Subject: Flowing Streams 10th December 2014, 9:16 pm
Name: Flowing Streams Description: The majority of the south of Serenity Lake which is located in the lower half of the Land of the Damned are filled with jagged rocks which spike upward making the passage of ships very difficult, rather smaller boats still have a hard time with rowboats and canoes providing the best bet at passage into the Land of Damned mainland through the south. This is due to the jagged rocks forming numerous streams with high currents flowing out from Serenity Lake into the Imperial Sea, the currents are always going out causing those attempting to enter to push against the current while those exiting swim with it. Flowing Dam (Shrine):
This Shrine is located near the end of the flowing stream being a natural dam made by Flame Tribe Dobutsu similar to how beavers make dams. It is much larger however and is the reason why the Flowing streams are named as such due to them actually being an offshoot of the river serenity which empties into the Imperial Sea. The water has been backlogged since the Dobutsu took over the Land of the Damned and it is a testament to how well it is made that even the small trickles of water are pressurized enough to form strong currents. The Dobutsu who man it live within and under it making storage places for resources and secure areas to rest and relax. Despite this it is heavily patrolled as it is crucial to constantly maintain it lest the dam break causing the massive amounts of water held back by it to gush outward sweeping away everything under it's bulk and churning hapless victims underwater until they are completely out of the Land of Damned. The distance covered is very long and often victims are pushed underwater and held there during the entire duration if they are unable to swim with strength 1-rank higher then the force the water exerts resulting in those which are unable to breathe underwater drowning with their corpses filling the part of the Imperial Ocean nearest to the Land of Damned. Amount of Water (Materia) held back every 3 days S-rank Current Amount of Water held back by Dam = 1 S-rank *The Force (Strength) and Speed of the Gushing water is always equal to the amount of Water held back meaning large amounts of water result in a more catastrophic dam break.
