Calesto would yawn as he made his way towards the portion of the arena where his team and team 9 would have their fight, the heat in the the arena was so thick that he could almost take a bite of the hot air with each breath. "You'd think the kage would pay for a decent air conditioner instead of his singing skills" He would say stretching a bit as as he waited for his team arrived at the location specified, his nose picking up the three scents of his opponents which he had met during the funeral just over a month ago. This would make the fight a hell of a lot easier as his nose would be able to locate his targets no matter what they would throw at him, and with the skills of his team mates he was almost certain that they would win this fight no problem. Once his team would arrive he would wrap his arm across Liara's should so it would be easier for her to merge with him, while doing the same with takeshi, well Kind of. he would just make his arm hover in the air where Takeshi's shoulder were placed, and smiled while examining the other team. "Well I hope we can all have a good match, I'd prefer not having any team mates die as I'm sure you three are more than use to at this moment"

Well, this is it. They had somehow managed to make it past the previous rounds and now here they were, the grand finale, well sort of. Takeshi had already ensured that he had retrieved the seals he had used earlier in the preliminary round and had placed two seals on the entrance wall before he arrived inside the arena and had also placed one to the left of where Calesto was standing. Though it probably wasn't enough considering the overall size of arena itself, he would hold off with placing more tags for the time being.

Real smooth Calesto.” Takeshi said under his breath after hearing the words of his teammate. It was obvious that he was looking to unsettle his opponents but saying such a thing was a tad bit too soon and if Takeshi of all persons thought that was a dick move then he was pretty sure someone on the opposing team is going to lose their shit over that comment. Twirling the flute he had created during the preliminaries he would wait for a reaction.

"Calesto...thats not nice, you shouldn't ....tease people about their singing."  Liara would say, slightly sounding calesto as she followed him and Takeshi. She wondered how this fight was going to go down, and she wasn't too sure what to make of the other team. She wanted to pass, but at the same time, she didn't want to hurt  the other people too bad. they all still had a future like she did, something to hope for. "Ok, Takeshi, Calesto... no matter...what,... i trained this hard so i won't hold you guys back. So, i'll do the best i can, i promise. "  Liara was still a bit squirmish, but she was trying to be confident. " As soon as Calesto put his am over her, Liara tapped her face twice and nodded her head. " Ok..... focus.." And just like that, Liara slipped in just as easily inside of calesto using her parasite technique.

Nyen would walk into the area first before her team, she was thankful that the entrances were more towards the middle sure reasonably apart, about twenty-five or so feet give or take five, but mainly because it allowed a quick shift of terrain if need be. She would enter from the wasteland side, if only because salt water lake involved water walking and she didn't fancy getting soaking wet. Her hands were still folded and when she got into position she wouldn't say anything though Calesto's comment did actually upset her. Her response was to pop open the cover of her gourd and move one of her hands to catch it, unsealing her Galvorn particles which would spill out around her body while the iron sand flowed around her. It was only after doing that, then she'd speak to reply to his comment her face still stoic though inside she was hurt by his comment and it did cause her to look at him in a more negative light.

"I don't know if you were trying to say something to upset us, but it's really cruel to make light of other people's misfortunes." Nyen said just loud enough that it was above a whisper and she would fold her arms once again letting her gourd cover drop and hang by it's string. Initially she was going to be friendly they had been teammates on that faithful mission so even if it was a promotion thing she wasn't going to be trying to hurt them too badly, even still with his comment she wasn't going to she didn't want to kill people that she didn't have to. She'd save the need to kill for those from Pandora and those who tried to take more of her friends from her other than that she'd just beat them up and leave it at that.

Now however she was offended so she wouldn't be as nice as she was going to be earlier that was for sure and maybe even someone as insensitive as Calesto would realize he upset her with how she glared at him staring him down with her eyes.

Colt walked into the arena behind Nyen, looking around at the waste that spread before them. He fanned himself lightly with his hand before sighing "A desert. Why is always somewhere no one wants to be? Why couldn't it be a field of flowers and butterflies? Or a moonlit grove?" He shook his head and rolled his eyes "On the bright side, maybe some chick will be sweating so much she'll need to take off her shirt..." After saying this, he looked off at the stands around them wistfully, hoping that this would come true.

