PostSubject: Thundergod's Blessing [Kirai's Training]   23rd August 2018, 10:39 pm

She woke to darkness. She always did. The blanket was thin and she dusted her fingers over it, biting her lip. Touch was important to her, more than it was to others. They didn’t understand what it was like for her. The people around her all had eyes, they all had special eyes, they could see things that others couldn’t, they could manifest amazing power. Then there was Kirai. She didn’t have any eyes but she went through her usual ritual.

The covers were tossed aside and she sat up, feet not quite reaching the ground yet, her growth was a bit stunted. Reaching up, her fingers traced the edges of her eye sockets, feeling the bone and sticky residue. She slid her hand to the side, brushing the scar that ran over her temple, it was clean, precise, she appreciated that at least. A flash of rage burned through her and she clenched her jaw. She refused to scream for them. Every day she done this, she had to be sure she didn’t have eyes, every day for the past three years. She let out a long hiss of air and then leaned over. Careful placement every night and learning to sleep as light as a feather meant she knew where her blindfold was and none of the others could sneak in to move it aside. She wrapped it around her eyes, adjusted it until it sat in the right position and then hopped to her feet.

Clothes were easy enough to pull on, she usually just left them on the floor anyway, less fiddling around with stupid drawers. She dusted herself down to make sure most of the dirt and fluff was gone but she couldn’t exactly be sure. Carefully she walked forwards until she found the door of her room and then opened it… And it jammed. Well no. She gave it a quick shake and realised that it had been locked or barred from the outside, it wasn’t jammed. A growl left her and she slammed her fist into the door before moving over to the doorframe. She slid her finger down until she found the first hinge and located the screws holding it in. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out her second emergency kunai, the first was under her pillow, and jammed it into the screw, twisting it until it came out. She moved onto the next and the next. Eventually the hinges were gone and she pulled the door back and away, lowering it carefully to the ground.

Walking out the door she felt around on the ground, finding the pole that had been used to lock the door in place. She tossed it into her room and then moved down the corridor. She could sense faint crackles of electricity, people had moved through here recently. She crouched and faded into silence, sliding around and quickly leaving the house. She hated living there but she didn’t have the money to move out of the Erlang compound yet and no one else was going to take her in, were they? After all, who wanted a blind Denkou taking up space? Everyone was pretty sure she was going to die on the first mission she went on.

It was entirely possible that would happen if her team didn’t help her out, if she had any Erlang in her team they definitely wouldn’t. She let out a bitter laugh and shook her head as she started to move towards her hiding spot where she kept all of her equipment stashed. She wouldn’t be allowed her starter kit in the house, not with the arseholes that lived there fucking with her every day they could. She checked around to see if she could detect anyone nearby but she couldn’t… And with that she slipped into the alley and moved towards the end.

Electricity crackled and she ducked to the side, a fist swinging past her head. “Ugh you little bitch…” A familiar voice grunted, one of the boys that she lived with. Her senses could see over him, see the crackling of lightning in his body, how it flickered through his muscles. He brought his fist back and swung again. She turned aside and let it move past her before punching his arm, one knuckle extended to deaden the muscles. Her other hand flashed out and struck him between the ribs, forcing a choked cough out of him. He then crouched and barrelled into her, forcing her back against the wall. Kirai snarled and tucked her knees up to her chest, putting her feet against his chest and kicking him back, it was then that she realised he’d moved his hands up and grabbed her across the throat. Her jaws clenched as she was lifted into the air and he started to squeeze.

She was just really glad he had a Raidengan and not a Kyougan. Metal flashed as she rammed her kunai into his arm and she felt warmth running over her hand. With a snarl he fell back, clutching at the wound and dropping her. She gave him no time to recover and slammed into him, shoving him against the other wall of the alley before driving her knee into his crotch. He choked and dropped down, protecting the vulnerable part. Her tiny fist hammered into his face and slammed his head back against the wall. Several punches later and her hands were covered in blood and he was unconscious on the ground. He wouldn’t tell anyone… His pride mattered too much, he wouldn’t admit to getting beat up by a tiny, blind girl. She ripped the weapon out of his arm, used some of his clothing to wipe as much of the blood off of her as she could, considering she couldn’t see it, and then she moved, picked up her hidden equipment and started to walk away to find somewhere else to put it. She would have loved if that was the first, or last, time he had done that but she knew him too well… He’d be back for more and he’d be angrier next time, when he beat her up, the next time he was usually a bit more gentle.

