Kobold Den

The past while had been... Noisy. Koboshiv was not a fan of such a thing. Since being born the noises had bothered him, the crunch and the cries and the screams. He grumbled loudly but he had come of age to actually start doing things of his own. Usually he would have to go out and hunt, survive and fight but it would seem like there was a group that had taken command and were actually... Helping everyone. Such was curious. Despite this, he still fed as though there wasn't a guarantee of safety but his feeding wasn't to get in fights, it was to wait for openings, for when a Kobold or two was distracted before snapping in as fast as he could to take what he could grab and then retreating. It was safer when no one really knew what happened.

Speed and silence were the two goals for the moment, they kept him safe, they kept him away from the bigger kobolds and the angrier ones, they were the noisiest after all. Now that he was free to start moving amongst the rest, he'd use this as an opportunity to watch and learn, attempting to stick to the dark, moving as quiet as he could to get close to the Alpha so he could watch her. Where did her strength come from?

Koboren woke up to the sight of the youngest Kobold creeping around again, for quite a while she didn't know if he was going to survive though fortunately due to Kobotia's rules pups got fed first so they let him think that he was being sneaky and taking food. Still now he seemed like he was old enough to be considered a Kobold like the rest of them and such she would make sure to inform him that such things were punishable by their Alpha if he continued trying to act like he wasn't apart of the pack. Unfortunately contrary to his belief he wasn't sneaky at all and the rest of the Kobolds just let him pretend he was because he was still a pup. "Hey um you there, Why you no ask hunter for help sneak?. Now that you grow, you add to pack!" she said cupping her hands around her snout to pitch her voice loud enough to startle him into noticing her voice.

Kobotia would wake with a yawn stretching her body left and right before scanning her surroundings as it seemed like her fellow Kobolds were starting to stir now she would extract herself from the pile of bodies and move to where they kept the remaining (Lesser) Spirit Stones picking up an extra one and staring at it. She knew that somehow this thing worked in a way she didn't understand and honestly it had been bothering her for a while as she observed it. She knew whatever she did observe about it was only scratching the surface and thus she would try to feel what was inside of it closing her eyes so that she could focus on truly "feeling" it. Hopefully it would do something but she knew that water coming out of a stone wasn't normal and thus there had to be something more to it, it was important knowledge to gain and hopefully she could figure it out. Kobold were after all quite smart, so it was no stretch that she thought perhaps she could use this to learn something new.

She would realize that the water stone took a lot of “seal work” to get the current result, yet this magic stone still had 26 use left in it, but the main thing she noticed about these magic some is that despite it being an actual stone it was one that could be Eaten. She would have the chance to eat the magic stone and potentially gain access to a new type of organic barb called aqua barb. When she attempted to feel the energy inside it was pretty moist and uncontrollijg similarrvof that of a kobold.

Kobotia's eyes would widen as she discovered how Kobokana had managed to change her organic barb but she wasn't that interested in trying that, at least not yet perhaps she would try at some point though she fully intended on putting one of her claimed organic barbs into her tail rather than her own when it was time to rank up. As such she would put the Lesser Water Spirit Stone back and she would go to the different piles inspecting them to see where they were at. She had instructed them to have different piles and right now they had four due to not having enough weapons or armor to start storing them in a pile, namely the Meat Pile, the Ore Pile, the Vege Pile and the Danger Pile. Each pile was specific, Meat being where they put what they got from hunting, Ore being where the Diggers stored whatever rocks or ore they dug up, the Vege being where the Foragers stored edible plants they gathered and finally the Danger Pile where they put anything they didn't know much about so that Koboren could observe them and record what they could do on the wall in Kobogrammy's former room.

This would give her squad time to wake up and she was happy to see that they were all good as today was going to be a big day, she planned on heading north this time. "Alright, we have a little bit of back food but we need to do a bit more, Foragers I need you to look for food as well as plants which aren't food. Diggers keep doing what you are doing in expanding our den hopefully you'll be finished with making the other rooms soon. Hunting Party Beta, we are heading north today so maybe you can head to the East or South, still if Kobolala decides to head somewhere else follow her lead." she commanded so as to set up various tasks for today.