He stopped dead at Calesto's words, though. His face adopted a blank look that would most likely be much more unsettling than the blind rage the boy should've displayed at the comment. He looked at Nyen as she spoke then back to the Kurogane "Yes, R'tari died saving the life of his comrades and ending the life of a very dangerous enemy. Much more valiant than passing out and letting one of your allies get their arms blown off, don't you think?" His voice was calm and level, betraying none of the pure rage that he was feeling inside. Colt had some semblance of honor, despite his every day activities, so he wasn't going to try to kill Calesto. He was just going to hurt him. Really, really badly.

Colt pulled out one of his yo-yos, his black Plus, and slipped the loop onto his right middle finger. He flicked it out and let it roll downwards before bouncing back up. He caught it before looking back up at Team 8 with a smile "Let's try to have some fun alright guys?" He kept up the smile, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. He was ready to get this started. He really wanted to smash in Calesto's face. As sort of a last minute thought, he tapped his chest with the back of his left hand, lightening himself in order to move faster.

Spoiler:

Calesto would grin as the two members of team 9 would respond to his little jab, which for him meant that he had gotten under their skin. To be honest he did feel bad about the comment as everyone had felt some sort of pain and anguish during the retrieval mission, however the guy who had decided to speak out had nothing to do with the mission so to be honest he didn't really care what he had to say. "At least someone showed up instead of staying home furiously masturbating, Or you know ditching your woman when she needed you most. However that's none of my business" Calesto would say as he made a set of hand seals in order to cover their portion of the arena in a mist, he had hoped that these kids didn't have any means of sensory techniques which would only make things easier for him, then again how was he to know if they did or did not, guess he would just have to trust in his own abilities in combat as well as shit talking."Stay close Takeshi, unless you have a plan" Calesto would say to Takeshi while he would rush towards Colt at Bullet speed as quietly as he could bringing up his Skeletal Guard and his Claws in order to set up for his attack, which was to slash at the boy's abdomen in hope to claw Colt's stomach open with both hands set of claws.

Yeah sure, I’m right behind you.” Takeshi said sarcastically as the mist clouded his vision. At this point he wasn’t sure if Calesto was actually being serious or was just poking fun at him as well, after all there was no way Takeshi could keep up with him as he was unable to see through the mist. So instead of aimlessly wandering through the mist, he would remain stationary. “Might as well make use of this mist, hopefully the dummy will use this to his advantage” Takeshi muttered to himself before placing the flute to his lips and started playing a soft melody, which would echo throughout the entire mist. The moment the melody had ended, numerous shadow like figures would ghost-like entities would appear and began slowing surrounding the opposing team. When that was done, he would begin playing another melody.

As soon as the match technically began, Liara immediately got to work. The first thing that she decided to do was increase Calesto's strength by C rank, if calesto was allowing her to get a reserve of c rank chakra from him to mix it with her own. The end result would of been for calesto to obtain c rank strength. there would also be a hive of Mosquitos released, about 750 of them that were making quite a bit of a buzzing noise that were coherent  with the flute playing, hiding within the most at b rank speeds  in order to provide some sort of support as a cheap counter sensory for hearing and distract them. They already couldn't see through the fog,  not hearing what was going on either would muffle calestos movements. It didn't seem like much but it was a smart thing to do in the end.

In the meantime, two more hive, which were actually,  bees this time around, also hidden, would be released from calesto, not necessarily seen. D rank blood was also sacifriced upon their  exit. Their job on the battlefield was to pick up on unknown sents  at b rank speed, 500 bees in each hive. They both went around to     in order to converge into a clone, something that also wasn't seen due to the fog at b rank speeds, in order to create a honeycomb clone that moved at the swarm speed with a kunai to  grab  takahiro  by the neck, stab them with a kunai knife the neck from behind at b rank speeds. The liara inside of Calesto kept her limbs at the ready, prepared to fully support Takeshi or calesto if needed be with a slight hinge outside of his body.

Nyen would make hand seals her hands moving quite fast before using her right hand to grasp her left and lifting her left index finger, as the mist went up to obscure her vision. She didn't mind the mist, after all Kisuke sensei had taught them to fight in it she herself was a user of area concealment herself so it was actually more of a welcome thing than anything. Their sensei was based in stealth and they had likewise learned to fight effectively in mist just as easily in areas without vision as they could when they had vision, sure it cut down the effectiveness of her iron sand but she didn't need to see to guide it to her opponents. As she slowed her breathing she focused on sounds, tuning out the sounds of everything not essential to her, she had begun to trust Itami not just because it was her shield but because she knew it would protect her. So she would focus on movements, trusting Itami to deal with threats to her person, by the same token the mist that surrounded them would become metallic as it was filled with iron sand which constantly shifted around.

