But I don't wanna go home though!!! (Travelling to souls)

Did this dreadful day really have to happen? It was the one thing he didn't ever want to do, Souls had caused so much damage to Xerxes throughout his life. From the day he was born to the day that Light offered him a chance to change his life for the better, and now he returns to the rotting cesspool that was his home country. Why couldn't she order him to clean all the public toilets in the Undercity, that would at least be more tolerable then having to stomach his family yet again. Then again it was a large country in comparison to to greed, so chances are he would never really have to see them. Not to mention he would be staying at the dorms at this new school Princess Yvette had just opened.

Hey yo Mister, where you headed? A prepubescent voice spoke up near the gates as Xerxes approached them to leave the city and enter the forest. The voice belonged to a wiry youth dressed in what resembled rags more than any normal clothing. He had spiked brown hair, the tips fading into blonde with green eyes. Around his neck he wore a brand-new looking bandanna which was in stark contrast to the rest of the grimy child. His skin, especially the hands and face, looked as if they hadn't been washed in weeks, possibly months. He was clearly a street urchin, and upon getting closer Xerxes would undoubtedly be able to notice the pungent stench that wafted off the young boy. You got a hot date or something Mister? What's the rush? You don't look so happy Mister, this rain got ya down or somethin? The kid asked, holding out his hands as the rain drops drizzled into his open palms. The grime was so thick on this kid that not even the rain could wash it away. Ew.

Xerxes was just getting into the forest, half admiring the beauty of nature yet still down in the dumps over his current task. It was just starting to rain when he entered the forest which was quite refreshing after being in Greed for the past month. There was just something about the air conditioned settings in that city that just didn't sit right with him, so being out in some actual weather was quite pleasing for the time being. Well at least until he heard the voice of a boy not that much younger then Xerxes himself, so he would turn to the new comer examining him as he got closer. "I'm going to Ocerotto Town in the Land of Souls. I am going to school there and figured I should get there before the term is over" He said with a bit of a chuckle, trying to hide the distressed look on his face.

The boy followed beside Xerxes, not that he had been invited, but clearly this kid had no shits to give. He placed his hands behind his head and looked up at his new travel companion, School, huh? Never been to school...never been to Ocerotto Town either though... The boy trailed off, thinking for a minute as the rain poured down on the two. Finally he snapped his fingers and said, Well Mister, looks like it's your lucky day. You ain't gotta travel alone, no siree. With that the boy put two fingers in his mouth and let loose a high-pitched, slightly ear-piercing whisper that reverberated through the trees around them. Seconds later, several different heads popped out of the tree branches and from around the large trunks of the trees. There were boys and girls of all shape, size and background. They were all dirty like this boy and all very clearly street urchins. Alright people, listen up, we're goin on a trip with uh...Mister...uh...here. We're gonna go check out Ocerotto Town and maybe some skewl. Sound good? Several cheers went up through the forest as the kids dropped from the branches and ran over from the trunks until there were eight children, including the original urchin following Xerxes.

Xerxes couldn't help but star laughing when the group of kids exposed themselves from beyond the treeline, it wasn't their appearance or anything, it was just the fact they seemed more then eager to better their own lives like he himself. Oh how the gods like to play with their puppets at times is almost humorous at times, He was peter pan and these were his lost boys. "It won't be easy by any means, but absolutely you guys can come with me to school. But first why don't you guys tell me a bit about yourselves as we walk" He said finishing off his laughing fit, and would continue walking down the main road towards his destination. If there was to be any chance of running into anyone else, he was certain that saying he was escorting these children to the newly opened school would be enough to waver off any hostile activity. Then again Ryuu was quite certain that he could fend off any attacker for the time being.