PostSubject: Re: Thundergod's Blessing [Kirai's Training]   22nd September 2018, 3:31 pm

Fists struck leather and sweat splashed to the ground. Another trio of strikes slammed into the punching bag, sending it reeling back and Kirai let out a huff. She hopped back and slumped slightly, hands on her knees as she sucked in a few breaths. She rolled her shoulders and got to her feet once more before stepping in and slamming both fists into the bag. A hiss left her and she rolled to the side, letting it swing past her, before moving back into position. The leather was starting to sting now and she could feel the wet patches she had left on the material due to how long she’d been hitting it. It’d been hours now, a constant barrage against this stupid bag to try and get her rage out.

She was going to be put into a team and she just knew that they were going to bully her. Of course they were, what else would they do to someone like her? They’d probably be successful warriors already, one of them was part of a clan, the other part of an established family. She knew that they weren’t failures to them, unlike Kirai. He brought an arm up and wiped her forehead, feeling the dried blood from her eyes also smearing over her forearm. It was sticky but she didn’t give a damn, it’d been happening for years now.

With a growl she flipped backwards, kunai flashing from the holsters on her thighs as she launched them towards the bag. Wire screeched as it reeled out and she heard, and felt, the thud of metal hammering into leather and cotton stuffing. Flicking her wrists out she wrapped her fingers around the wires and pulled, the kunai flying out and back to her. She caught them easily and slid them back into the holsters before dashing in once more, leaping up to slam a kick into the bag. She rotated over in midair before the bag came back and planted both feet on it before pushing off and flying backwards. She took a deep breath and rolled over to land on her feet once more. With that she let out a long sigh and flopped over onto the ground. She’d cleared up this little den awhile ago, it had taken long enough, she had to find all the debris by hand before sweeping it away. As far as she knew though it was clean. Splaying her hand out, electricity thrummed into the air around her body and she scanned her eyeless sockets around.

It was so interesting for her to actually see for the first time. Well, it wasn’t really sight. Solid objects were outlined with electricity, glowing a soft blue. Some things were out of place but she knew that she had kicked some of them by accident. Then she froze. She hadn’t moved those boxes from that corner, she made sure to note down every movement she had done and that hadn’t been one of them. Her lips curled in anger and she crouched in the corner letting the darkness overtake her, at least until this mystery mover showed up.

It took eight hours. Kirai was patient, she had always been when it came to her own safety. She remembered spending freezing nights out in the street on an empty stomach so that she could avoid certain visitors to the building. They didn’t like her, they always tried to take advantage of her. Sure enough, the door opened and someone crawled in. They seemed nervous. She could only pick up on their electrical impulses but those outlined the entire body and they were jerking around as they tried to look into every nook and cranny to see if anyone was there. They obviously weren’t very skilled because they didn’t spot Kirai at all. With a whisper of clothing on stone, she slid out from her shadowy alcove and moved closer to her target, fingers dancing down to take a series of kunai out of her holster.

The figure stood and seemed to become less nervous. They murmured something about making space for a bed and Kirai realised that this wasn’t someone coming for her, this was someone coming for her hideout, it was an invasion. She dashed forwards and threw two kunai out in front of her as she leaped onto the man’s back. The kunai thrown were engulfed in lightning and aimed directly towards him while Kirai put her blade to his throat before leaning in to hiss into his ear.

“This is not your home, this is mine. Leave or die. If I find you here again, you will die, simple as that.” She snarled at him, blade sinking slightly into his skin. He couldn’t flinch away however as her other hand was gripping his jaw, keeping him in place. “Do you understand?” She murmured almost sweetly, twisting the knife slightly. He nodded frantically and Kirai leaped off of his back, landing in a predatory stance, one hand on the ground, the other still holding her blade as she stared at him. He turned, took one look at her and then proceeded to escape from the den, panting loudly.