When the mist began playing, the black metallic granules of sand would flit upward some of them rising into the air as a perfect mimicry of the Hiding of the Iron Sand albeit far more expansive as everything within the mist ft around Nyen would be covered in a pitch black sandstorm. Some however would creep along Nyen's body probing her mouth, and eyes which would prompt her to allow Itami to do what it wanted and sure enough the figures which she would begin to see despite her iron sand would vanish as it drained the chakra out of the genjutsu obscuring her senses. "Found you. Binding Coffin." Nyen said her voice merely a whisper among the mist but that was the point she wanted to attract her opponent to her and with the noise that Takeshi was making, and him not following Calesto after his charge she would be able to pick him out from the other silent opponent.

The Galvorn which had previously spread through the area would then converge as she reached out and made a grabbing motion with her left hand. Her training with Itami had revealed some interesting things as while she knew that Itami actively worked to assist in her protection she could if needed utilize him as an offensive force. Sure it wasn't nearly as effective as for her Shield of Itami's intended purpose but it was like they said, Offense was the best Defense. She would attempt to capture Takeshi, within a cocoon of Iron Sand binding him in place before her grabbing hand would be accompanied by said hand crackling with electricity which would be obscured thanks to the Iron Sand and Mist concealing the area despite it sounding quite ominous. Though, it was fortunate, water was a conductor as was Iron Sand to a certain degree due to being iron, wet iron sand however? Well let's just say it would come as no surprise as the moment she released the electricity that it would cycle through the mist & iron sand before ending up at the coffin hopefully binding Takeshi.

An intense electric shock would end up happening, but Nyen wasn't too concerned about that using her right hand to shape Iron Sand clones, three in total and send them to engage the incoming opponents, one would be sent towards Takeshi, one to move to Takahiro, while the final one would be sent after Colt. It was slightly unsettling that she couldn't detect where the other two teammates of Team 8 went, but she would have her Iron Sand: Clone's protect them. In the case of Takahiro the Iron Sand clone would immediately form a dome encasing him and though it did restrict his overall influence in the battle completely she had deemed it unnecessary for him to get involved. As for the one sent after Colt, it moved far faster than he did, due to clocking out at Crashing Ground speeds thus upon overtaking him, it would inadvertently end up taking the sudden swipe from Calesto simply due to Nyen having it stay in front of him just in case. Her teammates were headstrong but she would be damned if they got taken out by them by a quick charge from an enemy. If the attack didn't come from the front well then at least Colt was protected in one direction.

Colt wouldn't be able to see his opponent but it didn't mean he didn't tell when Calesto got close to him, you see Colt has this thing called Homophobia and it makes him rather paranoid when guys got to close to him. Calesto was a guy, and while normally Colt would freak out he had gottena lot better at controlling his episodes but it didn't mean the paranoia went away. When the familiar fear started to creep up his body he knew that Calesto was near him, and would dart backwards at B-rank speeds while making a cross hand seal to put a shadow clone in his place while allowing the Iron Sand Clone to pass him by. The Shadow clone would make a hand seal of it's own creating clones of it's own while Colt would inhale air and then expel a large amount of it downward.

This would clear the mist and iron sand around his body momentarily but long enough for him to have his Shadow Clone change the Lightning Clones it produced into electricity which would cycle throughout the entire mist iron sand, electrifying all of them within it that is except for himself and of course Nyen because he knew she'd be protected. He would then follow up with his Thunder Burst, which thanks to all of them now being made into lightning rods would cause the lighting he released to channel directly into their bodies and paralyze them. His shadow clone however wouldn't be harmed by the lightning due to it not being in the mist along with him when he utilized bellow, due to not being knocked back by the technique thanks to the innate field of gravity surrounding every Juryoku. He wouldn't say anything though he'd just smirk as those shit talkers got fried by his electricity.

Calesto would feel the iron clone appear out of thin air right where he was about to strike, and would let out a snarl as his claws ripped through the sand. Knowing that he would have to get serious in this fight now he would force his body to go through his first two transformations, giving him a major boost in speed, he would not be left defenseless like he was during the preliminaries. It was during his transformation that Cal would hear Colt leap back and make a set of hand seals. "Not going to get away that easily" He would say as he would body replace with the sand that was in front of him to just behind Colt, it was then that he would bring out two bone swords from his hands and would proceed to stab Colt several times up and down the boy's spine at vacuum speed. However he would not stop there as he would would swing his feet out as a couple spikes would come out of the soles of his shoes, aiming the kicks moving at vacuum speed at the back of the boy's knees in order to halt his mobility. "Should have backed out when you had the chance" He had hoped the attacks would have connected with the boy, just not enough to kill the poor lad. last thing Nyen needed right now was a second team mate dying within a couple months of the first team mates death.

