Grounds Keeping

Mission:

Mika was given a rather basic Task, Break the Rubble. or well Large stones and the like in the Academy grounds, so that they could be used for Construction and other more useful tasks, and all in all that was a good Idea, if they didn't need them there better to put them to use, So she Headed out to where the Staff had told her the work she could do was.

When she got there Mika seen the pile of Rocks, there was one large one in among them and she smiled, it looked like it would be a fairly good workout, so she started to stretch she didn't want to strain herself after all, And then she set to work, Walking over to some of the smaller stones she took up a stance to better brace herself before she raised her fist and brought it down, she was expecting there to be more resistance then there was and she shattered the stone and toppled over from her follow through that she wasn't expecting to have gone anywhere, as she sat there a moment and looked at her uninjured fist, then to the shattered stone she looked back to her fist and smiled "Well that's definitive proof that my training is bearing fruit" she said happily.

She then Proceeded to continue smashing the stones, starting to take greater care though to make sure they were of usable size and shape and not just shattered stone pieces, she hadn't been expecting it the first time, but every time after that she was well expecting it and so didn't have the same mishap. She continued to carefully break the rock into workable and useful chunks, setting them aside by size, type of stone, and form, the shards and the like she collected as well and set them aside in their own piles, so that why they were organized.

Then she got to the massive stone and she looked up at it "Well here goes nothing" she said as she walked up to the stone and placed a hand on it's surface, she then started to walk around the boulder keeping her hand on it and getting a feel for it, and looking for any preexisting weak spots, after she did a full circuit around the boulder she nodded to herself.

She then Walked to one side of it, where there was a small crack and she raised her arm, pulling it back before striking the boulder, causing the Crack to get larger, she was being careful with her strength here, as she wanted to get this in as many good chunks as possible, and following fault lines on it would make this much easier. She then moved along the crack and struck again, once more the blow was measured and careful, and the crack grew even larger, she followed it once more and struck again, this time the crack made a complete circuit of the stone and she smiled as she lifted the chunk of stone away and put it to the side before returning to the boulder and looking for more faults.

It took her a little time to reduce the Boulder to workable and moveable chunks, but she finished and she smiled at the work done, it was well done.. except for the first stone due to her misjudging her own strength, she would have to remember to keep a good Gauge on it from now on, but other then that it was all done, so with that out of the way she headed back to turn in her mission.

mission:

Mika had gotten another task from the Instructors, something simple, she just needed to clean the grounds of weeds, that seemed easy enough, she could just look at it as another form of training just like with the stones, so with her work assigned she walked through the halls towards the training grounds where her assigned area was. and as she got out there she could see why they considered it a mission. There were a LOT of weeds in the area, she had to wonder if they let it get like this on purpose or if this was just due to this particular area not being as well used as the rest?

Ether way she had a task to do now and she was going to do it, so she looked around and looked at where everything was growing, looking for patterns she could move in to minimize the work and she smiled as she found a few, "Should I set a time limit and see if I can best my own time as I work?" she asked herself as she looked things over, Weeding this place wasn't going to be to hard, she had even found gloves to use in the supply closet but she didn't think she would need them really.

First she set the timer to three minutes, to see how many she could get, of course it was important to keep a bag on her so she didn't lose track of the Weeds and she miss picking one up and it simply root in the ground again over night or something, so she grabbed two bags from the ones she brought with her, and she started counting the time her in her head as she raced along one of the paths she had already planned, ripping up the weeds as she went.

one.. two.. three.. four.. five.. She counted in her head as she ran along, keeping low to the ground to reduce time wasted on bending over to reach the weeds, thankfully she was already rather short so it wasn't that hard to run in this manner, not for her anyway, Six... Seven... eight... nine... ten... She continued as she made a hard turn and used a hand to push herself off the ground to make the turn harder then she other wise could.

Her picking of the weeds continued for a while longer, till she hit the time limit and she flew over to where the supplies she brought with here were and she sat on the ground the bags she had used were nearly full in fact she had dropped a few which cost her time "Lets see... forty... not to bad... sixty weeds.. planning a path really does help" she said in a chipper tone as she tied off the bags and set them aside before grabbing three this time and dropping her time by a minute..