Someone could find her but there were no lights in here, no windows either, after all why would a blind girl need lights? So it was unlikely that he’d be able to identify her and that meant she was safe once more, he wouldn’t be back here. No one fucked with shinobi or kunoichi unless they were the same and considering his piss scared attitude, he absolutely wasn’t. She sighed and brought her weapons back, sliding them away into their sheaths once more. She chewed on her lip and then moved back to the punching bag, climbing up and undoing the wire that held it to the roof, she added the wire loop back to the rest and then put the bag away. With that done, she made sure to wipe off the blood that had dripped onto the ground, difficult as it was to find, and started to head home. Maybe she’d be able to actually sleep properly tonight.

She sat slumped on her bed, a yawn leaving her before she flopped back. The cold air brushed over her skin. She’d been for a bath, it’d been a long time. She had never hated feeling grimy or feeling dirty, baths weren’t something that she liked, water was an enemy, she couldn’t see it properly. Of course that didn’t stop the owner of the household forcing her to bathe once in a while so that she wouldn’t stink so bad. A shiver bolted down her spine and she curled up slightly. She rubbed her legs together for a moment before crawling under the blankets and sighing softly. This was the other reason she hated going for a bath, being naked and cold was awful. Naked itself wasn’t so bad but the cold was such a bother and when she was wet, the cold was worse. Her body started to relax and she sniffed her own arm, somewhat enjoying the scent that it had but it meant it’d be easier to find her, she’d need to work up a sweat the next day. It was not long after that she fell asleep and her mind started to go into overdrive, she always did have a vivid imagination, it just usually went to nightmares, not dreams…

“Some kind of throwaway warrior am I…” Fredrich muttered as he clomped closer to the gates of the castle. He pulled the stopper out of a wineskin and upended the fluid onto his helmet, letting it dribble through the holes into his mouth. He didn’t care about any ending up in his beard or falling to his chest. He was too pissed off for anything like that. He shook the wineskin and tossed it aside, letting it slap onto the helmet of one of the footmen guarding the bridge. They seemed outraged for a moment before looking at him, catching sight of his royal blue armour, outlined with deep brass, and the massive curved horns rising from his head. He knew better than to mess with Fredrich and simply went back to his post, staring directly ahead.

“That’s what I fuckin’ thought…. Pansy…” He waved a dismissive hand towards the footman and then wobbled over to the massive wooden doors that hid the internal workings of the castle. Who did the King think he was?! He knew that Fredrich was in the valley when he unleashed that damn magical bombardment and when he broke the Dam and flooded the place! He was just going to let him die! Unfortunately for the ol’ King, Freddy had survived and was back to get his revenge.

He hiccupped and shook his head for a moment before raising one cloven hoof and slamming it into the wooden door. The wood cracked and splintered, all up the oaken edifice. “Fuckin’ serious?” He rolled his eyes and then jumped, hamming both hooves into the door and launching himself backwards. He flipped over and landed again in time to see the doors hammering into the walls, broken to pieces and with several terrified guards watching him. He unshipped the glaive from his back and walked through the doorway, pausing for a moment to steady himself. Maybe he shouldn’t have stolen five wineskins, four would have been enough.

Too late to back down now however. “Right! You bunch of… Of fucking piss-stained ninny children, get out of my damn way. I need to go talk with the King and getting in my way is likely to be…” He paused for a moment and blinked a few times, letting his nausea pass. “…Is gonna be a real stupid idea, alright? So bugger off.” He told them, flailing his free arm but none of them moved. In fact they seemed to get over their shock and started to pull swords and shields out into ready stances. He looked behind him and then back, incredulously, “You did see what I did to the fucking door, right? Bah, idiots.” He sighed and then charged forwards, letting the guards get into a shield line.

