A genetic rewrite is caused by the virus that evolves inside the member's body, transforming them into deadly weapons of destruction. They can fashion portions of their bodies into weapons and cause mass devastation with their incredible natural inhuman strength. Newly enhanced musculature increases their speed and agility, allowing them to break the boundaries of human sprinting and jumping ability. The Ōtsutsuki aren't born with a chakra nature being ronin but their affinity for genjutsu are higher then normal ronin making their Genjutsu up two in rank while keeping the normal chakra cost .

[b]Description:[/b] The Ōtsutsuki are capable of self-regeneration to a limited degree, and are capable of consuming living biomass to regenerate and heal themselves completely. It takes 2 posts to heal C-Rank wounds. It takes 4 posts to heal B-Rank wounds while it takes 6 posts to heal A-Rank wounds. It takes 8 posts to heal S-Rank wounds while it takes 10 posts to heal SS-Rank wounds. For every post higher damage is reduced to the lesser damage. For example it takes 4 posts for a SS-Rank wound to become A-Rank wounds. When they consume an individual, they are capable of taking the memories and DNA of the individual.

[b]Description:[/b] When a member of the Ōtsutsuki bloodline is born the virus "plugs in" and activates the "junk" DNA in its host, resulting in several biological changes that create (and recreate) sentience within the person's cellular makeup. It acts by affecting the protein encoding regions of the promoter introns in each cell. As a retrovirus, it contains both RNA and the reverse transcriptase enzyme, allowing it to insert its own new genetic codes into the host's cells. It enters, re-purposes and changes the cell, replicating previously dormant non-coding segments of the organism's DNA allowing the users of this clan to train their chakra levels up by race starting at Dakar capping at Soulless chakra reserves. With this ability the Ōtsutsuki are unable to awaken.

However, few variants have yielded other beneficial results endowing the infected Bloodline member with incredible superhuman genetic prowess that greatly increase their natural abilities to levels far exceeding human capacity, and thus the Ōtsutsuki is born. This virus does not affect others, it is simply a genetic makeup that resides within the individual surviving members of the Ōtsutsuki bloodline that causes their natural tiers to cap at SS-Rank rather then S-Rank.