Koboshiv hissed loudly at the shout and jumped, snapping around before glaring at the Kobold that had shouted at him. Perhaps he wasn't quite as sneaky as he thought he was. He rushed over to Koboren and leaned in real close, staring at her. "Shhhh! Noise is bad!" He told her with a huff before scampering a few feet away and thinking. It was a good idea though, turns out learning to sneak on your own was pretty hard. There were others that knew how to sneak though! Some were leaving on a Hunting Trip and he wasn't suicidal so he wasn't going to join them just yet. Instead he'd find a different hunter and watch them closely for a few moments before shifting in. "Teach me how to sneak? Quiet is good, yes." He said simply, shuffling his hands in front of him. He wasn't sure of this one's name but he'd learn, he'd learn everything in the end.

Koboling was humming to herself while waiting for Kobolala to wake up and wasn't interested in going over the events of yesterday with Koborou and Kobovon because while the former was a good back-up leader the latter albeit being cute talked way too much about stuff. Sure he was smart, smarter than her she thought at least she much preferred the simple life of hunting and carving not trying to put stuff together or making "traps" even though none of Kobovon's ideas had worked yet. So when a random Kobold would walk up to her before asking her to teach him she would look at him before shrugging. "Haha you finally decided to ask Koboling for help sneaky Koboling is best in Beta Party." she said before getting up and stretching a bit before motioning for him to follow her. "First it's good to transition from walking on two legs to moving on all four you can keep your organic barb in your tail so it's not in the way. Then you gotta walk like this so paws don't make much noise." she said trying to show him how to walk. Despite her easy-going nature or perhaps due to it Koboling was a pretty good teacher and Koboshiv would find it easy to learn the skill that he found difficult to learn on his own.

Koboshiv made sure to watch carefully and understand what was happening as best as his young mind could. He then shook himself out and went down onto all fours and started to follow Koboling's movements, although slower than her as she was a bit more confident with this. He made sure to watch where he was stepping and to occasionally nudge something out the way that would cause noise if he stepped on it. After a few minutes of moving around like this he nodded to himself. "Much quieter, yes. Very good."

With that done he then sat and started to think for a few moments. "Being... Quiet is good. What about being seen? Has anyone hid body yet?" He said, clipping his words and sentences so he had to talk as little as possible. "Cover in dirt? Lie down? Hard to see." Koboshiv said to Koboling, wondering if she had done anything like that or if she had only learned how best to move around quietly. He'd already decided he was going to head out on the next Hunting expedition he could to learn more.

"Ew, that would ruin fur!. Hard enough to get blood out." Koboling said shaking her had before looking at Koboshiv like he was strange but if he wanted to do that then it was more power to him but she wouldn't be helping him with such an odd thing. "If you like play with dirt, talk to diggers okay?" she said pointing to a group of Kobolds who seemed to be walking deeper into the den. Two of them would stand out due to being in front of the others and were animatedly talking to each other with wild gesticulations much to the laughter of the remaining Digger Party members.

Was clean fur truly the way to survival? Koboshiv considered that for a few moments before shaking his head. "Many thanks for training, will now practice." He told Koboling before he reached down and started to dig up some dirt, rubbing it into his fur to darken the light brown and help him blend into the shadows of the cave. With that done he then moved down onto all fours and started to slowly pick his way across the Den towards the diggers, making sure to be as quiet as he possibly could, following Koboling's instructions. He was aiming just to sneak in close enough that he could hear what the diggers were talking about before he surprised them and asked them about their own skills and how they used dirt.

Koboshiv would manage to sneak up to them all but one of them not noticing him until he wanted to speak as a result one of the two co-leaders would turn and hold up his hand to pause the conversation when he saw Koboshiv creeping up on them. "Whatcha need Kobo!" Kobodett said dusting off her hands whereas the other three would jump up slightly as they weren't expecting to see Koboshiv behind them. Koboyan would interject after that pointing at Koboshiv accursedly Yan doesn't like being sneaked on! Almost gave Yan grey fur. he said before puffing out his cheeks in annoyance and tapping his food impatiently waiting for Koboshiv to reply to Kobodett's question.