The boy grinned widely as Xerxes spoke to him, he was genuinely excited for this new adventure and the possibility to attend...skewl...whatever that was. Well Mister, my name is Aki. This is James, Coco, Penelope, Simon, Rex, Badger, and Timantha. Aki said, pointing to each of the children who all gave a large grin and wave towards Xerxes as they walked along around him. Fun fact, Badger was a girl and Timantha was a boy...weird right? The kids ages ranged from about five to twelve or so. As they walked several of them lifted their heads to the sky and opened their mouths to let the rain fall in. It was odd seeing kids who had literally nothing, barely even clothes on their back, seem so happy in the presence of simple rain. One couldn't help but laugh at their simple amusement. So what do we call you Mister? Or do you just want to be called Mister? Aki asked as they walked through the forest, his hand resting on his head again. He looked up at Xerxes, the slight twinkle of boyish youth and wonderment in his deep grey eyes.

Xerxes was still chuckling to himself as Aki introduced the group to him, it was rather refreshing to see such care free children in the world now a days. After they were all introduced Ryuu would crack his neck while walking throug the jungle, and could now see the blood tainted grasslands in the distance and knew that they weren't far off from their destination. Even though he had been to oceletto town only once in his life before meeting up with Neo, he still had a good idea on where they were supposed to go. "You can call me Ryuu, or Boss. Either works for me personally" He said with a grin, even though most of the children were older then Xerxes himself, they seemed to look up to the Dakar for some reason.

Aki tried the name on his tongue, sounding it out awkwardly, Ry-ooo. Hmmmm okay, well I think I'll just call you Boss. He said, smiling at Ryuu with that dumb kid look that showed he didn't have a care in the world and was just happy to wake up each and every day. So are you really going to school in Oceletto town Boss? Or do you have some secret mission or plans or something? You look like the type of guy who'd be doing some super secret covert ops but just telling us kids tha- Aki stopped mid-sentence, scooped up a thick pile of mud and hurled it at Badger about ten feet to his right, BADGER! What did I tell you about eating those berries? No! They'll make you sick. The mud glob smacked Badger in the back of the head, dripping down her back and soaking into her auburn hair. The girl turned to Aki and made a pouting face, but obeyed and left the berries alone. Like I says Boss, you look like the kinda guy who knows some stuff he won't tell us kids about. Aki said, returning his attention to Ryuu.

Xerxes couldn't help but grin as he walked when he heard Aki call him Boss, which meant that these kids were now his students and crewmen. Which meant that he could start a mini gang if he so wanted to when they all went to school, okay well maybe not a gang but at least he wouldn't be alone in school. He would watch as Aki would throw a mud clump at Badger, and would be pretty much be unable to stop himself from laughing at the two. "My mission is to go to school, all so that I can be the best solider that Princess Yvette requires" He said finishing off his laughing, wiping a tear from his eye as his feet came down on the blood stained grass, he could now see the entrance to the town not that far away maybe a few minutes of walking left. "And you guys are going to help with that"

Aki grinned from ear to ear, happy to hear the other boy laughing at his own prank. This kid just liked to make people happy, simple as that. Well Boss, that's a pretty boring mission. I thought you'd be fighting dragons and saving princesses, although Princess Yvette sounds nice. I don't know much about her though. Aki said, tapping a finger on his chin before staring out across the blood red grasslands. He smiled again, Hey look Boss, I think we're almost there. I can't wait to start this whole skewl thing. It sounds fun, right guys? Aki asked, turning around to the others who all let out cheers and fist pumps at the prospect of something so simple as going to school. What interesting children...

FInally the group had arrived in Ocerotto Town and not a minute too soon if you asked Xerxes, the sooner he would get this school thing taken care of the sooner he could leave this wretched country. "We were once Lost in our ways, but now we have found a new path to take" He would say under his breath as they moved through the entrance and would walk towards the massive school they would be staying at from now on. So Xerxes would enroll himself and the other children into classes. "Looks like we're in a few classes together and we'll have four dorm rooms all on the same floor. James and Rex in 401, Coco, Penelope, and Badger will share dorm 404, Aki and Simon will bunk together in 402, and I will be alone in 403 until another student is enrolled"
