despite their scavenging habits they were competent combatants.

Roxas came to a halt as the vibrations created from the volcanic area transmitted a picture back to him. He smiled as he had found his target. Now he just needed to find a way to approach it without being killed. If he could possibly have it look into his eyes he might have a chance, but if not... Well, he would worry about it later. He looked through the smoke, using his reaction tiers and own vibration sensory to try and see through the naturally occurring smoke. With a nervous gulp, Roxas spoke. "Nice day today, isn't it?" He said, his body ready to whip into action any moment.