Once noticed, Koboshiv would scamper forwards on all fours so he was part of the group before looking to Kobodett. "Wanting to know about hiding and dirt! Using dirt to darken fur and blend in or using things around. Branches and leaves?" He nodded a few times as he thought over things and brought his water stone up, nibbling on it to get some of the moisture out of it. "Yan should learn to watch! Sneaking is good for survival!" Koboshiv responded before giving a small laugh. "If no ideas on hiding, then was looking to learn digging! Could make holes and jump out to surprise!" With his needs stated, he sat down to watch them and see if they had any other ideas that he could use, he couldn't really think of other uses for holes or digging just yet.

Kobodett looked thoughtful at Koboshiv's suggestion as she and the rest of the diggers didn't mind getting some dirt on them or in their fur since worst case they could just a Lesser Water Spirit stone to wash up. "Hmm nope dunno bout anything but digging can teach ya if ya want but teach something too later yes?" Kobodett said waiting for Koboshiv's response whereas Koboyan would huff and begin walking away as he was only interested in digging and not sneaking around after all it wasn't important for a Kobo like him to have to hide he'd be safe in the cave and had the hunters to protect him. The others would wave bye to Koboshiv before following after him as clearly Kobodett was going to remain back to teach him if he agreed to her deal.

"Yes yes! Going to practice sneak, be the sneakiest, very quiet, kill fast. Will teach new things to others, you first for helping, yes." Koboshiv nodded happily and then moved back a bit to watch what Kobodett was going to do, he wasn't exactly sure if they were in the training area or going somewhere else. Either way, until Kobodett started to properly show him how to dig, he'd get low on his stomach and shuffle around to get himself covered in dirt, making sure that he was blending in as best he could to the surroundings of the cave. He'd have to learn how to do it to different locations but it was good to learn the basic idea behind it first! Once he was a bit dirtier he pushed himself against the floor and shuffled around quietly. "Is harder to see Koboshiv yet? Or is dirty for no reason?" He asked, glancing up towards Kobodett.

kobotia would notice that the poison pile was the lowest since it was practically empty, next was the ore pile since they had added a piece of iron and aluminum to it last night, the next was the vege pile since they were carnivores they didn't know the sweet everlasting flavor the nuts and berries carried, finally was their meat supply which was a real shock since they had a feast with flavorful meat; the reserve for the pups were hardly touched.

Kobotia would nod before turning to her hunting party and getting excited for the potential hunt, today they would be heading into an area that they hadn't discovered before so they were bound to find some interesting things. "Come on let's head out!" she said before stepping out of the Den with Koboalpha, Kobosnek & Kobodirk each of them geared up and ready to bring back some meat for the rest of the pack. Today the forager leader would decide to teach the remaining members of her group the forage skill before heading out to forage, whereas the Digger Co-Leaders would try their best to find more ore.

Kobobett would nod before bending over and digging in place to try and show him how to do it, it was pretty basic though when Kobodirk got down it seemed as if he was pretty bad a digging with his claws hurting a bit after doing it though it didn't seem like he got really hurt maybe his claws were just sensitive or something. Still when he put the dirt on his body it would actually make him harder to see when one looked at him while he crouched low causing Kobobett to whistle as it was pretty interesting.

Digging was a lot harder than Koboshiv thought it would be and after attempting it, he'd spend a fair amount of time whining softly on the ground, clutching his hands to his chest. Once the pain had stopped though he got up and looked to Kobodett. "Many thanks, digging... Not for Koboshiv, not yet. Must go out and learn more, help the family, find food." He gave Kobodett a smile and a nod. "Once learn more, will come back, teach you for your help, very good yes." With that done he then dropped low and scampered off to follow the hunting group that had just left.