He stopped just shy of the line and hopped, slamming his hoof into a shield and sending the wielder back twenty feet with a sickening crunch as the shield, and his arm, shattered under the force. Fredrich turned and hammered his gauntleted fist into the face of the next soldier now that the line was open. His face crumpled inwards and he dropped to the ground, gurgling blood. The staff of his Guandao snapped out next, tripping the footman to his other side and he stomped down, crushing her into the ground with whipcrack pops and snaps.

Three remained and one tried to run. He slid the pole through his fingers and grasped the very end, snapping the blade out in a circle to cleave through his hamstrings. He fell, screaming, and Freddy used the momentum to flip over and side kick the next warrior’s head clean off their shoulders with a fountain of blood. He landed on his shoulder and rolled to his hooves. Punching upwards, he knocked the sword of the last aside and used his other arm to push her shield out the way before stepping in and slamming his head into hers. Her helmet buckled and her skull collapsed and he stood tall, getting a proper grip on his weapon again. “Eidjits…” He mumbled and stumbled off deeper into the castle, leaving a screaming warrior behind him.

The next door in opened the way to the actual castle, the first wall was the defensive position but this was a castle within a castle and the doors were a lot sturdier. He looked at the metal bands that covered the massive Stonewood door. He blinked a few times and then jumped and slammed both hooves into it. This was quickly followed by a loud thump as he landed on the ground, clutching his legs. “AH FUCK! FUCK OW SHIT! STUPID SOLID FUCKING DOOR!” He roared, spending a few minutes cussing and rolling around before he got back up. After making sure that no one really saw anything but he was pretty sure corpses wouldn’t be telling anyone about his stupid deeds… Then again, Necromancers were becoming a bit more prolific now that the magical art had been legalised. He took his guandao and slammed it in between some of the bricks in the wall after hopping upwards, giving him some good leverage. He then hunted around, grabbing some rope from a nearby armoury, and tossed it up to hook it around the Guandao. With the rope securely in hand he hopped up onto the wall and kicked off it, letting his monstrous strength carry him up so he could grab hold of the handle and pull himself up onto it. Once he was secure he crouched and leaped again, firing himself like a cannonball upwards. He crested the buttress and landed with a thud. Two archers stared at him in shock and he pulled on the rope, his Guandao, having fallen from the wall due to his jump, flew upwards and into his hand. The first archer died less than a second later as his throat was severed and the next was kicked off the wall.

There were others but they were already running to get better soldiers. They were only a token guard force, they weren’t built to deal with this. After all, they were deep within Royal territory, they weren’t expecting one of the King’s greatest warriors to come after them with a thirst for blood. Fredrich pondered on how they knew but then he remembered the massive Chimera emblazoned on his chest that showed exactly who he was, there were enough Satyrs around that people wouldn’t know him just by that, then again he did have the largest horns and fur of purest black that sparkled with copper tips.

He shrugged and leaped off the wall, landing softly and starting his stumble towards the Sanctum where he knew the King would be. When he heard the clopping of hooves he instinctively leaped backwards and a huge armoured form galloped past him. He landed and charged, he wasn’t waiting for the fucking Centaur to get another run up. She turned and readied her lance only to get kicked in the side by both of Fredrich’s hooves, one of the best flying dropkicks he’d ever landed. She flew away as though she’d been launched from a trebuchet and slid along the ground. It took a few moments but she did manage to get back up, the barding on her flanks entirely collapsed into her side but the padding and her own muscle would have protected her somewhat. She was angry though.

“Oh shit, Tone! It’s you!” He called out to her. He’d wooed her before… Or tried to at least, he was pretty sure he’d never found the half-rib he’d lost due to those attempts. She had a mean kick to her, nowhere near as nasty as her jousting though. “I’m not here to kill anyone you know! I just want to see the King! I’ve got fucking words to have with him, damn it.” He stumbled out of the way of her next charge and punched her straight in the ass, causing her to rear up and swing for his head. He brought up his forearms, letting the side of the lance hammer into them and throw him back. He landed hooves down and moved his arms out the way.