After the Time elapsed she stopped and counted, this time the extra bag prevented her from dropping any, and she had a more optimized path, and going the first time let her find out a more efficient means to pick the Weeds, and so as she sat there counting the weeds she smiled "Seventy, got better with less time" she smiled and she was ready to get up and go again... except when she looked around she realized she had actually gotten all the Weeds, Well that was unfortunate.

But at the same time her task was done, so she smiled and grabbed the tied off bags and headed back to report her mission complete

Mission:

Mika had been given another task by the staff.. well given was not really the right word, the school had a bulletin board with tasks the staff wanted done, that's where she had been getting her last few tasks, it felt better do be doing something rather then nothing, that and she could use each task as a means to train or some how better herself, and this task would be no different then how she viewed and used the others.

The task this time was for her to deliver the mail to the Teachers desks, and to take out the Garbage, not to mention water the plants that were inside the Academy and finally restock the small Fridges in the different dorms. Nothing to strenuous, and so Mika took the large pile of Mail and headed off to the offices of the instructors, walking in she started to dispense the mail, thankfully everyone had obvious desks, none of this stuff was anything that they would have to worry about, most was simply things like newsletters or the like so while there was a lot it was all clearly labeled as to who was meant to get it.

It took a bit still as she had to make sure it was all properly sorted tot he right person but other then that it wasn't that hard, She then left with to go to the Supply closet to grab the watering can and filled it, going around the Academy simply watering all the plants she came across, she wasn't the most knowledgeable about plants.. maybe that was something she could work on later as well? it was sure to come in handy after all especially if she had to go on a mission deep into the wilds. It was something to keep in mind as she went around the Academy making sure all the plants were watered.

As she Finished up and was on her way back to the supply closet she smiled, sure she could have done the plant and garbage all in one trip but that would have her carrying a ton of stuff and she wasn't about to do that at the moment, as she got back to the supply closet she put the watering can away and took out a few garbage bags and put them in her pockets before closing the door again and heading back through the Academy emptying out the Garbage's and changing the bags, she didn't need to change all of them, only a few had anything in them, and when she found ones that were low she would empty the dry bins into the other bins that had some food waste in them since the one didn't need to be changed if it was all dray waste like paper.

Eventually she finished changing all the garbage's and she headed out to where the Dumpsters were and tossed the Bags away before heading back in and return the Bags she hadn't needed to the supply closet.

Finally was the last task, restocking the Fridges in the dorms, this one was actually going to be a bit easier as each floor had their own supply closet with a cold box for perishables, so she could just take from each floors supply closet. So off she went to do just that.

Going floor to floor she took her time to see what was missing and then getting the stock from the supply rooms, it was mostly the juice and sodas that were missing, some had a lot of milk missing, but for the most part it was the things for quick snacks and the like rather then any of the other more filling things, she had to wonder though if the Academy allowed them to cook for themselves in the Cafeteria?

With all the Restocking done she headed back down stairs to report her tasks done.

Mission:

Mika walked tot he assigned classroom, inside was one of the instructors and she waved to them "Hello I seen the notice that you needed help Grading some pop quizzes?" she said, as she looked at the instructor.

The instructor nodded not really speaking much, they held out the answer key and as Mika took it they pointed to a side table with a bunch of the quizzes on it, the instructor already working on a stack themselves. "Got it, I'll get it done as soon as I can" she said in a chipper tone as she headed to the side table and took a seat, placing the answer key next to her she grabbed a pen and took the first test off the pile smiling to herself.

As she started to go through the test marking what was correct and what was wrong, she smiled, this may seem boring but she could use this as study material, some answers here were rather well thought out, while others were way off, it was interesting to read and when compared to the actual answers it highlighted the fact that a lot of people came to the same conclusion through different means, this was something she would have to remember when it came to working in groups, likely it will become more important later when she was trying to work with so many different people.

As she continued marking though she noticed some of the answers were getting rather erratic.. but still they were in line with most of the others, it's just some people skipped some questions and moved on to others, and never seemed to get back to them.. Perhaps they were running out of time? or they thought to answer the ones they were sure of first? Ether way by the looks of things the ones that took that little gamble ended up being more wrong then right, oh the questions they did answer were correct, but they ended up barely making a passing grade, but in most cases getting a failing grade on the test due to not having enough questions answered in total.