When he was fairly close and could keep them visible he laid low and started to sneak along behind them, keeping his movements quiet in this new world. If he burst out and helped them with a monster, it would surely show them that he was useful, or perhaps he'd find something shiny while he moved? Who knows, either way... It was time for Koboshiv's first adventure!

The first thing Kobotia did when she returned was to use a Lesser Water Spirit Stone to wash her fur so that she could be clean as she wasn't a fan of keeping the blood on her, truthfully she should tell the others that hunted to do the same and thus decided to speak up. "From now on wash up after a hunt, keeping the scents lingering on your fur from outside is just asking for something to come to our den." Kobotia commanded her returning hunting party. She would then wave to attract Koboren's attention while moving over to the meat pile so that she could begin to carve the Stamp Stoat she had killed. "So tell me what did everyone bring in today, do we have enough or will we have to go hunting again tonight." she said as she was trying to carve herself a helmet as she had become aware of her weakness to head injures due to the last hunt.

"Kobotia, the digging party was able to get 2 iron, 1 zinc, and a rock from their digging." koboren spoke fast quickly as she could get kobotia up to date on the other parties "our forages had a good harvest from the forest they were able to collect the 6 berries and 2 nuts, I took the liberty to observe them... so I know the forest did us pretty good today." she continued hoping that kobotia caught up on the information she was giving her.

Koboshiv scratched his chin for a few moments but decided that Kobotia's advice was good, he'd just need to reapply camouflage whenever he went out. So he took out his spirit stone and used it to wash the mud and leaves from his fur before scampering over to where the Hunting Party was, making sure to leave the Horned Foal nearby and stepping up next to Kobotia. "Hello, yes. I was the one to follow Hunting Party, kill animal." He said to her simply, glancing over at the Horned Foal before looking back. "Could show me how to take apart animal for good things? Good at sneaking but never killed before, don't know how to get shiny things out of animal." He said, miming her motions with what she was doing to the body of the Stamp Stoat.

"Good good, what about Kobolala? Did they bring back anything useful?" Kobotia said inquiring about her Beta's hunting party before using Observe to scan the cave to see if she could spot them and if she did she would try and wave over Koboling to come assist her with the carving of the meat. Her actions would be slightly interrupted by the arrival of Koboshiv though it didn't seem to get in the way of her carving the Stamp Stoat. "Huh, ah yes bring the Horned Foal here, I'll show you a trick. Somethings you can get more of a use out of. for instance you see that horn if you get a rock and break it off you can have a weapon and then when you carve it you can have something to wear too. It also helps if you have a proper tool to help you with it, I prefer using one of my organic barbs because I'm most familiar with them" Kobotia said as she made the [I[observation[/I] that Koboshiv was very much interested in learning more about carving so that he could kill things better.

"Likewise, if you have another Kobo assist you with carving you can focus on getting one thing while the other Kobo focuses on getting another thing." Kobotia said and if he got her hint of wanting to teach him by working with him to carve up the Horned Foal she would do just that working on the skull area while giving him a good starting point to try and separate it's hide intact. "If you are able to take off it's hide, put it on the ground that way we can put the meat on top of it so the ground doesn't get too soaked with the blood." she explained as best she could as it was important to her to make sure their food wasn't put on the ground as they walked on it and it would allow them to keep it safe for when they wanted to feast.

Listening to what Kobotia told him, Shiv immediately moved away and grabbed the carcass of the Horned Foal before hefting it up and carrying it over, it was pretty damn heavy though and he was only just able to get it over and put it down before he dropped it. With that done he watched intently as she carved away at it, noting where she was hitting for the most meat and tapping his own chin. "Areas with less meat would be best for attack, yes? Lots of stuff in way, hit areas not defended." He mumbled to himself as he looked around.

It was only a couple seconds until he noticed the ore pile and dashed off, grabbing a rock from it but not one of the shiny ones, those would be valuable. He then returned and attempted his damn best to use the rock on the base of the Foal's horn so he could snap it off and get the biggest weapon he could. He knew it would be great for stabbing things and he did have two hands... What if he used his barb AND the horn at the same time! The idea caused him to gasp loudly even as he continued to work. He was a genius!