“You foul beast! You’ve already slain friends of mine! I won’t let you go any further!” She howled in her adorable self-righteous way, she was always so pretty when she was trying to kill him. He smiled fondly and then paused.

“Hey, you seen my Guandao?” He asked her but she was already charging. Damn. He looked around for a moment and saw it a couple dozen feet away, he must have dropped it during his dropkick, it was a really good kick. He dropped and slid through Tone’s legs, letting her pass overhead before he threw himself forwards and rolled, catching his weapon and getting up. He spun and waited for her next charge. At the last moment he jumped and struck her over the face with the haft of his weapon. Her entire body was snapped backwards and she fell onto her back, unconscious. He landed and immediately tripped over her body, faceplanting the dirt.

Fredrich huffed and got up. “You better have survived that, stupid horse. I’m not done trying to take you out to dinner!”

Deciding to be a bit more sensible this time, he moved to the Sanctum’s doors, crafted from enchanted dragonsteel, they were beautiful. He slid the blade of his glaive between the doors and then flipped forwards, slamming his hoof down in an axe-kick onto the back of the blade. It shunted down, cleaving straight through the lock mechanisms. Fred grunted as he hit the ground on his back and then got up only to immediately get grabbed from behind. An arm snaked around his throat and another went under his armpit, getting him into a near perfect chokehold. They didn’t seem to know that it was a Satyr’s legs you had to watch out for. He kicked back and something shattered and he turned, forcing them backwards into the wall. Whatever was holding him turned to nothing however and he hit the wall himself, shadows dancing around him and forming into strange, overly tall figure. A Chimera-like symbol glistened in the shadows of their stomach. Nuxo, he never liked this guy… Girl… Thing.

Chimera were a unique little unit that King Uxix had set up, horrific beasts and the greatest beings of their species working together as an elite murder force. Fredrich was part of it, so was Nuxo, one of the last Umbrakyn, they hailed from a strange, tainted land up north and were effectively invincible when it came to normal wounds. Didn’t stop Fredrich from kicking him though.

Nuxo seemed surprised at the kick and was immediately turned into a cloud of shadow from the force, flitting aside and reforming once more, its arms forming into long, glossy blades. The Satyr Knight lifted his Guandao and immediately went into a flurry of blows, his alcoholic stupor was starting to fade so he wasn’t likely to carve himself up with his blade. The curved edge danced and flashed in the light and met with shadow again and again. After each collision Fred was forced to arch his body out of the way as the darkened blade passed around his own and went straight for his vitals. Only the Guandao was magical, his armour wouldn’t even be paper to those damned swords. Thankfully a magical weapon was exactly what he needed… It wasn’t the right kind of enchantment, his weapon would never go dull and it was nearly unbreakable. It didn’t set things on fire like some others, it didn’t freeze what it cut, it didn’t let him teleport. There were a lot of things it didn’t do but that was fine, he could always make up for the shortcomings of the weapon with his own gumption and bloody minded determination.

After another series of blows he knew that he’d need to either find a way to become instantly sober or distract Nuxo. He didn’t have any detox or magic, so he was left with only one option. “Maker’s Balls! Is Tone naked?!” He screamed and Nuxo paused, cocking his head to the side. Perfect. Fredrich used the pause to twist his blade and stab it forwards, the weapon ramming into the shadow beast’s chest and pinning him to the door… The magical door. Stuck to a source of powerful magic, Nuxo wasn’t able to come apart and so Fredrich’s fist crushed his skull like it would a normal one. That caused him to disperse.

He’d be back though, they never truly died without some weird sort of ritual magic but it’d be a good few hours yet. The punch also had the added benefit of throwing the metal door open and giving him a fanfare to Uxix’s throne room. He pulled the Guandao out of the door and stepped in, looking at the torches that lined massive glass pillars down either side of the room. The floor was polished obsidian and the roof glowed softly with magic woven through the crystal it was made of. Twenty heavily armoured knights, wielding either greatswords or greatshields and spears, stood before him. Behind them, another nearly two hundred feet away was King Uxix.

