Blood upon the Sands [Ichibi Attack]

Qeynan had taken to walking the walls at night, they liked watching the stars in the sky, charting them and tracking their current locations. They did it when they couldn't sleep, or to keep their mind occupied or when they were bored or when none of these things were true. It was a nice pass time, even tonight when a sandstorm had overtaken the village and made it nearly impossible to see anything other than the moon.

They had contented themselves with simply reading, situated under an umbrella that worked hard at keeping the sand at bay. But then a massive crash pulled them out of their revere. It was followed by screams and blaring alarms, all coming from the direction of the Refinement Zone. With a few quick hand motions, Qeynan's things were packing themselves away quickly as they moved to the edge of the wall, trying their hardest to peer through the sand to see what the commotion was.

Then there was more rumbling, this time from the direction of the Commodity Zone. Shinobi ran across the wall behind them, with shouts of a name Qeynan remembered well: Shukaku. It wasn't just because they had an eidetic memory, the tales of the Bijuu had burned themselves into their mind from a young age. Forces of nature with a mind of their own an a penchant for destruction. And now one was attacking them. Qeynan grit their teeth and turned quickly, running for the stairs down into the village proper Time to get back into the swing of things. First up: helping people evacuate.

Event Details:

Qeynan's rush to the stairs came at a good time as moments later the portion of the wall that he had been walking on was impacted by the broken form of three ANBU members. They would seemingly try to take a breather and patch up their body unfortunately it seemed that their injuries were too severe and with a shuddering gasp they would breathe their last. At the base of the stairs Qeynan would see three other genin who were trying to get civilians to safety as the walls were quite vulnerable, one of them would turn to him before motioning for him to come help her lift a piece of rubble off of some shopkeeper's legs before the situation got more dangerous.

On the other hand time was running out while the Itamikage was battling Shukaku with the aid of the Kohai ANBU, their battle was spilling past them and towards the walls. In a few moments it was likely that dangerous techniques would start raining down from above, while these genin tried to save the civilians it was rather risky to stick around and not continue deeper into the village. To that end there wasn't a clear path as more elite shinobi seemed to be taking towards the rooftops to join in the fight with Shukaku, while panicked civilians were screaming and running through the streets. It was a real hectic thing to stop and try to rescue some risking being trampled or crushed by debris or attacks from above.

Event Details:

Qeynan's self preservation instincts started to kick into overdrive, but they knew better than to just leave someone to die. Not if they wanted to keep their job at least. They stopped by the girl with a nod, moving their body in a smooth, dance-like motion. It was odd, but with it they hoped to help the girl lift the piece of rubble off the shopkeeper. If the technique wouldn't move the rubble completely, it would at least make it light enough for it to be moved off and to the side. If they could get the shopkeeper free, they would help the girl carry the shopkeeper towards safety, if they couldn't they would simply move on and look for someone who could be of more assistance.