"Kobolala dedicated to the den by cleaning up and searching deeper in the den, surprisingly she'd yet to return from her journey down there" koboren announce, kobotia eyes would search endlessly and to no avail would she be able to find koboling, but that only ment that their group was out hunting and unable to return at the moment.

It was great that kobotia dedicated sometime to helping the youngster of the den, it would show the other kobolds her caring and kind nature even if she was a bit of a tyrant sometimes. while using her organic barb she was able to come out with a decent tier 0 helmet from the carve a small tier 0 gloves with weakened durability due to showing and monitoring koboshiv, however due to this koboshiv was able to gain a sweet tier 0 coat similar to kobotia which had full durability and short blade.

Kobotia would inspect the helmet before shrugging as it wasn't the best but it was large enough to fit over her head and not obstruct her vision so she was okay with that. Still it didn't seem like he got it really but either way he still managed to get some stuff with her assistance which was good at least. Still it was time to eat though she would wait for Koborou, Kobovon & Koboling to come back from their morning hunting before getting up and projecting her voice so that the others could hear her. "It's time to eat, everyone get over here for our feast!" Kobotia commanded and sure enough she knew all of her pack would end up converging to begin the meal. It was a little scarce but that was why she had gotten extra food from yesterday to help cushion the blow. Still the youngest Kobold of the group really was pulling his weight, she would need some more feats of success but if he continued doing well she might make him her second Beta after all she had always intended to have two a male and a female.

This would keep the power structure in a pyramid, Alpha singular, Pair of Betas, a select group of Gammas, leaving other designations for what particular group you belonged to. Perhaps she would have Hunters & Foragers would jointly share Delta whereas Diggers & Breeders would jointly share Epsilon, with Pups as Zeta. She did however enjoy the designation Omega for those Kobold's who were not apart of the pack, and they'd share that with any non Kobold, after all they were not pack and thus were only a step away from food or breeding supplies.

Koboshiv spent a few moments holding his barb and his new short blade at the same time, the weight of both weapons together felt good. He could attack even more now, maybe strike with both at the same time for a particularly dangerous blow if he was able to get the enemy by surprise and considering how sneaky he had been on the excursion... That might be easier than he thought. Due to his thinking, and putting on the new coat Kobotia had help him carve out, he didn't notice everyone moving towards the food until a bit later.

His head snapped over and he put his barb away in his tail, holding his short blade in his mouth so he could crouch low and sneak over to the food. He was still only just out of being a pup and his old sneaking instincts came back to him, there was still a bit in the back of his head telling him that others might try and fight him for food after all. Thus he'd properly sneak this time over to the food to grab what he was allowed to and then slink off, he made sure to take only as much as the others, taking too much was likely to get him in trouble with the older, scarier Kobolds after all.

Once he'd eaten his fill, he knew what he had to do. Taking both of his weapons out, he would spend the rest of the night, before heading to sleep, practicing with both weapons to try and get a proper feel for them and to learn exactly how to strike and move with them. It might take him a while to get it but he knew he would eventually.

the hunting party beta would return with their trophy of victory in hand, koboling walked in den leading the way for koborou and kobovon who carried a human in hand. kobrou had its legs while kobovon had its arms "i'm assuming I'm the winner of today's hunt" She joked to kobotia, well that was until she seen the trophies kobotia and koboshiv brought. she'd simply rub koboshiv's head with an astonished look "Which one did you kill?" she questioned to him before sitting down beside him and carve the human they'd killed while listening to the story, she would slowly carve the skin off the human while watching every word that can out of his mouth.

she would put the human torso armor (tier 0 - full durability) on the ground, her interest in the story would shift to the food that he was commanded to eat with the other kobolds."that's amazing, so what did you get from it?" she questioned to him before he decide to use sneak, she'd just shrug her shoulders and move to eat with the other kobolds.

After eat koboshiv's attempt to learn to use both of his weapons ended up being easier done then the actually though of doing it, he would go to sleep after successfully learn how to properly use both hands with a weapon
