Raw Materials

Raw materials comprise weapons, armor, puppets even consumables and as such are extremely essential to the site. While Shinobi are only knowledgeable on certain ones in order to purchase or assist in gathering, Civilians focus on locating, obtaining and manufacturing something worthwhile using these as their source. Most raw materials have properties which make them more valuable than others and that combined with relative frequency or how difficult it is to obtain, increases their value.

Each material type comes with Grades, the higher the Grade, the better the traits or the more traits the material has. Then there is Rank. For materials, Rank determines Amount or Volume of material, so the higher the rank, the more of that stuff you have.

Grade I-VII are normal materials. Anything Grade VIII+ is considered 'Unique' and thus will generally have unique traits or abilities associated with it.

Elemental materia is entirely unique in that its effects are determined by the element rather than any traits although it comes in a variety of different states and forms depending on the element.

(+) Each + means it gets either a boost to the speed of conduction, strengthens of the magnetic, corrosive, explosive, flammable or poisonous effect or ranks up the thing being amplified through it.
(-) Each - mans it gets either a penalty to the speed of conduction, resists the magnetic, corrosive, explosive, flammable or poisonous effect or ranks down the thing being amplified through it.

Metals, Rocks & Crystals
These come from the earth, either on the surface, in cave systems or by mining them deep underground. They are the most commonly used in weapons manufacturing due to their durability and malleability in comparison to the other types, however it is also due to their availability in large quantities and relatively low threat level while obtaining them.

Gems
Gems are a special classification of Raw Materials which have a deeper connection to the properties of various raw materials and thus are used as additives in the creation process of equipment or as substitutes for currency in situations where Xel or Niikos are not available.

Gems:

Creatures usually have unique attributes that can be shown through the parts that are taken off of them. Each creature size has various grades of materials that can be taken off of them, the larger the creature, the more likely it is that their parts will be of particular quality or have unique qualities or traits. God Beasts and Special Sub-species will have unique trait lists.

Variations, Mixtures & Alloys
Depending on the location and certain conditions such as pressure, heat, temperature and even time periods different variations of Raw materials can be found possessing some similar as well as even some completely different properties in comparison to the original raw material. Because of this they can be more or less expensive and are usually denoted by a color in front of their name to signify that they are a variation. Mixtures and Alloys are typically formed when combining two raw materials together and usually result in a stronger or weaker variant with a combination of some or all of the properties of the composites, certain raw materials have actually been singled out specifically for combinations while other are unable to be mixed with other things. Usually the best chance of combination results in things that are within the same Classification.