Calesto had made about, 3 mistakes actually with his first action, the first tearing through the clone would cause him to be ensnared by it, causing him to be bound in a Binding Coffin just like Takeshi was, and by extension Liara would be as well due to her being inside of him. Now unless he had enough to strength to break through then he would be screwed, that is at least what would of happened if Colt hadn't followed up with his shock. With his body bound a body replacement was out of the question and the paralyzing shock later would immobilize him, in addition to Takeshi and Liara while Nyen would seal the deal by crushing the captured Kurogane. "Waterfall Funeral." she said though truthfully voicing it wasn't needed, once he snarled she could finally tell where he was and it only helped that her iron sand clone had helpfully bound him in the first place. Usually she would just squeeze a little bit to let her opponent know that they should give up, but his comment had pissed her off so she would just settle for breaking every body in his body and let the only conscious member of the team be the one to give up.

"Sorry about that. But you were kind of asking for it."

PostSubject: Re: Chunin Exam Finals: First Set [Team 8 vs Team 9]   Chunin Exam Finals: First Set [Team 8 vs Team 9] Icon_minitime1st August 2016, 6:02 am

With all due respect, while inside of calesto, Liara did in fact pay about her dues in terms of chakra in order to raise the amount of speed that celeste was actually moving in for the time being. He already didn’t have natural strength tiers, and lowering his weight would of increased his speed, so while being inside of him, would of done so at the most convenient of times. This would stack on to his first two transformations in terms of the speed he have just acquired, around B++ or whatever controlled speed that calesto decided to move at with his newfound weight. (Calesto’s discretion)

Concerning the genjutsu combo nyen actually does not contain a taijutsu relation to selective hearing. Her best bet was using  hidden in the sand and in conjunction of iron particles being immersed within eachother, making a continuous sound  involving the iron sand going thought-out to particles to make up an excuse as to how it was pretty much hard to focus on anything else due to that fact, which she didn’t.  So with the two factors she could of used to get away with it not acknowledged, there was no way she could of use selective hearing  in order to drown out the sound if hiding in the sand wasn’t also used as a pusedo counter to drown out sound with the clashing of iron  sand particles occasionally rubbing against each other due to the storm.

^ Hold that for a second

As for colt, he didn’t acknowledge the sounds that were being played at all, but it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. He also did not claim the same excuse of the sand articles being used in such a way that sounds are scarcely able to come through and be defined enough to take effect if it was a genjutsu. So yes, in fact, he was also infected by the genjutsu in question.

Right now for both Nyen and Colt, it didn’t matter what genjutsu  takeshi was performing,  it’s easy to assume that it is a c rank genjutsu that was lowered to D rank cost due to the demonic flute. What mattered was the tack on, the piggybank of the genjutsu that basically overtook the effects due to the chain positioning. In the sense  of getting the benefit of the extra bonus of being in a mental genjutsu due to being a combo with takeshi, it would be of B rank value with two c’s being combined together.   Also, with takeshi’s genjutsu first, and liara’s genjutsu second, with the current chain in question, the inflicted (nyen and colt) wouldn’t be able to do two things. One, they wouldn’t be able to override the genjutsu at all, due to the fact that the mental connection was countered by the start  with liara using her mosquito branch as a medium in the first place. Second,  with the current positioning in chain, because the mosquitos are involved and basically overtook the genutsu chain,   as the new lead,  they other opponents would be cut off from overriding the genujtusu with another way to counter attack nyen, because they would have to  deal through liara first, which basically serves as a safety net.  Though, due to the fact of purely being unable to override, their only option as to ignore it, use pain, or kai, and even kai will be complicated.