Time management issues then? That could be the reason, perhaps they had issues studying? or they were the types to learn by doing? it really did make her ask a lot of questions, then again perhaps the staff used these pop quizzes to find out who needed help in what? But then again the place as also being used as a sort of competition between the students, granted she didn't know how serious that competition was meant to be.

It took a few more hours of grading Mika took a moment to stretch and she looked at the Pile, most of it was gone now, only a few more remaining and she smiled, it wasn't hard work, just time consuming, but now most of the answers to this quiz were in her head after having to read them over and over again to make sure the student answered correctly. After a few more minutes she finished grading the last one and she stood up and carried the finished graded tests to the desk where the instructor was "Finished here you go.. and the Key" she said with a smile as the Instructor took a moment to give a quick glance over random ones from the pile, and he nodded approving of the job done and dismissed her

Mission:

Mika got the Mission notice from the board and headed down to the Cafeteria early, she wanted to make sure she was familiar with the set up before people arrived for get food it would help a great deal if things started to run out or she needed to grab extra of something. When she got there she started to look around, it seemed well made, though clearly it was designed for more a team to be working then a single person, but she could make do, just meant she had to work fast but not be so fast that it made a mess.

With that in mind she washed her hands and put on an apron as well as a tied her hair back using a large Bandana to keep her hair down, she also needed to do the same to her lower arms and legs due to the fluff there as well, finally she put her wings back and held them like that, thanking that she made her muscles stronger to allow to hold positions like this easier.

With that done she went through the work stations and looked through all of them, making sure she knew where all the supplies were in each station and moving them to make them easier more accessible in the event she needed them, she then started to check the Cupboards to see what was in there for use and while normally for someone her height the top shelf would be a problem Mika was able to simply fly up to see what was up there, and reach it easily.

With the checking and familiarization done, Mika found a handy book of procedures, and while she didn't have time to read the whole thing and then put it to use, she could go around and prep the things that were the most commonly asked for, which was easy to figure out due to the Ledger in the back as well, so putting up a sigh outside that said the limited menu and why she got to work making the food for the lunch rush that would be coming in.

Aside from the usual staples, Simple Sandwiches, a nice tomato soup, and a decent bit of meat, Mika had also made something her Family enjoyed, her especially, Cheese and Broccoli soup, and if no one wanted it? Well that just meant more for her, if someone did want some? Well then she maid enough for a few people and could make more if it was really popular. her personal match with it was a Ham with Cheese and chicken sandwich with Garlic and Onions, but that was her, and she did have those up for offer as well if anyone was feeling Adventerous.

Then the Lunch rush came, just after Mika finished getting everything set up and waiting at the center workstation, which was also the only Workstation with anything at it. When the others came in she stood to the side of the station and bowed to welcome them before going behind the station.... and only her antenna could be seen... she knew she forgot something.... "umm.. just a moment" she said as she ran off and grabbed a stepping stool from the supply closet in the back and then came back and put it behind the workstation so she could be seen over it properly.

From there on it was simply about serving people their food in a timely manner and getting them paid and moved on for the next person to get theirs, thankfully it seemed the ledger was right on what was favorited, and those that didn't want it had a few other options at least, not as much as usual mind, but enough difference to let them get something more agreeable to them, she even had a few people trying out the Family Soup and her personal Sandwich preference.

In the end the Lunch was well done if slightly chaotic, and Mika started the clean up, making sure everything was washed and put away, humming happily to herself as she put the Apron and bandana into the laundry chute and then headed out to report the work done.

Mission:

Having heard of the stomach issues due to the Lunch situation, Mika had seen the request for aid in the Infirmary, and so she headed down, now she wasn't capable of Any ninjutsu, and her medicine techniques were not something she could use on another person, but she could at least help monitor people and get things like clean cloths, changes of garbage, or getting things for the patience like water or some digestive cookies to make sure they at least didn't have empty stomachs, though she knew a few mundane remedies, though she doubted those would be considered or maybe were and were already being used?