Deep black eyes studied Fredrich and he stroked the tendrils that fell from his blue cheeks. A fin of epic proportions rose from his back, like those of sea dragons, and sparked with electricity. Fredrich looked at the Knights and then back to Uxix. “You know what’s going to happen. Are you really going to make me kill them all to get to you?” His only response was a simple nod. “Oh you’re a right bastard.” With that, he got to slaughtering.

He attacked a shield wall like he always did; with a charge. He tucked his shoulders and head in and charged forwards, spears clanging off of his armour. He hopped and landed on the first greatshield, forcing the wielder back due to Fredrich’s surprising weight. His Guandao lashed out, spraying the blood of the two Knights to either side and then he jumped with all of his strength. The sheer concussive force shattered the obsidian floor, what it done to the man holding the greatshield was even worse. His entire body crunched and shattered, blood spewing from every orifice as he was shunted into the ground. Rotating around easily, he was kind of upset that Rashakai wasn’t here to catch him but there was a ceiling instead. He landed on that for barely a second before starting to fall. He wasn’t going to kick off of it, he was tough but he wasn’t literally a cannonball. Thankfully his kick had displaced them enough that he wasn’t falling into a pit of spears.

The next died as he landed, Guandao piercing through their shoulder and then his weight ripped it out of them, soaking the floor with blood. He spun and swung the weapon low, screams followed as legs were cleaved through and then he grasped the handle, blocking a greatsword and kicking the Knight in the chest, caving it in and sending him flying backwards. He sidestepped a spear and grabbed it, pulling the soldier forwards and ramming his blade into their face, ripping it out with a flick of his wrist, spattering others with blood. He then wrenched the body around, the corpse jerking as two spears pierced it. He then threw it aside, ripping the spears out of their owner’s hands and stabbing the first through the chest. His hands grasped the second’s head and he wrenched it down, vertebrae separating with wet, sickening pops. With a growl he turned and used the body as a bludgeon to push another warrior away from him. The floor was so coated with fresh blood now that several soldiers had fallen, swift stomps finished them, his hooves punching like bullets through breastplates. He ripped out his Guandao and swung it through the torso of another Knight, cleaving them almost entirely in half.

His hoof lashed out, denting a greatshield and sending the soldier backwards, there were only a few more now. Fredrich dived away from a slash and leaped onto the Knight’s back, he dug his hooves into their spine and grabbed their head, pulling until the skin tore and the spine rippled and screamed before their head came off like a melon. He then threw it, bouncing it off of another’s faceplate and causing them to recoil in perfect time for him to reach out, grab them by the shoulders and then headbutt their skull into red jam. Kicks and punches finished the last few and with that done he walked up to Uxix, Guandao at the ready.

“Fucking finally… Why the fuck did you try and have me killed?” He asked the King and he simply tilted his head.

“Try and have you… Oh fuck, were you still in the Valley?” He asked, his eyes widening and he leaned in, sniffing for a moment. “Makes sense you were angry… And drunk. I sent a missive to get you out of there so I could turn that place into a mass grave. Did you not receive it?”

“The Messenger told me to keep pushing into the Valley, it had your seal and everything.” Fredrich exclaimed.

“Hm… I have an idea.” He whistled loudly and Uxix’s second in command while his wife was away out leading the armies, wandered over. He was a tall, semi-draconic being and didn’t seem bothered with all the blood although his eyes widened ever so slightly when he saw Fredrich but he recovered quickly. “Olavain, as the sole other person capable of accessing my royal seal… Do you know why the mission missive was wrong?”

“I have not a single clue, My Lord.” He declared, his voice steady. “Perhaps it was…” Olavain didn’t get to finish. Electricity coursed through his body and burned out his eyes. He dropped to the ground in a burned heap and Fredrich shook his head.

“People need to remember that you can detect lies.” He said simply before picking up Uxix and tossing him across the Throne Room into a wall. “That’s for making me murder a bunch of fucking people to get to you though, prick.” Fredrich walked out to get more wine, followed by the guttural laughter of his King.
