Eight Roads Kuuflap

In the beginning, there were only a small handful of young men and women whom had taken to the streets of Japan and made it a playground. Anything, anywhere and everywhere was a place to ‘run’ and to ‘fly’. This actuality and the metaphor involved inspired hundreds in Tokyo, which evolved into thousands to the tens of thousands. Air Trek had turned out to be a household practice spoken of and performed by children, adolescents, and adults alike. This influence spread once more throughout the outer cities; most notable of all, Kyoto. Here the buds of a completely different generation grew by monumental levels. No strangers to excitement, Storm Riders from all areas would take to the streets much like Tokyo, and call it their own. Claiming territory across the land it was as if another gold rush had struck.

These young people formed teams such as the Wayward Souls and El Imperio; many smaller teams having never truly been forgotten. Their stickers and emblems stuck to the walls and left to decay due to the harsh elements of reality. Those teams crumbled under the pressure, never having been allowed the chance to grow, or mysteriously disbanded; such as Diamond Helix, the Brotherhood of Wheels, and Manifest Destiny.

Yet their stories will never go forgotten since they were all a part of history and as many learn in life; history never goes forgotten. Today things stand differently thanks to the small actions of the small groups of men and women who dared; specifically the stories of those whom succeeded for a fragment in time. After the events in Kyoto at the ‘Cretan Cube’, an inevitable crackdown was the result of an engagement between massively skilled Storm Riders. Or was it? Soon after the clash began it was interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious ‘Storm Stalker’. Among these people were three individuals, whom will now be regarded as legends for their actions; showcased amazing abilities never before seen in the public eye.

However, there was no time for bedazzlement as only moments later the arrival of the Shinjuku Crocodile would save the lives of dozens, but also put a swift and cunning end to the reign of Storm Riders in Kyoto. For now. Over the course of a year, G-Men as they were called continued to raid supposed hideouts of Storm Riders. No rider was safe as long as they possessed Air Treck. The remaining and most popular teams would be most affected. The Wayward Souls would vanish, only leaving small remnants of their existence including the complete disappearance of their undefeated ‘Sky Dragon’ and ‘Stray Wolf’. Meanwhile their massive rival, El Imperio would struggle without its leadership, it would later disband. Yet this was nothing when considering the cries of a nation would be heard world round.

A massive earthquake would hit Japan, destroying several of its infrastructures; even endangering its own citizens with the technological advancements. The world would come to there aid, meanwhile hidden due to crisis; something else was amidst. Because of the popularity Air Trek acquired, it was only obvious that the world would have figured out in small quantities. Over the year, it had become more popular world wide and there was an entirely new target audience. “Fly High Inc.”, the major brand which monopolizes A-T was stretched thin due to inflation and using a large portion of its funds to help the recovery of Japan; its target audience. Once it came to its attention there was profit to be gained elsewhere, they focused their efforts on the global scale. A new global audience.

Within this year, popularity in American riders had increased. With a new way of thinking came entirely new ideas and concepts which remained undiscovered and underutilized in Japan. With the current crisis and the United States being a major ally to Japan, several Storm Riders from the area would migrate to the states to view this new scene and escape the crackdown plaguing their own home. With that departure, the crackdown came to an end. The liveliness of the area increased, but a large community had chosen to travel abroad. Once they arrived they would learn how the United States was split into East and West, not merely by city. There was one goal they all shared, one idea which remained the same, and one mission these Storm Riders and Tuners would take part in. They would choose to 'run' and to 'fly'.