When she got there she was informed as to her tasks, and it was what she figured they would be, though she did mention the mundane remedies her family used if they could be helpful, the Medical nin assured her that they were doing everything they could but it seemed more like it was simple food poisoning, the issue was just how many were affected. With that knowledge Mika set to work. It wasn't easy work, it wasn't clean work, but that's what the Medical apron and coverings were for, while the patients didn't have anything Contagious, the covers and the like were more for... sanitary reasons considering the affliction they all suffered.

So she moved around the place, fetching water, damp rags to help cool people off, she also took them Digestive cookies and treatment pills. When one of the people needed to be monitored Mika was set to do the task as she could inform right away while the trained medical nin were busy with other people who ether were just coming in, or were in the worst parts of the affliction.

Even though she was simply providing aide to the doctors themselves it was still stressful, having to constantly be moving, having to remember so many things, but Mika took it as a challenge, and as she was changing the sheets of a bed due to an unfortunate mishap, she tossed them into the Laundry Chute as directed by the staff and replaced everything before setting the end table up with a glass of water and a digestible, she thought to herself, if she couldn't handle this how was she supposed to handle assignments to medical tents and the like in the event they ever needed to have them?

With that in mind she continued working, making sure to even gather a few things for the Medical nin, drinks small snacks to keep them going, that was of course only when she wasn't kept busy with things, it was a long day though and at the end of it she stretched as she felt like she had kept up as well as could be expected. she may be unable to do any medical ninjutsu, but at the very least she could help with the mundane things, sometimes that's all that's needed to put someone at ease it would seem.

So with her Task done she removed the covers and put them into the Laundry Cute and left to go Report the mission.

Mission:

With another Task taken Mika headed for the Offices in the Academy, apparently there was a bit of a mess up and the files needed to be resorted, that didn't sound to bad, thankfully the Academy should have files all well documented and thus the sorting should be a rather easy task should it not? Well... then again while the Academy may work like a well oiled if sometimes Cranky machine, the Bureaucracy behind it might be a massive lumbering beast that Labored to breath... it was after all overseen by a combination of all five members of the Republic after all.

On getting to the Office Mika was directed to a desk where a massive pile of  paperwork was set for sorting, nodding she headed over, and she was easily dwarfed by the massive pile, even if she stood on the table she would still be fully hidden behind the piles of paperwork.. This would have made going through them bothersome but Thankfully Mika had her ways. though before she took flight she went around asking if she could and if it wouldn't be a bother to everyone, most were fine with it as it just meant using paper weights.

So with the okay given and the heads up to others also delivered Mika took to the air to start her work, Staying aloft the whole time as she first looked through the piles of papers to find ones that are meant to be filed under the same heading, and putting them in the same area for later more detail sorting. This was crucial as it meant easily moving things around the separate piles into correct order before returning them to the proper filing cabinets some would see it as a waste of time, but this way more time was saved from running around here and there and then reordering once things were in the correct place.

Once the separate piles were done and made to be a height Mika could manage without having to fly, Mika took a seat and started to sort through the separate piles, Taking blank paper and noting where they should be filed as she started to sort through the piles, so they would be in proper order that was required for each section.. it was taking a long time granted, but there wasn't a time limit on the work and it was better it get done right rather then fast.

As the Piles where fully ordered Mika smiled and stretched a bit as she got up and started taking the piles of Paper work, in their proper order, to the cabinets they were meant to be in, and she started to slide them in, being careful not to lose any or misplace them. this part took the shortest amount of time due to everything already being in order and sorted into separate parts. So as the sun started to get low in the Sky Mika managed to finish the task she was requested and she smiled looking to the now ordered files and she nodded before going to report her mission done.

mission:

Entering the Library, which was the place for the next little task she accepted, Mika smiled, the smell of books being one she quite enjoyed, some of them were old, she could tell by the scent alone. Walking in she smiled to the librarian and explained her reason for being there, the Librarian nodded and directed her to the back room where she showed Mika the books that needed work and the supplies to rebind or rescroll them. She then sat With Mika for a few minutes showing her how to do both, thankfully it was all Mundane work so it was something Mika could actually do.