The gengutsu in question that nyen and colt would be experiencing is the same.  The buzzing of the mosquito branch , become louder, which take up and occupy their hearing. At the very most, all they could hear is constant buzzing, along with the simulation of vertigo. Two turns after activation under this genjutsu, the inflicted will be disoriented enough that they will lose a sense of balance and aim, not being able to aim or aim properly. two more turns, the inflicted will start to throw up uncontrollably. And in two more turns after that, the inflicted will lose consciousness. When it comes to countering when liara uses ninachi as a medium, their only choice is to break, due to overriding the jutsu would go down the chain link and nincahi are primal creatures that are unable to be put in mental jutsu, so it would stop there without reaching liara.
Inferring the last sentence, if it doesn’t reach liara and shes the first in the chain, there is nothing in the genjutus rules that stays that it jumps over the chain of positioning for those involved whatsoever, which means as long as the positioning of the combo is correctly placed, it doesn’t reach Takeshi either. Ontop of that, vertigo inducement is actually a  jutsu that goes by turns, and not p.t, so the misconception of delay that anyone would of assumed of the genjtus is invalid, because it would of taken effect right after the turn that nyen attempted her binding coffin “found you” nonsense.  The deal in question is that even geniuses can fuck up, and they have a sense of balance and  aim, that goes for both  nyen and colt for the time being, as well as not being able to hear nothing but a buzzing sound, which could actually be equivalent to the constant ringing of your ears after hearing something loud so suddenly, irritating and annoying.

Not godmodding, but there is plenty of leeway to work around the fact that  she (nyen0 was legitimately disoriented enough to  delay the assault of the waterfall funeral  Body replacement probably wasn’t as effective, so Liara cashed out on hers instead, but not before using a transformation jutsu to turn it her clone into "Calesto????".  Even if it was a  beesewax clone, it is still made of ninachi, which is a valid replacement for the jutsu. Upon the funeral of the ninachi,   they would of exploded into C rank amount of honeycomb beesewax, which actually takes  C rank strength or higher to break out of, as well as a d rank or higher fire jutsu, no exceptions. Though, due to the second nature of  nyen being electric or whatever, what’s more important is that clone would be ruined, due to the sand particles being clumped up together by the honeycomb , scarcely crippling the amount of freedom that she has with that iron sand in question and serving as an existing material  in order to cash in on a ninachi bee hive jutsu, killing about three birds. Ontop of that, lirara is fully aware of happening around the body and has the discretion of  forming hand signs from inside the body.

Though with the existence of the clone,  of course, with an indifference of the timeline, lirara’s attempts against the vacant takahiri was in fact valid and attempted (I wont negate those actions)  which means, the body switch would actually be around takaeshis’ location, something that wasn’t established clearly by colt or nyen, so upon ghosts post, can establish how close he is since the player is not here or unable to determine how fat they are from the opponents. In the meantime, of all this., liara sends out about 4000 bees mobbing at crashing ground speeds. 2000 strategically in pairs at colt and nyen in order to explode and inflict about  2 b rank worth’s of explosions in the vicinity of  both colt and and nyen

Chunin Exam Finals: First Set [Team 8 vs Team 9] Empty

OOC: Just to...raise a few points?

1. Even if the genjutsu itself did happen, Colt didn't use anything which had to deal with aiming properly or targeting people specifically. No instead he used general aim things, one to blow the misty iron sand around himself away which isn't precise aiming, and the others were general aoe effects. The Homophobia would allow him to detect Calesto approaching him (one of the ways around genjutsu is heightened senses, and his homophobia is based on proximity). Nyen on the other hand tuned out on the sounds which were causing the genjutsu and of course, Itami saved her from the other one (Takeshi's), and even if say your argument made sense in that she didn't use selective hearing to also tune out her sand which I will admit was an oversight, Itami draining out the chakra of one genjutsu wouldn't stop at just that. Something that I can easily add in right now if that was truly an issue and discount it completely.
2. Thus taking out the genjutsu that you so need to rely on, your counter-attack becomes useless and everything Colt and Nyen did still ends up going through, in which case the aforementioned result happened and it's game.
3. Even if say all of what you did went through, your explosions, 2 B-ranks of explosions, easily dealt with with one just 1 Iron sand wall, or a dome if I'm feeling a bit more cautious. Frankly even if you did detonate all of the insects in your hive to leave you with nothing, Nyen would still walk out of it completely unscathed. She can always make more iron sand, and this match has been going on for sometime so who's to say I haven't been. I can post that though? If you like, though that would just leave you without insects that you could use next set because unlike equipment or injuries your insects are living things and while sure injuries get healed if you die you stay dead and thus it would apply to them. So it's your choice really, you can take the first result, leave and plan for the next match or I can humor you let your counter take effect and wall it completely and then demolish you and leave your insectless for the rest of the matches.