With that out of the way the Librarian returned to her work and Mika started on hers, their wasn't a massive amount of books or scrolls to work on, but the work had to be done carefully, so Mika started to work on the books first as they would take the longest, She started by carefully undoing the ties on the spine of the book, making sure to set them aside for now and she slipped the covers off, both front and back, before lifting the pages and carefully tapping them to keep them in order, she then slipped out the Leather spacers used to prevent the bindings from damaging the paper. After that was done she then placed them gently on the new cover and slipped new Leather Spacers into the holes of the papers before she closed it and slipped the new ties in to secure the book properly, she would then check the fit and the security of the ties carefully, and once all that was done she nodded to herself and set it aside.

She repeated this several times, there being more books that needed this done then scrolls, so she continued her slow methodic work on the books, the pile dwindling slowly as the pile of used covers and ties grew, they would likely be used for other things, nothing important obviously, but they wouldn't just be scrapped, so keeping them was a good Idea. As she finished the last book, Mika put them all in the corner, to show they were done and she returned to the table to begin working on the scrolls.

The Scrolls would be easier, but not less complex, the Parchment was still good, all she had to do was slip it out of the cloth covering that was the Scroll body, this acted to protect the parchment and give it a bit more strength, but of course that lead to the Cloth absorbing most of the damage that the parchment would have, so first she was required to unroll the whole thing, along with the new cloth beside it, and she would then simply and carefully slip the Parchment off the old Cloth and onto the new, slipping the edges of the parchment into the protective sleeves that would hold it steady inside the cloth, with that done she had to carefully roll the whole thing back up and secure it with a new rope.

With this done once, she just had to continue to do it till all the scrolls were finished, and once again the cloth was saved for use in something else, so she took the used cloth and put it neatly in the pile with the remains of the books and ties, and then gathered the Scrolls and placed them with the finished books on the corner table.

With all her work done here Mika smiled and had the librarian inspect the work, with her approval Mika headed back to report on the job.

mission:

The task this time around was simply to restock the supply closets on each floor, and Mika happily took the mission and headed first to the top floor dorm to look through their Supply closet to see what was in need of restocking there, having a list of what was in need of being replace and what didn't would make this task a lot easier by the simple expedient of knowing how much of what Items to grab and bring up in the trolley, that way she could pack the Trolley efficiently and do this all in one trip, also once she was done taking note of what was needed she could refill them from the top floor first that way as she got farther down if it turned out she couldn't fit everything into the Trolley in the first trip it would be a shorter trip down and back up to the remaining floors.

So with that in mind she started to take stock, Cleaning supplies, towels, Sanitary items, dry snacks...  dry snacks? She looked and indeed it seemed that the secondary supply closet, the one that didn't have the cleaning supplies and the like in it, was a dry pantry, that was a good use of space. So she noted those down as well, as she continued her task. She continued like this Floor by floor taking stock of what was low and on what floor and what quantity would be needed to get back to full, ten students on one floor could really go through supplies it seemed. ans so the list grew with each floor.

The items they were running out of was different though, the Dorms with more females tended to need more in the way of towels, Sanitary items, and the like. the one with more boys tended to need more snacks.. then she found an odd note in one of the pantries that simply said 'please add lube to supply closet' and she raised an eyebrow at reading that, but then she shrugged and figured maybe someone had a chaffing problem?

As she finished all the floors she got down to the main floor once more and she headed to the main storage room, once inside she grabbed the Trolley and started to load it up with all the things she would need starting with the top floor, but as she went floor by floor it was obvious that she would need to make two trips to get everything needed for the lower floors, so with that figured out she didn't try to cram things onto the Trolley and instead just made sure she had enough to cover the first three floors, with that she headed out.

Getting back to the top floor she started to restock the Supply closet of what was missing, also taking note of what was used up faster for supply ordering later, it wasn't the task she was assigned granted but she could ask if they wanted the information after her mission was done.. she then giggled and wondered if she could offer to sell them the information she gathered on her mission? she doubted that would go over well but she was tempted to try regardless....

As she finished the top three floors she returned tot he Supply room with an Empty trolley and started to fill it with the things needed for the remaining floors, and she was back up again, as she filled out the supply closets and the Dry pantries she left a note in the one Supply closet 'Supply requests should be made to the staff in person thank you for the heads up though :)' The note was friendly and meant for the person that left the note about lube.

Finally she was done, and so she took the trolley back to the storage room and then headed to the Staff offices, and she decided to try the whole "sell you info gathered on mission" think... see how it went over.
